>What is known is that there is a phenomenon called the sheep-goat effect where non-beleivers who themselves may be psychics who have yet to unlock
their powers interfere with the use of psychic powers.
>non-beleivers

With that out of the way, as worded, it's not clear from "non-believers who themselves may be psychics" whether all non-believers are potential psychics who interfere with your powers or potential psychics are a minority among non-believers. [spoilers] I ask because it seems like it *might* be similar to sleepers in mage, but the passage is not entirely clear.[/spoiler]

A lot of the Generic jumps include very specialised reality warping. And on that note, Star Trek TNG/DS9 has some "weird" perks, as well.

>>48221204
How would this take effect post-jump?

>Resistance- 200cp: Choose one of the supernatural paths available in this jump other than mundane. You have
an inborn or trained resistance to the supernatural perks of that path. While this does not confer
immunity, attacks with them will deal less damage and less direct methods will have a harder time
effecting* you.

*affecting, in this context.
>>
>>48221386
It would effect similar abilities. A resistance to a psychic's powers would translate to other psi-type abilities, etc.

If you think about it, it's really just a regular surburbanite jump, except you're a goat. And also the physics are kind of glitchy.

They have TV and video games and barbecues and also magic demon summons and slendergoat.

You can basically treat it like a slice of life or vacation jump if you want, except there's the possibility that a car hitting a pothole will send it catapulting across the city for some reason.

243. Starcraft Zerg
Location: Mar Sara
Origin: Freshly Born, Age: 1 Hour
Perks: Burrowing, Willful, Parasite (-100), Spawner (-200), Essence Spinner (-300), Vision (-100)
Items: Resource Cache (-200), Organic Database (-300)
Units: Zerglings (-50), Drones (-50)
Drawbacks: The Sons of Korhal (+300), Hostile Hive (+300)

Well, I mean, I did just go to Starcraft Terran and then detoured into the new Ben 10 jump, so I might as well take some of the DNA I gathered and do something fun with it. I mean, I've been collecting the stuff since Jump 11 or so, but Ben10 really takes the cake. I am now king of a bunch of adorable buggies and I will pet them and give them lots of enemies to devour. I mean, the SoB are complaining about "becoming the fucking nids" and everyone is preparing for another jump where I go over the edge, and that really sounds like fun.

So, I did. I set the Jumplands up and strictly forbid my swarm from touching them, and we're ruling the planet as the new dominant species. Ghost-type Zerg. XLR-8 Zerg. Demon Zerg. Martian-Zerg. Even Zerg-pillbugs for kids to ride around on at the petting zoo. And the area around the planet is a fucking minefield, usually literally, but it's always fun to get creative. We only opened up when Kerri came knocking, and I explained the whole deal with jumpers, and offered my support for the swarm. I even revealed all that happened in the last Starcraft jump, which changed surprisingly little. She went willingly through the steps, under her own power and designs this time. She even had me enforce her will on herself post-cleansing. I offered what assurances I could, but frankly the giant rat-bug is not your friend, no matter how much hot cocoa they give you.

PS. MIngsk is a bastard and the Zerg are sneaky shits. The planet was nearly glassed several times before I just invested in super-teleporting defense towers and out of jump tech to handle things. The rival swarm, meanwhile, stole DNA willy nilly.
>>

Among these, the most useful are probably Minecraft, Godzilla, SCP, and maybe Spooky's house of jumpscares.

Jump into Sekirei.
Take the Drawback where both Karasuba and Miya put aside their differences to hurt you.
Take them as your Sekirei.

Rate my idiocy.
>>
In overlord the light novel/anime jump, would Innate talent Martial Arts prodigy also let you learn normal martial arts in a faster amount of time?
>>
>>48221549
Dead/10
>>
>>48221549
Well I would say rather high unless you are a high power jumper. Karasuba has cut battleships in half with a single strike and Miya is at least that level. They are mildly psychic so they are tough to hit even with surprise attacks. Karasuba is a psychopath so she will hack her way through virtually anyone to get to you.
You might want to disappear for 10 years if you can't handle all of that. If you can handle all that then all you have to deal with is MBI suddenly in your business because you just took on they two most powerful Sekirei and won. Even if you succeed the fallout may be even worse.
>>
>>48221621
If you can beat both Karasuba and Miya at once then MBI doesn't really have much of anything that'd threaten you.

