***READ THE GUIDE****

For those of you just joining us, please read this guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.

For those unfamiliar, "Plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model." If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.

Gunpla/Plamo Secret Santa!

Sign ups run until December 4th. I'll try to have everyone paired up by December 6th.

Like last year, I'm going to have everyone fill out a Google form so I can collect the information easily.

Also, if you have some kits in your backlog that you are willing to part with feel free to email me a list and estimated values.

***Disclaimer***
If you want to enter with stuff in your backlog, that's fine, but please be aware I may not be able to pair you with someone who wants something you have to give away. If you cannot afford to purchase a new kit in case of that, please just hold off this year.

Ghost posessed grimoire. Only done the butchering on the torso section pending the actual modification. I'm going to be running a line of LEDs through the kit to put behind some effects I'm making for it that'll have ghost stuff essentially coming out of the damage.

Should be neat.

Gundamguy is straight informative, but I don't follow it so much as go there when I need to see pictures of recent news.

I don't know really anywhere else to go for info, as I get all the technique tutorials I could want on youtube.

A lot of other gunpla blogs I've seen are generally run by dicks.

>New mold color made impact knuckles (can be exchanged to Impact Edge)
>Elbow joint parts for attaching Frame Arms "Architect" front arm
>3mm joint parts included for front arm part. Also, knee features 3mm diameter big peg attachable attachments on both sides.
>5 types of PVC made hand parts. Hand part can be exchanged with previously released Frame Arms Girls series hand parts.
>Left arm and right leg part to recreate image illustration (knee and elbow joints not articulated)

>>
I recently got a kit from Mandy and it completely reeked of basement. This is common for goods from that site, at least in my experience, but usually the smell wears off once I get the items into open air. This one, however, I guess its stink wasn't just the packing materials it came in. Even after being built & left in the garage a few days, there's an awful scent. Anything I can do about it?
>>
>>5303479
I've gotten temp banned for doing that before so do it at your own risk

I'm looking to make some grunt suits.

Clanche or adele?
>>
>>5303491
Is there any way of explaining to the mods about the situation on the affected boards?
>>
>>5303485

ive bought stuff from mandy regularly for 4 years or so, never had that problem ever. The worst thats happened to me was they sent me the wrong order so i got a huge stack of hentai instead of kits. After contacting them, they let me keep the hentai and re sent the kits once stock came in. cant complain. if you'd left it packaged theres maybe something you could have done but too late now youve opened & built it.
>>
>>5303485
Dip it in febreeze?

Anything I should know?
>>
>>5303496
Personally I'd go with the Adele because I like my all-rounders, but both are top-tier.
>>
>>5303527

its the best rx-78 for engineering & articulation so if you like the look of it go for it. Animufags like the 2.0 for looking like the original series (no detail basically and the worst articulation of the MG's behind the 1.0), the OYW version has dated articulation but great panel lining & details while keeping the proportions of the original series ...and theres the new origin version which i dont own so cant comment on. It looks nice i guess but after buying 4 rx78's fuck who cares anymore. someone else will have it to talk about.

>>5303500
I've gotten 2 kits from them before, the contents of their boxes smelled similarly, but it passed, so I assumed it came from the bubblewrap or something. This shit was unreal. For about $3 I gues I can't complain, but still. As far as leaving it packaged was concerned, DHL literally destroyed the box during a random inspection, so I might have been screwed on that front to begin with. The built kit doesn't fill the room with odor as the sprues/box/manual did (had to throw them all out), but a deep sniff up close will not go unpunished.

>>5303506
I kinda get the impression it'd then just smell like a febreezed basement. My allergies are sensitive to the stuff anyway, unfortunately.

A hyaku shiki might be good too.
Basically a scaled down MG 2.0 with articulation fixed, as I heard the one with the mega particle cannon had articulation issues.

>>5304021
A GM with RX-78-2 articulation would fuck me up so great
>>
>>5304028
Yeah, I wouldn't mind a Revive Shiki. I think the area of gold kits is over though, it would probably be cast in that faux-gold mustard colour. Not that I'm complaining, just a comment.

Thinking about the Alex, I don't know how much could be done as far as improvements beyond basic articulation bumps could go. All of those verniers are very small and dual coloured, doesn't seem like there's an efficient way to colour-correct them outside of painting.

Mg heavyarms is apparently selling well at barnes&noble to the point bluefin was having trouble keeping up with demand.
>>
>>5304259

We're mostly talking hg. A couple of the wing mg getting made p bandai is different. Due to higher price and production costs, mg are riskier investments than hg are, which is why bandai will throw out stuff like the zII as an hg, but it will never see any mg release.

An hg of the other AC gundams is entirely possible. RG is a different story, although bandai did show that they were interested in it with that one poster image.
>>
>>5304286
>Bandai
>Carrying about their foreign demographic
Just because us burgerfags liked Wing so much, doesn't mean the Bandai overlords give two shits about it.
>>
What are some non-hobby specific brand topcoats you recommend?
>>
>>5304304
Burgerland is pretty much the reason why bandai still makes dbz figures and keeps old wing kits in near continous production instead of like once a year like other older series.
>>
>>5304300
No, the reason why we got a ZII is because a recolored version was one of the lead suits in the game with the Pale Rider. We aren't getting any new Wing media from Banrise like we are with UC. Without something to promote it even HGs aren't going to happen, Bandai has proven that by skipping suits like the Guncannon Detector and Gustav despite their cameos in Unicorn.

The reality is that non-lead Wing suits aren't going to get shit from the mass distribution gunpla lines.
>>
the more people beg for something, the less Bandai will cater to it, especially if the gaijins are the one begging.

the altron was pretty much a 'fuck you' to all gaijins,

ive noticed the elevens have stopped completely pandering to westerners lately, not just with gunpla but with video games, cars, action figures, etc.

>>
>>5304386
Where's the evidence that they are? Other asian nations have P-Bandai shops even if they stock late, Bandai only acknowledges the US because Bluefin is trying their damnedest to bring it over. Ex. Gundam info campaigns are arranged by bluefin and only available through bluefin partners.
>>
>>5304390
Well thats because of demand and whatnot. So it makes sense that there isnt a pbandai shop in the states. With my experience in retail, people dont buy foreign stuff cuz "the instructions arent in English". Also depends where, so i can kinda see a bandai shop in la, new york and prolly oahu since thered be some interest. I mean yea its shitty but atleast theres still websites and sellers that stock up on em, so us westernbros aren't completely forgot about

Like over where i live, the hobbyshop owner personally goes over to japan/Thailand and stocks up on em. He doesnt get p-bandai but he gets dm or mc kits aswell. Shat myself when i saw that he had the gp04 and astray head bust aswell as the xi and dm tallgeese
>>
Pretty sure most Americans here can tell that Bandai doesn't exactly hate or not care about the Western market in general. Look at IBO, they're pushing that shit hard over here. But at the same time, they're not investing in having any Expos or official shops here. It's not that complicated.

Stop taking the bait, nerds

LBX kits are great fun, I finally got around to building my Ezeldee and even without stickers or paint it looks great.

But it made me sad to think how they were a non gundam line on SD budget, if only a bit higher, with care put into it while SD Ex standards got shafted with no budget and even more stickers and gaps. If they had been LBX style gundams with similar engineering and price points I'd be all over that.
