I think we'd all like the entire SH crew pre time skip. If Bandai hadn't dropped the ball with the figuarts we'd had them by now...
>>
Damn, ever since I visited /toy/ I have been impulsing buying their figuarts zero line but they are so expensive because I'm late to the game.

Any advice on ordering? where to go? I'm loving the battle version figures. They are well detailed for what it is. I just hate that a lot of them are discontinued and expensive.
>>
Ugh, still nothing I want. Nami and Chopper are close, but no cigar.
>>
>>5264564
I'd only buy characters that are supposed to be massively out of scale. They don't seem to want to do them though.

I could be wrong but I thought Figuarts Zero was created SPECIFICALLY to counter the "discontinued prices" of the P.O.P line. As in, on the back of the FigZero boxes, they say this line was created so it's easy to collect because they don't stop producing the older figures. Or something along those lines.

>>

>>
>>5268378
Figuarts.
>>
I feel bad for scalefags, they really need to drop the autism levels down a bit. They're missing some good toys because of their whole Rain Man thing. Not all of your toys need to be identical scale with each other, sometimes you can just enjoy a thing based upon its own merits and not worry about how it looks shoulder to shoulder with some random other line.

I'm glad I went with VAH Luffy and I'll be happy when my PO of Nami comes through. And then maybe somewhere down the line we'll get those pre-timeskip figures, preferably around Water 7. Pretty sure a LOT of scalefags will crack at that point and get into the line.
>>
>>5268551
If they're characters from the same series, they'll look stupid if they aren't scaled together.

Unless you don't display them together, I guess. That's always an option.
>>
>>5268551
It's more the price because of the scale, rather than the scale itself.

So this line started on March 2015, and this is what we've gotten in 7 months.

Released:
- Luffy
- Traffy
- Zoro
- Ace

Pre-orders:
- Sabo
- Nami
- Chopper

Upcoming:
- Mihawk
- Boa

Honestly, this line has a very good outlook, and we just might get a complete crew.

>>
why do you guys like the poseable figures over the static one. Just preference or do you guys take them out and repose them or something.
>>
>>5270243
Posing them is fun. Statues are nice in their own way, since they look like much more faithful translations of what you see in the manga, but I like the idea of tweaking poses and finding fun ways to display the characters.
>>
>>5270243
Basically what >>5270250 said, but I also like to mess around with them when I'm bored.
>>
>>5268680
Via shonen jump around a month ago.

>>5270243
They're better. They may not always have as much detail but you can do more than just look at them, whether that's pose them (rather than be limited in what they can do, for example a battle posed Luffy where he's stuck that way vs that or he could also be eating, relaxing, facing a specific character where they're both in poses that make sense in the context, etc), play with them, and really whatever else you can imagine wanting to do with a poseable figure. So I wouldn't say objectively better, but I'd definitely say better overall.
>>
>>5270243
I like both.
>>
Have any of you guys collected the banpresto grand line figures?

They look pretty nice and very cheap. I really can't afford all the POPs as of yet.
>>
>>5271906
I have the King of Artist Luffy and I think it's great. It's got a lot of painted and sculpted detail. Is it better than a POP? I hesitate to say because I don't think I know enough about either. Does it stack up? Definitely.

I picked mine up at a con for $25 and it is absolutely a great statue for that price.

>we get this motherfucker before most of the actual main characters

Makes me sick.
>>
>>5271931
and we're going to get furry characters before anyone from pre time skip
>>
>>5271906
I bought a Grandline Men Zoro (volume 9, or maybe it was the ichiban kuji repackage, I can't remember). It's pretty nice, only cost like 1200Y from mandarake. Thought it would be taller, but it's exactly in scale with SHF. I guess when they say "18cm" they were counting the base that Zoro stands on as well (a complete 'duh' moment in retrospect on my part).

>>5271931
It makes sense to get him out while he's new in the manga and on people's minds. He's probably not like a Robin or Usopp, where releasing him now would probably be identical in sales figures as releasing him 2 years from now. They probably just struck while the iron was hot, and to me it's understandable.
>>
>>5271931

I don't know, thats a pretty nice figure
>>
>>5271953
I'm sure it is, I'd just prefer a character I give a shit about.

>>5271964
No problem. I no longer have the One Piece SHF (no big surprise there) but here he is with Goku, which I figure is common enough in people's collections that it would make for a good comparison. I would say Zoro is maybe like 1cm too tall, probably even less. Zoro's not exactly a small guy like Goku sometimes is portrayed at, so I guess it's up to personal preferences. Maybe I shouldn't have said "exactly" in scale previously.

I think that if you were to just cleanly slice his legs at the top of the boot, cut those down a bit, and re-pin them, he would be 100% ideal for an SHF display. Pretty sure you can even pop him off the pedestal with a little heat from a hair dryer, too.
>>
>>5271981
So you'd buy Sabo even if he was a heroin addicted jazz critic who's NOT radioactive?
>>
>>5271978

I had a question regarding pre-ordering. If you don't pre-order does it get harder buying it later? Does it take a while to become discontinued?
>>
>>5271986
Depends on how popular it is.

I see preorders on Nami aren't closed anywhere.
>>
>>5271986
So far they've had some reissues in the line, so even if it "sells out" there may be more later. And usually there's a mix of cancelled orders and overstock that replenishes the online import stores once a product is released, even if it was "sold out" in pre-order. But it is advisable to always pre-order, especially for something like this that, because of size and price, is more "niche".
>>
>>5271982

I think it should be fine. I'm trying to collect the whole crew in that line and probably display them together so I don't have to worry about mixing and matching different scales.

Thanks again for the update. I'm very OCD when it comes having a complete collection. Maybe that is why I don't want to start collecting POP. I would be completely broke.
>>
>>5271986
assuming it's like nendoroids it could become more difficult to get aftermarket
>>
>>5271990
>>5271991
>>5271998

Yeah it just sucks when they run out and start taxing. A little discouraging to collect when you know there is going to be a couple of figures that are double in price.
>>
I'm so torn on VAH. I don't mind the scale, I don't mind the price, I don't even mind the fact that Luffy didn't come with a single gomu gomu effect piece. I just really honestly don't like most of the post-time skip designs. I bought Luffy because he didn't change an incredible amount from pre- to post-time skip, and Chopper is cute regardless so I'll probably get him, but the Zoro they made is something I could never buy.

Maybe I made a mistake buying Luffy and feeling invested into the line. I should have just waited to see if they'll ever release the pre-time skip looks.
>>
>>5264545

I just preorded this!

>>5272057

Any of you guys have recommendation on whether I should go with HLJ or AmiAmi?

AmiAmi has it for cheaper, but I've read that their shipping is higher. Thanks in advance.
>>
>>5272136
HLJ has the private warehouse, which is great if you can amass a bigger shipment in a 60 day span to save on shipping. Beyond that, they both average out to be the same when shipping is factored in.

They both are excellent.

In general, if you are just buying a single, relatively small item, and the difference in price is more than 5-600 yen, you *might* save a minute amount going with amiami.
For multiple items, it's a coin toss. I tend to order with HLJ more frequently because for me, their SAL takes almost a week less for some reason.

Well, having a figure is always better than not having a figure.
>>
>>5280276
It's hard to answer that, it's pretty subjective when it comes down to "worth". It's a nice enough figure from a colossal franchise that has been inexplicably neglected in the modern articulated toy arena. That alone is enough to prove its worth in a lot of ways. They just didn't blow the barn doors off with it, and you come away kind of wondering where the extra money you paid went.
