Excited for this. Hope its accessory load out is nice. Like the long-ranged rifle.

Still hoping for a Mobile Worker too.

You know, it's really unlikely, but I think it'd be nice if the grunt Botune was a regular release. Be best for army building.

Regardless, looking forward to Barbados and the Dom

I mean, its not completely unlikey, seeing as how the Char's Zaku and Zaku II are both regular releases with the same mold.
But yeah, chances are slim.
>>
So I'm not entirely clear on this: Is the A.N.I.M.E. Gundam going to share maybe a few small parts with the old release? Because it looks like it has those disgusting mid-forearm rotating joints.

Thirding Nippon-Yasan. I've heard others complain about their customer support but honestly I've never had any complaints. The whole pay-your-preorders-right-now thing is apparently an issue on P-Bandai's part, not theirs, so it's not like they can entirely be blamed for it. Just sort of for only giving a week's warning.

Nippon-yasan preorders prices are normally low , but their shipping is high . Also should you run into any issues weather it's on your end or their end , you'll be out of luck because their customer service is worse than AmiAmi.
>>
>>5296201
man, I would really, REALLY love RD Muv Luv TSFs
>>
>>5296579

Shipping is a bit on the high end, sure. I've heard their customer service can be a nightmare, but I guess I'm lucky in that I haven't had a problem yet. Hell they were even willing to cancel a pre-order for me.
>>
Anyone here own the Fafner Mark Nicht? Thinking about buying one for Christmas and the price is no where near as bad as some anons on /m/ made out [35,000 yen which is about £185]
>>
>>5297530
Great figure for the most part. Way better articulation than you might expect. The main issue with it is that the wrist joints have been known to break when swapping hands the first few times if you aren't careful. After that they loosen up a bit and stop being stupidly tight.

The only other problems with it are the odd lack of a toe joint and that the wings spikes can have a tough time staying on sometimes.

Also the figure retailed for 9000. The price escalation on it is insane because of bandai's odd refusal to capitalize on demand for the Salvator Models. I'd think we'd get some "special colors" re-release with some different accessories.
>>
>>5297549
Thank you anon,

>bandai's odd refusal to capitalize on demand for the Salvator Models
They really don't seem to care about Fafner all that much, considering Exodus is airing right now I would have thought they'd be making some RD's from that.
>>
>>5297618
I'm more annoyed they didn't' re-release the Sein, that thing is expensive as fuck.

At least you can get the other non-exclusive models at retail price.

I was wondering are the Assault Kingdom figures any good?

I wasn't interested in them due to the poor sculpt and production quality? But are there some exceptional regular ones and how do the EX ones fair?

Hyakushiki is painted, but would Qubeley be pearl painted? How do you think the ZZ Gundam will fare?
>>
>>5300771

assault kingdom figures have great sculpts. atleast the later ones. They're fantastic for the scale, but feature a softer plastic in some spots.

Dunno what you're talking about.

Don't care about the others. Not yet at least. But gotta get that Dom. Looks like it just stepped out of the original show.
>>
>>5300406
I'm glad to see it does have a movable mono-eye. I was a bit concerned they wouldn't include that feature on the ANIME releases. Have there been any photo's of the Zaku's mono-eyes being movable too?

Still, I'm a little on the fence about this. The figure looks great, but it would've been nice if Bandai stretched the effect pieces out instead of packing them all in with Char's Zaku II. Seriously, the Dom has so little compared to the rest of this sub-line so far, and I really don't think it would've hurt much to include the bazooka and thruster effects with this figure. Or better yet, they should've made the bazooka effect exclusive to Dom since its' main weapon is a giant bazooka after all.
>>
>>5300958

The lack of effects parts is a bit of a let down. But the absence of a white-hot heat rod is glaring.

Dang, that looks so awesome!

>>5300958
Nothing indicating a moveable mono-eye on the Zaku IIs as of yet. It seems like a feature they would have already touted if the Zakus did have it, so I'm doubting whether or not it'll appear on the final figure. Would certainly be an odd omission though, considering the hardpoint Zaku II and the Gouf Custom both had moveable mono-eyes. Fingers crossed the final figure will happily surprise us.

