TFC's Iron hide seems pretty cool and the transformation is neat. Too bad he dosen't fit in with the MP design. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBHvbdUpQU0
>>5258960
>Too bad he dosen't fit in with the MP design
This. A shame, since this Ironhide looks like it'd make a pretty decent Universe/Classics Ironhide. Certainly better than the official one we've got now. If it were in Universe scale, I'd get it in a heartbeat.
>>5258960
There's a couple of millimeters of space on those legs without random panel lines. They really dropped the ball on that.
>>5259087
I'm tempted to pick him up anyway since he just because he seems like a damn good Iron Hide.
>>5258960
>Catalog
What's the pricing on him? I might get him instead of the MP or I-Gear one.
That or a third party kit to make CW Ironhide more G1-ish.
>>5259207
Only thread I saw was the old one and its hit the bump limit. Anyway, try chimungmung or Robot Kingdom.
Still no update on the Nonnef kit for Ironhide and the rest of the CW guys.
>>5259262
Man, I just wanted the combiner feet.
>>5259262
Did nonnef also make that Demolisher head for CW onslaught?
>>5259274
Yeah, I don't know what the deal is with the feet. He needs to hurry up and put those out already.
>>5259281
No, HasTak made that as a possible alternate head for a future reuse and gangmolded it with the regular onslaught.
>>5259285
He's sick and can't work under doctors orders at the moment. He has someone helping out with getting some stuff out the door but there's only so much they can help with.
>>5259286
Is there anymore info on that? it looked cool.
wow Sphinx destroys Invisible and this is coming from an invisible owner...
>>5259324
Which one is which? Because I like the one on the right way better. Although I'm not nuts about the vacuum-metalized chrome bits.
>>5258960
>shit head sculpt
>greebling
>wrong colors
>panel lines
>GREEBLING
Holy shit. I know the official MP ain't perfect, but considering this had no restrictions, and didn't have to look like the cartoon model OR a licensed vehicle, they fucked this up. And it's more expensive by quite a bit. Weak.
Should I pick up the PE kit? I was just thinking of getting the elbow kit, but might be considering this.
>>5259324
Invisible was dual-purposed as Crasher though and the body type worked. They may have even planned it to pull double duty. Sphinx wouldn't work as well for something like that.
>>5258960
They fucked up.
TFC could have made this classic scaled and it would have been fun and there would finally be an acceptable classics Ironhide/Ratchet.
Or they could have toned the fuck down on the detailing and fixed the colors so it was more animation accurate (blue windshield, black arms, grey legs) and it would have destroyed the official MP.
But noooo.
Oh and I didn't know that guy did english reviews.
>>5259087
It's pretty much Voyager scale so why not just use it for your CHUG collection? It's barely taller than CW Motormaster and if I recall, he's a bit on the short side compared to the older more classics-styled Voyagers.
>>5259324
I don't get the love for Sphinx. I'm not an Invisible supporter either since I think this one looks like an oversized Classics but Sphinx is far from being an MP Mirage either. It lacks the heroic look, the head is fugly, the arm cover is stupid, ugly and doesn't even lock the wrist in place, the thighs' shape are completely fucked up for no reason, the lower legs are inaccurate as fuck and the whole sponsoring things is way overdone. These idiots didn't even think of leaving some clean area for the Autobot decal.
I hope the upcoming TakaraTomy take will be better. A year ago, I would have be certain of that but now that that other unskilled idiot is in charge again I'm not sure anymore.
>>5259342
Left: Sphinx
Right: Invisible
>>5259755
Unfortunately that's what happens when they drag these lines out. They shuffle designers and change stuff needlessly and the line as a whole suffers. It's painfully obvious that "Classics" is really 5-6 different lines.
>>5259291
"We realized no one cares about the Unicron Trilogy."
-Hasbro
>>5259639
I have the Crasher version of the mold and love her. Just wish they put lipstick on the lips, she doesn't look complete without it, I'd do it myself, but I'm not confident enough in my painting skills not to screw it up.
>>5259755
>whole sponsoring things is way overdone
>>5259915
Yes.
>>5259919
>I have no idea what MP aesthetic is
>>5259262
Nonnef does his thing at a snail's pace. He works off Blizzard time I think
>>5259922
>I have no idea what looks good
Trying to get things back on course MT Hound should be releasing soon.
>>5259925
>Well, at least you admit it, Anon. Though I don't think green-text is supposed to be used this way.
>>5259930
He looks good, but like many 3P figures, the face sculpt is just... off.
