I need your opinion on something /toy/
I am attempting to use the "Money Back guarantee"
thing for the first time on Ebay.
I have been on Ebay for many years now and I always
got what I bought and luckily I never hand any problems
with getting things from Ebay.
So around the end of October I was the winning bidder
on a Hot Toys figure I wanted I paid about $230 USD
for it. The Item location on the listing was
in Kentucky, United States. Now I live in Canada
so the arrival date would be November 4th.
So I paid for the item and the seller gave me
good feedback and I received a tracking code
and everything was fine.
I waited until Nov 4th no figure?? so I thought
ok I'll give it a few more days maybe there was a
delay maybe it got held up in customs, who knows?
I was not overly worried.
I ended up waiting an extra week and a half
still nothing so I said ok I need to see where
this thing is so I go on ebay and click on the
tracking code and it give me no information it just
says "register" I don't know what that means?
so I copy and paste the code in to everything
I can think of USPS.com, UPS, Fedex, purolator, DHL,
ect. and nothing.
There is no package in their system with that number
so I'm getting a bit worried at this point so I'm like
Ok, this thing is more then a week and a half over due
it should have been here on the 4th,
So I go and click the sellers member page and find
out that this guy is from...Indonesia
So I'm thinking he listed the item
location as Kentucky, United States
so I believed that he was from the United States.

I'm getting the feeling that I'm getting scammed
here?!? so I click on the Money back guarantee thing
on the listing and read up on it and it tells me I
have 30days after the estimated arrival date to file
a complaint and the first step is you have to contact
the seller, so I click the get started and I send him
a very formal message like
Dear Ebay seller
I am contacting you as per Ebay policy.
I have yet to receive my item I have purchased
from you. Ebay policy dictates that I have to
contact you within 30 days of the latest estimated
delivery date.. yada yada and so on
so he sends me back a message that is all
"I already sent the package from Indonesia
you can track it from this website and sends me some
link (which I didn't go to) Shipping very far.
Shipping time within 2-6weeks. Estimated arrival in
ebay not accurate. Dont worry your item will arrive.
Hope you understand. Thank you."
I proceed to tell him I have no way of verifying that
you actually sent me the item I purchased and
I'm not clicking on any link you are trying
to show me outside of ebay. I then tell him
that I believed his listing was fraudulent.
and that he lied on his listing saying the item was in
the United States when it wasn't and that
I didn't want to wait 2-6weeks for some package
that may or may not arrive I want a refund
on my purchase.
>>

then he is like "I never lie about shipping from
united states. I never say shipping from united states."
like I said he had the item listed as being in
the united states so naturally it would ship from there
right? then he keeps saying
"I am really already sent your package.
this is not my fault and you can not refund
because i already sent the item."
then he says again then he goes on to say that
all his listings are from Kentucky but has no clue
how that happened
So what say you /toy/?
is this guy a scammer? do you think he is
trying to defraud me? well I get my money
back? and he claims to have sent a package
and if he did he could just have put anything
in a box and set it to say that he sent me something.
Also If I knew he was from Indonesia I wouldn't
have bid on it and he did not make any effort to
point out the error on the listing it is his
listing I didn't know there was anything wrong
as far as I was concerned I was buying something
from the states. If I knew that the thing was false
I would have requested to cancle the order then and
there and have a refund issued then.
but the discrepancy was not found until after the
things didn't arrive when it was suppose to.
Also on Nov 20th I'll have the option to bring
in Ebay to advocate or make a decision or what
ever they do. I do want my money back because I
do feel lied to.

The first thing you should do is learn to greentext and learn to write in paragraphs.

Making something this unattractive to read will not help you get relevant answers.
>>
i'm assuming you didn't use paypal because that would have been the best route to go since they're pretty good about siding with the buyer
>>
Maybe you should have clicked the tracking link
>>
>>5290547
>>5290550
>>5290559
holy fuck i thought he was trying to write a song or poetry here
>>
>>5290598
green text is annoying and I did not want to fill up the entire thing with the following:
>>dude is wack
>>sadface.jpg
also this isn't /b/ I was looking for some serious opinions

>>5290602
it did go through paypal, but I clicked the money back thing on ebay

>>5290621
clearly you didn't read anything

"I go on ebay and click on the
tracking code and it give me no information it just says "register" I don't know what that means?
so I copy and paste the code in to everything
I can think of USPS.com, UPS, Fedex, purolator, DHL, ect. and nothing."

