News:
>Kotobukiya is making reproduction kits for Arnval and Strarf based on new Machineca (マシニーカ) bodies designed by Apsy.
>Plastica.jp will sell blank bodies once he's happy with the final design.
>Megami Device (メガミデバイス) is another proposed line using that new body, so they'll be compatible too. They could be GKs, model kits, or figures. Too soon to know.
>Frame Arms Girl continues with an unarmored kit plus the architect is up next, with another mech on the way.
>Blade teamed up with Megahouse to make some cheaper, 8cm tall 1:1 battle robot figures called Desktop Army. Their plan includes 3d printable add-ons to appeal to customizers.
tldr it's a good time to be a Shinkifag.

Where to buy second hand Shinkis:
>eBay/Amazon - only if you hate having too much money. Avoid Latvia.
>Mandarake - search 武装神姫 and don't trust listing images (they sometimes get mixed up).
>Yahoo Japan Auctions - same kanji as above, you'll need a proxy, try Noppin or FromJapan.
>Taobao - search 武装神姬 and use a proxy like Taobaoring, Taoboafocus, or Bhiner.
>Amiami occasionally gets some preowned. They tend to sell fast.
>Check the BST, My Figure Collection, and Busou Shinki World for sales.

Yeah, ask Zylias if he has any other shinkis, he has a few he hasn't listed yet. But he seems to be somewhat aware of the demand for some of them given how he severely overprices some like his Babyrazz, which is odd given that he sold me my second Asuka for only S$50.

That Valona is a fucking steal tho, please let me sleep sound at night knowing she has gone to a nice master.

And then I realized Stylet doesn't have a lot of surfaces on which I could paste decals without going full Katoki.
I should probably go to the hobby shop to see if they have some good decals that are the right size. Maybe get some aircraft weapons to display too. (For the SG shinkibros here, the store I'm referring to is M Workshop.)

I'll probably make a webm of it spinning later. If I can figure out how to rotate it without getting myself in the shot, that is.

Either way, the house is now done-done. There's nothing left to do, literally. The only thing I could do to add to it now is buy furniture and posters and the like, and those are transient, anyway.

... Maybe add a few fixtures to the bathroom, like a shower curtain and shower head for the bathtub. Hmmm ...

Not to ruin the feels, but can't shinkis detect life signs? If they found out something's wrong, they'd probably call emergency services. That kind of function would make sense for a social/recreational bot like shinkis.

It would still be heartbreaking, though; shinkis still lose their masters and might have to be passed down to others or deactivated.

These houses haven't been in production for several years, so you're dealing with aftermarket if you want one, and the sellers have no idea what they're doing.

This will be my first FAG, I have a few questions.

FAGs are compatible with all the regular MSG stuff linked below as it says.
So i should be good to go if i order a load of these?

http://slist.amiami.com/top/search/list?s_seriestitle=MSG+%28Modeling+Support+Goods%29&s_stockitem=1&pagemax=40&getcnt=0&pagecnt=1

But what about the extra different forearm+hand parts in pic related? Where are they from? I can see hands listed but not the forearms.

Excuse my autism.

As I got Gourai and building the Stylet while deciding on Materia

Just what is the main differences between the current FAG, Machineca, and Megami Device bodies?

From I can tell, Machineca and Megami Device use the same prototype bodies that the future Shinkis will based on but the same can't be said for FAG: different chest style system and all.

Is FAG going to go as the Dodo bird as Shinkis comes along? Or are the 3 line (4 with Shinkis) going to be more or less compatible?
>>
>>5303870
Those are arms from Stylet and Gourai. All these girls have a common chassis type, just like Shinki share the MMS system.
>>
>>5303872
>Just what is the main differences between the current FAG, Machineca, and Megami Device bodies?
The shoulders, obviously.
>>
>>5303873
Those are arms from the original frame arms versions, not the FAGs. I seems that the architect is going to be extra customizable as I don't believe you can just slot them in on the other FAGs.
>>
>>5303889
That explains why i'm confused and why they look so huge.
It looks like her special elbow joints are what allows compatibility.

How good at painting to I need to be to truly enjoy Shinki?
>>
>>5304091
Needs more red. Maybe a bit of white.
>>
>>5304118

Shinkis don't need to be painted. FAGs need some but the fiddly bits are done for you.
>>
>>5304091

>>
>>5304142
the new improved shinkies will need paint
>>
>>5304091
I wonder how much blood was lost while making that
>>
>>5304147

>need paint
>improved

Shinkis didn't need to be "improved" but thanks for correcting me, I didn't actually know. I assumed the unpainted pictures that had surfaced were just prototypes.
>>
>>5304282
Model kits will always be superior because they can be improved and designed to one own's heart content. Just because youre a lazy American don't think a little extra work is bothersome just because you're a lazy master.
>>
>>5304290

>Model kits will always be superior

I disagree but then I collect figures and not model kits.