>>5259930
I really like that figure, it looks fun and solid but FT's take looks so much more accurate...
What's the news on combiner stuff?
>>5259755
I think the opposite. Saw the sample piece in person some weeks back and had to order it. The face is very Sunbow Mirage, who was never heroic anyway. I'd rank it as good a sculpt as the Datsun cars, and better than Bee.
Also, after all the shit with Exhaust and cigarette companies, I don't know how Takara stands when it comes to sporting those Citanes logos. 3P may be the only option for diaclone / G1 accurate logos.
>>5260050
None of them were heroic in the cartoon, they all looked retarded. The heroic styling is something the MP line introduced thus this figure doesn't fit with the MP line.
>>5259426
I have a question. Aimed at everyone, really. What makes greebling bad? Or rather, when is it done well?
>>5260136
It used to be a legit complaint because most robot designs have smooth lines and excessive amounts of details can make a figure look too busy and crowded.
Now a days MUH GREEBLES is just used by trolltards to cause a stir.
>>5260136
The style of the figure.
On futuristic/realistic stuff like Movie or WFC figures, it looks great. On simplier/sober stuff like MP, it looks like shit.
>>5260136
Over greebling makes it so a character doesn't fit into a larger group display at all. Plus with extreme example's like warbotron's shit, there isn't even enough space to put a faction symbol on the figure.
>>5260143
They also like to ignore Cybertron Menasor and most Bayformers when they whine.
>>5259923
>Nonnef does his thing at a snail's pace
Not only that, be he works on alot of superflous shit as well.
Rubber wheels? Plastic nosecones? fucking fillers?
Who gives a shit about those except only the nerdiest of nerds? Give us the necessary shit, like good feet.
>>5259436
>Make actual better hands for Devastator
>Shitty spindly spiderhand for other CW gestalts
Fuck you Perfect Effect I would have actually bought these if I could.
>>5260136
>when is it done well?
When it's done by Hasbro, Takara do it well, they know how to vary the greebles and things like that.
3P company Master Made also pulls it off very well.
>>5260178
>Cybertron Menasor
You're just gonna keep citing that fucking toy until you get your point across, huh? What a little shit you are, really.
I'm looking for weapon suggestions for pic related. I know there's the Corbot axe but what other good 3P weapons are there for an OP figure?
>>5260002
That is MT. Their face sculpts are always off.
Liking this more every time I see it
>>5260279
>His name is just Blurr
Enjoy the lawsuit, fellas!
>>5260344
This isn't a stock photo, just taken by someone who got it early. The official name is 'Buzzing.'
>>5259262
I wonder if he ever considered making alternate feet for Sunstreaker, or if it's too difficult to remove the originals.
>>5260205
What is that from?
>>5260462
That's Oritoys Optimus, official third party
can someone tell me if this is fucking real or not?
it's x-transbots apollyon for only 100 bucks. if it's real i'm getting fucking two of them.

>>5260623

>>5260631
his entire library of stuff looks like he stole a bunch of shit from 3rd party factories out the back door.
>>5260636
Those factories need better locks on their back doors.
Possible MMC not-Obsidian from the Spartan pack in comic.
>>5260136
Greebling isn't always bad. It's all down to how a figure is detailed.
Most of the time people refer to greebleshit they mean shitty detail filler. Possibly the most obvious cases of this is with Cassy Sark's MMC designs, Warbotron, and Gcreations. These figures have a lot of parallel line "vents" all over the toy that serve no purpose other than superfluous detailing to fill space. Much of the time it is so prevalent that it is downright messy, amateurish, and the figure would actually look better without any of the extra detailing at all.
Other times with Transformers, the highly detailed 3p figures does not mesh well with the more simplistic details of the official stuff or even the official designs they are supposed to be drawing from.
On the other hand the greeble isn't always bad. Perfect Effect, Generation Toy, and Mastermade have a high amount of detailing on their products. It's not shitty filler lines, but actual intricate detailing.
>>5260623
It's not real. There has been a rash of chinese sellers who have had their accounts stolen or bought out. This happened dozens of times this year. The scammers copy other sellers' listings, photos, and description, then offer the same item for unbelievably low, usually 1/2 price.
They will either not provide tracking, or give you a fake number, and nothing will show up (except one dude at TFW who claims he got sent dried shrimp.) Then you have to go to paypal and open a case against them to hopefully get your money back.