>>5301344
Ka Signature RDs are unfortunately always web exclusives, so if you want to preorder you'll need to use a middleman like Nippon-Yasan. In exchange, you get a consistent 1/144 scale for the Ka Signature RDs, premium matte finishes to the figures, and a sheet of water-slide decals to go full Katoki on your RD if you choose to.

Good point, gotta make sure you buy at a price you think is fair first. Not only is it good money sense, but that way if you happen to find the same item for a cheaper price later on, you still paid what you felt the item was worth so it's no biggie (especially when it's an item you really like, as >>5301625 said!).

>>5301625
One thing I'm starting to do, is moving away from preordering exclusives at NY. I've found that every single exclusive I've preordered there has eventually showed up on Mandarake for a cheaper price (exceptions being the standard RD Nero and the AGP Banshee Girl, those suckers shot up in price like crazy!), and Mandarake has much better shipping rates than NY. If it's something I gotta have I'll still preorder, but otherwise I'll risk camping Mandarake.

Sorry to barge in your thread bros, but this didn't seem worth making its own thread for, and I figured some of you guys might know. Is NXEdgeStyle worth the money? I've not really liked the look of the ones released so far, but god help me, I actually think the Astray looks rad. And this is coming from a staunch Astray hater. I am a bit trouble though that it doesn't appear to be able to lift its legs up, like, at all, at least according to Nuu's review.

Basically, I have no experience with this line, is it worthwhile?
>>
>>5292408
This might sound kinda weird, but I think the A.N.I.M.E. releases look too...modern...and stable. I want them to look a bit more derpy, y'know? A little more goofy and oddly proportioned. I mean, I wanna go all-out on this shit--if it looks too similar to a modern interpretation of the MS, then what's the point even?
>>
>>5312587

Absolutely. The NXEdgestyle is more than fantastic at the price. Excellent articulation and paint apps, while some releases come with a fair amount of accessories, some not so much. They're like Super Robot War-styled SD figures with quality similar to Robot Damashii.

I own Destiny, Strike Freedom (and their respective expansion set), Mazinkaiser.

Soon to be ARF and Raiser.
>>
>>5312587

And, the skirts are made of a softer plastic. More than likely capable of moving it's legs above the skirt, so no worries there.

You're only supposed to have one if each mobile suit. It's nice that you want to re-create the black triple stars or whatever but these are meant to be scale replica models of real life fighting machines. They belong in a museum not in your children's playpen where you smash them together and make noises with your 3 doms and barbaratos. So, like I said you're only allowed to buy one of each Robot Damashii for your military arms and armors collection.

From Code Geass, the Lancelot or Guren Mk 2 would be good, basic designs to show what the line can do. The Gundam Unicorn/Banshee units are very good examples from the Gundam franchise. Just about anything from the Wing series would also be a good choice.
>>
>>5313654

What kinda robot you want? Aura Battler? Gundam? Heavy metal? Other...?

Billbine and Drumlo are by far my favorites, but your mileage will vary drastically, and you, since you are asking this question, you probably don't even know how to check your oil levels yet, you know? Not meant as a putdown, but you probably don't quite know what you like in a robot toy.

>>5313654
I honestly got into the RD line, with the GN Flag and OO units that would never get models. I've been ever since.

That being said, the early OO figures have not aged that well.

If you're looking for recommendations I'd recommend the Unicorn Gundam Destroy mode (the later versions) or Sinanju (animation edition). They come with loads'n'loads of accessories and the parts aren't finicky. Along with looking great (especially the Sinanju) and being very poseable.

Know if you want something different yet fun to mess around with I'd recommend the Alexander, it also has loads'n'loads of parts and is a nice looking fig with crazy poseability.

Even with these so called gimmick, do you all think is it worth it for retail price?

Or should I just wait for discounted price?
>>
>>5314601

Honestly unless your REALLy want it, it's not worth preordering/getting as its released as most RD tend to linger around and go on sale.