How far away can you move stargates?

If you reverse engineered stargates could you make small ones?

If you stick your hand in a stargate does it come out the other side or do you need to walk all the way through?
>>
>>48221621
Miya was the one cutting battle ships, Karasuba is actually way below that level.
>>
>>48221675
>How far away can you move stargates?
As far as you like, but if you move them more than a certain distance (I'm not sure the exact distance was ever specified, but I'd guess a solar system or two) from their address point you need to update the network or all the co-ordinates they use are wrong.

>If you reverse engineered stargates could you make small ones?
I don't think that was ever specified, but probably.

>If you stick your hand in a stargate does it come out the other side or do you need to walk all the way through?
All the way through.
>>
>>48221675
>How far away can you move stargates?
Really damn far, as some of them were even used to cross galaxies. The problem doesn't seem to be one of distance. Rather, you have to determine new dial-codes for one if you move it (which shouldn't be that hard).

>>48221675
>If you stick your hand in a stargate does it come out the other side or do you need to walk all the way through?

All the way through. It actually sends your data to the other gate, so sticking your hand through doesn't seem like a particularly good idea.
>>
>>48221711
>>48221716
Thanks.
>>
>>48221675
As far as you want (within a universe), only their address will change if you move them too far (and the energy requirements will go up).

Yes.

No and yes. There's some kind of weird transition non-space in the wormhole that connects two stargates, that is never properly explained. Oh and there is one episode that claims there is a trek-style transporter-like buffer that appears to have been invented solely for that episode and contradicts several others, so fanwank something.

>>48220963
>>48221654

Does The Night Is Dark And Full Of Terrors apply to really obscure/specific weaknesses? If so I think it might be more valuable than A Light In The Dark and you might wanna swap their prices.

Does Resistance cover Slasher attacks? I ask because I'm not very familiar with Slashers but from what I understand they don't zap people with hexes or anything, they just stab people.

Demonology...oh dear. On the one hand, that's quite a cheap price to pay for sending some VERY nasty customers at people. On the other hand those things ARE arguably worse to deal with than the Abyss so-kinda conflicted here, but I assume the intent is knowledge of dealing with things like Whisperers, Imps and Servitors instead of Inferno's elite?

About spirit channeling-after the jump, if local ghosts preincarnations possess supernatural powers e.g. Danny Phantom I think it might be worth clarifying whether the power can or cannot give you access to them.

Psychic vampirism-doesn't Chronicles of Darkness say such abilities in general treat powerstats as a resistance against this kind of ability? How come it only doesn't work against those supernaturals in particular?

Finally I think I said this before, but I'd like to suggest clarifying exactly what the Forgotten Book can teach you.

That said so far so good! My main experience with mortals comes from the God-Machine Chronicle so-I'm admittedly not as familiar as some might be on WoD mortals.

>>48221820
Digital Sorcery from Fate/Extra

Technically Sufficiently Advanced and Anartist from SCP could be fluffed as this.

And while not quite the same thing, Guru from Chrono Trigger lets you approach the study of magic as a science, while Mage the Awakening and GATE have perks that enhance magical effects based on scientific understanding.

1. I'll look at them and figure it out.

2. it would add resistance to the supernatural scourge powers. And post jump it would help resist "murder" fueled powers (like jack the ripper's in fate/-).

3. I'll put more work and explanation into that before the jump is done.

4. I'll review spirit-channeling

5. I'm just going by what Second Sight says. it says no, so no for now.

5. and yeah, I'll add that before I post the next WIP.

Whoa, hold on there-you...might wana seriously reconsider that? It's more or less outright stated that Inferno demons are the same things as the beings from Inferno, a region of the Lower Depths: Otherworlds that lack one or more of the Arcanum. ABYSSAL INTRUDERS-as in, the localised broken facets of reality-are intimidated by things that come from there, and it's debatable whether abyssal intruders are even sentient.
>>
>>48221937
So... these demons are less "demons" and more "things from beyond the outer gates"?
>>
>>48221937
Look man, I've gone to Mage with the sole intention of eating those motherfucking Abyss fuckers.

