I am now accepting applications for /tg/ FUMBBL League III. There will be two divisions, as before.
In the Veterans league, as usual, this is completely open-weight to any returning /tg/ League teams (either from League I, League II or both), or anyone cuh-razee enough to want to enter a fresh team.
In the Rookies league, any coach may enter a fresh team, or a returning team from either previous /tg/ Leagues under 1200 Tournament Weight (which is different to Team Value).
As usual, players may only enter one team total.
To apply, PM me on FUMBBL (user: MauledByTheTigers), stating your Team Name and which division they want to play in. Apply your team to the group, and ensure they are READY TO PLAY if not already, so you'll have to roll any skills or buy new players first.

Idk, I've never really played Flings and I'm doing it for the lulz. Also I'm not that familiar with Starplayers as of now. Deeproot seems really strong though.

14 is ideal for 'Flings - aside from Deeproot, you can also take Morg, Zara the Slayer, Willow, or Bertha Bigfist. Even Puggy Baconbreath can be useful if you have nothing else to spend the cash on - S3 with Nerves of Steel. You could also get mercenary Halflings with specific skills but that's hardly a good idea.
Star players are usually hideously inefficient for the gold but when you're rolling in 500k+ inducements after the Wizard and Chef it doesn't really matter.
You need one open spot on the team for each Star Player and/or mercenary.

Halflings and to some extent Goblins both live and die by the inducement list due to the discounts on the Chef/bribes respectively. Gaming the TV system is important for those teams (at least if you're aiming to win, and even then they're still tier 3 teams for a reason).

Getting a blitz on the carrier is generally the tricky part - anyone that's not AG4 is unlikely to break into a cage or dodge past a layered screen.
Secondly, popping the ball free and leaving everybody standing generally does not do you a whole lot of good unless you can pick up the ball and more importantly, get it somewhere safe. Even if you pop the ball free from a cage it's probably still in 1-3 tackle zones and within reach of a lot of enemy players - and no way to blitz them off, because you spent the Blitz stripping the ball already.
This requires a tremendous investment of your own players and a lot of high risk ball handling rolls. Often the players you need will be tied up elsewhere, which limits it to agility/speed teams who have less of a problem getting the requisite players free, making an opposed pickup, and then getting safe.

Like how bout we group all 25 teams (or how ever many races we have) into groups of 4 races. The race with the best points per team ratio gets to send their best team that wouldn't make the playoffs into the playoffs as a wild card. Maybe the 2 best race groups so that the numbers balance better or something? I held him out of scoring range in the first half and in the second half he had a couple turns where he could have scored but for some reason stayed in his cage so I blew it up to win.

Also what do you pick as a second double for a mummy? Block is the first double, do you go dodge, side step, jump up, or tackle and why? For mummies do you take the doubles on +St or the +St. On a normal big guy you take the doubles every time. On a tg you take +st to blow up cages. But mummies are only ma 3. I can see taking +st after you roll a +ma or doubles

Human ogre should get stand firm. With block -2d block isn't that risky when all you want is a push stand firm prevents that. Also with the mummies I would give one grab and the other stand firm.