This

It's totally up to you. If you like the suit that much, go for it. It's whether or not it's worht it to you.

I'm picking up the barbatos for $40 from hlj because honestly, that's a cheaper RD for me. shrug

Perfect aside from the lack of a thigh-swivel. Price is a little high, but the paint apps are great.

I've actually never had an issue with the face and I think it looks fine, but I'm not familiar enough with Freedom's design to pick up on the design's nuances. I've never re-watched SEED (only saw it as it aired) nor did I watch the HD remaster. So the face looks like Freedom to me, but if someone familiar with the design says it's inaccurate, I can certainly understand why they'd be unhappy with it.

As an addendum, if you're able to get past your qualms with Freedom's face, the RD does a wonderful job with the wings and the plastic they used for the main body looks great in-hand, with a slight grey tinge to it that seemingly gives it a matte finish.

>>5315732
For overseas retailers, there's the Big 3 which would be:

http://hlj.com/
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/
http://www.amiami.com/

For exclusives, you can either preorder at:

http://www.nippon-yasan.com/

Or pick up regular and exclusive RDs second-hand at Mandarake (search term ROBOT魂 will help you get started browsing):

http://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/

Also, if you've got a local comic store or hobby shop, maybe drop in and see if they can order RDs through domestic distributors for you. The best and easiest way to order RDs is usually going to be ordering from one of the above sites, but you may get hit with custom fees on packages from Japan (not entirely familiar with how you guys up North deal with customs fees, here in the US we never have customs fees, heh).

Haven't picked up any RDs since the new X-2.

Really disappointed at the accessories that came with it compared to the old one. And then Bandai compounds it with no option pack.

Also frustrated the Titans MK-II was an exclusive, I can't justify those prices.

Might pick up the ANIME Zaku since I'm a sucker for em, though unlike most I would have preferred an F2 or one of the more 'realistic' ones since the old RD Zaku is so derpy.

A realistic Zaku would be my preference as well (I'd like to see the FZ model myself, both because I love the design and because it could mean more 0080 RDs!), but the ANIME Zaku looks like a great figure on its own so I'll be picking one up. Big order guy again, this arrived the other day.

Susanowo is okay, but a bit disappointing. It's age shows. But, since I liked Graham, had to get it.

The Falke is nice, but the Codal i is superb.

But the real highlights were Unit 01 and 02. These two are fucking fantastic. The articulation is great. I think I'd rate the Evas now as some of my absolute favorite RDs. And now I'll need to get Units 00 and 03.
Now, why the hell is Bandai not continuing this line? I'd love if they did either more Rebuild Evas like Units 04, 05, 06, 08 and 13, or the TV versions of the Evas. I need more RDs of this quality.

Following there, really like Enryugo. Sculpt is great, and had an easier time setting this up compared to Villkiss. Finally got around to switching to robot mode as well.
Still have yet to watch Cross Ange, but I really love how the RDs for these mecha look.
>>
Does any one here have the InAction Offshoot! Knightmare frames?

>>

I have all the CG KMF RDs and many of the In Action! Offshoots.

All, while a little smaller, scale well with the KMF RDs. Those that have RDs like Guren and Lancelot are better as RD, but the ones that don't are acceptable substitutes.

The Gloucesters are good.

Isn't the Drumlo fantastic?

My Leprechaun finally arrived today. About a week and a half longer than SAL usually takes for me.

But SO damn worth it. Loving this pumpkin spice mech. All the joints are so damn solid. Best Aura Battler yet for holding a pose. I can shake the thing and nothing budges. Sleek and awesome, and taller than I expected; taller than the Zwarth.

Virunvee is pretty rare these days, but don't use eBay if you can avoid it. Most prices on there are jacked up even higher than usual. If I remember right, you should be able to score a Virunvee for somewhere between $65 and $85 shipped. I've been thinking about getting one myself, so I check sites like Amazon and Mandarake every now and then to see what the prices are like.

That's exactly what happened.