>>5290627
yeah thats what I'm doing I'm just trying to write a song or poetry here I'm using this as my own personal tumulr page and not looking for serious opinions
>>
>>5290547
>lives in Canada
>can't type readable English
I've had it with all you gooks living up here.
>>
>>5290673
>clearly you didn't read anything

But you did not click on that link or even look at where that link will take you. Seems you can easily find out if he sent it out or not by looking at that link. Also you tell us you are in Canada, but on your examples of places you looked, I don't see Canada post listed. Yes I'm sure it's part of your ETC, but still .

>>I proceed to tell him I have no way of verifying that you actually sent me the item I purchased and
I'm not clicking on any link you are trying
to show me outside of ebay

this just means you have a way but refuse to do it.

Now that's out of the way. you should get a drink, take a break, then go look at the link address, and see where it takes you. There are times when the tracking number is off by a number or incorrect on ebay. if that go no where then file with ebay.

If they say it's register that means you can track it.

Since the package is already enroute, there is no way a seller would be stupid enough to refund your money, since you will probably not ship back the toy to them once you recieve it
>>
>>5290673
>yeah thats what I'm doing I'm just trying to write a song or poetry here I'm using this as my own personal tumulr page and not looking for serious opinions
Oh. OK.
No need to offer help then. Dumbfuck.
>>
Why the fuck are
you typing your sentences out
like this? How do you like
your potatoes cooked that way?

But seriously. you didn't need to break every line off, this isn't a telegram. You probably could've gotten everything into a single post if properly formatted. Let me try.
>>
>>5290550
>I'm not clicking on any link you are trying
>to show me outside of ebay
There are dozens of couriers shipping out of Asia, the eBay tracking system is only integrated with the state run and/or American ones.

Alright, never mind. Turns out you wrote an entire goddamn essay on how you got scammed, so have a pastebin of it properly formatted instead. http://pastebin.com/5WQyz456

There's a reason why people Greentext, and it's to tell a long story in a short blurb. Your story can pretty much be summed up as

>Buy a Hot Toys figure off ebay in October
>Shipper is listed in Kentucky, shipping says it should be here by the 4th
>Wait until the 4th, no figure
>Figure something might've gone wrong, wait an extra week
>Nothing yet
>Check the tracking on ebay, it doesn't match up with UPS, DHL or anything
>Check his store page, turns out he's from Indonesia
>Send him a message asking what's up
>He messages me back saying he already shipped it, saying it should be here in 2-6 weeks along with a site with tracking information
>Don't want to click the link since I have no idea what it actually is and message him about how he lied about being in the US
>Messages me back saying that he "really already sent your package. this is not my fault and you can not refund because i already sent the item."

Also you have a serious problem with run-on sentences like oh my god shoot me now
>>
I was sympathetic to you at first, OP, but you can choke on a bag of dicks for all I care.

Type so people can read your shit and don't be a fuckhole to people just fucking off. Ignore them.

But yeah, I hope you lose all your money for being a shitlord.

Mostly cause i feel like you might be a lil too worked up here, i'm going to help out.
If i were you, look at the link the seller gave you for the mailing service. Do not press it - just put your cursor over it and see where the link takes you - the link should show up at the bottom left of your browser cause it does for mine. If the link gives you a mailing service link- oh say like an asian EMS service - google it and google will make sure to give you a safe link to said site. Then go to it - plug in the number. If it is a fake scam site - well - google should tell you that as well.

I suspect this guy is writing from his cell phone..

>>5290550
>>5290559
If you want a serious reply you need to show that you are serious. The fact that you couldn't even type the damn thing up in a readable format speaks a lot about your capabilities as a person.