"Hopefully" because there's always a chance paypal can't recover the funds. So if you're willing to gamble $100 and a month and a half of your time waiting for a figure that won't arrive and the possibility you won't get your money back, be my guest. I'd wager that seller's account will be closed and he'll be banned before the end of the month anyway, once all the undelivered complaints and paypal cases pop up.
TL;DR - If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
>>5260766
He really looks like the cut costs redeco version. Guess it fits the wife being totes Impactor.
I'm curious to see how they'd do his legs, but I'd be so down for obsidian.
>>5260866
This. I got burned on a couple cheap masterpieces earlier this year from a seller with an otherwise amazing feedback score. Two weeks after I bought them though, he'd gotten a dozen negatives, it was pretty clear he'd flown the coop, and it was paypal dispute time.
>>5260895
>Guess it fits the wife being totes Impactor.
I think you mean Roadbuster. Which makes sense, as NotObsidian is obviously a redeco of an IDW Whirl.
>>5260903
You literally just keep the Whirl legs together and fold them up more so the look more like his tail thing.
>>5260340
The animation model has a chin thing but it's more line detail and not something that stuck out. You could argue it was supposed to jut like that but it was too much to animate I guess
>>5260050
>Also, after all the shit with Exhaust and cigarette companies, I don't know how Takara stands when it comes to sporting those Citanes logos.
I was thinking the same thing. They'll probably just go with LIGIER 26 on the sides.
Should I buy the PE Menasor hands and feet kits now or just POL with the upcoming PE Devestator unsucking kit?
A Chinese seller on eBay has the Scouts & Sniper set for $60 with free economy shipping, which was a good enough deal to make me pull the trigger.
>>5261226
Do you already have CW Devs? If not just wait for UW Devs or see how Toyworlds turns out. I'd also recommend getting the PE head and torso upgrade for Menasor.
>>5260766
The bots in the tubes may hint at upcoming MMC releases too. Looks like a Roadbuster in the upper middle (which would probably be a remold of NotStrika) and their Drift in lower right. More importantly, a bot with Rotorstorm's color scheme is in the middle. Possible remold of the NotObsidian?
>>5261268
I have CW Devestator, I'm pretty much set on the elbow kit, but 50/50 on the kit that makes the vehicles nicer, but includes the Prowlstator head I'll never use.
I fucking bit the bullet and got him for $116 dollary doos shipped via EMS.
I might consider buying someone's unwanted Swamper and start a Crocigator farm.
>people who complained about PWTT are still complaining about them
It's over, finished. Why can't they move on? It's time to find a new target to bitch about.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVqz3BEcX0U
Spartan looks pretty rad. MMC has come a long way since their crappy Knight Morphers.
>>5261692
Why can't you? Nobody was even talking about them ITT.
>>5261695
That looks pretty rad
>>5261226
>upcoming PE Devestator unsucking kit?
Yes, also known as the PE Devastator blowing kit
>>5261605
nice looking bot but it looks like he doesn't have a waist swivel?
>>5261702
I get the feeling some people really don't like Rik.
>>5258960
What's the point of this? There's already Masterpiece Bumblebee
I really don't buy figures this big anymore, but this could be an exception.
>>5261755
He can rotate his waist and have a sideways wagging dick tail.
>>5261896
That Dino mode is a real grower
>>5261859
More a CHUG bee. It's just a repaint of a previous release.
>>5261695
Is this thing shipping yet? I swear I paid for mine around September..
>>5261695
>dat leg transformation from the treads
>dat uninhibited range
>ball jointed hand and additional wrist rocker joint
>leg part swivel
Nice. I don't care about the colors because it looks like a purple duck head on treads in robot mode but I think I'll get the Turmoil version or whatever the Metal Slug OC remold was is supposed to be.
>>5261896
>>5261900
Aw shit. How big is Generations Grimlock in comparison to the robot mode? It looks like all the mass of the tail gets shit out the legs, the dino neck and head compress somehow into the backpack and Vulcan's arms grow via a series of expanding joints.
>>5261898
>sideways wagging dick tail
money well spent desu
>>5261255
Nice thanks for the heads up!
>>5261255
Is this legit? Wasn't there a lot of worry about scammers?
>>5261939
Grimlock is about 7" tall, but he's also really hollow. He's as bad as a G1 Ultra Magnus from the back.
>>5261896
>>5261900
>>5261928
Mine shipped from Planet Steel Express. It should be shipping from NA retailers soon.
>>5261695
Damn that looks good, but I'm waiting for the black repaint they're doing. I have no attachment to Impactor but I love the Metal Slug tank thing.
