>>
>>5267488
Looks great anon! With all the stuff it doesn't seem too wide. Any idea how you'll do reigns?
>>
>>5267491
I've seen it sold with the recent rabbit polybag, that one with the new, smaller rabbit - seems like an ok deal. Friends is actually probably the best out of the magazines - Ninjago is ok but imo mostly when you get armybuilder badguys, Chima isn't my cup of tea, Elves is too pricey for what you get and Star Wars is laughable, even for people who like the franchise.
>>
>>5267491
I wanted it but then...
>19,99

But if I find one with rabbit i might get it.
>>
>>5267562
[toyspoiler]How desperate are you for rabbits? Because I have few small ones and one big one on my BL.[/toyspoiler]
>>
>>5267562
The fountain is 12,99 PLN at Tesco (if yours carries the polybags, that it, some apparently don't or only ever had the ninjaog cultist mech) and around 15 at independent retailers. I don't think most of the other options are worth it (the only ones besides the rabbit I've seen were fairly generic and lacking any neat pieces, which probably explains why I've skipped their respective issues in the past) but for the rabbit it's definitely worth it.

It's a better deal than the other more expensive than usual 10 pln magazines, though, that's for sure.
>>
Polish TRUs seem to have series 12 and 13 blindbags on sale, 10 zł a pop instead of the usual 15. Mine didn't have much interesting stuff left at this point (I did manage to get a single goblin and, oddly enough, a wiener man, I've thought I'll never find one; there was a single spooky girl left too), sadly.

It's funny how they ran out of Halloween blindbags long before these, too, even though Halloween not only isn't a thing in Poland but is also often condemended by certain kinds of conservative nutjobs.
>>
>>5267570
I already have glorious crystal heart and I'm no fan of the hairpiece used for the minidoll.
I think I will keep my money for NEXO.
>>
>>5267570
Why are those considered a good deal? Price per brick amounts to about 40gr, creator sets (and bricklink) are cheaper I think. Please explain, I want to understand what am I missing.

>>5267575

Accessories and animals in case of Friends, armybuilder figures in case of Chima and Ninjago? I don't think it applies to these magazines anywhere outside of slavlands where they are like 2-3 times as expensive, though.

So I've finally decided to start sorting my parts. What would you guys say the best way to sort them is, and how many bins do you think I'll need?

First by shape and only then by colors.

Also, make sure to put all the printed pieces in a separate place early on as otherwise you'll risk damaging them.

Okay so I wanted to try making more Marvel characters.
I was thinking I could make this guy with this blocky design because it'd be something new, but I want to hear your opinion, how hard do you think it would be to make him with decent detail and without him being oversized? (Like just a bit taller than a bigfig)
>>
>>5267765
It's put to good use in the Orient Expedition "final set", if you consider 2003 recent.
>>
>>5268067
Making bots that are about the same size or slightly larger than a minifig is fucking tough. Look at all the SW prequel droids LEGO makes. They're either oversized or LEGO had to design special parts.
>>
>>5268067

It will be hard but interesting
>>
>>5268070
It was in that short-lived horror line around the same time too.

Also, Orient Expedition > Adventures. One of the very few worthwile early 2000s themes and probably one of the most underrated ones overall.

Orient Expedition was Adventures, and a good way to end the theme at that. I'd say Egypt and Orient Expedition were the two best subthemes. Jungle and Dino Island were less impressive.

Actually, yeah, now that I see it better he looks taller.
Still shouldn't be that much bigger than a bigfig (like that one stupidly oversized Hulkbuster)

Because the armor was made for space travel originally or something like that.
Apparently he gets a paint job later, but still not fully crimson.

>>
>>5268043
Too small, she'd have to be brick-built.
>>
>>5268089
Yup, exactly. Dino has an ok premise and I really like the stegosaurus and the two bad guys who only showed up there, but the sets were largely subpar in comparision to rest of the subthemes and only the base was truly worth it imo.

OE really did the trick for me thanks to mixing the original Adventures charm with really unique new ideas and great, diverse builds, if I had to pick one old theme to reboot, it'd be either that or Fabuland. Egypt was great too but it got a good enough tribute in form of (also quite underrated) Pharaoh's Quest.
>>
>>5268117
I'd say the Island Hopper was the most interesting set from Dino Island, but I suppose it is a matter of taste.
My biggest Lego regret is not buying more of Orient Expedition, I was just beginning to earn my own money back then
>>
>>5268106
It's tough, the MRA gets triggered so easily. Last year he went off on me because I said I was looking forward to the Governor's Daughter minifig in PIrates III.
>>
>>5268125
>My biggest Lego regret is not buying more of Orient Expedition, I was just beginning to earn my own money back then

Same here. Not getting enough OE and the Studios horror line are my two main regrets. I really need to track down the junk ship and mad scientist lab some day - I'm glad I've managed to get the maharaja's palace back then.

