NECA 1954 is out. How do you guys like it?
>>5226345
One of my favorite Godzilla figures. Next to my Monsterarts Millenium figure.
fantastic figure
it's one of Neca's best releases
>>5226347
>>5226362
>>5226345
I really wanted to buy this figure, but I just couldn't. It looks great in photos, but actually holding it in my hands at TRU, something just seemed wrong about it and I can't quite put my finger on it. Like, it's not a QC thing and I'm not bashing the figure; something about it just bothers me. Maybe it's too much like a costume rather than a kaiju?
I just ended up getting the Emergence 1964 SHMA. I love the paint job and it's probably my favourite suit. I'll post pics of him with my sad, wingless Dessy when I get him in November.
>>5226420
You should get him anyway. He's a fantastic figure (best articulation out of all the Neca gojis), he's cheap, and there's no guarantee the monsterarts line will continue.
>>5226434
seriously, get it. it's only $18 and is by far the best NECA godzilla we've gotten. might as well take what we get since there is no guarantee bandai will do a 54.
>>5226434
Eyes should not face forwards on this suit.
>>5226439
I think I'm gonna hold out and wait. It looks great, but like >>5226434 said, there's just something off-putting about it. I think it's the lack of segmentation I don't prefer (to an extent), but I haven't seen it in real life or anything.
I'm also Canadian, so that $18 is gonna be about $30 on Amazon. I don't mind spending $20 because that's nothing, but the $30 range is when I'd rather keep my money if I'm not fully sure on getting it.
>>5226420
Dude he's like 20 bucks, 30 in Canada. Pretty much a steal.
>>5226434
It's meant to look like the suit, in other words: movie accurate.
>>5226470
they kinda don't?
>>5226505
this, i don't really understand the problem here
>>5226526
Some people prefer their kaijus to look more like what it's supposed to represent than the actual suit, that's all.
Like, I'm glad Ultra-acts don't have flab and suit winkles all over them. They aren't actually supposed to be dudes wearing costumes.
>>5226546
Okay, so you like your figure stylized.
>>5226565
I guess!
Not sure if "stylized" would be the right term though. More like 'realistic', maybe. Whatever.
I just got the Monsterarts Gamera and I can't get the leg section off for the life of me. The figure is pretty stiff in general too.
Any advice?
wonder what will neca's next godzilla offering will be?
>>5226699
In my wildest dreams? They give us the MUTO we deserve. Realistically though, what '54 repaint possibilities are there?
>Shin Godzilla started filming last month
>King Kong Vs Godzilla announced
>That Gamera test reel
I don't think a dick is physically capable of being as rock solid as mine right now.
>>5226710
I managed to wrench it off after removing the legs, but thanks.
Despite the stiffness, I really love this figure. Feels like a good first Monsterarts.
>>5226699
Gigan so I don't have to pay scalper prices for the Revoltech
I own all the NECA Godzillas, and the 2000 SHMA, rebirth SHMA, and the 1964 SHMA
NECA's 1954 I think is my favorite out of all of them.
>>5226434
I know what you mean.
In the package you dont really get to see how good it is. He's in an akward position and his tail isnt on. When you take him out, pop on the tail and pose him, he'll look right.
>>5226523
I think he means necas 1954
>>5227316
Yea. They need to save up for other rights that bandai has the luxury to afford and dispense as they please
>>5227506
Get some new material. Your is as stale as it gets.
Will we ever get an Sh Monsterarts of >pic related?
>>5227666
A monsterarts? No. Highly unlikely we'll get much else at this rate.
NECA however...here's hoping.
>>5226705
We could get a colorized version of 54. He'd be brown, which'll look cool
>>5227506
Were the muto in the movie colored like that? That thing looks hideous.
>$12 shipping
why
I'd get Amazon Prime but I rarely use Amazon
>>5227792
Really? Have had great experience with Amazon. Prime just makes things so much nicer since most revoltech/figuarts/monsterarts are prime compatable.