>>5261859
A lot of people are triggered by MP-Bee because it has real world VW Bug proportions instead of the squished-up penny racer look from the show.
>>5262199
Less that and more all that non-accurate kibble on his arms and back that just hang off awkwardly.
>>5261859
this looks better desu
>>5262274
Having the hood reversed instead of using the rear window looks a bit ass and really cheats.
>>5262284
>cheats
Eh, I don't mind it. As long as it isn't using any fake pieces to achieve that look it's fine by me.
>>5262284
Technically MP Bee also cheats in that regard, since the chest window is actually hidden in VW mode.
>>5261959
>estimated to arrive October
>October ends
>estimated to arrive November
Where's my tender engine?
>hollow parts
First FP and now MT. Really hope this isn't a trend.
Shit. I was dreaming that a giant mechanical bird-dragon with robot mode being an amazonian woman that was a blatant pretool for a Deszaras was shown off. I never knew how much I needed that.
>>5263684
Sixty dollars!
>>5263528
IIRC the tender is a separate part that turns into a weapon platform thing.
Waiting for Croctimus.
I hope it arrives before Saturday.
>>5263733
Better than eighty. If cutting that little plastic saves twenty bucks, I've got no complaints.
>>5263684
Torn.
I want this because of how clean the robot mode is but you can sense the power level of the frustrating arm transformation here.
Speaking of transformations, Mecha Form released their Sky Guardian. It looks like fucking shit and makes Diesel look like a spychanger in tedious. It also cannot hide the robot hands despite how it pretty much explodes into a million assemblies of panels.
>>5265066
I own him, it's really stupid easier than it looks, but since the croc feet are on a ball joint you may pull them off by accident.
>>5265080
I was referring to Rover.
Fuck yeah Crox repro-labels. Bought them and a set for Swerve, I'm excited.
I know a guy selling this for $60 shipped. Is it worth it even though it probably isn't as good as Crox?
>>5258960
Damn, that thing's ugly
>>5259342
Why would you want the one on the right? Left is more detailed, better color and more G1.
>>5265208
I don't have either but I always preferred this to Crox at least visually.
>>5265208
He's really big and beefy. Very fun toy, but the articulation ratchets don't leave a lot of options for interesting poses. I'd say it's worth it for $60 shipped if you're even passively interested.
>>5265208
He actually isn't too bad. I hate the 'gator' mode though, he looks more like a weird synapsid than either an alligator or a crocodile.
>>5265208
When I first saw this guy I got all excited because I thought he was Snaptrap.
>>5264941
Fair point...
>>5261896
>>5261900
After realizing how much mass shifting is involved between the two modes I had to pull the trigger on this. They really did the impossible by making an accurate figure from those disconnected character models.
>>5265183
I'm pretty tempted to use that grill sticker over the window. Although, I do like the window in croc mode. Shame they never left a partial window in it so we could have the best of both worlds.
Also worries me a bit how crooked it's applied there and how it really doesn't seem to cover the window completely on the edges. Looks rough.
>>5263684
I watched Peaughs review of this guy and the light bars are stickers.
Dropped.
>>5266124
The light bars are colored translucent plastic but the shiny metallic finish comes from stickers.
They also started posting their own videos for some reason. More turds should do this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKCpSSuXu6o
>>5266330
>hands already prepared to transform off camera
Don't want to address them popping of on people eh MT?
>>5265988
I'll put the vent stickers up, it will make it look less prime-y and not like you can see the headmaster driver in croc mode anyways.
Got the Nonnef gears today. Now Motormaster has slightly less retarded posture. I'd be tempted to buy Optimus and do that upgrade + the nonsuck kit, but I might as well just invest in the MP at that point.
>>5266330
>They also started posting their own videos for some reason
Probably because most of their releases are met with reviewers whining about how difficult the transformation is.
>>5266746
Me Vulcan king of dinonots.
>>5266746
That's not bad at all. You can do some fun things with his kibble like 4 arms and making a drone thing.
Planet X needs to invest in a setup or person that doesn't take shitty ass fuzzy and whitewashed pictures.
For some reason Maketoys is going to start to sell Quantron members as individual releases. They're like $35 a piece for a limb and $80 for the torso at Action Robo right now. So instead of $430 it's $220 total this time around. The gift set must have sold like shit and they repackaged them. Good news if you just wanted one or two members like me though.
