This one was probably my all-time favorite as a kid. That giant well-lit pit... Funny enough, I was thinking of scanning my old catalogs before you started posting these. Mine are a few years older (1984-1994). I might do that today.

And I don't have a flickr, but between the LQ wiki and the suptg archive, just about everything I've made outside of /toy/ is online:

GET HYPE

All I've got with me right now is the 2000 mini-catalog that came with the Millennium Falcon...and no scanner.
>>
>>4531231
Everyone who Legos should use Flickr. There's a large afol community there and it comes with a free terabyte of storage. There's no reason not to.
>>
>>4531246
I can understand why some don't. For a variety of reasons.

>>4531231
Fright knight torsos can't be very expensive, they'd be the least popular of the pre-2000 castle themes, at least. Catch me on another beer and Lego night and I might even shout you some.

I'm so impatient, but BrickLink's setup really seems to take forever if you've got a problem with a seller not responding. First, you have to wait a week to file the non-responsive seller report, then they have another two weeks before it actually cancels the order. While all that's going on, I'm sitting here unwilling to put in another order for the same item because if the guy comes back in three weeks and goes "Oh damn an order!" I'll be the one with the negative feedback if I don't come through. Guy hasn't bothered to log in since May, his items shouldn't be listed for sale anymore.
>>
>>4531264
I probably wouldn't get it if it weren't for the filename.

Hi there!
My son and me wanted to ask you guys how many minifigures we could possible buy for 50€ (~62$)?
Or should we buy a lot of seperate parts like legs, torsos, heads etc. from bricklink?
We have a lot of bricks, but we're missing figures to make everything look lively.

I guess multiple generals cancer moved to Bionicle threads.
>>
>>4531284
it really depends on the type of minifig. and if they're used or new. you can get a whole lot of city and catle figs with that money.
>>
>>4531290
that's just some shitposter being butthurt because "stop liking what i don't like". all that crap about hero factory being inferior to bionicle and some shit
>>
>>4531291
We'd be happy if we could a mix of new figures and old / really old figures, a lot of different hairs and hats. My son dislikes plain shirt torsos because the figures tend to look very similiar in the end, I like them, but I guess he's smarter than me.
The skin color doesnt matter (nougat(?) or yellow).

Would it be better to look for specific minifigure parts on bricklink and then just order them?
>>
>>4531315
Probably, any minifig lot will most likely contain lots of plain City torsos.
>>
>>4531315
you would have to add a lot of parts ot your list, but if you take the time you could have a wide variety of parts and whole figs in your wanted list then find a store full of them
>>
>>4531315
>>4531394
you can also define a max cost so you can be sure to buy very cheap figs

i have begun my first phase of some sort of gondorian/numenorean/silmarillion battlement or castle. the end product will take up the space of 9 15x15 grey baseplates. this is the first set of wall and will probably be made over again when i get my next brick order. both battlements will bracket a very large gate. the battlement is right around 2 feet tall.

sometimes you just get tired of the LoTR sets and want to make your own, y'know?

(i am calling it osgiliath for now for lack of a better name)

the outward walls will later be removed and replaced with a far larger fortification that will also have a parapet and smaller towers. my third shipment of bricks probably wont make it to my work table until after christmas, so this whole undertaking sounds to me like it will take at least a couple years to complete.

Well, the AT-AT is always AT-AT, definitively one of the if not the coolest vehicle in the saga. However if you have an earlier one it's not that big of a differnce, the latest 3 AT-ATs are more or less the same.

The republic gunship.. Man, it's great. Sturdy build, very fun too, huge, menacing. Great minifigs too. I'm probably biased but I love Clone Wars too, so I'd probably recommend the Gunship.

I mean it is one year older than the AT-AT, so if you want it you have more time to get the AT-AT. No matter what you pick, you'll not be disappointed.

Only by design, the actual meaning has drifted to a noun, undeniably. Do you still consider Tupperware to be an adjective coupled to some (x) where (x) is some variety of container? How about kleenex (x) where (x) is something along the lines of "tissues"?

My linguist-autist self won't permit the constraining of language from organic change.

I've only gotten to play twice so far, but I'm waiting for when I get enough stuff to have a grand castle battle and have an adventuring party traveling around like the old days. Actually, I never did the latter as a kid, so having a core group going around on quests will be a fun and new thing to try.

It's not the same as building physically, but it's probably the closest I'll get for a long time.