>>5226852
>1962
>>5227792
spend $35 so you get the free shipping
>>5226705
>what '54 repaint possibilities are there
From NECA? It's almost certain, Any opportunity they get to do a repaint they take it. I don't mean that to throw shade at NECA, it's a smart thing to do. Those repaints cost much less to make (for obvious reasons) so they use that extra dough for more sculpts and tooling in the line. Part of the reason we have all these new monsters for the Pacific Rim line is cus they milked the shit out of that gypsy danger sculpt
I hope this is what monsterarts is doing.... Why else would they only give us all these repaints? Hopefully they're just collecting that extra repaint dough so we can get new figures again
>>5228237
>Why else would they only give us all these repaints?
Because the secondary market is bad, and they want to reissue items that cannot be reissued (because of exclusivity), or release them as an exclusive release to avoid overproduction and shelfwarming?
Not to say milking for more profit isn't the only reason, but some of those dudes really did need to be released again.
Really dig this guy.
>>5227666
Favorite head but that body... JUST
Does anyone have Revo Baragon? I was thinking about picking him up sometime, but I noticed his joint paint chipping in this pic. Is this common with Revos?
>>5228954
I got him when he first came out years ago. He's got only a little bit of paint wear on the very tips of his claws since those are what's always touching the ground. His tail has stayed strong too, unlike my Angurius' who's wire apparently got several breaks in it after only a few months of posing. I guess it's because Baragon's tail goes all the way to the wire while Angy's is more hollow.
And speaking of the tail, I guess be careful when you pose it up as mine has some small cracks on the thin plastic ridges at the very back where it meets the tail.
>>5229066
All that said, I really love him. He's such an expressive toy that's always a joy to play with.
>>5228954
>>5229066
>>5229071
>>5229163
Got mine second-hand "broken" for like $20 and it took me 10 minutes to fix it. I love him a lot. He's decently in scale with NECA and SHM imo since I figure baragon is one of the smaller kaijus.
>>5229183
I just got monsterarts 1995 Godzilla on deep, deep discount, what's a good figure to buy to go with him? This is my first kaiju thing.
I kind of want Kiryu, but he's expensive.
>>5229191
Get Kiryu. That thing is bordering on a masterpiece. It's absolutely gorgeous. It's one of like three toys that I would try to save in a fire.
>>5229191
It truly is the best Kiryu on the market
>>5229183
I got my baragon used and broken too. His former owner snapped the join in his shoulder and tried to fix it with fucking GLUE. Didn't even ship me his arm.
$40 was still a great deal for two used SHMAs and a used Revoltech.
>>5227792
This anon again
>decided to fuck it and get the free shipping anyway
>got package just now
>its a fucking left-handed enviromentally friendly mouse
>I'm right-handed
What the fuck
>>5231199
Look at this fucking thing
>>5231201
Shit on Amazon CS until they give you the figure for free.
>>5231206
And how does one do that?
>>5231199
It's a sign anon. Get the 1964 SHMA instead.
>>5231213
Or he could just get the cheaper fig now before it costs $70 aftermarket in a year or two
>>5226615
Take it to a nice dinner and relax it in a hot tube. Then you'll get those leg sections off
>>5227675
I wouldn't even say NECA. That line is dying thanks to Toho.
I just got NECA '54 today.
This is probably their best one yet.
I hope the line's not dead in the water cause I really want some more Showa suits.
>>5231035
Warms my heart to know an anon out there is giving these poor broken figures a home. There is just so much evil in the world.
>>5231477
I need to check a couple toysruses when I get a chance. I don't know why their website doesn't tell you which stores have it
Waiting for SHMA Fire Rodan to come by mail, what can I expect?
>>5233133
He's tiny. Be gentle with his itty bitty feets and tail joints. But he's pretty good overall!
>>5233133
His design can only do so much, but he's really fun for what he is. His wings work a lot better than I would have expected and I was overall pleasantly surprised. Also all those stands and beams.