>Just because youre a lazy American

Nope. I just prefer buying a finished product rather than having to try not to fuck up painting, clipping, sanding etc a kit. I've never been good at that kind of thing.

>a little extra work is bothersome

Eh, toys are a hobby for me but the main part I like it taking pictures and posing them. If I wanted to collect model kits I'd collect Gunpla. Just not my jam.
>>
>>5304308
>toys are a hobby for me

But you just said you collect figures. What kind of master doesn't build things for their most precious than that is live?
>>
>>5304282
They are just prototypes. Koto is like bandai in that they use colored plastic. They will also have they eyes predone for you based on other koto releases. Most of the little color details will need painting though.
>>
>>5304318
just because parts are prepainted doesn't stop superior nippon jin senpai making customs these general has yet to even compare you. it might have been around for a long time but I have yet to see anyone come close to a high quality kitbash/scratchbuild
>>
>>5304315

I have been building things. A light box, a front room for my girls etc but I don't want to have to build the girls themselves.
>>
>>5304335
Sounds casual to be honest american-piggu. Go homuuu
>>
>>5304342

It is but again toys are a hobby for me so of course it's only going to be casual. Also, not American.
>>
>>5303857

>>
>>5304371
>Also, not American.
>doesn't like making things

with that attitude you might as well be.
>>
>>5304444

I don't mind making things but it is something I choose to do to add to my toy collecting hobby. It shouldn't be, at least in my opinion, an assumed part of collecting Shinkis or any other you line. Like I said, if I wanted to collect Gunpla I would but I don't.

Quite the opposite, I'm saying that they are two very different things and that I only have interest in one (Shinkis). Gunpla don't really interest me and I don't want the Shinki line to turn into model kits like them. If I wanted that I would just buy FAGs.

I have a shit camera, but I have Proxima Spinel. Her color scheme is way more fitting to a horse theme than the base colors. Proxima looks more like a race car driver while Spinel looks like a horse back rider. Plus, Spinel comes with everything Proxima does as well as an extra lance.

I'm building my first, a Stylet. The four face options come prepainted, nothimg else does but the plastic is color separated so it's not really an issue.

Personally I gave all the flesh bits except the head, neck, and the lower part of each upper arm a coat of german grey. Gives it a more power suit look instead of a girl in her underwear with plane bits strapped on.
>>
Can someone post a pic of Stylet with as little armor as possible?
The one thing stopping me from buying it is not knowing if I'll be able to give her cute clothes, though I'm fine with robot parts sticking out.
>>
>>5311066
I'll see what I can take off when I get home, but I glued most of it.

Do keep in mind they're releasing a blank chest piece >>5304507 and Materia and Architect bodies are both fairly naked >>5304484

If you're on the fence, I'd say preorder Architect or try and find a store still stocking Materia and if you love her, Stylet still isn't hard to find and I'm SURE they're re-releasing Gourai at some point.
>>
Also, forgot to ask. Just got my Stylet weapon kit in the mail, anything special I should keep in mind before starting it?
>>
>>5311066
The legs will be the only tricky bit. Most of the shoulder bulk comes from the blades, which can be detached, and if you need to you can also remove the spacer outright. The chestplate comes off easily, but the skirt is part of the body.

Gourai looks better without a skirt, she doesn't have all that nonsense going on around the waist. It'd probably be OK if you put clothes on her.

But as >>5311154 said wait for that gk for a blank chest piece (there's been some neat customs based on it) and Materia for blank articulated arms and legs. I can't wait to get those. It depends on the hair you want, but you might have to get a bit creative there.

I'm static.

I never really liked the skirt though omiting that piece leaves that hideous gap, and I wouldn't mind just having a piece to clip over the other gap in the chest. Personally, I want as many reminders of her being a robot as possible without them obstructing clothing.
I just want to dress her like best worst girl in pic related.

Were you the one who bought a copy? Thank you so much for your support! Wished we could have chatted more! But continuing where we left off, avoid black padding on glasses cases, there are some rare occasions where the black rubs off easily on some budget cases.

I don't only use glasses cases but deck boxes too from when I used to invest in expensive cardboard. It ultimately depends on the shinki size and whether or not you have fabric on them that'll fray easily with Velcro, in the case if you use a deckbox.

Radial cracks/stress like these are normally caused by

Depends on the cement and the plastic. Cement doesn't just melt everything.

"Mastah! A package arrived today. I took the liberty of unboxing it for you. You know this won't fit my color scheme, right?"
Yes, I know. It's for your new sister.
"S-sister?!"

Really stupid question but how do you do this effect?
>>
>>5313964

A-anyone?
Their SAL disclaimer is 2spooky btw.
>>
>>5314519
What's the disclaimer? Too lazy to open now since I should be studying, but do know that unregistered SAL packets are, by nature, not insured and you can't track them. Registered SAL is insured up to 6000 yen.
>>
>>5314578
The tone it's written in is really ominous. They make it sound like all SAL packages get lost.

I was going to go with EMS at first but the raise after putting a second kit was nearly the same as the order.