>>5267141
>So instead of $430 it's $220
>>5267141
>yfw you realize they don't feature the combining gimmick
>>5267141
>want strafe from the second he's revealed but no interest in the rest
>recently contemplate spending 100+ on the ugly ass recolor just to get my hands on the mold
>mfw individual releases out of nowhere at fucking thirty five dollars
Who the hell is action robo though? Please, tell me everyone else is getting them.
>>5267141
That's awesome
>>5267323
Asian seller. Reliable and usually get FP and MT shit in first.
They just popped up for preorder at Kapow and BBTS for the same price as Action Robo so I assume some other stores are going to get them.
>>5267141
If I was to only get one member, which one is the best? I'm leaning towards the drill guy.
>>5267141
But where? And is it from Asia? I don't want to get slammed by shipping if I buy the whole team..
>>5266124
When Takara released their figures with stickers fans ate it up.
>>5267141
This is awesome, I've always wanted that little Tron bike guy but figured I'd never have a chance to buy it. Hopefully Maketoys sells their not-Tailgate a la carte later too, I think a lot of people don't give a shit about the Cyclonus kit it comes with.
>>5267827
>Hopefully Maketoys sells their not-Tailgate a la carte later too
Don't count on it. If you want it you better get it now.
>>5267428
Strafe, Nosecone (aside from his slightly finnicky feet), and Afterburner are all great. Scattorshot is pretty good, partsforming and visible combiner head notwithstanding. Lightspeed is pretty weak, but I like his altmode.
>>5267863
Probably not going to get Scattorshot, but out of the limb bots, which one has the best articulation? I know that only Afterburner and Strafe have bicep swivels but that's the extent of my knowledge.
>>5267680
Read thread. It's there are preorders for some of the members at BBTS too.
What are some good upgrades for FOC Grimlock? I know there's that chest filler from Iron Factory, but is there anything else? I'd like a new head for the toy.
What is everyone's opinion on MMC? After i had a pretty good time with some Fansproject stuff i think i'm ready for the big leagues and this big mother just came out. Is it worth the massive amount of cash?
>>5268044
MMC since Rex and Hexatron have been nothing but super solid. If you can get past the designs you should have a good time. Rex is a bit heavy though and takes some effort to get posed and stable.
>>5268014
There were head sets, weapon sets, and a gunset. They were all unreasonably expensive kits. I did want the weapon one for a while though.
Don't know why you even want anything to do with the mold with Vulcan on the horizon.
>>5265208
He's fun but I wouldn't call it anything but ok. Good is subjective. Crox is cleaner but Swamper embraces the kibblebox look of the original design. The headmaster itself could have at least tried to hide the face a little.
>>5268044
I own Feral Rex and I'm on the fence about it personally. Be aware that when you buy into a combiner you're trading away articulation and some finer details for the sake of the combining gimmick, and often a degree of partsforming will be involved.
But as far as combiners go? He's arguably the best, in my experience. Nice and heavy where it matters, especially those feet, lots of upgrades and so on to play with. He can hold some good stances but, again, like most combiners don't expect a good Iron Man pose out of him. He looks best looming over deluxe size toys anyway.
The downsides; his sword doesn't hold with shit . its not the weight but rather the pegs connecting it are garbage (there is another third party selling a better sword kit for him that holds perfectly if you want to dump extra cash into him.) I think his hand articulation could have been a little better, other companys certainly have more involved combiner hands but Feral Rex's are appropriate and meaty at least. If you keep the avian for one of his arms instead of opting out for the sixth member you'll find its tail feather plate can be annoying and get in the way, and the added gun weighs the left arm down enough that he can't keep it raised in some poses. His arms in general are heavy as hell, so be careful when posing them up high. My final nit pick is his crotch plate is a bitch, it tabs in on both the front and back of his groin and loves to pop out when posing him.
If you aren't going for the optional sixth member for the left arm I would get that redeco, its has a more coherent look to it than G1 Predaking colors, though some might argue that's more boring - plus the upgrade kits probably won't match with it unless they get redecos as well.
>>5268069
Should I use the regular or "chrome" version of Iron Factory's chest filler. I have the target exclusive g1 colored version. What matches better?
>>5268131
I forgot to add, the individual toys aren't too bad, though Leo Dux and the arms are clearly the better engineered ones in terms of fun and pose ability. Some of them have issues holding their melee weapons as well, but they have a ton of gear and kibble to play with and its all swappable between team members.
>>5268131
would you say he is better than say, the combiner wars guys in terms of quality and durability? also sixth member?