I'm thinking about buying a new Monsterarts next week or so when I get paid. Should I go for Godzilla 2000 Special Color or Gamera? They're both about the same price and I can actually find the Godzilla in a store near here, but I'm torn between the two.
>>5233193
Ive seen both those first hand, and while it may be because I lost the Gamera (it was in a store, I had it then put it down and some faggot grabbed it and bought it), but Gamera is cool as shit. He comes with his crazy fore beam and he just looks awesome. On the other hand I own nee color 2000 and it is also amazing, I like it better than my purple finned one. It just looks so spot on to what I imagine Godzilla to be.
So yeah, hope this helped I guess.
>>5233193
I would go for Gamera. We're pretty much guaranteed constant Godzillas from this line. This might be the only Gamera for who knows how long.
>>5231838
I really love 'em. Buying your first toy from a line your new to used is a great way to test the waters without getting burned if you end up not liking it.
I'm kind of a poor fag, but SHMA Dessy was great enough to get me to pre-order 1964 Emergence Goji.
>>5231477
They say they're negotiating more Godzillas for 2016.
In other news, I just got Revoltech Gigan for 85 bux shipped. Did I do good or should I cut my balls off?
>>5226699
>that pic
Milleniumzilla is the only one left to complete the Mighty Kaiju Goji Rangers.
>>5233735
Do iiiit. You'll love it. It'll feel naughty for you...tantalizing...thrilling.
>>5231199
>>5231201
Me again, Amazon actually managed to send the right thing today.
And what a fucking great figure it is, its very solid and heavy, which I did not expect. Some of the joints are a bit stiff but that's nothing the hairdryer can't fix. However, I don't like how if you pose him bending down his back spines become separated. A necessary sacrifice for poseability, I suppose.
>>5236124
>85
You did good anon. He's usually 100+, I reluctantly paid scalper price for him but I don't regret it one bit.
>>5237599
Oh, well that's good.
But I kinda cut my balls off already.
Eh, I think I'll like Gigan more than I ever did those annoying little sperm banks.
got revoltech gigan and anguirus for double or triple their msrp...NO REGERTS!
What are the pros and cons of the NECA and Monsterarts 2014 Godzilla?
>>5238568
Don't have the NECA, but
>SHMA
+great articulation
+nice matte finish
+nice beam effect if you get the Spitfire
+regular version can be bought for fairly cheap (like ~4000-5000y)
-regular version has no effects
-regular version has shoddy paint applications on the snout and teeth
-may have misaligned eyes (they're very tiny however, and can easily be fixed yourself)
+/-altered design may or may not be up to your tastes (I prefer the SHMA design over the screen-accurate design)
Also people say the tail pops off on the retail version, but I've never had that problem.
>>5238581
Er, the misaligned pupils part is a regular version issue. The Spitfire and Poster version doesn't have any issues regarding paint apps.
>>5238390
got them both for 35 each last year, they were in a storeroom, of a comic shop
>>5238588
we dont have comic shops in redneck hippie country here but hey glad to see some other people enjoying these underrated revoltech figures,
Can anyone living in NYC recommend any good places I can pick myself up some SHMA?
>>5239370
Barnes n Nobles
>>5239370
Mandarake
>>5239370
Toy Tokyo
So is monsterarts about dead? I mean... we barely hear from the line, and when they ever do make an announcement it's just a repaint. Or are they just raising this repaint money to fund a new kaiju? Even if that's the case then it sounds like the line isn't doing so hot.
No one will ever give us an articulated Megalon
>>5240185
Neca needs to save up for that one anon. Hopefully they'll make enough this year.
>>5240185
It's pretty baffling that in a time when Godzilla is the most popular it's been in 50 years or so, with a whole new series of both American and Japanese films on the way, that now is when they decide to wind down the line and do nothing with it.
>>5240188
I doubt it. Because of how long it takes for toho to approve of something, theyre Godzilla releases have slowed down insanely. Plus, from what Randy has said on an interview, their deal with toho allowed them one monster, so obviously they picked Godzilla. Buying Godzilla would be worth it because of how many theyd be able to pump out, but you wouldn't be able to do that with any of the other Kaiju, so it wouldn't be a smart investment. Atleast that's how he made it sound.
