It's accurate though. That was kind of the general complaint that people had with the armor back then because it looked more like slip-on pieces than a guy wearing a full suit of armor with tech inside. It's the reason why some people preferred the Mark 4 in IM2 because it took the Mark 3 design and made it look more like a guy could actually fit inside it.

I agree about the shoulder pads but the rest of the suit being bulky is actually accurate since the Mark 45-46 are two of the most bulky suits Tony has worn by far. If anything, these are actually a tad small considering how much more thick the Mark 46 is supposed to look compared to previous suits.

Even if it's not 100% accurate to the film, one point being not as good as other Iron Man figures isn't going to keep it from probably being the best Mk 3. I think the only figure that had its sculpt modified was Obi Wan, where they remolded the head to be about 10% larger. The original head was too tiny, so nothing else was actually changed. Just the size.