>>5268170
The 6th member is a yellow repaint of the tiger limb, so divebomb can form te backpack iirc.
>>5268069
Oh lawd is that some Tailgator?
>>5267881
They both have very close amounts of articulation, but Afterburner has a lot of bulk that can get in the way. His hammer is also a bit heavy so he's difficult to pose him dynamically with it.
Strafe is a lot easier to mess around with, and while the wings don't seem like much they add a lot to his presense.
I have $150 to spend. What is the best bang for my buck? I do have 3 of the legs for Ordin, not really into the masterpiece styling either. Please help me spend my money.
>>5268234
MMC Azalea and a second of her kind in your favorite color.
>>5268234
Maketoys Axel, or one of the Quantron limbs they're selling now.
If you have some of Ordin may as well get the rest, Troll and Siegfried are the best.
MMC Salvia Prominon is probably the best out of the fembots they made, unless you feel like spending double the money on Asterisk.
MMC DJD have all been pretty cool so far.
FP Steelcore is great if you want a donut steel.
>>5268234
If you like Legends Iron Factory or DX9 stuff is all great. For 150 you get a lot of fun small figures with loads of play value.
>>5268170
Better in looks, weight distribution, everything except MAYBE slightly better articulation and pose ability. You really need the third party feet to make CW stuff not fall over easily though, which is self defeating I think.
>>5268234
If you want a lot of bang for your buck figures that are pretty good but neglected and 'cheap':
FP: Armored Battalion (Deluxe Insecticons) 3 pack TFS can't dump them even at $100 which is insane because all three molds are fcuking great. You could probably sell the extra weapon baggie they come with for $15-$20 if people are desperate. I've seen it done.
Toyworld Aurora (Searchlight): is a fun solid bot with a great alt mode. He should be like $25-$30 where in stock. Unlike Grindrod, Aurora fell sharply in price while Grindrod skyrocketed before the additional run. Speaking of, Grindrod and the rest of the gang that don't come with combiner parts should be $60 each. There are even KOs that are good quality, bigger and cheaper.
Mech Ideas Piston (Crankcase): Is a nice little bot about $20 at most places and doesn't have his moldmate's problem of exploding thighs.
Any of the individual quantron limbs which will be $35 each.
You could get two really solid $70-$80 figures in that range too.
>>5268321
Seriously, I love these insecticons. I have no idea why they can't move them. One of my favorite third party purchases.
>>5268321
Are these worth it? I really want one or two.
>>5268250
Seconding Azalea and offshoots.
Leonidas is also really dope if you can find him for a decent price.
>>5268321
>Toyworld Aurora (Searchlight): is a fun solid bot with a great alt mode. He should be like $25-$30 where in stock. Unlike Grindrod, Aurora fell sharply in price while Grindrod skyrocketed before the additional run. Speaking of, Grindrod and the rest of the gang that don't come with combiner parts should be $60 each. There are even KOs that are good quality, bigger and cheaper.
The KOs of these are really high quality and are probably the nicest KOs I've ever bought. They're also MP size which is pretty awesome. Very recommended.
>>5267276
Too bad the listing says they still come with their combiner pieces.
>>5268351
If you don't mind dropping most of that on a single toy, get Leonidas or something equivalent its great.
>>5268392
I used to have himo n preorder at my local toy shop till the owners whole sale account fell through. I still want him but I would like more than one item to help me justify spending the money.
>>5268321
I always liked those FP Deluxe Insecticons.
Here's something that's kinda cool, FP Kickback's leg transformation is directly inspired by G1 Ransack's legs. So seeing a Ransack repaint of Kickback is very fitting
>>5268321
I'll never get over the fact that two of these molds have seperate pieces for the hands, but somehow don't have wrist swivels. Fucking stupid, espcially since the originals use melee weapons
>>5268707
Just find a Windblade review. That'll cover 90% of it.
>>5268044
Early MMC: awesome design, terrible KO-tier quality.
Nowadays MMC: terrible design, good quality.
>>5268974
You're only saying they're terrible because they're IDW-inspired.
>>5268979
I'm saying they're terrible because they're terrible. I don't even know what IDW stuff look like but if they do look like this, then they look terrible too.
Maketoys hound toy colors review. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2R4x_y7HC18
So are the only options for a Nautica just the shapeways kits?
>>5270455
Headsculpt looks a bit off but that aside he looks great.
>>5267141
Fuck, I just got the set a few weeks ago during the TF Source sale for $330
>>5271249
The lips look weird =, but glad he doesn't need to have a gas can stuck to his toe like in the pre-release pic.