But on twitter waay waay back he did mention theyd like to do other monsters if possible or something like that.
I wonder if toho is what's holding up bandai with the SHMAs
>>5240190
Toho has been giving companies problems, no?
And even then, popularity doesn't really negate the apparent high licensing costs for other kaijus.
>>5240194
Bandai just have other things to pursue, they can afford it. Neca on the other hand really needs pr 2 to work out for them hopefully
>>5240196
Get a new meme going kid. Your "NECA is poor durr hurr" shit is fucking old as Cher.
>>5239416
Where are all these clearance sales I'm missing out on? I've heard there was a rebirth goji at $16 even kiryu was 60.
>>5240194
Rumor has it they're waiting til next year when Shin Godzilla comes out to jumpstart the line.
>>5240185
Well in a recent interview from bluefin they said that they will be focusing on statues... of kaiju they already have done.
>>5240527
Right cus there werent enough statues of Godzilla and friends
god fucking dammit.
Guys, I just, I just really want a nicely articulated Megalon.
And a Zilla.
Well Bluefin is officially shit.
Still waiting on a replacement for a defective G2000 recolor that I emailed them about in July.
I'm the anon who's local Barnes and noble had Kiryus clearenced to $62. I went there today, and the store had caught on fire. I hope the kiryus,if they were still there,survived..
>>5230746
Are you willing to sell it?
>>5241314
Yeah sure though not sure by how much those things knocks down the price. He also did come with a "defective" damaged head with some sort of burn or scratch across his face which I didn't care too much about since I just mostly kept him as the undamaged version.
>>5241802
Which one is it? S.H monster arts? I'm not too familiar with these figures. Can you post a pic? Or send me a mail to [email protected]
>>5241984
Yes it's Monsterarts, complete and everything with box and all accessories. Only thing is the damages I described. Probably should take this to a BST thread but hell if there's anyone here willing to bring up an offer email me at [email protected], gonna take best offer since I did pay the full $125 for this. Will put up pics of damages later on tonight after work.
This is how Godzilla 2016 is gonna look like, right?
>>5242402
I hope not, my hand will be impaled just by touching the monsterart.
Monsterarts are slightly smaller than NECA stuff on the whole? I've got MA gamera on the way and I'm thinking of picking up NECA's '54 to go with him.
>>5242791
Aside from the Legendary Godzillas that are about the same height, yeah, Necas are bigger.
>>5242812
Cool, I didn't know that about the legendary ones though. On that note, Amazon keeps recommending me the '14 monsterarts, is he an upgrade if I already own the neca one or is he on discount for a reason?
>>5242821
I got the NECA and the monsterarts Spitfire version.
I love the Spitfire one because of how much more colorful and visually interesting. The head's probably too big, but it gives it so much more room for detail and also it's got a more interesting paint wash.
My only complaint against it is how light it is and how creaky the plastic making me fear that it'll shatter if it ever takes a tumble.
If you love Legendary G's design, then I'd go with the Monsterarts. If you're more "eh" to it, then the NECA is a fine representation.
>>5240185
I think Toho is giving people some shit, NECA said they want to do more Godzillas but have to wait for thier approval.
>>5240523
Pretty sure thats just /toy/ speculation
>>5240527
I read an interview translated with google, but in it the heqd sculptor said he would love to do every monster, and that they have some sort of tech that will make it easier. He also said he wants to make showa KG. Also read one where the interviewer asked if we can expect any new figures or more repaints and they said "no comment".
>>5226345
Damn. I am digging this new camera.
>>5243408
Not digging 4chan rotating my pics tho...
>>5242402
honeybones G54 is the GOAT godzilla design
A while ago I bought my brother the Neca Burning Godzilla. Right out of the box the head fell off. The rest of the figure is perfect and it looks great but I cannot for the life of me get its head to pop on. Any tips on trying to fix this or is my brother stuck with a headless Godzooky?
