And other such cool stuff.

Planning on buying some furniture for my 1:12th scale figures. Anyone know good sites for that purpose?

Hobby lobby has had some good ones in the past. Failing that, they are dime a dozen on eBay, or if you live near one, Ikea has a small lounge set that comes with one of their signature couches and shelving unit and shit

Shit, thanks man.

A nice setup is great. Feels odd to just put them on stands with no real fitting environment for them.

Hobby Lobby's where the all the furniture except for the kitchen stuff came from in that pic. I got lucky and they were having a 30% off sale, so keep an eye out for that.

>I just happen to have saved those posts in text too, so I will repost them for everyone

Ebay Sellers:
Li.Felice: Chinese seller who has generally decent prices and accessories for 1/12 and 1/6 figures. Prices and shipping are mostly reasonable but some products are of lower quality than others.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/li.felice/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

BoBo: Product quality is generally consistent, though the combined shipping rates are nowhere near as cheap as they ought to be. Pretty good with regards to communication from my experience.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/bobo041219/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

Mini Dream World: A lot like BoBo. Products have differing quality differences but are otherwise serviceable. Good for whole room sets and kitchen mainly.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/minidreamworld2010/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

Debbies':US seller. Does a variety of older, readable books with text and pictures from the 50s-70s and a variety of other miniature related things from that time period. Prices are a little steep for the size though your mileage may vary.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/debsdollhouseminis11/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

Re-Ment2007: Hong Kong Based seller of Re-Ment and Orcara (Basically a Re-Ment competitor from JP) Sells individual and boxed sets. Had no problems with them thus far.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/re-ment2007/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

The Style Home: Possibly one of the most diverse and eclectic assortments. From foodstuffs to tiny mounted deer heads. Sells dollhouse building materials as well.

Rick Hor: Malaysian seller who sews together coats, cloaks and other soft goods pieces for popular Hasbro 1/12 lines like Marvel Legends and Star Wars: The Black Series. He does not do repeats from what I understand and is prone to not offering tracking numbers but his workmanship is pretty decent. Refer to the Neca Nanosuit for an idea of his workmanship in picture included. And at the Fwoosh for a review:

Diorama Building: Not incredibly well versed here but I'll start off with some beginner's stuff.

Matakishi: Cork enthusiast. Has some cheap albeit basic tutorials for building simple environments and the like. Good place to start as cork is so readily and cheaply available.

http://www.matakishi.com/corkbasics.htm

Shortline Modelers: Did a beautiful tutorial on a rough service road using shelf liner which I will post here. Has step by step tutorials with pictures for much smaller miniatures which you can probably apply to larger ones.

http://www.shortlinemodelers.com/layouts-dioramas/scenery/modeling-rough-service-road

Kit Maniac: Mainly for plastic modelers, they have a variety of contributors and the WIP section can range from being vaguely to incredibly detailed as to how to build complex dioramas like waterfalls and rocky hills. Highly recommended.

http://kitmaniac.com/site/

Custom Creator's Punisher Diorama: Has a six page forum post detailing the process he went through to make a Punisher hideout. Moody and beautiful, his materials were cheap but effective.

Diorama Building: Mostly Youtube stuff here. I've compiled a few places left and right that are great for Novices' like myself.

Lizard Landscapes: His work is mainly aimed at terrarium owners but the scale and size of his work along with the materials he uses means that any ambitious 1/12 lover will probably find some use here.

https://www.youtube.com/user/LizardLandscapes/videos

The Painting Clinic: Offers basic to intermediate tutorials on painting 1/35 minis, I usually refer to his tutorials for building bases and creating components for dioramas--for instance, his snow is made out of watered down wood glue and baking soda with a hint of pledge floor polish.

https://www.youtube.com/user/ThePaintingClinic/videos

Bob The Odd: Has been mentioned around here a few times. Loves action figures and builds dioramas for them. Mainly gives updates and shows off finished projects but has a few tutorials and WIP videos.

https://www.youtube.com/user/lunkermouth/videos

Ms Mini Lover: Long, poorly filmed with more shaky cam than the Blair Witch Project, the end product is usually pretty good to serviceable.
WATCH AT YOUR OWN PERIL
https://www.youtube.com/user/MsMiniLover/videos

Chloe's: Mainly 1/6 scratch made furniture. Obnoxious music with no verbal tutorial, I usually just mute the volume and watch the images on screen which amount to anywhere from 4-10 minutes.

miniatures.com has a lot for cheap. Standard dollhouse scale is 1/12 (also called one inch because 1" = 1' in scale) so just about anything made for dollhouses will work.
>>

I don't have any so I'm bad at judging scale, but dollhouses also come in 1/24 and 1/48.

Where can I find 1:12 instruments, like guitars, drums, keyboards, etc.?

Some safety goggles look like glasses, so you could try these which are made of photoetched stainles steel:
http://www.hlj.com/product/THDTSD00064

If you want more typical polycarbonate saftely goggles, you could try printing out a template onto overhead projector transparency and cutting it out.

Any 1/12 scale jars readily available? And if I want to use duct tape as decoration in furniture, should I glue it down and then topcoat it like normal, or since it already has adhesive in it, should I do something else?
>>
What do people build the walls and floors of sets and dioramas out of?
>>
>>5281888
Search for miniature or dollhouse glass jars. They're literally everywhere and are really cheap and come in a lot of colors and styles. I cant help you with the duct tape thing since last time I used it as a decorative feature I was a 17 year old goth kid.
>>
>>5282419
Generally balsa wood or foamcore, but literally anything will work. There's also precut kits you glue together and paint.
>>
>>5283473
>I was a 17 year old goth kid.
I just feel like I should clarify that I want to know because I'm making a glory hole diorama. I would prefer everyone here consider me a shameless, no life pervert than a 17 year old goth.
>>
>>5283475

What kind of thickness would the foam need to be?
>>
>>5283526
I'd say stick the tape on there. If it peels a bit, it just adds more to the scene.
>>
>>5283526
Given the scale, you'll likely want to just get a regular bit of some other tape, probably medical, and cut it into little strips. Apply, then color silver(though you'll want to test first with the color to make sure it takes/doesn't bleed too badly).

You could also just try clean swipes of silver paint that you don't thin so it bunches, but you'd have to doctor the ends so it looks like actual tape strips, that might create the texture.
>>
>>5282419
>>5284175
depend of the scale.
>>
>>5284693

Would be for 1/12 figures. Mainly Figuarts and Shinkis.
>>
>>5284676
Thanks for the tips. In that case, I'll probably go the painting tape route since my skills are definitely not good enough to paint convincing tape from scratch. Honestly, I'm not planning on doing to much to the kit. Likely just the hole, tape, maybe a tip jar, and dirty graffiti. Depending on how the toilet looks out of the box, I might not even paint it fully.
>>
>>5284705
Walls: 0,5-1 cm thick foamcore.
Base: 0,5 cm Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) , floors too.

Can I use PVA glue to keep everything together or do I need something stronger?
>>
>>5285991
Yes, PVA glue works fine for both, in special with the MDF.
It is possible to use other glues for the foam-core, just avoid the glues with solvents like superglue or regular UHU, hot glue used moderately is a good option too, I personally use Polystyrene glue based in PVA, is crystal clear and cheap as Regular PVA glue.

Super shitty image quality, but today at Goodwill I found this little Polynesian(?) house thing.

It's a bit small for any of my figures to comfortably fit in it, would probably be more suited to 3.75" toys, but it was too cool not to bring home.