I was planning to resolve the situation on their site, and if they resolved it before the 20 days to escalate a claim were up, I'd cancel the claim.... but then I saw the e-mail.

Now, I won't tell you guys to stop ordering from HLJ, but if you, check on your order every few minutes just in case they duplicate it.

Yeah, I fucking love the Evas. I had gone with Revoltech for a long time since its the only Eva toyline to cover every Unit. Unsurprisingly, the RDs blow them out of the water.

>And hearing your praise, I think I'll need to eventually pick up Enryugo myself.
I know you liked Villkiss monitor anon, so I'm sure you'll like Enryugo as well. It does have the similar problem of a couple parts can come off a little too easily like the blade on the shoulder, but I'd say its an overall improvement over Villkiss. Here you go:

http://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1034042736&ref=doc

If you've never ordered off Mandarake before, it's pretty much like ordering from any other online import retailer. Most of their items are second-hand (though there's plenty of brand new stuff too if that's your preference, just considerably cheaper to buy used when you can), but Mandarake is very careful to inspect their products and it's pretty much guaranteed to be like-new. Their FAQ will probably be able to answer any questions you may have, but feel free to ask if you still have questions!

Got my first Drumlo, also my first non gundam RD. Really impressed with it and really want Todd's to go with it and probably a second normal one. They are so nice and chunky. We'll see how this year's xmas bonus is.
>>
My first (and so far only) RD was Masurao a few years ago. It really upset me for a number of reasons. The joints were floppy and it was prone to parts leprosy as well as feeling really fragile. From what I've heard, the 00 RDs, being really early releases, were prone to QC issues and newer figures are far, far better?

I want to give the line a second chance. I'm eyeing a few Gundam series figures, particularly Turn A and Tallgeese. I might also wait for Barbatos, since that design just gets me a certain kind of way.
>>
>>5334097
I really depends on the figure. 00 7 Swords and the GN-Xes, for example, are very solid despite being early releases. Turn A is great too (though it uses a weird ball joint system) as is the Tallgeese I (which improves on the engineering of II and III).

So yeah, it pays to do your research before buying, watch some youtube videos.

Get the Tallgeese. Solid RD release.

Solid releases from 00 that I have:

00 QanT
00 7 Swords
Exia

I was particularly impressed with the QanT and the 7 swords (it can hold the big sword really well!). The Exia is good but when you put all of it's swords on things tend to bump into each other.

I don't have the Turn A but I have only heard good stuff about it.
>>
>>5334097

Tallgeese is dead solid. Turn A is pretty good too.
>>
So... is there a non-frightening way to remove the top head piece off of the Kapool? I'm looking at it and just don't see how I could take the chance on it without it snapping.

>>5334097
I whole heartedly recommend Tallgeese, Turn A, any of the Leos, the original Wing, and most of all I would especially recommend the Aries. To me the Aries is that great mix of quality, low price, and nice little surprises. It's the sort of thing where you go "oh, wow!" as you fiddle around with it and see all the hidden features. True hand candy.
>>
>>5334097
Do you want a boner? If so, get the Tallgeese.
>>
Does anyone here have the Byakuen? Is it worth picking up?

Is the 7-arms attachment too heavy for the arm? Does it make it sag?

I have seen some picture reviews but I am looking for more info on it before making a decision.
>>
>>5336892
I do. I like Code Geas and the spin-offs so it was for me.

Nope. Arm is fine. Have never had any issues with it.

As for any other details, do you have the newer Guren Mk-II RD? The majority of the mold is the same as that one, with the changes, so you can get an idea of to expect from that.
>>
i keep seeing scepter purple being sold cheap, is he no good?
>>
>>5337228
I think a lot of people just aren't a fan of the design, or, moreso the color. The tan exclusive Scepter is cooler (I own that version), but the figure itself is great and I'm sure you'd be satisfied with it, especially for it's price.
>>
>>5337228
I had the purple version. Not a fan of toys that cant hold up their own weapons.
>>
>>5337239
I didn't have many problems with my purple Scepter holding up its big goofy crab arm things. I did reinforce the joints in the arms, from shoulder to elbow, to make sure that it won't have any problems doing so for a nice long time though.