This build is focus almost wholly on being the embodiment of the literal end of everything forever.

If something is awful, I have to take it into my body and become it until there is literally nothing worse.
>>
>>48221937
Actually, here's my build at this point.

-----

Okay /jc/, so I'm making a chain themed around Doom/Ruin, and I want some help finding things for it.

Right now I've figured out the following:

How can I not jump here? It shares a name after my chain's theme! There are also Demons here, so I guess this is also a demon themed chain? - Doom

Sorceress of Ruin, also Blue Magic to learn Doom. - from Final Fantasy 8
Doom spell/magic. - from Final Fantasy
For more Magical Power in general. Also Demons. - Mushoku Tensei
For Abyss of Magic to overcharge my Doom. Also Dark Wisdom. Also see above for Magical Power - Overlord
For even more overcharge for my Doom - Terraria

Tower Persona, associated with disaster - from Persona
Aspect of Doom - from Lord of Light
Weird alignment, Ruin - from Generic Dungeon
Paige/Prince of Doom - from Sburb
Rider of Collapse - from Darksiders
Child of Moros - from Percy Jackson
Origins of Doom and Ruin - from KnK
Obsession with Ruin - One Punch Man
Aspect of Law, Doom. There are Demons here too, right? - Tales of Gods and Demons

Maybe try to for a contract with the concept of Doom? - Changeling the Lost
Fate, also maybe Paradox, if I can figure out how to use it for my own ends somehow. - Mage the Awakening
Take Over Demon Soul, used on Paradox maybe? They are called demons at times. - Fairy Tail
Demons. - Soul Hacker
Demons! - SMT

I actually need more more than anything else, supporting perks to make sure it all works, and on everything I need it to work on. A perk that lets me apply this to unkillable gods would be nice, or something I could use to invert the effect, such that it can effectively Anti-Doom or Anti-Ruin a thing. Not reverse Doom or Ruin mind you, but have the opposite effect of whatever Doom or Ruin ends up doing.

-----
>>
>>48221953
It depends. There are Demons that are more like spiritual embodiments of the seven deadly sins. These are more the kind you can usually contract with.

Love what you have, eagerly awaiting its completion.

Is there any particular advantage to buying A Collection of Literature rather than buying the books with cash during the jump? Are they all actually accurate with regards to WOD lore or something?

Is the omission of a price for A Harmless Stuffed Whatchamacallit accidental, or is it meant to be Innocent-exclusive?

Ah, I...see.

Well, in that case I take it back. You're definitely on the right track then!

I guess in that case, you'd better have taken some anti-corruption perks-not necessarily to /avoid/ corruption so much as to be able to keep absorbing such things without them taking you over and obliterating your consciousness Castiel-and-Leviathans-style.

>>48221953
That's a good way of thinking of it.

Think about reality as a delicious picnic-healthy and nourshing even though it's a little disorganised, badly preserved and someone knocked over the canapes the last time there was a big fight.

The Abyssal Intruders are like, worms and maggots if worms and maggots just made more worms and maggots from what they eat instead of soil.

And the beings from the Lower Depths are potentially worse. Hyper-parasites, the way they've been fluffed. Things with an absence of metaphysical reality that hunger and envy things that don't share their lack-things more broken than the Abyss in some ways.
>>
>>48221994
Absorbing how? Mage abilities are related to how their souls are connected to reality. I'd say since you are not gaining it with Jumpchan's backing they probably wont work outside the setting until post-spark.

>>48222010

1. No, but i'll think about it.

2. It's supposed to have a price, my bad.

Binbougami-ga lets you become a god of misfortune energy.

If you want to invite more "friends", the Necrotelecomicon from Discworld can put you into contact with the Dungeon Dimensioners, which are basically the same kind of things as the Lower Depths beings. They're physically very frail, but they're VERY good at amplifying basically any other kind of supernatural attribute and they can create much buffer bodies for themselves seemingly as long as they have enough magic and human belief, like reverse-Paradox.

The entire drop-in perk tree from Valkyrie Profile would help you better channel your doom energy in corruptive means. Likewise the drop-in perk tree from Okami is all about being a hotbed of demons that can darken land you're in by slaying local spirits.

