Does anyone else try not to buy figures over $100, it feels irresponsible to spend that much on a figure.
paid $30 for him on mandarake stains and all
but whos laughing now?
I normally wouldn't, but as a diehard Samurai Pizza Cats fan I have sworn to myself to buy any new merchandise that comes out, and earlier this year Evolution Toys announced a Supreme Catatonic for their Dynamite Action line. And after doing a bit of Googling, figures in that line often seem to go for well over $100 right off the bat.
is that nendoroid red over $100 yet?
it's my current white whale, but I dare not hunt it for fear of depression
I spent almost $1,000 on this fucker.
>>4526758
I'm so sorry.
>>4526722
>stains
ehhhh....I just cant bring myself to own something that has been jizzed on
>>4526716
I second that notion. I've been wanting Blodia for about two months since I've known of it's existence, but that pricetag makes me feel uncomfortable. Same for Charming Drossel and the blank Figmas. Speaking of which, what are they called again?
Only way to justify that is by the sheer rarity of that figure and you're willingness to have that figure in collection. I've been eyeing that ThreeA Metal Gear Rex but even with the disposable income added in that's something to think about.
>tfw I've spent over $200 on individual chogokins
I have no regrets.
>>4526716
Better get used to it poorfag that's going to be the standard MSRP for figmas by 2016.
>>4526901
Figma Archetype
>>4526947
Fucking Abenomics
>>4526952
Thanks!
>>4526716
I do, but when it was the figures I really, REALLY want and promotion/sample pictures REALLY convinced me then I don't mind spending that much.
Rarely happen though. I only remember spending around that much with SOG Max Otoha Karas, SIC Kiwami-Tamashii Den-Liner set, SRC Genesic Gaogaigar, and upcoming SRC Mazinkaiser SKL renewal.
most figures over 100 bucks tend to go up in value over time, so go nuts
Paid $120 for Pumpkin Billy
260$ for figma insane blackrock shooter
100$ for figma blackrock shooter beast
100$ for figma guts berserker armor
MFW regret nothing
>>4526926
>I have no regrets.
I was ready to call bullshit, then I remembered you can easily sell all of those off for as much as you paid, if not more. Even if you had regrets they'd be irrelevant.
i'm exactly in this situation right now. been wanting to get this figure for a while now and it popped up online. worth 12000 yen so that's over a hundred dollars for a figure. it does feel irresponsible. heck, even hot toys are kind of a stupid investment really. i owned one before and sold it after a few days. it just felt so wrong haha. inb4 dolls
>>4526758
Dude, im thinking about spending >60 on a mezco hellboy so maybe i'm not the one that should be saying this but: WHY?
It looks dollar-bin-ish. Sell it.
>>4527238
WHAT THE F*(K ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? is that even english?!
>>4527521
In that scenario berserker guts is totally work it. I got mine for $200 and don't regret it
>>4527776
>work
Fuck I mean worth
>>4526716
Nope. I buy them if I want them. But I then again I don't consider $100 being that much money anyways. I mean I work 3 hours and it's paid for.
Most expensive thing I bought was SPEC SOC Eva-02 from Mandarake for 100 dollars. Totally worth it. Eva-01 only set me back 90 recently. I don't buy a lot over that price range so I agree with you for the most part, but I do plan on buying that diecast Gurren Lagann, SOC Gunbuster and the Lagann figure that comes with Simon once I have a fair amount of money. Which one should I go after first?
>>4526716
$100 for a figure is expensive?
Seriously?
$100 is the least I pay for my toys.
Quality makes it worth it.
But then $100 is barely a drop in the bucket for me.
I don't normally compute my monthly toy expenses because I just buy what I want.
That's the way. You gotta pay if you gotta play.
Hell, I just bought that "life-size" Optimus statue because I thought it would look good beside my toy shelf.
While I am willing to pay over 100 bucks for a figure, it had better be reeeeaaal fuckin' special.
>>4526716
>Does anyone else try not to buy figures over $100
I guess not. 40 figures on display and only one of them was under $100
>>4526722
>paid $30 for him
No way! I have to see this, i've looked for him on eBay and goddamn
I try to keep it under a hundred but i am planning on buying this one
>>4531282
When does this release? I think my local shop may be taking preorders for it.
>>4531300
In December, from what i've heard around the 20th
Another pic of the Sonico figure, i'm pretty stoked for this one and can't wait to buy it
>>4531300
Which shop is that btw? It doesn't happen to be a store in holland? If a store here can preorder it then i'm contacting them asap
>>4531307
http://www.nakamatoys.com/
Most I've spent was $79 or so for Manga Realization BAOH. If the figure is very good quality & a nice size, I could shell out over $100 for it, IF I have that money to burn
>>4531309
Many thanks Brack! I'll check it out
>>4527537
In my eyes used toys will always be more precious than new ones
and they're always cheaper, too
>>4526716
I keep 80 as a rough limit.
Then again I mostly collect 1/12 and 1/144 figures, a bunch of Bugmen and Gundams.
There are a few things I'd consider going above 100 for. SoC Big O, or the Dendrobium kit, but it's a very small list regardless.
But it'd have to be something nice and substantial, just cause I want some Web Exclusive bugmen does make it worth a benjamin to me.
>>4527819
Timestamped pic or bullshit.
>>4531409
don't even bother, he posts the same shit in every thread. It's always the same "Pay if you wanna play" shit.
About to pay $150
Yes it includes kawajiri head.
We will see if I regret.
>>4526716
is that that gay pornstar?
>>4527732
Its Leokaiser from Transformers Victory, from what I heard he's bitch to get in good condition because the one leg is GPS: The Toy.
>>4531436
It's Billy Herrington. He's actually bisexual IIRC.
>>4527819
>$100 is the least I pay for my toys.
Don't you mean the least your daddy or mommy pays for your toys?
>>4531410
I can confirm that I've seen the exact same post before.
>>4531435
Oh no...
Depends on the figure.
For 1/6 scale, I'll try to keep it at an average 250-300 depending on if its not in production, otherwise 200 average if it is.
For minimates, never more than 30 bucks (and thats for super rare out of production or completely overpriced shit like Gambit)
I spent $150 on this red behemoth. Bitch is the size of a newborn baby and rule all the other figures on my dresser. Next on my grail list is the toddler-sized Macross.
>>4526777
lmao
>>4526901
I hugely, hugely regret not buying this guy when he briefly went on sale after his release.
I'll never understand the Japanese figure market. They first release an expensive figure, nobody buys it, so they raise the price, nobody still buys it, suddenly it disappears, and the price skyrockets into the quad digits.
Spent $120 on this little bitch. Of all the SDCC minifigs they've done, she was the one I absolutely had to have.
Though the Zur-En-Arrh is very tempting.
>>4527737
What happen to your wife?
