2 MB,
Alright, /toy/. I've been collecting the 90's Star Trek line for the better party of 9 years. I love the line and it's silliness dearly, but it occurs to me I know little about the actual production/history of the line itself. I'll break this down into sections.

1. Production notes, accessory lists, anything in house you have/can dig up about what was produced for whome, and why. Figure choosing would also be good.

2.Information on why the line became so cheap to collect nowadays. Seems unlikely seeing as ninja turtles go for extreme amounts...

They became cheap for the same reason that 1990s baseball cards are cheap. They were aimed at and collected by an older audience that put them away expecting them to become valuable. I don't know anybody that actually played with Star Trek figures. So you have something like half the Trek figures ever made still sitting on card in closets or shops all over the country. Now, because they are ultimately toys, most of those cards are pretty rough, either through manhandling at retail or curling with age, making them not particularly desirable as display pieces. On the other...

Fuckboy that mini is suppose to come with a scarf piece that is already around his neck, that covers that area since the scarf is a permanent feature on the sculpt.

You'll have to wait for Juggy Briggs to get one first now since the MK guys are pushing the new generation.

Also, everyone knows black figures don't sell :^)

Does anyone have more information on these? It's supposedly a new line called D.D. Panoramation that come with diorama parts.

The joints don't look like Myth Cloth and the plastic looks cheaper, but maybe it's just the lighting.
>>

From a 2 second google search and it seems like they are 4 inch figures that come with a diorama and effect parts.

All I can find on them is that they're 4" figures, and that the diorama parts can be assembled together to make the temple from the show's ED.

Also that they had probably the most bitchin display at TN15.

For those of you just joining us, please read this guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.

For those unfamiliar, "Plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model." If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.

Grunt Bash Group Build
It's time for a new group build, and damn simple one. All you need to do is combine a grunt design with a one off design, including named Gundams, Sazabi, Kampfer, and the like.

Due By: November 10th
As always, send it to (and post it here!): gunplasecretsanta@gmx.us

Gunpla/Plamo Secret Santa!

Sign ups run until December 4th. I'll try to have everyone paired up by December 6th.

Like last year, I'm going to have everyone fill out a Google form so I can collect the information easily.

Also, if you have some kits in your backlog that you are willing to part with feel free to email me a list and estimated values.

Hey fellow /toy/men I'm trying to get some weigh in on the best services to get toys and figures from yahoo japan and shipped to the states.

I just got a tenso approved for use but it looks like they don't do bidding service for yahoo japan so a friend recommended "from japan"

Does anyone have anything to recommend to a first timer? it all gets very confusing.

Like should I use from japan with my tenso account or would it be the same just to use their from japan service and ship it to the states?
>>
My only experience has been with Noppin. It's a bit of a confusing start, as they require you to make a deposit up front to prove you have dough & aren't gonna fuck them, but you can get it back mad quickly. The service is pretty good, they keep you up to date, they'll hold items so as to group them together, etc. but the fees can reach bullshit-high levels. Depends what you're gonna do, I guess. Works out to be like a $7-ish charge per item bidded on, & you pay for the item to not only come to your door, but for it to get to theirs in the first place....

Just wondering about some opinions on the Akira figures. There are a few options out there, but I was surprised by how affordable the Mcfarlane ones are compared to other figures out there? How to you guys think they compare to other company's Akira lines?

Mcfarlane made Akira figures? What the fuck?
>>
>>5264615

Yeah. From their Anime line, lasted two waves. They did Kaneda, Tetsuo, Kaneda's bike, a clown thug and Akira.
>>
Well, like most McFarlane figures, they're basically statues. They look really nice, though.

I was looking at this thing myself. Will probably pick it up if any EU retailers get it. Apparently it uses the same body and a lot of the gear of previous figures by this company, so you could probably find some reviews for those. That should give a pretty good idea for what it's gonna be like.

Did you find the German giraffe they did too yet? Don't like that one as much. The neck isn't long like giraffes have, so it just kinda looks weird to me.

New robot spirit items from mobile suit gundam. First up are RX-78-2 and Char's Zaku. I haven't seen anybody discuss this here outside the robot spirits general so I wanted to share. I dont want people missing these since these look awesome and I am a huge mobile suit gundam fan. I also can't wait to here people argue about keeping this in the general.
