Blastoff looks cool, but I'd love to see better pictures of him. Can't say that I regret getting the Hasbro Blastoff because I'm not seeing that big of a difference in the profile in arm mode (which is how he'll forever stay). I'm also fairly sure we'll eventually get a US release of the figure (as well as Groove), so if my OCD gets too bad about it, I'll just get that.

The whole design seems to be very tolerance-based according to various reports of owners of the Hasbro mold. Some peoples' can't clip in well, others' can.
Blast Off's chest looks kinda weird, honestly. But I have a weakness for shuttleformers.
Also don't like how low Vortex's blades sit, but I'm sure it could be fixed with modding, and he's a sell for me if he's toon colors rather than the rainbow colors Hasbro used on their deco.

At least Onslaught and Vortex's colors are spot on. Can't really tell if Blastoff is the right shade of brown though, because the picture is too grainy. I like how the purple on his chest pops, though.

I'm unpacking toys, and I had this moment where I was transforming a few things (Universe Stormcloud, Human Alliance Wreckers, Stratosphere, etc), and I just hit with this wave of apathy. Like there's a ton of toys I have that I just really don't care about or have fun with, and they've spent the better part of a year in storage... I might not even want them.
I'm unsure if I'll be culling things down, or even how I'll get rid of them when I do. Most of the things I want to part with nobody wants to buy (like DotM product or Universe Depth Charge), so... ever get like this, /toy/?

Celebrating BWs without putting emphases on CW would have hurt them. CWs is selling crazy good and already many of the club limbs preorders are sold out at places saying they will get them. Untied warriors is importing well, over all CW as a brand is working.
So I feel they were stuck at a losing position.
Personally I think the wisest would have been to celebrate BW but make all the toys CW guys such as the Wrecker Combiner Ruination or one inspired from the Micro Combiners.

Given some bots are pretty small, and others have huge alt modes, it isn't much of a stretch to think those cockpits could be for the tinier bots to hitch a ride in, or be able to take control of the bigger bots for possibly finer movement at times.

The issue you are failing at here is understanding the monetary value and secondary market.
You cant really invest in a secondary market with beer, cigarettes or hookers because two are consumables and one is a service.
I get your saying people blow money on questionable things but that doesn't justify the actions. People normally don't blow 30 times over the value on a single beer or pack of cigs. And most people don't spend 30 times the going rate of a hooker, (at that rate you be cheaper getting a mail order bride)
And most people would find blowing money on toys questionable but blowing 30 times the retail amount on a toy because it's "rare" is very questionable. Your money? Absolutely but that doesn't magically bar you from criticisms of how wasteful it is.

Toys don't work like that. They have a very shaky market that demands finding the buyer willing to pay the cost and usually it still doesn't justify the time and energy put into it. Most of the time working minimum wage will equate to better profits than trying to flip toys on the secondhand market.
On top of that toys crash in value once open and if you are not then planning to fly/drive in, to lose hours both in travel time and in lines just to get something you may flip for double what you paid in cash in isn't a good strategy.
Really it's why Funpub is getting phased out, their market isn't really working at getting the fans on board and makes most roll their eyes at what they are getting for the cost.
Also any car collector will tell you they have standers on costs they will pay if
there intent is to flip, they are not careless and blow millions on a car model because it's paint coat is 'rare'.

But your analysis is spot-on. I had many weird Spidey toys and G2 TFs as a kid, so I love this aesthetic. Superion is the best CW combiner, the colors are radical 2 the max, the price is good, and mine has really tight joints (way tighter than my original Aerialbots pre-floor polish) and overall great QC.
