Any other 1/1 scale toys/series? I've got shinkis and Hoihoi, and presumably Desktop Army when they come out, but that's it. I need more tiny robot girls in my life.

[spoilers don't work on /toy/]any angelic layer toys?

>the target audience for all this shit, kids, will be able to determine whether the movie sucks or not
>>
>>5309427
kids these days prefer nonsense video games its why /v/ is more popular than here :)
>>
>>5309427
... yeah. Pretty much. Two of my nephews and my niece are already losing their shit over the toys and have put a bunch on their Christmas lists. Their parents and I have been discussing the fact that when we were kids, toys didn't come out until after movies launched, and kids were hyped up by what they saw. Now it's the reverse, to get the kids excited about the movie.

Complete with spoilers they can't or won't read on the backs of boxes.

273 KB,
Manchild here. About just under two months ago I endeavoured to inventory my massive lego collection from when I was 14-17 and open a bricklink store. Since it was a pretty serious collection containing rare and unique parts that have doubtless appreciated in value, I figured selling it in bulk would be foolish. Anyway in the interval I find my hands have moved from a certain semetic gesticulation to the assembly of small MOCs I hide in various corners of my room. That's right, much to my chagrin and owing to copious levels of autism, I find myself right back in the thick...

Get rid of it, it's for the better
>>
you're in for a surprise when you try to sell those older special bricks: they have little collector value on their own. the best way to get the most value, is to download the old imstructioms and reconstitute the original kit as best you can. Even thwn, the risk of getting sucked back into builder status is quite high.
>>
>>5307957
That really seems to depend. In the case of some common components then yes, it is probably more equitable to put them into "used" sets. However my strategy was to separate the wheat from the chaffe and then sell the chaffe in bulk. Generally those autists will not care about a set unless it is MISB.

Do you mean complete sets of the figures or cases of blind bags to open?
>>
>>5306864
With some sets you can try hlj, gundam converge's are sold in lots of 6 intended for retail, the special ones are individual lots though.

But that's all I know, I work in a super market that sells shopkin sets so I can pretty much shotgun what's on our shelves fresh from the carton if I chose to.

From some pictures, it looks like bootleg figmas have increased in quality by a lot. Has anyone here bought one lately and can report on how they are now?

I got a bootleg Mutsu a couple of months ago. It was terrible.
>>
>>5307228
do elaborate, I do know the 1st gen bootlegs were downright unuseable because the joints were either totally stiff if not crack and breaking.
>>
Can you post more pictures? Also I have a question, I'm not really into bootlegs but I know I can't stop people from buying them.

I have a niece about 10 and she likes sword arts but pretty much gets her toys broken by her little brother quite often.

I know she'll take care of it but she's still a kid.

Should I not be a huge jew and get her the figma or get an eBay bootleg.

Also heard about possible toxic paint?

How do you guys feel about children having high quality toys?

Hey /toy/ a while back I made a reprap 3d printer and more recently I realized that I didnt have and action figures so I decided to make some in solidworks.

http://imgur.com/gallery/LyODD

I've also been selling them on etsy and I want to continue making more. What else do you guys think I should make? I'd like to get /toy/'s opinion.

it looks neat enough, i just can't get over thinking 3d printed toys look so fragile and rough

is the plastic decent? is there any way to sand off the print lines?
>>
>>5303952
You can sand them off but I like the way they look so I just leave them the way they are.

If I make something more pop culture related then I would sand it and paint it though.
>>
I might be in the market for a 3D printer for prototyping my designs instead of having to wait for Shapeways prints to arrive via mail.

What are some decent 3D printers <$500 that print WSF-like material on par with Shapeways (if any)?

Already got it preordered. Hope this does well over here; I'd love to have localized versions of the Model Zero watch and the Z-Medals.

I heard varying from where you pre-order from you can get a "Paws of Fury" promo medal. Hope both the toys and game sells well enough for more stuff honestly.

25 KB,
Show me toys that look retro but are still starships! I really want some toys that would look like they are tech made in the 1930s-1960s, the sleek shiny shapes they did back then were just gorgeous, and I would love to have some to use with star wars/gijoe/MU figures I have.

Best I can find right now, but I would prefer a more.. "airstream" look than merely this.

This is the sort of aesthetic I would love, star wars has the porax 38 which is close, but no toys are around of the bail organa speedercar, so I am kinda left at a loss on finding this sort of look in toy form.

>>5301869
Nice. I wish I could help.
Say what you want about the prequels, the 50's American Graffiti style of that speeder was pretty cool. I wish that was explored a little more.

162 KB,
Hasbro just stocked wave 1 of the Black Series Force FX lightsabers, including Luke's which had previously sold out. They've also got a 20% off coupon and a 10% off coupon if you sign up for emails and apparently they stack. My total was like a hundred and fifteen bucks after tax with free shipping.

Force FX sabers were getting harder to find for awhile so I just wanted to give you fags a heads up.

never bought a lightsaber, how are these in terms of quality compared to others such as the small companies that make their own?

From what I've gathered:
>significantly brighter light
>slightly better blade ignition effect
>higher quality sound
>accelerometer for more accurate swinging sound effects

But there are some drawbacks:
>fixed blade
>plastic bits here and there
>QC appears questionable, seen reports of...

I used to have a lot of those, from Thomas the Tank Engine, and back when they were made of wood.
I remember going to Knotts Berry Farm and there being a store inside the Park where you could also play with a set they had.