I have to admit I found the Tibet subtheme to be a bit boring in comparision to India and China, it was quite obviously meant to just be filler.

Most people here use LDD; some of the rest use some other program I don't remember the name of.
>>
>>5268268
Like right now, it updated but I can't get outlines on the bricks(which makes it easier to see). Before it updated it'd crash 50% of the time when I tried to save a new file.
>>
>>5268268
Occasional crashes, save often but that's a given.
Limited brick and color selection
Build mode with colors intended to exist still has bricks that don't exist
Can lag badly
Some bricks have hitboxes that are a little bit odd but this is easily avoided and rare, it'll pretty much never get in your way
HTML building guides are odd and will create steps with floating bricks
No easy way to get parts lists to bricklink without external tools or manual translation, and the former may not work on occasion.

I still use it. If you intend to use all modern bricks in something you'd like to build, then it's easily a very good program.

This is important.

There's Brickutilis, Brickulus (old, may or may not work), and I think LDD manager.

Just googling "LDD parts list to Bricklink" brings up a medley of results. Me, I decided to just do it manually. It's not that hard once you're familiar with Bricklink's features.

Just ensure all of the parts, and I mean ALL of them, exist in the build you want to make.

>Build mode with colors intended to exist still has bricks that don't exist
The thing is that they do exist, but haven't been put into sets. Sometimes they produce pieces in colors that are needed for brickbuilt statues, and they end up filtering through to Pick-a-Brick and Bricklink.
>>
>>5268473
You should build your own Krangdroid out of LEGO using the Kraang piece.
>>
>>5268369
Cost, mainly. They're a bit on the expensive side.

Though I can live with just a lego version.

AFter seeing the pics I must admit Ultimate sets look beter than I expected after reading about them.
Many cool pieces, clay has 4 fire chima wings, Aaron have lovely new small techno wings, robin has blue/red lightning piece, macy has fucking studshooter on her arm, beast master have drill-hand and 4x4 round dish with portal patern and Lavaria... Holy fuck.
4 legged, bat winged waifu with r new jagged sword pieces and new armor piece.

I'm already saving.

All elves must be mine too. New teapot piece, new big egg piece, New 1x1 tiles with log print, books, printed chocolate bar, new female elve with green hair...

My Lego Dimensions bricks are cracking within days of purchase, and they are just sitting on the shelf. I have been in touch with Customer Service and I sent them what I thought was the complete list of cracked parts, only to discover that my newest purchase of a few days ago, the Doctor Who pack, has K9 cracking in several bricks. Is anyone else getting this issue? It's extremely strange as it ONLY happens with Dimensions sets. I have other sets sitting on the same shelf for a few years now, and no part has cracked, so it's not the environment. Very, very disappointingly perplexing. Has anyone else had this issue?

at the very least, i see myself changing the wheels, removing the skulls, and getting rid of those tie dye blocks, but other than that its not too terrible

>>
>>5268416
Ill give ya $40 for the whole thing.
>>
>>5268890
i did plan on using it similar to a "family car" like the munsters or addams though, and near as i can tell, the interior is about 2-3 minifigs wide
>>

dont lie, you just want to hotglue the figure
>>
>>5268895
you might be right though, i guess it just really depends on if its closer to 2 or 3 wide, and now deep that inside is

i planned on using it as my spooky family car, the anon that made the story with the cmf spooky girl spider lady, and vampire made me want to make a spooky family of pale weirdos (but not vampires or monsters)
maybe il look at it in store, or look for more pictures to get an actual sense of if the size would fit 5 people without looking retarded
>>
>>5268878
when is the last time you bought a set? They redid the QA in 2014 I think. The newer halo sets are really great now. Tons of clutch power. Yeah the brick quality doesn't match lego bit it is better
>>
>>5268896
Thats tempting, but they arent showing enough skin for my pleasure.
>>
>>5268897
Theres a pretty good one in the monster fighters theme that, with some tweaking, could make a great spooky family car. I dont think it even goes for that much on the second market.