>>5243694
Heat it up in hot water and push it down.
Unless the peg broke off or something.
>>5243763
So I should place the head in hot water? I'll try that out. The peg isn't broke as far as I can tell, it's still attached to the neck and all that. Is there a recommended temp to use or just "hot"?
>>5243813
Not quite boiling, just the head and then pop it on.
>>5243819
Awesome, I'll try that tomorrow morning. Thanks!
>>5241295
I checked on the site, I think they went down to fucking $31 at some point
>>5242896
The head sculptor wants to do more, but it seems that bandai doesnt. hopefully by the next movie we will see a boost in kaiju collecting and they will start making more figures again.
>>5242402
I'm throwing my money at my screen but nothing is happening
>>5243408
How is the 2000 recolor?
>>5226345
Guys what are some cheap Godzilla figures for someone who wants to get into collecting Kaijus?
>>5244730
Neca '54.
>>5244719
He's great. He's not the most posable, but his sculpt looks awesome.
>>5244784
I have the Birth and 1964 original from that line and I have been considering 2000 recolor and 2014 but I hear the latter has a lot of CQ issues..
>>5244790
God damn I need to get a hold of 1964 Godzilla
>>5244878
you should still be able to pre-order the emergence version
>>5242150
Hey it's anon selling somewhat damaged Kiryu here. Kinda in a rush but when I get back I can post better pics of figure if anyone is interested. Comes with everything just said damaged parts.
>>5245857
>>5245858
Pet and smoke free home.
>>5244730
NECA Gojis are usually around $20 a piece
I have the '54, '85, 2014, and video game ones and they're all solid figures
>>5245857
If youre going to sell it post your email dude
>>5246997
I did but here it is again [email protected]
>>5244730
You could also hope to get lucky by finding a monsterarts Godzilla for clearance at B&N.
>>5244730
any of the Necas, especially the 12 inch tall 2014. Also the Monsterarts 2014 has been very cheap for a while. you can get him used on amazon for only $35
I just won a Spacegodzilla on ebay for like 60+ shipped.
Is used and seems to be missing one of the smaller tail cover pieces, but it has its crystals and beam effect.
I do good, yah?
>>5226699
Is the one behind the 54 the vs Space Godzilla figure?
>>5248831
It's not broken, it's missing one of the small tail pieces that cover a joint.
>tfw no SHMA at tamashii nations
>>5254007
Why? WHY?
>>5254007
I thought I saw one there but it was just your mom.
>>5254007
>mfw Bandai would rather can the line then make Showa and Millennium monsters
>mfw that's exactly what they did
>>5254007
It was a good run while it lasted...We'll get dirty repaint and super gold repaint and I guess throw a few roses on the grave on one of the better Godzilla lines in the last decade...
Oh well...
>>5254242
I'm not ready for it to be dead. I'm waiting until these latest re-releases to see if the follow it up. I mean, they have 2 new Godzilla movies and a Gamera movie on the way. All they gotta do is release some new figs until then, and they'll hav all new shit to work with.
>>5244790
I am in your exact situation but i'm putting Spacegodzilla above 2000 in terms of need.
Does anyone have the Diamond Select banks? they look kinda nice aside from the flat paint apps

>>5240780
Dicks.
Dicks everywhere.
Buddy of mine ran into Newman at a con recently.
Asked about new figures in SHMA.
Was told, in a kind, PR friendly way, tough shit stop complaining we're sick of your whining. Apparently Bluefin and Bandai are sick of the bitching.
>>5255564
You forgot Megalon, that hurts the most for me.
>>5255714
Christ, seriously? That's fucking bullshit.
>NECA will never do Millenium Goji or a Kiryu
>>5255736
Yeeeep. Friend said he was a little agitated just TALKING about the line and wanted to move on to a different line, specifically the movie realization stuff.
Pretty sad.
>>5255737
Why wouldnt the do mellinium goji?
