I just threw this together, and I'll try to update it in the future. It seemed like Bandai were staying true to the poll at first...but now it just seems like they're doing whatever they want. You could always put some material on the inside of the hand, whether something mundane like a piece of tissue or actually build up the material with floor polish or super glue. The latter could result in a mess if you're not extremely careful.
In the case of kiva la though, just put the sword all the way into her hand so that it touches the hilt. That should result in a much firmer grip.

In the case of Vader, it might be better that you aren't a fan. He's a very solid figure, but some choices, like his permanently posed cape, are kind of odd. Otherwise, he's a solid all-around Figuarts release.
Maul is probably the best one to date in the line. His articulation feels somewhat hindered, but he's capable of plenty of cool poses

I just got my Battle Droid in the mail.
The hips are less articulated than normal Figuarts but we're spoiled by those. They're still plenty articulated for posing, just not dynamic enough for martial arts shenanigans or super-wide stances.

I didn't pre-order them right away, but I sent back and watched some of the new series. Needless to say, it pumped me up and I've got both figures in pre-order now. I know it's a different scenario, but I'm pretty sure Suguru and Warsman were available for pre-order for quite a while. A year later, and now we have 6 Kinnikuman figures out this year, two more on the horizon, and several more prototypes.

I don't think I ever saw this here before, but here were the choices for the figuarts survey they had this year at NYCC. Probably shouldn't look too into it since it's just a Bluefin poll but it's interesting how long Metroid has been an option on these at this point. That and Lupin ended up getting revealed about a month later.
There's a similar one from a Brazil show from this month. It's much smaller in options and the only interesting choice is the Jiraiya metal hero series listed.

Because that's what they planned. Did we see proto Microman Jigen, Goemon or Zenigata? No, we didn't. Did we see SHF protos? Yes, we did.

It's solid, but you need to be careful moving it. Thankfully, some of the joints will release smoothly to prevent breakage if you are moving it wrong.

With Sonic, it's pretty clear cut who will be the normal releases:

On an additional note, I would like to see Playset releases like with Mario. Item Boxes/TVs, Rings, Chaos Emeralds, Goal Posts/Rings. What I DON'T like to see carry over from Mario is limited articulation and dated scaling of characters to mimic just the 2D games. That was an awful decision, and I don't care if that means I have to pay more.
Also if and when Shadow comes out, I expect an event when Bandai mimics the SA2 Title Sequence of the two jumping in front of the moon because they know that will tickles the fans' balls.

I think provided that Bandai can make Metal Sonic without being too expensive, he can get a regular release.
I remember an interview or report saying sometimes some SHF are exclusives simply because producing them at mass release will be too costly even if they sold really well. I know Metal Sonic is very detail intensive, so who knows. But on the popularity side I think he can go over very well.

I think I might just be a little pessimistic here. Forgive me if I don't think NBA will take off. That said, a single Robocop wouldn't be bad. Most of these licenses I just don't think would do very well. Star Wars and to a lesser extent Marvel movies are worldwide pop culture phenomena, and while stuff like nice BttF SHF would be nice I just see it tanking immediately. The musical artists haven't done too well. I know Daft Punk is high on the aftermarket but didnt they shelfwarm a bit? And you can still get MJ for damn cheap.

BttF doesn't really need many releases to placate the majority of fans. Just do Marty and Doc in their most memorable outfits plus the DeLorean.I have seen some Japanese collectors and reviewers who do what few BttF stuff there is, so I am assuming they like it (probably for the special effects a la toku).
NBA (and WWE) I can agree on not being too great. It would interesting to see them do a couple of notable participants in each, but I don't the sales will far from those stars.

So glad I pre-ordered the first night they went up.
I successfully pre ordered Phasma but Kylo keeps slipping through my fingers. He will be mine though. Right now waiting for Revoltech Ultron to show up then it and my clone troopers and droids will be shipped.
So I just got my droids. These little fuckers are fun as hell. My only gripes are that there are no thigh or ankle swivels, the hips are a bit limited, and the elbows don't go past a 90 degree angle. I love how they handled the torso and knees and this guy is probably one of my favorite figures of this year. I could see myself getting more rank variants of them, especially if they come with different weapons.