It's not hard, just a bit of clear nail polish on the balls, let dry for a few minutes, reattach joints together. Did the same for the tan Scepter since its shield and minigun are just as cumbersome and heavy.
>>
>>5336921
Thanks for the reply!

No, I do not have the Guren MK-II. I do hear it is a very solid RD.

Could you please give me your take on the Guren/Byakuen mold?

I just happen to like the design of the Byakuen more than the Guren--although I still think the Guren is a great design, so if I can get it for dirt cheap, I probably will.
>>
>>5327341
How much is an RD jegan nowadays? Havn't collected any gundam RDs but Im going to Japan soon so I want to collect some Jegan merch.
>>
>>5337380
Well, if you have the old Code Geass KMFs, I can tell you it's an overall improvement over the general Black Knights KMF parts, which the Zangetsu/Akatsuki/Gekka mold had a little trouble standing on their own. Legs are much better.
Overall improvement on everything else.

I like the Code Geass mecha though so I might be a little biased though.

Asking this here because NXEdge Style is still such a small and niche line that it doesn't seem worth its own thread.

Are the stands supposed to suck this fucking bad? As far as I can tell, the stand arm doesn't have any sort of swiveling movement like a standard Tamashii Stage or Figma stand--it's set at hard angles (the peg is an octagon) so you need to wiggle the peg out and reposition it manually every single time you want to adjust the position. Not to mention, they have the same problem as Revolver joints--only a few preset angles you can use. Am I doing something really wrong here, or is the stand supposed to be this inconvenient?
>>
>>5337866

That inconvenient

It's not that hard of a concept, you just need to get used to it. I don't mind it since the price tag for these are so low. (depending on the MS, astray was like $16 from hlj) You can use a tamashii stage arm alternatively.
>>
>>5337866
Those stands do their jobs and more . The design is simple and doesn't required more assembly time or screws. And due to the requirements of removing to adjust the angle , it can now support more weight when needed and the adjustments will stay until you want to change them . For a $15 desk toy , these stands are more than enough .

just recieved my nxedge astray as well
my only complaint is the non existant forward hips articulations, hurts the posing alot
>>
>>5338383

You can move the legs forward by pushing the thighs against the skirt. It won't hurt the plastic.

All next-edge are like this.

I finally got my hands on this bad boy to complete the set, and it's got the problem where the shoulder fins are super loose and pop off all the time. Is there a fix for this? Normally I'd try pledge or something but it just seems like there's actually not enough socket for the balljoint in the first place.
>>
>>5334152
Can we get some more pics of the clear exia?
>>
>>5337866

I've been wanting to get one of these. I can't decide between Wing Zero Custom and Genesic GaoGaiGar, though. GGG looks like he'd be kind of impossible to pose what with all the shit attached to his back.

I'm also considering just waiting for Barbatos and/or Kimaris, whenever those come out.

How many Zakus you're going to get?
>>
>>5330985
It's kinda two sides of the same coin. The Full Cloth is a type equipment for the Crossbone Gundam, the RD of which is the first RD Crossbone to use the new Full Action body type. The Full Action body is an all new sculpt, and was also used for the new X-2 and X-1 Kai.

Nice, grats on the Drumlo! Definitely pick up Todd's if you can, it's fantastic.

>>5336746
Hah! Well said, haha.

>>5337399
I believe Mandarake tends to list it at around 7000JPY, sometimes going as high as 9000JPY.

>>5338467
Hmm, shoulder fins are nice and tight on mine, but when I get the chance this weekend, I'll take a close look at my Eva 01 and see if I have any suggestions.

How are the quality of these figures compared to HG and MG gunpla?
And are these kits you have to put together like those and paint yourself?
I wanted a nice God and Master Gundam set that didn't require any painting because I'd probably butcher it and was led to the damashii figures
Sorry if these are dumb questions.
And what would you guys recommend I buy?
>>
>>5345518
>And are these kits you have to put together like those and paint yourself?

