last time a civ was chosen and thus a megacorp remnant has finally awoken taking action in a much changed world. There some light scouting was performed and discovery of that they were not alone to have survived. Some tech was rediscovered but much sadness was felt at the realization of lacking resources meant that even with blueprints they wouldn't be able to make goods that compared to the old world. In the new world however their goods could not be beat unless you found a Think Tank remnant. A hero was discovered from our number the one in fact who came up with the idea of building a megatower into a mountain that was now your home.

Good luck your going to need it.

Also I wonder if we could some how get a connection to the corp councilmen. With those Schematics from the Paramilitary we could possibility get something from it.

If you want to find info about your megacorp you'll need to trawl the remnants of what you already possess otherwise you will need to track down other megacorp remnants or installations and see what you can salvage there.

Does the CEO know about corp council.

If I remember correctly we dealt with messengers of them before. So I wanted to see if there was a chance of making something of the tech we studied. Yet if your saying we have to dig more or contact other remnants. I guess that answer would be a no.

Your corp recycling center is one of the biggest reasons why a corp can treat resources as a material.

The paramilitary refuses to let you snoop around their base.

As for improving your own base that depends on what you want to improve on.

Forces sent out to scout noticed a mountain nearby. The peaks of which may make an excellent place to but down some solar panels. Some other forces noticed a nearby desert and Savannah down south.

Apparently our base is located closer inland in a much dryer climate and on an edge of a mountain range. Quite the opposite of what our records indicate where the base was previously located. Showing it was along cliffs and mountains of a megacity on the coast.

unfortunately my new computer doesn't have any art or mapmaking software.

The mountain range moves from southwest to northeast. Naturally the side your on is the northernwestern side of the mountains beyond which is dryer terrain compared to the wetter one on the other side closer to coast.

Your on the edge of the mountain range located among a series of canyons. Those canyons just 'happen' to create a series of passageways through the mountains and around other terrains. They are very extensive.

crude map related. Dark green is forest. The grey/white to the north is tundra. That yellow is desert. Light green to the south is savannah.

Your based in a megatower on a mountain peak the distance you can see is insane. Black is mountains. Canyons meanwhile are interlaced throughout on this side of the mountains as far as you can see and they stretch far. Some of which even pass through the mountains a bit.

While our forces can't use the blueprints exactly but that doesn't mean we can't create new patterns based on them due to our restrains on the materials we can use. In that regard we used a combination of our corp weaponry and some of the thunder paramilitary weaponry with post apoc resources to create them. The design while not as good as pre war designs at the least doesn't suffer from material constraints for their creation. Basically having to give up firepower for ease of creation.

Still manages to maintain a mostly uniform appearance which is nice but actual quality may vary part to part according to what we salvage to make it.

How About we begin the construction of turrets pointing down into the canyon from high up positions? We can use our Cargo Flyers to reach these points. Have them littered along the paths leading to our base?

They will be hard to reach and frankly with their placement up high and shooting down into narrow(ish) canyons they should kick ass. Best of all they are relatively simple to produce, as we make them we station a number of Bots nearby for maintenance/ general protection.

So long as we don't over stretch they will be able to coordinate fire, cover one another and so on.

Ok Guys here is my theory of what our steps should be....

1) Prep a mountain for demolition which wilkl deal with the Horde atleast for now

2) Secure our area with mountain top turret towers and mortar stations (your range should be insane), also later add AA batteries

3) Once the area is "secure" we begin to mine the mountains immediately around us for resources. While these mining operations are underway by droids our people get to work researching and developing methods of producing more advanced tech, focus on the use of Air to get around and deployment, we need to cozy up to the Thunder Squad

Turrets constructed along one of the canyons near our base. Currently we built them hanging off the canyon walls near certain emplacements. Sadly we need to send crews to refuel and provide munitions in addition to maintenance or repair.

We were able to provide turrets for three canyons near our base. The turrets are armed with simple powder autoguns and rocket launchers. Their armor is a mixture of metal and stone.
>>
Rolled 35 (1d100)

>>46681112
Sadly we were unable to provide them with better weaponry such as missiles instead of inferior rocket.

Elevators...well wont be an option until the groundfloor is cleared. As for the rail system that is proving to be a time consuming and resource intensive job.

the zombies also appear to be rather agitated and are being drawn increasing closer to our forces. Oddly enough they do appear to be ignoring our robots whom are on patrol. Their reports indicate zombie presence and activity is increasing.

Our plan works well. In fact it worked a little TOO well as the resulting avalanche of rock crushed the zombie horde and scattered the rest. We thought we were in the clear until our forces noticed that stream of zombies has in fact increased in number...and they were no longer only zombies being attracted.

WARNING
Unidentified factions detected in the vicinity.

Apparently that avalanche caused a little much noise and has drawn some serious attention. Only good news is their attention is on the rocky rubble and carnage for now...but that will only last for so long before their attention starts to stray.

