Oh look, it's time for another "Warehouse full of shit we can't sell" sale.
http://www.hlj.com/autumn-sale-2015
>>
>>5272961
Super Best Den-O belt for 1800 yen only lasted like an hour. That was nuts.

Also that big Ultraman gorgon monster vinyl for 600 yen is kinda neat.
>>
Shockingly, they actually had something I wanted this time. I got Figuarts Kamen Rider ZO and Kinnikuman.
>>
>>5272961
Most of the drive figures (not the figuarts) are on sale
And saw some jojo SAS for sale
>>
>>5272961
So I placed my order but haven't received a confirmation email and also my account overview doesn't show me having any orders in processing. Is that normal?
>>
>>5273002
they're probably swamped with the sale, have some patience you autistic sonnuvabitch
>>
>>5273011
Well I was mostly concerned because initially it wouldn't let me pick a shipping option and things seemed to be glitching out a lot.
>>
>>5273016
you'll have to wait a little bit for the emails, last sale it took a few hours for mine to show up
>>
Dang, if I wasn't extremely poor, I'd grab a Kinnikuman SHF. But then again... I'd only want one to go with Ramenman SHF and that's clearly never going to happen, so never mind.
>>
nice I just snagged kinnikuman and four of the ring corners
>>
There's a bunch of stuff I want but not for prices i'm willing to pay.

I'm sure if we hold out now, HLJ will have one of their classic fire sales with some of the Figuarts and RDs on sale going for under 1k.

Shit, just by glancing over the sale items, I can already cherry pick ones that have sold for lower in previous HLJ sales. Master Asia, Master Gundam and Megazarak to name a few.
>>
>>5272961
Only good thing to come out of this is that cute drawing of Scott-san.
>>
No really amazing deals, but I'm happy. I had wanted to get figuarts Joker for a while, so this was an incentive. And my buddy liked the look of the figma Ninja Slayer so that'll be a nice christmas present for him.
>>
Actually got something this time. Not as bad as most of their other sales.
>>
What's the oldest thing you've seen in the sale? There's a Nadesico sticker from 2000 for 496 yen.

Nice. Grabbed a Joker to go with my Batman, which is still in the box. Also nabbed Goku :)

This HG Guncannon from 1994
>>
>>5273326

Link? And is there anything else on sale like this?
>>
>>5273450
That's not an hg, and its not from the 90s. Thats the original 1/144 guncannon from the very early 80s.
>>
I'm considering the Figuarts Kinnikuman, will probably pass.
>>

Don't say I never did anything for you.
>>
Bah I just shipped an order from HLJ last night before I knew of this sale so I didn't buy much. I did get a Cyan Dog though. It's listed as 1300, originally 3800 so it seems like a good deal.
https://www.hlj.com/product/KBYKP-291/Sci

I was tempted to buy this Medabee that's for sale but I wasn't really a fan of this season so fuck that.

Bandai reprints old kits all the time.
>>
The only thing that interested me is the 1/144 Shield Liger. Is it any good?
>>
I got Figuarts Yoshi. Sale price sits nicely below customs taxes limit.

>>

Seems cool. Just be aware that it is very small.

>>
>>5273458
Wow I feel like a fool for saying it was an HG. Just saw 1/144 and assumed so. Also for the date, I was just looking at the release date that HLJ says. Either way, still is pretty old
>>
I bought one of the Sailor Moon lunch totes for my mom (the apparel section is pretty solid) and a Pure Neemo doll for myself. This sale has been slightly better than previous ones at least.

Yep, expect it to be molded in one color and require paint and glue.

Still though, the original kits have a sort of charm to them.
>>
Haven't bought anything from a hlj sale in a while, but does it take awhile to get your payment notification during sales?
>>
>>5273865
yes
>>
Is Figuarts Yoshi worth it or should I just grab the World of Nintendo version?
>>
>>5273326
Yeah I picked up two, as I was meaning to get around to buying the ex display stages for my gold saints, but this ends up way cheaper.

It's also nice as the 6 platforms can be split up.