>>5255567
>>5255737
>we'll never get Stokoegoji
>>5255811
no rights for it i'm guessing.
>>5255714
If that's true, why though? Poor sales? I wouldn't even be as mad if they gave us some closure. Don't just turn your heads away from it as if it never existed, goddamn.
>>5255811
>>5255934
They have the rights to make any version of Godzilla, Toho has to approve it first though, which apparently has been a huge pain in the ass.
You know, between Anno taking fucking forever to release the Rebuild films and Toho being dicks about their licenses, its a goddamn miracle Godzilla 2016 has made it as far as it has.
>>5255714
Well we know how to respond to THAT don't we?
...More bitching and whining lads!
>>5256137
It won'tchange anything except annoy them, so thats fine with me. I wish we knew how well the monsterarts line sells, that would help us know if it has a chance or not.
>>5256153
I feel like Toho is really keeping things under wraps for the new movie, sort of like how Disney did with Star Wars. Godzilla is their baby, makes sense they want to keep as close of a grip they can on it.
>>5255714
Well what do they expect when releases turn to nothing but repaints and even then slow down to a trickle without any official explanation or reasoning. Like goddamn, of course fans of the line are gonna bitch when you leave them hanging and completely in the dark.
Any good Godzilla forums to post on? All I'm really finding that is still active is Toho kingdom. Are they worth joining?
>>5257048
i tried TK for a few days, honestly most threads, escpecially toy/monsterarts threads decended into just dumb arguments
>>5257048
TK is a cesspool, you're better off here. I lurk from time to time, all that really matters are what the people who work with Bluefin post. Everything else is garbage.
>>5257079
HAHAHAHA! No. And when he does post information, it's often erroneous due to him not knowing his ass from his elbow. We're talking about the tool who claimed that Birth Version had new parts here.
Besides, that double dealer tried to manipulate the idiots there using his inside info.

>>5260101
Do you have the other one? It looks nice, moves nice, I really couldn't fault you for buying it.
>>5260101
>special color
I would hold out for the original. Them purple spines are too awesome to trade for the "special" boring colors. Or you could get both.
>>5226345
I fucking love it. I bought mine the afternoon after I saw a post on here about it. It just looked so goddamn fun. And it is. He's so expressive!
>>5254242
Don't feel that way. Godzilla is such an enduring character that this line will basically only be dormant just like Hi Metal. With a new movie coming out i guarantee we will see some life breathed into it. it would be like Hasbro killing star wars. it just is too much of a pop culture icon at this point for them to not make more
>>5260458
> Hold out for the original
What does that even mean? The only way to get it is to pay a scalper. Now or 5 years from now.
>>5260765
Maybe someone will sell it here or some other forums for cheaper if it's broken/no box
>>5260758
Yeah we're pretty much guaranteed to get a Shin Godzilla figure at least.
Just scored the Cloverfield monster on evay for 160. Pretty excited for it.
>>5255714
>releases 90% Heisei figures
>repaint and re-releases everywhere
>so many quality issues for such expensive figures
I just don't get them. Is it Toho behind all this shit?
Ways to fix/save the SHMAs line:
>Kill the SHMA line and merge it with SHF like Ultra Act.
>Reduce the size of the figures to at least the SSSHF size and cut the price of each figure down.
>Release a Showa figure in between a Heisei or Millennium figures.
>Release fan popular monsters, but on Exclusive Bandai.
>Re release certain figures every 6 or so months to keep Scalping at bay.

It's mainly Toho.
These are the people who had a shit fit when "Godzilla: Save the Earth" changed the color of Godzilla(Red,Blue,Green) when Player 1,2,3,4 all picked Godzilla.
They're like GW is with WH40k.
>>5265379
You are aware that the Ultraman SHFs are completely different figures, yes?
Should have said D-arts.
>>5265490
I'm aware, I meant that how Ultra Act was a Line, but now has merged with SHF, so should the SHMA line.
>>5265494
>but now has merged with SHF
Except that has been anything but confirmed. Don't make assumptions = fact.
