You've been contracted by GW to do a full Dark Eldar style redo for the SOB. They have demanded that they get at least 5 Special and Heavy Weapon options as they want to sell new basic sisters to existing players.

What do you give the SOB?

Of course, they also get a heavy suit that can slow and purposeful themselves about the field.

Rework Acts of Faith. Either they're one use but don't require a leadership test or they're multi-use and do. Otherwise they're just shittier versions of guardsmen orders.

Celestians are no longer "close combat specialists" give them a role somewhere near sternguards with ammunition choices. Since they're sisters, incendiary ammunition and anti psyker bullshit. The condemnor boltgun was a cool idea but basically useless, give a celestian squad an ammunition type that does the same thing and call it a day.

Sisters are best known for being able to incite mobs of expendable zealots within the local populace. Give them access to tarpit units of imperial cultists with the ability to firebomb themselves for maximum allah ackbar.

They're the militant arm of the Ordo Hereticus for the emprah's sake. The should be designed to fuck over psykers. New commander traits for: 1. any time you deny the witch, the caster suffers perils. 2. Flamers and heavy flamers now have Purging Flames: if a psyker is caught in the template, force a perils roll. For any psyker removed from play this way, deal 1d3 more hits to other models inside the template.

SOB squads get grenade and rocket launchers, as usual with incendiary options.

Airmobile options for fucks sake.

They have literally no superheavy options. Just put tracks on a cathedral and fill it with flamethrowers. Done. How fucking hard was that?

I'd give them a variant on imperial launchers.

Single shot disposable tubes with Shredder rockets. Only 1 shot but the entire squad gets them rather than a single dude. They don't get Melta or Krak as it would make them too good at long range anti tank. So their solution to aircraft is 'A unit raises launchers' and hope they have more units with them than the enemy has planes.

Maybe give then an Inferno rocket version too that is used by imperial zealots. A horde of brave, brave idiots with BS 2, Autopistols and 1 shot rockets.

I think the Relic Hunter SOB Orders could easily fill that role. Infiltrate, Move Through Cover and access to some otherwise unseen relics. Like Archeotech Pistols and such.

Like Famulous going full Bene Gesseret and having people charge them make disorganized charges as they are stunned and shocked by the sheer force of words being leveled against them.

Orbital strike setting small area on fire. All models passing or standing in this area take Heavy Flamer hit. Missile warheads look like statues of saints and martyrs.

It would make the whole army better and you won't have any of these cases where your unit will only be good for one turn or you are paying for battle sisters to be faithful but they will never use their ability due to you using all your points on other better units.

Faith points are a thing again.Acts of Faith are not the stupid "once per game" bullshit, each/most units have their own act ,and each act have own Faith point value.
You have to roll 5+ for each Faith point used in an act. Sister Superior gives +1 to roll,Simulacrum lets you reroll. You also get +1 if another sister's unit died within 6' of the "casting" unit. Does not stack
Act's are own unit only.
You can sacrifice some points and use them to dispel Psychic Powers.


Sisters are now the durable shooty midrange army with some heavy hitting units.

Special Weapons will be:
>Storm bolter
>Melta
>Flamer
>Assault Crossbow that causes Perils of the Warp if wounds psykers
>Tri-barreled shotgun S6 AP4 that overwatches at BS2.

Heavy Weaponry:
>Heavy Bolter
>Heavy Flamer
>Multi Melta
>Frag cannon from Deathwatch,possibly with napalm throwing mode

As for new units:
HQ

What I'd do with faith powers is have every unit have a rule and THEN have independent characters have a rule they give any squad they are with.

So a Cannoness can inspire her squad with Favored Enemy or Hit and Run. Make the Independent Characters a bit supportive to make up for the fact they are never going to be Marines in a brawl.

Also: Give the god damn independent characters a half-decent ranged armoury. A woman who's BS 5 and WS 4 should not have a heap of fancy melee weapons but nothing better than a stormbolter for ranged.

I don't see a point of making them female only. GW are going to release new necromunda miniatures so I would imagine they would want to encourage people to use them in 40k.

Makes the unit sound kinda dull and pointless (you could just take guardsmen instead). I would give the leader the war hym special rule(pic related) and give them the same wargear option they had last time (eviscerators and normal special weapons).

They'd have to be female, no frateris Militae allowed to the ecclesiarchy any more, priests are the exception. Vraks happened because a Cardinal thought that with some extra bodies he could cleanse the Eye, and eventually was corrupted by an alpha legion sorceror. That said, its not like GW has never played fast and loose with established lore before

The ecclesiarchy is not allowed to have men under arms.

They are perfectly within their rights to have male staff in other capacities. They are allowed to arm their priests (to protect themselves of course) and they're allowed to whip up a civilian militia to a fervor and point them at the moral outrage if the day (be it heathens or orks).

So yeah, dirt cheap, WS-bad, BS-shit rabbles are totally cosher, if you're still including ecclesiarchical stuff like priests and fellangents, that is.

... which they might not, going forward. A lot of the shade GW throws at the sisters in fluff has actually been towards the ecclesiarchy and religion in general.

Casual nerddom has an entire subset that will buy sisters just because they're girls, their rules need to incentivize people who play the game in order to secure them in the long term. I don't see anything about frateris militia being exclusively female in the fluff.In fact we have male Flagellants and penitent engines.

One order in the Ecclesiarchy has male guards. The fluff states that the spirit of the no men under arms is preserves as their numbers are small .

I'd add Astropaths to the army for the Psyker role. Astropaths are Soul-Bound to the Emperor Himself and the SOB serve on the black ships so they are likely to have interaction with each other.

Make them decent pyskers with a lot of innate protection vs perils and a limitation of 'Only telepathy'.