Cameo is simple enough. Good cameo on the other hand is much harder. Still a few sheets of cameo cloth were quickly developed and thrown around everywhere. Sadly we weren't able to afford smart cameo or any invisibility.

After that our forces staid low. For others it was not meant to be. Especially as the monster swarm started to go on a rampage fighting the factions who were drawn to the scene and the zombies both those who survived as well as those who were attracted .

It took a little while but soon the other factions fled the scene when they realized there was nothing of value. The zombies however kept fighting the monsters even as their number grew and were eventually overwhelmed.

However would the monsters rampage so easily be sated?

It was not to be as against our expectations they actually continually started to ramp it up!

>>
Rolled 29 (1d100)

>>46683988
Its when monstrous activity goes into overdrive. Usually occurs around breeding season or whenever food gets too scarce. Population becomes too big or when they are agitated.

Basically it can have many causes some of which are at predictable intervals while others not so much. This activity had the bad timing of occurring when monster mayhem was soon about to occur letting it start earlier then usual.

>>46684247
Only sometimes that is true while others they will just as happily tear into each other.

The only good thing about monster mayhem is it makes all the other forces keep low and depletes the monsters for a time. Granting for a period of time much safer access to areas that are normally overrun with monsters among other effects like reducing their activity level.

I would love to keep upgrading. Problem is we can't do much with 0 resources. I think we could waste a supplies to do something, but those are like gold in this time.

If I remember correctly in Genie's system. Resources are needed to do Research, Build and Train. I could be missing somethings from that, sorry if I forgot it. Yet I believe we can train at negative mods to the roll with out them.

I would say we go out and gather stuff, but even the other factions that came to look left. So I doubt it's worth gathering at this time. Up side is after all of this things will be cleared up and resources and other goodies should be ripe for the taking. We just have to move fast once this blows over. Then maybe we can get some allies with gear to give them.

Would Corporate Override and Bot Out make some kind of effect we could use to move them away or make them fight them selves?

We don't have much in the way of fighting power and Team Thunder is not likely to help us at the moment. So I think an action that makes use of our brains in the best.

Otherwise one hope would be Copy Cat to take a power that could make the monster think we are on their side. If there is even a power like that for us to take. Possibility we could even use Let's Make a Deal to trade with the monsters and have a non-aggression pactmade.

Maybe. Depends on how you use it.

You could indeed copy cat the monsters to gain their monster quirk for as long as its channeled but monsters have been known to kill their own kind and that isn't even going across the species barrier.

That is also an option especially among the smarter ones.

The main reason I want it is for rapid transport/deployment but also means we can get supply trains and the like going. Obviously we will have to begin developing turrets and high level turrets, but from our peaks we have the distinct advantage. We have access to raw materials, we have the schismatics. all we need is time and people, but most of all an ally, or to be more precise. We need a client.

Your tower somehow went from being on the edge of a megacity on the coast. Deep inland right next to some very dry desert and across a mountain range. The tower is situated in between 9 different canyons. Basically at the crossroads there. This would normally cause problems if it weren't for the quite sheer mountainside, fortified superstructure, and difficulty reaching it. Two of the canyons are larger then the rest by quite a bit. The zombie horde had wandered down one of them.

Minerals were detected along the cliffs. Probably dragged up from the depths when your megatower was 'misplaced'. Forces are still trying to figure out if it was the tower that moved or everything else.

As for ruins...a number of cracked facilities were spotted off and on along the clifffaces. Ruins meanwhile were occasionally spotted in the bottom canyon depths as well. No idea what they could be concealing beneath the city...

It would appear many of the facilities had previously belonged to underground installations. What could of dragged them out much less fractured their fordimable defenses our forces don't dare ponder on.

It would appear Ginny's plan for a tower over a bunker proved to be by far the better option if all the wrecked bunkers and previously underground facilities are anything to go by.

Besides recycled metal slapped over stone we choose that we want something better. In that regard our dear researchers peruse the what remains of the plasma file for info regarding shielding. Otherwise some designs were drawn up that offer more effective protection. Mostly relying upon better engineering and reinforced superstructure kind of like what our tower possesses. Sadly we lack the varies expensive, rare, and exotic materials that were put into our tower. But the new designs should make a difference. Even went through the trouble to include an emergency generator into their design as well as room for the shield generator should one be equipped.

Begin construction on a resource creation room, if we need rare things we must know how to get them or build them. Such as taking more common elements and fucking with them to create rarer ones.

Also get in Touch with Team Thunder ask if they know where any of these materials may be found or if they are willing to trade/let us sample some.

Rare resources are RARE. Technically never had a game successfully find one of em. Mostly because anons always stay the fuck away from where you can find them easily for good reason.

Generally though its easier to find specific rare items then a general rare resource. Rare resources is what typically the old world is easily capable of and its why old goodies are so much better then new world.