Nobody wished Godzilla a happy 61st borthday the other day?
I gotta watch Gojira this week and celebrate.
>>5265379
The thing is that Bandai basically holds all the rights for Godzilla now. They are the reason companies like Marmit, M1, Gigabrain, and other companies cant make new sculpts anymore. Bandai is holding the license to themselves just so they can do nothing with it. Even X plus has to go through bandai to get their license, thats why there have been x plus figures like the roaring godzilla 2014 and biollante being sold on bandai's premium shop. I just wish we could have the variety we once had with godzilla figures. As of now we are pretty much only getting new sculpts from X plus as bandai seems too lazy and everyone else isnt allowed to make any.
>>5265379
Oh hey, you're the dipshit that thinks Ultra-Act being killed off for Figuarts is a good thing. Why do you want giant monsters and heroes to be in the same scale with six-foot-tall characters in the first place?
>mfw spitfire G14 still has fucked up eyes
>still no Jet Jaguar
I'm not even upset anymore, I feel embarrassed for Bandai at this point. Why have they not tackled hardly ANY of the Showa monsters?
>>5266158
because they suck and are dumb and I hate them
>>5261097
Holy shit
It wasn't too long ago those things were $700+
What made them drop so drastically?
>>5266569
I don't have a definite answer to your question, but I will say every time I watch Cloverfield I end up liking it less and less.
>>5265918
Yes, I do think it's a good idea.
>Releases for the Ultra Monsters again.
>Possibly better quality figures.
>Possibly same scale as Figuarts.
Can you think of a soild reason why keeping the line as "Ultra Act" will help it in anyway?
-----------------
>"Why do you want giant monsters and heroes to be in the same scale with six-foot-tall characters in the first place?"
Why would it matter unless you're planning on putting your Riders, Ultras, or other Figuarts next to the monsters? Only thing that would be different would be that you could use Godzilla as a more in scale Kaijin for the hell of it.
Another reason is possible price decrease, even if in the slightest.
Something has to give if people want more monster figures, plus if you want a Taller Godzilla figure, the NECA versions are for you.
>>5267118
>Possibly better quality figures.
Ultra-Acts were just as "quality figures" as Figuarts. They were different, but they weren't shitty.
>Possibly same scale as Figuarts.
Why is that necessarily a good thing?
>>5267240
>"Ultra-Acts were just as "quality figures" as Figuarts. They were different, but they weren't shitty."
I'm not disagreeing with that fully, though I have had a few questionable figures from the line, as well from the Figuarts line.
>"Why is that necessarily a good thing?"
It's not necessarily a bad thing either, it's a chance to try something new and see how the market likes it. Otherwise would you rather get the same mold/figure again, just repackaged under a new name with a possible price up?
If SHMA where like $50-100+, the standard Ultras would be around $40-$50 just based on the size alone.
is kiryu heavy arms worth the 120 price tag? i have and love the original kiryu but im just wonderign if worth?
>>5267513
If you have the original? Eh, not so much. You get some different parts and pieces, for sure, and it makes him more movie accurate/centric. It's still a great figure, and if you want them all, you can do worse. But if you're not needing a Kiryu, and don't want to spend the money, you're fine.
1964 Emergence when
I CAN'T WAIT
>>5267118
The Ultra Kaiju point is the only good point there.
>>5266158
Jet Jaguar's only popular in America and Hideaki Anno's house.
What's everyone's opinion on the hg series? I love these tiny figure.
>>5268290
theyre cool, though some loo kinda messed up, like the SOS godzilla that had a really fucked up mouth
>>5226705
Cozilla
>>5226699
It will Either be one of the following:
>KKvsG Goji
>1964
>1974
Monster wise, I doubt we'll see any until later 2016-early 2017.
>>5269086
My guess is 2004 godzilla.
My hope is either 1962 or 1974
>>5248911
>>5248826
So I got him this week, turns out the tail was an easy fix.
So his only issues are slightly dusty in his many lizard crevices and a small paint scratch on his right shoulder crystal.
