I am not sure if this is the right forum, but I am looking for a dollhouse (kit, guide, pre-made) suitable for beginners to give as a present. I have plenty of time to construct it, and a budget of $200 or so just for the house. I appreciate any advice!

You'll probably want to go to a specialty forum where the users are nerds who are knowledgable about their hobby. This is just a dumping ground for shitposts and autism.
Hobby Lobby and Michaels(assuming you're in the US) both carry various dollhouses, both premade and assembly kits. Past that I have zero experience with them to say what brands or styles to look out for.
Miniatures.com is another option, and eBay/Amazon surely have listings as well.

I hope you can find what you're looking for OP. Have you tried the BJD general thread? That may be up your alley.
I like the fossil in your pic, is it yours?

That looks more like a trilobite than a person. We may be pretty primitive but we're not THAT primitive.

The BJD collectors aren't into that kind of stuff either, mostly because their dolls are just way too big for the usual dollhouse stuff,
I also think you should try special forums for dollhouse collectors and customizers, there people can help you better.
What kind of scale are you looking for by the way? And how big should the house be?
200$ can't be much depending on what you want and if furniture and such should be included.

Yeah, Shinki/FAGs are the closest to an 1/12 com we got on this board.

I don't want to live in a world where trilobites aren't posting anonymously about their collections of human action figures.