I'm like 50/50 on the Maketoys Tailgate. It looks nice, but I also own the ehhhh but not absolute garbage official one. The Cyclonus kit is my main draw, but will it look okay if I used the Universe one that was dark purple?
>>5267141
I'm checking a few sites and it seems only Overheat and Metalstorm are up for preorder. Are the other three being released this way as well?
>>5270944
Can you link the shapeways kits?
>>5270455
Pretty impressive how the arms and legs come together in jeep mode.
>arise reximus prime
>>5272393
>Two crowns
>Optimus head
What
>>5272401
The second head is IDW style grimlock.
>>5272393
That's the oversized KO, right? I might be tempted if it did something with the ratchets.
Will be okay using the Universe Cyclonus body for the kit that comes with Tailgate? I'm not gonna drop extra $ just for the RTS version.
>>5272393
I've wanted the comic-colored version of this mold for a long time, but they're way fucking overpriced now. I might buy this if the quality is up to snuff...
>>5272464
Are the ratchets on the Has/Tak versions no good or something? I've never owned any version of this mold. I know I heard the most recent Hasbro release suffered from loose joints all over.
Rising Force MotorMaster.
Oh man, that truck looks good.
>>5273673
But robot mode is, yeah.
>>5273678
Meh, I like it. Nice compromise between GEEWUN and having some sense of scale.
>>5268069
He's got a Mouser buddy!
>>5268336
I don't have those versions but I DO have the ninjaInsecticons and I love them. They're fabulous. Posable, fun, easy to transform, look great. I don't know why they went with a weird ninja thing with them, but fuck it, it works.
Kickback's kunai though are fucking SHARP though.
>>5273804
FP has a habit of making toys that hurt your fingers. I got the second release of the Bruticus upgrade kit and splitting the backpack is murder on your fingers.
>>5273673
>>5273678
So are they planning this guy to be standalone or are they actually cooking up the rest of the Stunticons to combine wit him?
I'm hoping for the latter because I like him so far and I don't think we've had a particularly great Menasor available yet. FP's looks decent but the transformation is so fiddly and the Motormaster and the alt mode doesn't scale with anything. This guy isn't by the books G1 but has the design sensibilities of G1 so it would fit well in a CHUG display and I really like that. The feet are a bit plain though.
>>5273905
Well the CW Stunticon limb-bots are pretty decent, especially Dead End and Drag Strip. Heck, Motormaster is OK on his own. It's just that MM makes for a dreadful combiner torso and it lets the whole thing down.
>>5273909
Yeah, that's just been the problem with all the Menasors we've gotten. Individual components looks solid but there's always something wrong that ruins the whole thing. If this guy is a planned combiner in the CHUG scale, this could be the one to get it all right finally.
Paddles gets fuck hueg artillery.
>>5273678
Well, they tried. It almost looks like a knock off Gears.
>>5274269
It's a fucking shame they're not articulating the head or the tail.
>>5274272
Going to be a long one though.
>>5274137
For all we know, the trailer is coming and these are just initial shots to generate hype. I'm guessing the trailer is going to have most of his combiner bits.
>>5270944
So far. The grill doing MMC's OX designs wants to give Nautica a go though.
>Maketoys Quantron Price drop was a mistake by MT or some shit
FUCK EVERYTHING. They're $55 a limb now.
Got this guy in today. I held off on it for a long time but finally gave in last week.
Ordered him and Mixmaster at the same time from Thechosenprime. I love me some free shipping. Odered on thursday, got it today.
Hes not without his faults, but I love it regardless. Easily one of the best alt modes ive ever seen.
I was worried he was gonna be back heavy, and he is, but he stands just fine.
I had originally thought that these were made by warbotron just under a different name, but now I'm not so sure. If they are, its certainly a step forward from their combaticons.
Only real issues I have with him are that he can only grip his gun by the bottom 1/8th of inch of the handle and his front skirts like to move around on their own. Other than that, hes pretty bad ass. I really dig the rubber wheels.
>>5274698
Aw fuck. The ones I wanted weren't up yet anyway so I guess I can't get too upset, but that still sucks.
>>5274698
Goddamnit. Not a bad price all things considered, but that's still unfortunate for anyone excited about them being so cheap (me). I wonder how many pre-orders they lost because of it.
>>5274698
>Price drop was a mistake
What did they have the price set at?