Generally if you want a rare resource it requires you to cannibalize or break down old world sourced goodies or structures. Too bad much of the rare stuff is hard to handle or use otherwise it would be even rarer still.

Most of the time you'll only end up with something specific. Only the old world was able to so easily acquire, use, and throw around now rare resources. Not to mention having all that working tech and expertise also did wonders.

Technically speaking a supply unit actually counts as a rare resource as its a compiled package made back during the old world. Its what makes supply so damned valuable in the new world.

As a corp you can cannibalize and treat ordinary resources as a material or as other civs think a rare resource. This isn't technically true because rare resources is more then just raw, recycled, or refined material.

as it ALSO includes expertise and tech behind it. As a corp remnant your lacking in both but in exchange have production and recycling.

Your counterpart in turn the Think Tank is the opposite. It has expertise and tech but is lacking in production and recycling. This means that yes SHOULD a think tank and corp remnant combine themselves you will supposedly have both...but your forgetting a few critical parts.

One is knowledge. A think tank remnant is also just that a remnant and their data too has been ravaged. Not to mention they have a specialty. Outside that specialty they are remarkably less useful. So even IF they find a corp to work with technically speaking at BEST they can only-
>>
Rolled 40 (1d100)

>>46701147
produce items of comparable tech to old world...but this is assuming you have the same resources. Which almost assuredly they do not.

Fortunately for the think tanks their tech is cutting edge. So long as its their specialty their tech can even surpass old world tech!

So how does this work with megacorp?

Its simple.

Its assumed that a think tank is capable of finding work arounds or extracting the few rare resources they need from ordinary resources to make function but in very limited number and more importantly is manpower intensive. Not to mention their tech is rather...unstable or 'experimental' as they would say.

So while their tech can even surpass Old World Tech it is almost assuredly not nearly as reliable.

So if a pair of factions is able to reach that point they will need to accept they will either 1 make little bit of unreliable but powerful tech or 2 accept supbar but reliable.

But remember this is only by THEIR standards. They have the highest tech levels of ALL factions(with technically think tank be further ahead but weaker industrial base reminescent of the Old World that the corp remnants enjoy)! So their idea of 'unreliable' or 'subpar' is actually quite skewed compared to other factions. Even the mighty paramilitary factions have to accept one very scary truth...

every bullet.

every piece of gear.

Every goddamn bolt.

IS an irreplaceable treasure. At best AT BEST they can either get a lot of cheap knock off Corp replacement a few an unstable Think Tank ones.

and that is AT BEST!

Otherwise their stuck desperately fighting and digging around for a precious pieces of the Old World.

And the aren't the only ones.

The paramilitary may have the gear...but what happens when they run out of parts? When their old world munitions is tapped out?

Now what about the fourth and often the most mysterious government remnant? What do they possess?

The answer actually a simple one.
>>
>>46700338

For they are literally the Old World in New.

This is actually hinted at in both their description and their ability to choose whatever trait they want...for they know things only the Old World could possess. Hence their peculiar civ trait and odd wording...

Only with the Remnant Civs is their heritage or more precisely reminiscent of the Old World is so easily identified. But the truth is ALL the civs possess a piece!

A piece of the old world only THEY and their kind get to enjoy!

So to truly bring back an old world is only possible if you somehow manage to unite ALL faction types under a single banner!

Yet how the hell could that be easy or simple?

Well bluntly speaking its not and seemingly impossible. Which it isn't just...exceedingly unlikely.

The reason is the in game way to qualify to Old World Quality is combining of ALL civ traits into one or more precisely ALL of their INHERITANCES! It will unlock the trait Old World! Every Civ has one that i can assure you of.

Truth be told I did it this way as otherwise the other option was far too complicated. This simplified it but still kept the difficulty.

So if somehow a force succeeds at that point they no longer suffer New World penalties and problems thereby allowing them to be roughly equal to old world.

anyway rant over. Went on a bit of a tangent but it was a rather important and interesting one.

>>46700338
Resource Extraction Center under construction. By sacrificing a one resource we can gain a SINGLE material. Current limitations means it can only treat a single resource at a time per a turn.

Team Thunder states it depends on the materials. Generally unrefined materials are scattered around here and there, but the refined stuff can only be found in Old World sources.

Luckily as a corp you don't distinguish between the two thanks to a corporate industrial capacity.

Free Tip for this thread.

The best way to assimilate another faction is by somehow recruiting another faction hero type. Obviously this is difficult but a hero matching a faction your trying to assimilate goes a long way.

Tip for last thread is that there are different forms of assimilation. This can be seen in Hybrid Civ types(who are more reminiscent of the Old World) and through the methods the bandits are likely to employ.

Hybridizing is a very difficult process however but if successful it directly upgrades your civ. Assimilation meanwhile doesn't offer the same benefits but has more indirect effect or influence.

>>46701651
They get treated as a general material. Resource extraction allows you to draw something out in particular including rare and exotic materials.
