Why do toy manufacturers (Western ones especially) still insist on integrating joints into the sculpt? Why haven't they followed the example of (most) Japanese toys and used separately engineered joints? (see: Revoltechs, Figmas, a...

Because it costs money, which they would incorporate into the price of the figure. That's why imports cost more. Do you know nothing?
I guess it's because it's cheaper?
That and there are child safety standards after all here which is why Western companies probably do it.

Wow that last thread flew by quickly!
Everyone's assignments have been sent!
Everyone should now be shopping for their assignments, and try your best to have your packages shipped by the first week in December. Shipping slows waaaaaay down during the holiday season, so get those packages out early to ensure they get there by Christmas!
To protect yourself from false Grinching accusations (who would do such a thing?) you can send me the tracking info or a picture of the package before you send it. This is important because...

I'm working on replying to everyone's emails right now and forwarding your messages, I'll update when I'm done.
Also I'm having fun watching everyone get excited!
I'm still working on mine. I've got what I want to send him, but there's a few extras I want to throw in as well.
I've got half my guy's stuff, one thing will be here on Thursday.
Hey /toy/ I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy some extra weapons for cheap that would fit and look good in my Revoltech skeleton's hands.

Found this at Goodwill yesterday for $5. Almost perfect condition (just some scuffs), complete except it only came with nine discs.
>>5287501
Good job i guess? Vortex stuff is straight up discontinued and ammo is basically nonexistent in stores now. The safe move is to stick with the ones that shoot traditional darts.
But i thank you for reminding me i should go nerf thrifting once finals are over.
Found one of those Japanese alpaca plushies and a complete set of Blokus at a Savers last week.

that was a good day
So, whatever happened with these toys?
Any news on em
Ooh Go-Bots!
>>5286759
they were announced like back in February
were they cancelled or something?
>>5286929
I highly doubt they got canceled with all the work that was put into the prototypes. Plus the latest news was only back in June, it's not like these were shown off years ago or anything.

UK /toy/ soldiers, I need some advice. I know there was a general postal advice/stories thread a while back but one hasn't popped up for a while.
Until now I've been buying from Europe and North America but now I want to order things from Japan as well and I havee heard a lot of people mention packages getting stuck at customs and charges being levied.
What is my best chance to avoid being charged on figures bought from Japan (mainly Mandarake?
Also, postage advice/stories/complaints general I guess.
Anyone? I've read about getting it declared as a gift. Will that help?
Yeah, declare as gift and have it be marked down to anything under £15.
>>5277741
Will Mandarake be willing to do that? Will it affect things if it is lost in transit (I have to assume it will)?
Trying to identify a toy from the 90s. It looked a little bit like a robot xenomorph with a more humanoid body build. It had four (possibly six) arms and was completely silver. It did not have a tail. I have no idea what it's from but I haven't been able to find it anywhere.
>>5276294
Its not exact to your description but a friend had asked me recently and I had suggested it was.
Spiderman, alien spider slayer from toy biz and it was. Seems the tail detaches easy.
If not, sorry and hope someone can come up with the right toy.

Anyone else looking forwards to Yume? I'm way too hype. Why do the polynian figures have to look so cute?