I bought Swamper for cheap. I am not disappoint, this thing is fucking Voyager size. Looks better in person too. He looks like a chubby croc or a space iguana in alt mode.
Kinda hate the LOUD ratcheting joints though. I'm gonna wake up the entire fucking house playing with this.
>>5274711
>>5274714
>>5274716
>>5274722
Love how these guys look, but arent they like $100 a bot? I already blew my $100 a bot combiner load on Hercules when he came out.
>>5274877
The oversized quality along with that goofy smile really brings a certain unique take to the character and gives him some individuality amongst the trio of Decepticon Headmasters since Weirdwolf (the FP one) has his melee weapon thing going for him and Mindwipe has his hypnotism.
>>5274877
>>5274989
I agree. He isn't as partformer-y as reviewers have shown. I like the weapons he comes with, they're very versatile. The ratchets are insanely loud though. I had to unscrew his legs and hips open and take them out. They still pose pretty good without the extra loud clicking.
I wanna get G1 Skull Cruncher and the Titan Wars one and maaaaaaybe the JP release to make a big headmaster crocodile farm.
I'm okay with Universe Cyclonus with the kit.
>>5274777
$34 a limb.
>>5274722
If I had LOADSAMONEY these would be my Constructicons, no doubt.
So iv'e had Perfect Warden for months and just got around to playing around with him.
Absolutely in love with this guy.
>>5275805
I have owned few figures that can Slav Squat and hold their balance still.
>>5275805
I kinda like the "Super Robot Mode" but it's a bit annoying to pose but it holds it's own weight really well.
I gave up after 30 minutes of trying to transform him into tank mode.
>>5275816
Yeah hes fucking great man. The tank mode is kind of a waste, but he does have other alt modes. Pic related, only alt mode that matters.
>>5275993
I love him, too. Probably one of my top 5 third party figures. Just his bot mode alone is an excellent figure even if his tank mode is a little lacking.
>>5276039
Oh, also, does anyone have the add on set for Warden? Is it worth it?
>>5276042
Yeah ive got. Its nice.
So which of the CW-Optimus upgrade kits isn't a partsformer again? Either Beezleboss's kit or the Primo Vitalis kit
>>5276309
I think its Beezleboss's. Funny thing is neither one offer replacement hip ratchets.
>>5276309
Too bad Prime is long gone from stores now.
>>5276453
guy from >>5276309 here
I actually bought one in a really beat-up box from a Target today. It's a piece of shit with loose-as-fuck limbs, but I have a pair of Nonnef hip ratchets and I'm looking to get one of the upgrade kits
Problem is I can't decide which one. Partsforming tends to be a dealbreaker if it isn't the only way though.
>>5268234
WARDEN
Fuck, I bought the Nonnef antennas and accidentally stripped the head of the screw that came with Superion. Does anyone know of a good place to get a replacement?
>>5276453
You can get them on Hasbro's eBay shop.
Who's preordering this SOB?
Omnigonix Spinout
>>5277035
The weird thigh flaps and hollow back of the shins are no good. I do like the way the backpack works out, though.
Who's preordering this SOB?
Badcube Sunsurge
>>5258960
>>5277247
some questions:
One, why does Nova Prime have Prima's sword? on that note, why does he also have Drift's swords?
Two, why does Cassy Sark still work for MMC?
Three, will we ever get a Nova Prime that actually looks like the design?! it's such a cool design, why does Cassy think he can do better than Don?
>>5276309
Both actually.
>>5277255
>Two, why does Cassy Sark still work for MMC?
He left. These designs are years old. There is also several upgrade kits using the CW White Prime, which is closer to the videogame version
>>5277255
>One, why does Nova Prime have Prima's sword? on that note, why does he also have Drift's swords?
Because that's not Nova Prime. He's a guy who's like a cross between Nova Prime and Prima, an ancient Steelian working on a program that can save or destroy the universe.
If you want him to be Prima or Nova Prime or someone new, there is enough in the character design to do what you want.
It's what I like about the Reformatted stuff.
>>5277255
>will we ever get a Nova Prime that actually looks like the design?!
We came so close once.
>>5277353
>If you want him to be Prima or Nova Prime or someone new, there is enough in the character design to do what you want.
>It's what I like about the Reformatted stuff.
It's a fine idea, sure, but it's SUCH a tease.
I'd prefer to have good, normal looking toys of Sixshot and Nova Prime before people start redoing their designs in weird aesthetics.
>>5277247
I pre-ordered him as a place holder. I'm not sure if I really want him.
