Those poses are completely different. The figure has its shoulders pulled forward and down. In terms of width it's a little wider than 3 of the figure's heads, which is a heroic proportion.

By the way you can get figuarts Battle Droids pretty cheap (I'm talkin like $32 dollars cheap) on mandarake. We don't know much about the battle droid model kits yet, and the SHF has some pretty great features like being able to fold up into storage mode. I'd say get at least one SHF and use the model kits to beef up the ranks, but it's up to you.

I wonder if I should have been collecting body-kun's. I was really disappointed that they had faces, unlike the actual figures Tamashii Nations uses in promotional photos. I guess they're trying to directly compete against the figma archetypes. They also lack the "toku belt" and there's no news on if they'll release the mecha ones. It just didn't seem worth it, but I'm jealous of people that do have them. Well I guess they're really that popular since they're already getting reissues and reprints... I couldn't afford them anyway what with all the web-exclusives and prices skyrocketing on every figure. Max Factory's figma 2.0's are cheaper and better, right bros?

The Hi-Metal R Glaug is delightfully big and hefty, joints are nice and tight. Figuarts Mace Windu is better than I could have expected with how the "fabric" flexes and bends, joints are nice and tight as well. Civil War Captain America by comparison has some surprisingly loose joints. They sit fine when you're not fiddling with it, but they give way to pressure far more easily than I'd expect, it's kind of distracting. Mostly the hips, ab crunch joints, and the (extremely loose) clavical joint for the neck and head. You pop that entire assembly off to swap between heads, rather than just popping the head off the neck like with Mace Windu.

Can you go into some more detail on this? I'm really on the fence about this thing, but the price and possibility of sagging joints are scaring the hell out of me. The guns on the forearms are diecast, right? Does he need the stand to hold them up, or are they tight enough?
Also it's weird to hear about those joints in particular being loose on cap. My AoU version has the exact same thing with his hips, but the other spots you mentioned (neck and abs) are actually fairly tight. I think his ankles were the worst of it though, are they ok on the CW version? I'm mostly curious about how his shield attaches though, I'm assuming they kept the same method with the set of hands with pegs, but I'm hoping the QC on it is better. Do they plug straight into the shield well this time?

The Glaug's arms are entirely plastic from what I can tell, and the joints for them all come across as incredibly stiff. I'm not sure why they showed it early on as needing the extra stand arms to hold them up, unless the prototype's joints weren't properly pinned. The legs aren't quite as tight, but when I was tinkering with it without the stand it held up in several poses just fine in at least the short term. I'm using the stand just to keep things safe since it's sitting on the edge of my desk and it doesn't harm anything to use it. The majority of the diecast seems to be in the legs, unsurprisingly.
As for Cap, the ankles are fine, the arms are fine. The ab crunches have very little resistance to them but seem to sit fine. The clavical joint for the neck is super-loose, to the point of just flopping all over the place at the slightest touch. Might take some clear nail polish to it if it proves to be a problem.
Mace Windu is definitely a winner. Everything is snug, the robes are soft enough not to get in the way of the legs or shoulders (the wrist parts are stiff, but not in the way of anything anyways), and overall it just seems very nice and solid. Had a little difficulty getting the light saber into the gripping fist, but that's not too surprising I suppose. Better to have it solidly grasped rather than too loose.
My biggest problem is the fact I'm running out of space on my damn desk at this point.

Pretty much. For such a simplistic release they're extremely expressive. Which is why I went with "They expect us to fight the Jedi with THESE?!" and "Oh... oh dear, it has a point." poses for mine. Battledroids are just too damn adorable. It doesn't help that Clone Wars personified the fuck out of them.

It's an ok figure, I have both and the only problem I have with them is the skirts(1st one has hard pvc which limits posability, 2nd one has a soft pvc skirt but due to its "pumpkin" design, it greatly hinders leg articulation.

And? It's still based on the TV show's model. The evolution sequence is fucking traced from the show. The animation in the movie is outrageously inconsistent even among frames of the same scene. It does look more like the anime than the D-Arts in certain respects, but the head and claws bother me most.

I got Mace in today and he's pretty cool, with one bigass caveat: his right wrist hinge seems to be malformed. The first time I popped his lightsaber hand on, the hinge came apart. It was easy enough to pop back together, but the peg half of the assembly is obviously crooked and it keeps trying to happen when I rotate the joint downward. Anyone else have this problem?

Got Kakashi in today from B&N. Not the worst $31 I've ever spent, but it looks and feels about 6 years older than it is and if I could do it again I wouldn't pay more than 1500Y for it. The sculpt is the softest in my collection as of now and it makes it hard to put it next to anything without making it look worse (though I guess on the flip side it makes my other stuff look better, like the lone fat girl that the popular girls in high school bring into their circle). Like with the shirt cuffs: rather than looking like rolled up pieces of fabric with a gap between it and the skin to differentiate it from the body underneath, they just look like the sorts of tube-like embellishments that you'd put on a robot. There's no negative space sculpted into it whatsoever, so it looks just horrendous.
The entire lower half is just really poorly done, to the point that you question how the person who thought up the multi-cut look as a replacement for dropdown hips didn't get fucking fired immediately. If the hip design was the brainchild of the old D-Arts crew, I wouldn't be surprised. No wonder it's gaining traction with DBZ, since that's the dumping ground for most of the lower talents.

Right has a lot of weird things about it. The face looks like it's like printed onto the head and the printed features aren't lined up perfectly with the sculpted features, the little bit of shading looks weird, and the hair looks like they went super overboard with the wash and also looks detached like he's bald but wearing a hair hat.