Nobody wants to read a run on sentence that never ends it makes you look like a child or someone who didn't finish grade school you know what I mean I think you do because you seem to be able to articulate and yet you cannot type out or use correct spacing or anything instead you look like you vomited words all over the fucking board it's fucking terrible man and you should feel ashamed
>>
All this mess, OP?
All of it.
Is on YOU.
>>
Just click the fucking link he gave you, you dumb shit.
>>
I once visited /toy/
which is a board on
4chan
and when I was there
I saw a thread
about eBay scams
and when I clicked the thread
I saw that OP had copypasted
an email his grandmother
sent him.
I could tell it had come
from his grandmother
because the formatting was
really awful
as if she had written it
in Microsoft Word and then
copied it into her Outlook '97
while keeping the line breaks
that for some reason
she still had set to "on".
Anyway, after I saw the thread
I realized that OP has bigger
problems than eBay scams.
>>
>>5291036
It's like pottery
>>
Its fucked up you won't click on his tracking link and then tell him you have no way of knowing he sent it. That's being dishonest and eBay doesn't like dishonesty. Also, there is a city called Kentucky in Indonesia. If you were too foolish and not careful enough to see his item ships from Kentucky, Indonesia and not Kentucky, USA then thats your own fault.
>>
>>5290547
ebay scamed me hard
>>
>>5290753
Sounds fishy as fuck, I'd talk to ebay and open up a claim.

Basically, open it up, you will get your money back. Then if/when you get it, you can pay him back in full, if it's not a fake that is. He sounds sketchy as fuck and is probably selling bootlegs.
>>
>>5290952
You missed the part where the seller lied about his location and provided a garbage tracking number.

OP, I would almost suggest you file a claim with Paypal. 1, the seller is a retard liar and 2, they always side with buyers anyway. Just don't abuse this power to get free stuff from good US-based sellers.
>>
>>5294522
Or eBay. Fuck these foreigners pretending to be US-based to peddle their knockoff garbage.
>>
Well I'm back I wasn't going to post again
being that I felt some were rather mean to me
when I was asking for help.
but here's a update after arguing with this guy a
little bit more the option for ebay to step
in came up and I clicked it
and told them basically everything that happened
and clicked send.
the sellers final message to me was this:

"you so stupid. You acused me do scam. You make me very angry,
i never do scam, i already sell many item in ebay and paypal.
If i cheat the buyer my account already has been banned by ebay.
I will full refund if the item still not arrive in next 2months."

after he sent that apparently he requested Ebay to review the case
but in the end the item still hasn't arrived and I was of course
refunded my money, so I'm happy now.

>>5291096
>>5290621
>>5290708
>>5291021
I actually did end up clicking the link and going to the page
its all written in some crazy "moon language" that I couldn't
understand. I clicked on the link before getting ebay involved.

>>5290705
sorry I'm not a "Gook" I'm not a person of Philippine, Korean,
or Vietnamese descent.

>>5290774
Money was refunded, who's the shitlord now?
>>
>>5291096
that might be true but I never been to Indonesia or did
any research on it but no its not Kentucky, Indonesia
it was actually listed as Ekron, Kentucky, United States.
that is where he said the item was and was being shipped
from.

>>5291036
no sorry not Microsoft Word or Outlook '97
I actually type things in Notepad but good guess
though.

>>5294522
>seller lied about his location and provided a garbage tracking number.
this is basically the reason Ebay gave me for my refunded me.

also don't worry I won't abuse it, I'm not that type of person
this was the first time. In all the years I have been using ebay
I never had a problem and I buy things from people around the world
my very first Ebay purchase came from Australia I always received my
items on or before the arrival date. If I had received the figure
I wouldn't have filed a complaint.
>>
>>5295507
So when the packages does arrive, would you refuse it and ask them to Sender? Now that you have your money.
>>
Well, at least the thread lived up to the image.

#1 Buy something on eBay.
#2 Realize the tracking link isn't for an eBay supported shipping company.
#3 Chargeback
#4 Free figure whenever it shows up!
>>
>>5295545
I mean return to sender.

>>
I have read the OPs posts and do agree with everyone that the OP seems like a huge piece of shit. I also think he screwed the seller out of the money and probably already had the toy long before submitting a claim.
>>
I wouldn't worry. WIthin the past 6 months, ive ordered figures (transformers) from eBay, and twice I have had the seller become no longer registered as a seller, after i had paid for the item. SO after waiting a while, usually a couple weeks, i file a claim, wait one more week, then i have succesfuly gotten a refund from ebay

You are, for buying Hot Toys shit.
>>
>>5295507
>Ekron, Kentucky, United States

Ekron shares a postcode with Sumur Bandung, a city in West Java. The seller probably just used automatic location without realising it only applies to the US.