>>
>>5268902
that was my other hope to build off of if the monster high one didn't pan out, i figured it was a bit expensive though, never looked up the price
theoretically all i would have to do is hollow out the walls a bit, and retrofit the coffin area into more seating, and it might be big enough
>>
>>5268900
Yeah, while the figs are vastly improved, I still can't get over how janky the blocks fir together overall.
>>
>>5268896

>>
So was a lego brickumentry good thinking of buying it or torrenting it.
>>
>>5268908
Right now theres several of the monster fighters hearsts on ebay for about $35-$45+shipping. Not too bad for a retired set with such character IMO. Plus you get a bike, a zombie drier and a dracula, so its worth it to me personally.

>>
>>5268947

Actually thats alot better than i expected, a little much for its size, but that would actually be the exact price of the megablock monster high car if it wasn't on sale
thanks for pointing out the price, the MH one might be easier, but there are so many more parts to replace/change that would by far set off the lower price
>>
>>5268949

>Occasional crashes, save often but that's a given.
Save often is good advice, but it almost never crashes, the only consistent cases I can think of are if you use the flex tool or hinge-align on HUGE models.

>Limited brick and color selection
Sort of. Use extended mode, check parts against BL/Brickset. You can get way more colours, there's an LXF floating around that's been manually edited to have parts in all the colours LDD actually supports, you can eyedropper from there.

>Build mode with colors intended to exist still has bricks that don't exist
This mode is shitty, see above advice on extended mode.

>Can lag badly
Yep. This is entirely based on your computer and the number of bricks in the model, though. I can get up to 6-7k pieces and there are people who've done 50k+ models.

>Some bricks have hitboxes that are a little bit odd but this is easily avoided and rare, it'll pretty much never get in your way
Yep, an most cases of this will actually work to your advantage, though there are a few that prevent parts from being as close as is really possible.

>HTML building guides are odd and will create steps with floating bricks
>No easy way to get parts lists to bricklink without external tools or manual translation, and the former may not work on occasion.
I don't bother with HTML guides at all, just import the .lxf to Brickficiency and run small passes. Brickficiency is a little buggy with the shitty BL reskin, so you may have to work with the BL wanted lists manually, but it works and is cheaper than other methods.

It's all potentially confidental licensed stuff related to as of yet unreleased movies.

It's a crossbow, the same one as in the new Millenium Falcon, not a gun.

>comparing them to the old modulars

You know you can get sealed tie crawlers for less than $100, right? Where as the old modulars go for $500-$1500 (why is the green grocer so fucking expensive? whats so fucking special about it? Colored bricks? Suck my dick.)
>>
>>5269891
It was only available via the "factory" range IIRC (ie that short lived design your own set and buy it scheme they had in the early 2010s)
>>
>>5269891
The first modulars, especially Green Grocers and Market Street, look pretty awful, I don't really get the high prices either especially considering they don't come with any rare parts since exclusive part colors are a fairly new addition to modulars (I think fire brigade was first with the golden helmet?). They both look like shit too, the only reason why I don't consider them the most overrated ones is the fact that Palace Cinema exists.

Those were Shadow Troopers. They're just elite stormtroopers or something. Dark Troopers are droids. They're beefier and have dark grey armor.

That said, the Shadow Troopers in the Shadow Trooper battle pack were dark grey, so they just need the jetpack to look like Dark Troopers.

Another Quinjet?

Anyway, that Creator prop plane looks pretty nice.
>>
>>5269949
No no no no, it's different this time. This time it's an Aven-Jet.

I might just get it, honestly. Didn't get the MCU Quinjets, and the comics Thanos would go great with my others comics-costume figs.
>>
>>5269924
I was going to point that out yes, those are shadow troopers.

Dark troopers were definitely taller in size, i wonder if anyone has attempted to actually make them with legos.
>>
>>5269966
It's allegedly based on the new cartoon nobody watches, so it won't look exactly like comic Thanos.

I have a house in Poland, I know how it's like over there.
It's true that they can't necessarily afford Lego like normal people.
It really depends what part of the country you live in if you even wanna get some Lego.

Forgot about how Poland's shithead direction is with Lego. Sorry bout that.

Technically they're shadow stormtroopers. Shadow troopers were a different branch.
There's also shadowtroopers without the space who wielded lightsabers, and dark troopers who were droids.
Really the whole EU is fucked.

Thank the mouse for putting the EU out of its misery.

Yeah it's all kinds of confusing with those names. I am sad the Dark troopers got nipped along with other EU stuff, but at least Lego seems to ride the EU train sometimes, even after the Disney acquisition.