The Shysh and Necromancer perks from Dogs od War would help you quite a bit; apparently the spells affect things for miles?

Do not forget to travel to Webmage and Okami to make your bleed chaos-infused demons. And both of them also have a lot of doom/ruin related perks, some of them with a little demonic taint.

Soul Eater's Madness-Wavelength could be useful for you as well. Post-Jump, if your madness-wavelength grows strong enough, it could start spawning clowns related to your wavelength.
An Angel from NGE can do pretty weird shit.
There are some pretty powerful digmons that rely of being a 'virus' to their world and corrupt everything near them. See Megidramon, for example. They're pretty demonic as well.
God of War also has some perks that might help you.
Spyro the Dragon has corruption adept and Obsidian Tower Trilogy has Corrupting Corruption that Corrupts.
Fallen London has some corruption and ruin perks.
8-Bit Theater has some neat dark magic
Forgotten Realms has the possibility to virtually become any NPC creature.

There are probably more settings that would help, but can think of anymore aside from the ones that you already mentioned.

>A perk that lets me apply this to unkillable gods would be nice

Depending of what exactly you want, you have Lord of Light, Banner's Saga and the 80's Action Movies to do that.

Some more just occured to me-

Power of Dominance from Castlevania, apart from doing what it says, is powered by a sort of eldritch primordial darkness which seems like it fits your concept pretty well.

It's possible for a Reality Marble from one of the Type-Moon jumps to have an effect associated with ruination and decay, ESPECIALLY if you become a Dead Apostle. Look at what Zouken and Araya made of themselves WITHOUT being a Dead Apostle.

Lovecraft's Waste Land perk gives you control over localised Color Out Of Space, which rots things around you-and can be concentrated to rot things faster

For a more scientific approach, if you don't mind be an inchoate mass Karmatron Dynamics from GUNNM could potentially turn you into an unstable all-assimilating swarm of nanites. Be sure to have some supernatural means of stabilising yourself, though.

Shadow Ops has negamancy which enables really, really strong decaying effects

I'm not sure if it deviates too far from Doom even if it's quite Runous, but one of the backgrounds for Webmage is to become a Chaos entity, with blood that can melt most things. .

Fall From Heaven has some entropic magic nodes. Innstrad's black magic node-associated lands might also help too.

8-Bit Theater's black magic appears to be all about ruining the universe for fun and profit(?). The capstone, which reduces the aggregate amount of love in existence to shoot a nuke, is an example of what it can be used for. I'm pretty sure Black Mage once conquered Hell through his sheer evil too.

The Warrior of Chaos background in Dissidia has all kinds of perks associated with hurting everyone around you for combat power.

And once you're powered up enough, Cast Aside This Vessel from Sword & Sorcery gives you a super form associated with your true nature which could amplify all the above by a lot.

So what if she just sets you on fire or pulverizes you after cutting you up?
>>
>>48222209
The only way to 'kill' an apostle form GATE is to cut them in pieces and bury their fragments a few kilometers from each other.

>>
>>48222222
And the jump says you get this form of immortality, which is apparently so good there is only a single way of killing you? Or does it just say you get good regeneration?
>>
>>48222209
Well Rory was fine after being eaten alive and having her predator blown up so. . .
>>
Alright Guys, i'm signing off for the night. If anyone has anything to add (especially item ideas) feel free to post in this thread. I'll check the archive when I wake up.
>>
>>48222239
It also says you're not on her level. I'm still not seeing why that'd let you heal from being burnt to ash.
>>
>>48222232
The jump says you are just short of Rory Mercury, so yes, yes it does.
>>
>>48222172
"Demons" means something specific in D&D, so even though Zargon the Returner is from the Nine Hells, he's a "Devil" and not a "Demon". I don't know if that distinction matters to perks or not - I suspect your perks should work on him.

He's the only one of the Elder Evils that seems to come close from what I can google. Some of the rest are aberrations, some are outsiders, some are demigods or undead, and those don't seem to count as 'demons'.
>>
>>48222249
Is Fisheranon around to clarify? The jump only says amazing regeneration, but does this include these feats anon talks about or is the jump version meant to differ from Rory?
>>
>>48222222
You don't have to bury them you just have to keep them apart, burying them would be a good idea though.

