This is /toy/ related I suppose.
I'm getting into /toy/s, and I plan on getting into Figma, Neca, SH Figuarts, Star Wars black series, Marvel (Legends infinite series) and DC (Icons).
I have two questions, and I'm pretty sure the answers are subjective:
1. In your opinion, which one should I get started first?
2. Do you guys even play with your /toy/s?
1. Skip all american stuff. Only get figma and Figuarts of characters you care about. Focus on something. Take a look at nendoroids if you want too.

1. Get which IPs and designs you like. Order doesn't matter. However, I feel like you'd appreciate the articulation more if you started Black series and ended with Figuarts or Figma with the rest being interchangable in the middle.
2. 'play' is also subjective. I pose my toys and take pictures of them, and I do this pretty often, but is that really 'playing' with them? Did you mean crashing them together and making sound effects?

FOr marvel characters I definitely recommend the more recent Marvel Selects. The articulation is almost on par with the Legends and the sculpt and paint detail is much better
Going to visit some cousins this christmas and i'm trying to plan ahead for some sweet gifts. I just got a new job which pays great so I'm willing to spend a hundred or two.
The cousins i'm visiting are 16, 21 and 23, and the two younger ones love games and watching twitch streams. There will also be parents and grandparents there...
They live out in the mountains so there's tons of open space. My first idea was a ping pong table but they're expensive and will get rained on. Any suggestions?

Second idea was a trampoline but they apparently had one and it kept getting blown over in the wind.
My current idea is buying some of these light strike guns, basically lazer tag without the vests. They were sold at wal-mart but the company went out of business... The reviews are great. Guns seem to go for $40 each. I would buy 4, 3 for the cousins and then one for me that i would leave with them (enough for 2v2 after i leave)
Possible problems: too kiddy. Anyone have experience with these, or some other suggestions?

So I have no real interest in your standard anime/movie figures. But I recently found the Figma "Thinker" and thought it was really really neat. I bought it and a "Giant God Warrior" figure on a lark because I thought that they were interesting and pretty far removed from the norm when it comes to figures.
Then I saw the Revoltech Buddhist figures and now I'm considering getting one or two of those.
So, can we have a thread about the more nonstandard kind of figures? Ie ones that are either very divergent in design form the norm, or which...

So a friend of mine recommended this site to me. Anyone got experience with it? I'm mainly interested in the anime stuff but the pricing seems to good to be true in most cases.
A lot of the toys they sell are bootlegs. It's a good place to go if that's what you're looking for, though.
It's basically chinese ebay for western market. Thousands of sellers, different quality. If any deal is too good to be true, it's probably a bootleg. If it's 5-10% cheaper than normal it MIGHT be genuine, but might not

I'd like to nominate Designer (not Creator!) and its sub-derivative, Inventor, for extra cosy themes.
Those instruction booklets were something I really enjoyed looking at, because besides an idea model or two you got the models actually being shown doing stuff with neat backgrounds, or even little stories in the case of Robobots.
Challenge suggestion; Create a monster that'd make a mean ride, or make a mean ride for a monster. Alternatively, create a vignette or display where monster hunters...

Nope, none of the other SS releases had any either, seems they're sticking to the main Riders for now, hope Faiz or Kiva is next, more the former than anything.

Maybe I'm calling it a bit too early, but I might try and be a completionist when it comes these Deluxe Headmasters.
Hardhead and Skullcruncher are the winners here. Big time.
After seeing Hasbros hard head have no interest in the FP offering. Also looking at skullcrunchers pic again I wonder of that green thing on top of the tail gun could be used as a sword handle. It looks like it can flip.
This is so refreshing after combiner wars, yet what i'm most excited for is the possible Minerva repaint from Nightbeat.
Are there any Japanese robot toylines that aren't Transformers, Chogokin-related, Gundam-related, or Sentai?
The only one I can think of is Mugenbine.
Mugenbine is under Machine Robo, Machine Robo is the counterpart to Transformers. So yea, they are kinda like transformers.
The Robot Damashii line covers a wide-range of mecha shows beyond Gundam. Metal Armor Dragonar, Aura Battler Dunbine, and Cross Ange are all non-Gundam mecha series that have gotten serious attention recently in RD form.

So, I got the first MU Jubilee on the left with her extreme wall eyes. More recently I got a lot of 4 MUs and it included another Jubilee, so yay I'd finally have a good one of her. That would be the one on the left.
It's a good thing I normally just have her in the hands of a Sentinel facing away from any camera...