You said yourself that they're figures. What do you think?
>>
>>5345518
robot damshes are already assembled and painted, but you can upgrade them with paint like antyhing else if you got skills.

They're 144 size so about 5 inches, and vayr from real durable to near hgigh grade kit level.

Talllgeese is tits.

>>5345575
Sorry new to all this I guess that should have given it away

Master, God,and Shining are all excellent Damashii releases. There's also expansion part sets that are reasonably priced that are cool. Fuunsaiki was released awhile back, but was kind of disappointing.
Hyper mode Master and God are going to be released soon. Master Asia figuarts is shelf warming hard do he's nice and cheap if you're interested
>>
>>5345902
That's good to know thanks. Is their Epyon and good do you know?
And I've been looking at comparisons and is it safe to say their quality is in between their HG and MG counterparts? For their price they seem like a really good deal.

Speaking of this, mandarake just put an MSIA shining gundam. I'd get it but I'm out of cash currently and I already have the model waiting to be built, so just thought I'd pop in and let you guys know. No idea if the price is good or not, though.
>>
>>5346661
Oh right, and some guy on ebay has really cheap dark army figures for about 13 dollars, including shipping, so I'd check that out too for any G Gundam fans. I personally wanted to buy all of them to have an army to go with my devil gundams, but again, no money.
>>
How is the quality of the Tallgeese II and III? They look really damn nice but I can't find any for a good price. Anyone know where the cheapest are?

This is pretty true but it's worlds better than the GFF one and that's all you can ask for. It's an obscure suit so it's lucky it even exists.

to the man looking for the MSIA BYG ZAM there's one in a set on ebay currently.

The Gundam Wing RD line is pretty great across the board, be it grunts like the Leo or character specific suits like the Epyon, it's all good!

RDs have a good solid feel to them that gives them, and because most of their parts are solid plastic they can have a decent weight to them for their size. I don't think you can really compare the quality of RDs to gunpla, because they're two different things. HGs and MGs are model kits and they're very good at that, while RDs are more like action figures and they're very good at that. RDs are ready to play with right out of the box and usually look pretty darn good while doing it, but with gunpla you can make something that looks way better if you're willing to put in the work.

Just two different ways of enjoying mecha. I'd definitely recommend picking up an RD if they've got you interested though, just to see if it's what you're looking for. Master Gundam is only like 30 bucks on Amazon, and you can pick up a Leo for even less.

>>5347031
All the Geese are good RDs. Tallgeese II was a web exclusive though, and it goes for a hefty price on the secondary market. Tallgeese III was a regular retail release, but it's been out of production for a while and again, may be a bit pricey to get at this time. Mandarake is probably going to be your best option for finding either one.

>>5347527
Awesome shot! Did you apply the waterslide decals, or is that the special marking version?

Man, I rearranged my Unicorn RD's onto one shelf today, and I just had to share it. Sorry for the phone-quality pic.

>>5342560
Oh thank god, I was beginning to worry they left this feature out. I'm still not sure if I wanna double-dip on the Zaku II since I own the old release, but this is pretty tempting. After I get the A.N.I.M.E. Gundam I'll decide if I want this version.

>>5347527
I'm not the biggest fan of the design, but I love every time I see pics of this RD. It always looks so damn big!
>>
>>5349530

Not bad but I think it'd work better if you either raised the Bellpepper up higher or had her stand on the ground in a more neutral pose with Unicorn in the center behind her and raised higher on some risers and the stand. It looks too jammed together overall. Need better spacing and clearer sightlines of each figure.
>>
>>5349543
Thanks, I still need to invest in some risers, as I know that would help in seeing each figure more. I had to make space though to allow some room for my Dunbine and Tod's Drumlo on the shelf above them, so I don't mind this as is for now. I would probably keep this shelf mostly the same but raise Kshatriya and Banshee up a bit to help see them better, and maybe fiddle with the shield funnels to get them out of the way a bit more. Sinanju also desperately needs his own stand.
