Hey /toy/, should I open pic related? It's still in intact box, 1997. (Also my first time on this board so sorry if new)
>>5777622
shameless self-bump, don't want to make a mistake here
>>5777622
my recommendation is to sell it to someone who collects old school marvel figs, and with that money you can buy something you really want to open, the Desicion is yours
I had this figure when I was around 8 years old.
I would open and keep for nostalgic factor but you should sell.

Return it and get the non-damaged, complete figure?
Are you fucking dense? Have some patience you impetuous manchild.
get your credit card company involved, make them charge back because the product is defective, and amazon will doing everything it can to communicate with you.
when were toys at their best?
Right now. Toys keep getting better.
Certain lines have had golden ages but toys in general have never been better.
>>5773487
Tell that to Greg.

>When was the golden age of toys?
The 80's. Without question.
So many classic toyline IP's were created in this decade. So much variety on the shelves. The massive influx of electronic, computerized toys. Crazy new ideas & IP's that would never fly in today's world. The deregulation of children's shows that allowed tons of cartoons based on toys, Japanese toys brought over to American shelves, etc.
No other decade made such an impact...

"Mythic Legions" seems hugely popular among nearly all toy-collectin boards. so we know a set of kickass generic fantasy figures is something we all wanted. but what other genre needs some generic figs? Besides, ya'know, Ninjas. Because TheFwoosh has already proven there is a huge interest in generic ninjas, even if they NEVER come out.
1. Western
2. Pirate
3. Horror (Vampires, Frankenstein Monsters, slashers, etc)
4. Post-Apocalyptic (Evolved anthropomorphic animals, killer robots, new-age dieselpunk barbarians etc)
5. Space sci-fi

>Hobby Search Japan - items stay in stock the longest
>Mandarake - search figma or フィグマ

The S shape is always good advice though. The basic idea is that straight lines tend to look stiff.

For those unfamiliar, "Plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model." If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.

***GM Group Build***
Rules:
Pick an HG GM, and paint and customize it. For it to count as a GM, it literally just has to have GM in the name of the MS on the box, otherwise, no, it doesn't count. As far as customizing it, I'm going to place a limit on that. The limit is 50% additions to the kit.
To define 50%, look at it like this, you could take a GM Custom and replace the arms (including shoulders), legs, and backpack and I'd call that 50%. I'm not counting handheld bits in that. If you're unsure of something please ask in IRC, the thread,...

Are new threads normally made this early?
So I've got these gatling guns I want to add to my GM for the submission, they're the ones from the twin loto kit, any suggestions?
Digimon general? New Digimon toys
ooh a joint system
and some shitty roleplay
>>5769841
These look bretty cool actually. It's what I wish yokai watch was
How would you design the articulation for a figure (assuming budget isn't an issue)? Also, what figures in your opinion have the most intelligently done articulation?
>>5769730
Also, excuse the shitty drawing, the base was a stock photo and the jointing was added via GIMP on a laptop with a trackpad.
>>5769730
I know it's not a popular opinion, but I think the Revol Mini has a brilliant articulation layout placing joints that are swivel-hinge-ball at he right places, and not sticking out too much visually.
>>5769756
Revoltechs in general have incredible articulation for the most part. Those guys managed to make fucking V-cut hips work well.
Meanwhile on bizarro /toy/...
Man these NECA toys are really well built. They don't fall apart right out of the box like those shitty SHF toys.
Mattel should be crowned company of the year for their amazing Batman vs Superman toyline
Action figures needs less articulation and less sculpting. They should all just be Funko Pops.
So we decided if Funko can sell terrible figures, so can we again.
Where's the articulation?
I'll buy it regardless, because i do not have a decent Spawn figure that isn't from the 90s.
>>5762833
They're gonna be articulated, but will probably just be useless cut joints
i love mcfarlane and would buy their non-articulated shit again if it were possible.
they were always completely unique with amazing paint apps.
Who here plays with their action figures? Why do you do it? What do you think of grown ups playing with their action figures?
I make them fuck each other
>>5757326
same
>>5757323
I basically throw mine on the shelf right away, but there's nothing wrong with playing with your toys.