Also there are probably out of setting BS that could kill one.
>>
>>48222257
Is Fisher Anon still around at all?
>>
>>48222260
It's a spiritual thing that keeps them around as psudo-demigods, so things that attack their spirit directly could probably kill them forever relatively easily.
>>
>>48222249
It also says nothing on the level of that feat. It says you have 'amazing regeneration' and 'heal from bullets the moment they leave your body'. Don't you think the maker would've mentioned something as crazy good as what you're talking about? Especially considering, from what you seem to say, they literally can't be killed unless their body parts are buried in separate places. Which seems to be far beyond 'amazing regeneration'.

A few more:

Devil Survivor has a perk to become the demon king and a perk that lets you control demons as long as you're stronger than you.
Beelzebub let's you become the strongest demon in the setting.
Asura’s Wrath had an origin dedicated to corruption.
Mage:tA has the Death path.

>>48222274
They aren't killed when you separate their parts, but they can't be put together on their own (because unless you destroy their flesh, it doesn't grow again). So, nuking them won't work, but cutting them into pieces will effectively disable them.

These works for all the Apostles, not just Rory. And it isn't the strongest Ageless+Regeneration immortality. Alucard's embrace is much much more powerful.
>>
>>48222274
The perk makes you an Apostle and these are the feats of an Apostle.
>>
>>48222298
So this isn't even a function of their regeneration then? And is something not even mentioned in the perk, which makes it clear you are not the same as one of the canon Apostles?

Dunno about you but this is indicating to me that you don't actually get this, given the perk indicates regeneration, not being physically unkillable. Alucard's Embrace isn't more powerful at all. He certainly can't survive nukes on his own, not without sacrificing familiars and you can bet he'd have to give up a lot.

>>48222309
The perk says you aren't like a canon apostle and lists what you can do.

The only difference with the cannon apostle is that you don't offer your soul to anyone. And saying that you're weaker but close to Rory's power is just saying that you're average Apostle, Rory being the strongest Apostle (by sheer virtue of being the older one iirc).
>He certainly can't survive nukes on his own, not without sacrificing familiars and you can bet he'd have to give up a lot.

>>

>>
>>48222319
>He certainly can't survive nukes on his own, not without sacrificing familiars and you can bet he'd have to give up a lot.

You know the reason why Alucard is de facto impossible to kill most of the time is because at most they can only kill his lives one at a time. A nuke would definitively kill him once but so can a lot of other things, you have to kill him millions of time for him to stay dead. This is why Level Zero was such a big deal, it was the only time anyone had a chance to kill him by any method.
>>
>>48222404
fuck off, you're contributing nothing.
>>
>>48222429
Does he have invincibility frames in-between drawing on new souls to regen? Because if not, a nuke is going to strip away a lot of souls in one go. Maybe not enough to kill him outright, but enough that he's going to be in a very bad state.
>>
>>48222455
Sure it will do damage, the immediate effect of the nuke as well as the after effects are sure to kill more than a few but there is only so many that you can kill at once making any single blow no matter how powerful is a veritable drop in his vast ocean of souls.

Sure he will be in a bad state. . . for a moment before he recovers. Sure there will be a sizable loss to his souls. . . but Alucard just has so fucking many of them that a "sizable loss" is insignificant to him.
>>
>>48222455
>>48222494

I'd honestly think that he'd probably lose less than a dozen souls from a nuke's blast, and a few dozen more from the after effects, at most.
>>
>>48222494
>>48222512
So he does have invincibility frames? Because otherwise the effects of the nuke are going to kill him thousands of times per second before it dissipates enough.

Also, where did he get all those souls? He should only have a few hundred thousand, what atrocities did he commit that the Hellsing organization covered up to get him millions?
>>
>>48222530
A vigorous stabbing from a holy weapon would kill more than a nuke would because physical damage can at most kill them one at a time. It doesn't really matter how bad the damage is, it will still only kill him once. He dies but instead of him dying a soul dies instead and then he would recover, this can only happen so fast though and a nuke (like any explosion) is characterized by releasing it's energy as quickly as possible.

