Doesn't that just press on the phone's button's underneath? also that was made for a specific model, the pipboy can put all kinds of garbage in it, so it would be very hard to match up the buttons with the phone. Also also the companion app is touch screen so I can't see how they could easily implement buttons to affect it.

It's a 60 dollar toy replica. Yes it's plastic, has a couple of metal pieces, paint job is like not there as it's mostly molded plastic with stickers.

I love mine, it's go weight to it, it looks great with the phone app running. If I have time i'd repaint it and maybe replace the knobs with something sturdier than the plastic, but it's just a fun prop.

I didn't get the pip-boy myself, I kinda want it but not enough to consider buying it. If you want a Pip-boy replica this one seems pretty great. The only knock against it is that it is unpainted, so if I would have gotten it myself I'd try to give it some paint.
I see some people think it's too expensive and you could commission someone to make one for the same price. You people clearly have no clue. To commission a prop-maker is very costly affair, costing thousands of dollars for a finished piece. There is a guy that makes a 3D printed version, but even that is close to $100 and is an unfinished kit and frankly looks crap with all the print lines on it.
I see people complain it's a glorified phone case. Yes this has no other functionality, of course it doesn't, it's a prop. Most props, from films particularly (and also commissioned props) do not have any of the functionality seen in the film, or if it does they have multiple copies of the prop for every function it appears to have in the film. Did you expect there to be a built in screen and a fully functioning computer? For $60?
Is it a lot for some plasticy crap? Depends on if you want a pip-boy replica or not. If yes, then it's the best you can get regardless of price, and for $60 I really don't see how they could have made it much better. If not, then of course to you it's expensive plastic junk.

I preordered one mainly because of the hype. I really never cared for Fallout, but I own the CE for 3 and New Vegas and felt the need to complete a set. I thought about selling it to a co-worker, but they never have any money. So eventually I got tired and just opened it to play the game a bit. Haven't touched the Pip Boy as I have a Note. Friend of mine was unable to finish both New Vegas and 3 because of bugs that made it unable to finish quests, incl. the main one for NV.
In 3 he was trapped in the UFO because a cutscene was never triggered and thus he was unable to get to the main area.
On PC I can just fix that with a bit of work, but console?
Skyrim was the same for me, I had several quests that I had to fix because of the weirdest shit (characters falling out of the map, dialogue loops, items needed not being spawned etc).