The nicest thing about this sale was that I found out a lot of new to me nice brands (And then ordered the models I liked from amiami at a lower price.)
>>
>>5274031
If you've already got an order going with HLJ, I'd toss the Figuarts in, but if you'd be shipping him on his own and the Jakks Yoshi is still on shelves in your area, you may as well just go with that instead. The Figuarts is better, but not $35 better.
>>
My five years old nephew is crazy about Yoshi, would it be a good idea to get him the figuarts for christmas? I don't know if it's sturdy enough for a kid.
>>
>>5274290
>SHF Sakura, the nintendos...damn, i always thought these would be rare eventually. I just don't know the japanese market...
They still might be. Things like the pokemon d-arts went on sale once upon a time. If something isn't selling well and then disappears it can get a big price bump when people are looking for it later and there's not many floating around out there.

Though I think there's a large amount of the Mario figures produced and Sakura also has the figma so she's not the only option for the characters. So yeah, those ones might not turn out to be valuable.
>>
>>5274353
Figuarts are typically not for kids.
>>
>>5274353
Ehh, it's not Jakks sturdy. It depends on the kid I suppose. It's obviously not meant for being tossed around, but it's not exactly fragile. The bigger issue might be all the small pieces for part-swapping that can get lost.
>>
>>5274361
I know but the Mario ones looks made for a larger audience than the others Figuarts. Maybe I'm wrong.

>>5274362
He's already used to be "gentle" with some his more fragile toys and has a box to keep his smaller accessories so I think he will be good.

Thanks for the answers, guys.
>>
>>5274383
I'd say you might be able to have a go at it then. If a frame of reference helps at all, it seems like it would be less fragile than some toys I had when I was young like Beast Wars and Mcfarlane figures. But yeah, there's always the Jakks if you want to play it safe.
>>
>>5274393
Jakks products are not easily available in my country (in any case in my region), except for the Mario micros and he already has a lot of them.
As you say, I think I'll have a go at the Figuarts.
Thanks again.
>>
i'm tempted to get SRC gaofighgar and figuarts kamen rider ZO, any pro-cons about them?
>>
>>5274429
Don't know about the SRC, but ZO is a really good and solid Figuart for someone that doesn't get a lot of Figuarts.

He has great articulation, detail, and paint. Plus he comes with an angry face, kung fu hands and a pet giant grasshopper.

I'd say he's definitely worth the price he's going for right now.
>>
>>5274429

I've been waiting on a good deal on Gaofaigar, but they're also running a sale on SOC Goldymarg and I need that more.
>>
>>5273326
Thanks! Totally grabbed that.
>>
>>5274383
Give him the best toy while he's still young i guess. always wondered what its like for a kid to own the best toy in the world, but as time goes by, it still is and he still has it in great condition
>>
>>5273326
is this better for 3" or 6" figures?
>>
>>5274106
Indeed, I just wish I could afford more of them.
>>5274608
Hope you enjoy it, it's a fun set.
>>5274739
Either, it's that generic. That said, the steps are largely ornamental for both, they're very shallow.

Pic related from early this year, that's Jakks Pacific's World of Nintendo Link, who's approximately 1/18 scale.

>>5274764
how big of a box did that come in? I don't want to jack up my shipping next month just the get some steps.
>>
>>5274292
It's $26 bro. Unless you're including shipping? But I wouldn't know about that, I'm a private warehouse type of guy.
>>
>>5273326
Will they ban you if you buy more than 1?
>>
>>5275077
why? they want them gone, that is the point of these sales.
>>
>>5275077
It isn't 1 per customer during sales. Well I bought and shipped two, so I don't think it is.
>>
>>5275015
It's pretty big. There's a reason it costs like 1700 yen just for SAL.
>>5275077
Worst they'd do, I assume, is cancel one of your orders and refund you the difference.
>>
Got 2 statues, the twins from Rozen Maiden, since they are 1:10 and essentially are figma sized. [spoiler] ;_; [/nospoilers]

That is literally the definition of a store having a big liquidation sale
>>
If they're having a sale now what's going to be left to put on sale for a Black Friday sale?
>>
>>5275214
fuck that then
>>
>>5275077
I've bought 4 and I'm fine so far.