He spent a couple hundred years gorging himself on everyone he could get his hands on.
>>
>>48222530
He was alive for a few hundreds years and was a warlord for the most part of his unlife. He can harness a few millions of lives between huge battles if he attacks both sides.

And we don't know how much damage does he needs to take before burning a soul. For example, Seras was able to tank/regenerate a lot without losing her only soul. And the other Vampires tank a lot of damage (including their Brains exploding) before going down and they don't have the ability to 'absorb' souls.

And the only stance when we know that Alucard 'lost' a soul was when his head was cut, because that was a way to kill Vampires. Oh, and the second he touches blood again all his souls regenerate with him.
>>
>>48222530
Anyone who tells you anything about killing one at a time or not is full of shit because we do not get that info.

>>48222565
Don't say things you don't have evidence for. We know he uses familiars in place of his own death but there is zero indication as to whether it's one for one or a certain amount of damage per familiar or something else.
>>
>>48222565
My point is that immediately after a nuke, the temperatures are still going to be high enough for him to die over and over and over again before they get down low enough for his durability threshold. Unless, of course, he gets a grace period between dying and regeneration.

>>48222567
And he avoided notice doing this how? You can't be an undead warlord killing millions in every battle without drawing attention. So what, does he just skulk around in the aftermath, a craven ghoul scavenging for blood and souls instead of taking them himself?
>>
>>48222565
Depends on how his souls = extra lives works. If each soul is consumed as soon as the damage exceeds what would otherwise kill him, resetting his "health" at the moment, then a direct nuclear strike would rip through them like crazy. And the fireball actually lasts a while, it's not like a couple kilos of C4 or TNT where it's bang-and-done, the sheer amount of energy released by a nuke is so great that it can't instantly disperse.
>>
>>48222530
"Wallachia...it can't be! You consumed them! Your own soldiers! Your own subjects! " - Maxwell
I'm looking at the scene where he releases the souls and it looks like he's consumed Clergymen, his own soldiers, German soldiers from WW2, Ottoman forces and enough souls to release a river of souls throughout london.

When you have at least three major organizations seeking to exterminate your kind, you haven probably drawn a lot of attention.

He has probably suffered lots of attacks, but only Van Hellsing was able to defeat him.
>>
>>48222605
You know the story of Vlad the Impaler? He wasn't exactly subtle or unnoticed. He was a bloody violent warlord who killed ate everyone including his own elite cavalry at one point.
>>
>>48222605
>And he avoided notice doing this how?
He didn't, these were medieval humans fighting Alucard. Their armies were just snacks to him.
>>
>>48222627
So then those organizations suppressed reports of him, is what you're saying? Because a super-monster appearing on the battlefield and killing everyone with his army of shadows is something that would be well known, I'd think. You'd need to actively suppress any stories about him to get him to be just a folk lore instead of "yep, there's that demon guy again".

>>48222632
Hey, Vlad was plenty subtle. He just preferred a method of subtlety that involved lots of bloodshed.
>>
>>48222656
He just goes for some very long, enthusiastic walks

It's not his fault those walks happen to be paved with dead bodies
>>
>>48222622
I don't see any WW2-era soldiers in that clip. Looks like it's all the people he killed back when he was Vlad Tepes Dracula. Which means his soul count should be no more than two hundred thousand, based on the best historical estimates.
>>
>>48222184
Sounds a bit risky. Some prick could just drop your head in a peat pit and you'll be stuck for the next sixty odd million years going quietly insane until the cats/bears/ferrets/whatever finally evolve far enough that they dig you up while looking for fossils to prove that there was once an ancient furless civilization called hew-mons.

>implying that you can't hide history from the medieval ages.

You know, there are people that still think that Christianity was the bane of the Roman Empire and that the Spanish Inquisition were a bunch of sadists that enjoyed to torture people.

If Alucard ate most of his (or dukedom) kingdom in an age filled with pests and Empires collapsing here and there, nobody would really search for more explanations. The Muslims were pressing hard on that zone, if they suddenly disappeared they would get the blame.
>>
>>48222674
I saw what looks like WW2 german soldiers when I froze the scenes but I could be wrong and mistaking the helmets with other things but he was released in WW2 so I wouldn't be surprised if there were some german souls in his gullet.