I'm feeling pretty good.
>>5226699
I'd be happy with anything but my hype train consists of:
2000 - I like the colors and it'll probably stay together better than the Bandai one (heard lots of issues)
GMK - Fucking love that blind fatty
Final War - To fight Final War Gigan
70's Megalon/Mechagodzilla design - Because that's what I grew up on as a kid
>>5270076
When Neca is able to:
>Do other monsters.
>Release a Heisei Ghidorah and Mothra.
Hey /kaiju/ what should be my first godzilla figure? I prefer statues and I don't care for articulation or whatever, if you could help me find something neat, that'd be great.
>>5271450
X-Plus Godzilla 2014
>>5271456
Looks really fucking cool, wish I had 350 on me for it.
>>5271423
Either when NECA makes enough dough from the Godzilla line to pay for more monsters
or
When Toho decides to stop being assholes about their properties
>>5271904
>Either when NECA makes enough dough from the Godzilla line to pay for more monsters
Neca is stingy as fuck. Plenty of US businesses have licensed other Godzilla monsters. Diamond, IDW, Trendmasters. The cost for those rights isn't unreasonable, Neca just doesn't care because its not some cult 80's shit.
>>5271450
Depends on what scale you want.
If you want quality figures around 6 inches, I'd say the bandai Japan vinyls BUT after market prices are a bitch.
If you want bigger scale with amazing quality, like 12" or so, then xplus. But the prices for those are also crazy expensive.
If you want a 6" scale, and want to pay cheap, with varying from bad to just pretty good then get Bandai creations.
Those are my recommendations for non articulated figures.
If you don't mind articulation and want a good quality Godzilla get NECA's 1954. That's the only one I recommend. Good quality figure for only like $19, and easy to find too. That the only NECA one I'd recommend
Monsterarts is the best when it comes to overall quality and articulation but youre paying loads of money for articulation, so it probably isnt worth it to you
I think bandai announced a line called Monsterarts Zero I think? Basically going to be like monsterarts, just with no articulation
>>5271917
Oh god, if they replace Monsterarts with Monsterarts Zero...
>>5271921
>We finally get Megalong, Jet Jaguar, Hedorah, etc
>It's monsterarts zero
Ive never taken the time to write hateful email, but I swear to god bandai......
>>5271927
>But we swear it's just as good!
>>5271921
if the fucking do this...
>>5260101
Yes
>>5272892
would you rather have a vinyl 3 poa jet jaguar or a statue?
>>5273020
Neither? I mean...I don't know. This whole ordeal is just getting more and more stupid. I think it's unfortunate that we can't even enjoy the chance of new figures.
How's the MonsterArts for the 1964 Godzilla?
>>5275872
good
a bit too small, but good overall
So I'm aware I'm a bit late on this one, but what is the general feel on Neca's Otachi (land version)?
>>5257048
Don't join the Godzilla Collector's Group on Facebook. It's a cesspool of faggots. Vinyl Kaiju Legion is pretty cool though.
>>5276857
The group's set to invite only now, so chances are he couldn't join the Collector's Group even if he wanted to.
>>5276347
Pretty incredible. I have both versions, both very hefty, solid creatures. The articulation is good, and they managed to make the split-jaw feature work quite well.
>>5276891
Thanks
I got the reissue of SHMA 1995 Goji. Whoever said the reissue had harder plastic was right, because the plastic does feel more stiffer, and no torso issues whatsoever.
>>5277875
>no torso issues whatsoever
fuck... seriously? How much is it going for?
I wanna get rid of the one I have, I can't touch it without the torso coming apart
>>5276891
Iz fuckin awesome
>>5226347
jesus...that looks horrible.
>>5226505
This figure is NOT movie accurate.

Good, but falls apart like a motherfucker.
Japanese Godzilla got a new title, trailer screening tonight, probably won't be online for awhile unless it leaks.
>>5279805
we'll be ready
>>5279805
>Resurgence
Lame, I like Shin Gojira better.