I think it's only limit one per customer if it actually says that when it's in your cart, though you still need to order them one at a time.
>>
Seeing Figuarts Zero Yuki marked down to 2500, with no release dates for the others, has made me realize we'll probably never see the rest of the Y2199 line, the same as the Banpresto set and the Ichiban Kuji set.

>>5273483
I had one of these. Just a heads up to anyone getting this for their 1/12-ish scale figures (figma, SHF, etc.), it's actually out of scale. They're pretty small, more towards for 1/16 or 1/18 scale. They're heavy, so shipping sucks. That's why these shelf-warmed for a looooong time, they've been on sale many times now, still can't clear them.
>>
So I'm tryin to place an order and it just seems like the Cart system isn't working at all. Nothing I try to add actually ends up in the cart, and I'm not just adding sale items either.

I know their systems have been getting hammered...but this just don't seem right.
>>
>>5273326
This'll look great with my Mazinger chogokins
>>
>>5276940
Are figmas too big for the stage or too small? Your post mentions it being small but if I'm not mistaken this stage should work with gold saint figures that are bigger than figma, 1/9 scale
>>
>>5277427
Think of it this way, each of those platforms is just big enough for one figure to stand on.

>>5274764 also gives somewhat of an idea of the size.
>>
>>5277427
Link is about 4" tall, and the skeletons seem to be wearing Imaginext Armor, which are designed for like 3" tall figures.

While the stage can display a good 6 figures, it's no where near to scale for anything above 3"ish tall. The steps are far too tiny for even a 5" Figma to use. That said, the steps are the only thing that really throw it's scale off so if it doesn't bother you then it's really not an issue.

But long story short, this stage is incredibly underscaled for the figures it's designed for.

To put into perspective, see pic. Those Saint figures are roughly 1/12-ish scale. So yes, the diorama is under-sized.
>>
>>5277427
saint figures 1/9 scale my ass. wtf did you get that number? they're more like 1/12
>>
Should I get the Z.O.E. Dolores Limited Model
I liked the show, but don't have model kits.
>>
>>5277235
Out of curiosity, did you leave the items open in tabs for a long time before adding them? I've noticed that HLJ has this odd quirk where if you leave an item's page open for a long time, it will not add anything to the cart. Refresh the item page and it should work.
>>
>>5277750
That's exactly what it was, but I had to completely close the window and reopen it to get it to work. Managed to get my order in but in the end the only thing I grabbed from the sale was the Myth Cloth stage. Scale be damned, it'll look great with my growing army of skeletons.
>>
>>5275087
They don't want one flea market seller to buy up all the loss leaders, because then nobody else will buy all the $5 waifu stickers from Y2K as order toppers.

>To put into perspective, see pic. Those Saint figures are roughly 1/12-ish scale. So yes, the diorama is under-sized.
Hmm. That kinda killed any interest I had. A friend was ordering some stuff and almost had him grab me one. Geez. That was over priced to begin with. Might be good for 1:18 figs like >>5274764 , but dunno how much I have at that scale that would fit.
>>
>>5277533
Misinformation I assume. I only have one seiya figure and it's much bigger than the average figma (22 cm), when I asked for its scale an anon replied it's 1/9.

>>5277523
Looks pretty bad with all of them like that, I'm going to pass.
>>
>>5276909
Really? I just had my order of two of them shipped. How do you know your account is suspended?
>>
>>5276909
it's a good thing I reduced the kinnikuman ring corner stages from 4 to 2 then...
>>
>>5276909
Yeah they got really up tight about the limitation. I was abusing their checkout system ordering multiple figuarts or gunpla (who limits gunpla??) but they said no, so I stooped, and used other sites if I wanted more.

I don't know why they can't just fix their system so you are are actually incapable of doing so.

Seems like more trouble suspending someone each time.
