BtB is a webseries about Pathfinder players, showing their real lives as well as their IC-adventures.
Aimed to be realistic on the RL part.
‘Beyond the Barrier’ follows the daily lives of a group of players of Pathfinder. Pathfinder is a roleplaying game not unlike Dungeons & Dragons which is played with pen and paper while seated at a table. It is played by millions of people around the world.
Besides showing how our main characters cope with what is going on in their daily lives, ‘Beyond the Barrier’ will show the adventures our characters experience in their games as well. The viewer gets a good look on how the game happens in the imagination of the players. The game is set in a medieval themed world, the scenes for which were shot in The Netherlands.
Last but not least, ‘Beyond the Barrier’ shows the influence a game like Pathfinder can have on the daily lives of the protagonists and vice versa; and what kind of influence their real life struggles have in the choices they make while playing.
With ‘Beyond the Barrier’ we aim to give a realistic look into the lives of a group of people playing their game with a lot of passion. We want to break wrong stereotypes and show why this kind of games has been popular for over 40 years.

Yes, that totally explain why in the pilot episode the whole concept is put in the mid-80s perspective, when tabletop RPG was laughed at or openly persecuted for idiotic assumptions. Truth be told I came in here to tell you to fuck off, but everyone else is already doing that so I defaulted to the contrarian reflex to not. I'll second what some other anons are saying, /tg/ is not the place to advertise, at the absolute best you'll get harsh advice and at the absolute worst they'll go out of their way to trouble you. Speaking seriously though:
Sound quality is really inconsistent so I'd look into that, though I understand it's one of the trickier things to get right in an amateur project but the volume bounces around in the same scenes. It's one of those small touches that makes series much more watchable.
I think the overall pace is way too slow. Granted, it's a pilot so I'll try to give it a second opinion later, but in a web medium particularly you want to be moving fast because else people have a million other things to watch off of the same page.
This is more a personal taste and maybe you'll do well enough with your target audience, but I really don't think people playing roleplaying games or looking to play roleplaying games are very interested in "drama". It seems like this work is trying to do something a little bit artsy and trying to flesh out the personal lives of the players, but I think that's largely unnecessary. Comedy is typically better direction than drama for a narrative about a game.
The dude in glasses is underacting, the blonde girl does a poor job of expressing the emotions that writing seems to imply she has but that may be intentional on your end so take it how you will. Don't let any of your actors be afraid of overacting, it rarely hurts much and especially not considering the premise.

Now that, is a web series I would watch! Just imagine 12 year old elf (actually 1000+ years old) is in a tsundere relationship with a Ork warrior. After a sexually charged argument we cut to their player characters who are actually 2 middle aged men! One neck beard one IT guy type. It's played as a gag but as the episode develops we learn that the two men actually have feelings for each other but they can't express them because, no homo and because one of them is married.
The GM is a fatgirl, she gets off on this shit and encourages their hijinks, putting their charecters in awkward situations and throwing gas on the flames of their arguments.
The other player is a Sneaky edgy theif type, he gets ignored in the game and IRL, throughout the series he shows signs of being a serial killer, but no one notices because they are wrapped up in homo lust.
The last player is weeaboo waifu type, he plays a typical animu girl and talks about katanas and ninjas all the time. IRL he plays via text and the other players only interact with him via text chat, The laptop that they use to communicate with him becomes a character in itself, with people talking to and referring to the device like it was a person kinda like R2D2.

But anon, Gamers 2 was absolutely perfect mix of player and characters action. Hell, the actual time in-character is bigger than the shit going around.
And let's not forget about the dice subtitles.
It was Gamers 3 that fucked up, especially the extended edition, that spent too much time on players. Especially Gary. Jesus, that shit was just annoying. The main story was fine, the extended version of Lodge-Joanna was bearable, but there is 1/3 of the film spent on pointless and simply annoying personal "drama".
But still, there is a point - Gamers were made out of labour, dedication and actual love to the material.
