Our DM once tried to steamline us into talkig it out with goblins that were wrongfully enslaved by a human and then played against a human village by some evil asshole.

'Nobility' varies a lot between the different clans, but they all value martial capability very highly (which makes sense because Draenor wasn't a very easy place to live in even before the Legion fucked it all up). Many orcs value honor in battle very highly, particularly in their trial-by-combat type duels which are supposed to be won without the aid of magic or trickery. They also look down on attacking noncombatants (or they did before the First War and again after once they got their heads screwed on straight) and avoid bringing down the hammer on locations which aren't tactically important. Garrosh straight up drops one of his generals off a cliff for attacking a neutral druid academy.
The Frostwolf clan would probably fit closest to the modern definition of 'Noble.' They look to their ancestors for guidance and try and seek balance with the elements through their shaman. Very upstanding guys. But the Frostwolves are the exception, not the rule. Most orc clans are going to be much closer to the Warsong clan, who take what they need from whoever happens to have it, usually with a lot of burning and pillaging involved.

I missed the one session of our campaign where the party could have attempted to negotiate with goblins, and my character was the only one fluent in their language, and the only one with any appreciable experience with goblinoids beyond violent skirmishes.
When I came back the next week, one of the beardlings was trying to gut some strange goblins. It was a pretty big disappointment.

I've actually diplomacy'ed kobolds before. We encountered a group of them in a ruined city, and managed to suss out the fact that the leader of that group had been the lady chieftain of her tribe before a strange outsider had deposed her and brainwashed most of the tribe. Only her most loyal kin and allies followed her into exile, where she found us. We actually managed to converse in broken common, and the paladin and my cleric character managed to persuade the ne'er-do-well degenerates in our party to aid the locals in securing freedom from tyranny and achieving self-determination.
We killed the monstrous creature that had conquered them (Some kind of man-sized reptilian creature with a sinister aura; none of the characters recognized it) and not a single kobold life was lost that day. It was very inspiring.