>>48222656
>Hey, Vlad was plenty subtle. He just preferred a method of subtlety that involved lots of bloodshed.

I hope that's irony. Because he was a guy that used terror against his enemies to prevent his Estate from being invaded while being badly outnumbered.

>>48222714
He also ate lots of Turks. And spend a few centuries doing some pretty nasty things.

Van Hellsing defeated him in the late XIX century.
>>
>>48222710
A little bit of irony, a little bit of acknowledgement that using terror instead of outright force is in its own way rather sneaky.
>>
>>48222724
He ate one hundred thousand Turks, based on what we can tell. So fine, he's up to 600 thousand. We've still got 400 thousand to go.
>>
>>48222714
He was a warlord, there were plenty of armies around to munch on and humans with sharp sticks and the occasional sword are about as threatening to him a termites.
>>
>>48222674
I think this is where the 'alternate history in which vampires are real and Vlad Tepes becomes Dracula becomes Alucard' comes into play. It's entirely possible there are a lot more horrible bloody deaths in that world that simply didn't occur in our world. As to how it's kept a secret? Millenium kept making a shit ton of zepplins a secret, so maybe the secret conspiracies in a world with tech beyond our level and several types of supernatural entity are better at being secret conspiracies than the ones in our world.

In short, we don't know how things came to be the way they are, only that they somehow did. Maybe there are reasons for logical inconsistencies, and maybe there aren't. We don't know.

>>
>>48222820
I've been thinking about using the first and last of these before, especially since you can replace the brainwave network with the tiny computer or the Misaka companion fairly easily at a slight loss of diversity

>>48222821
I think it's mostly how the Special Region treats new weapons as if they can just win if they keep up their old tactics. Were the Special Region to go to a place like, say, the Forgotten Realms setting then casters would have shut down the JSDF instantly, but the Special Region is a really low fantasy setting when you get into how their magic works. It obeys physics and while that means they can make it better by understanding sciences and shit it also means that they don't have the kind of protections that are normally attributed to magic users of their type. Protection from Arrows is treated as a Wall of Wind instead of a conceptual armor that shields against small projectiles by having a large HP bar to grind through. In other words the reason the JSDF is so freaking OP is because the wizards aren't doing magic well enough.

>>48222854
Multi-Skill Brain-Networking uses the principles that a telepathic network could be used to 'shift' all of the abilities and processing power of everyone in the network over to one person so they become arbitrarily powerful. As in Pyrokensis focused into a lightsaber and being able to use multiple distinct Raildex ESPer powers at the same time.

AIM is the energy field/Reality Marble effect that a ESPer has on the world after their brain has been altered, or naturally occurs in the case of Gemstones. AIM allows for limited reality editing of a localized set of physics, usually only one set other than the above example.

Don't know enough about Calculative nor Chimicaloid.

Raildex has some serious clone tech, programming clone tech, and robot tech for a world that tries to look like our own. Power Armor exists and in Academy City is fairly prolific in some of the cities enforcer agencies.
>>
>>48222977
It might be a good idea to pick up the reverse engineering shard from Worm and some form of super vision, just hang around outside academy city research centers and examine the tech inside.
>>
>>48222997
There's also a perk in Gravity Rush that lets you focus on an object so that you can see it from all angles. That would help, too.

>How much work
Dude. He read pages on a wiki. Is spending an hour researching a setting you're going to really that amazing these days?
>>
>>48222977
>Don't know enough about Calculative nor Chemicaloid.

Basically, the important things to know is that Esper powers are completely an effect of their neurological biology, and a lot of it's genetic, while usually primarily limited by the Esper's calculative ability, none of it requires the Esper necessarily be alive, and it also doesn't require the Esper have normal human biochemistry.

You can make robots with Esper powers. Level 5 Esper powers. With massive calculative ability through methods like artificial brains that carry the burden of producing the Esper powers and preforming the calculations. While forming a decentralized Multi Skill Network, and employing AIM Field Resonance, to create and utilizing Artificial Angels.
>>
>>48222967
It is probably more complicated than that.
>>
>>48223047
You'd be amazed at how unaware people are willing to be. It's honestly pretty rare that anyone looks beyond what is written in the jump itself, at least not without external prompting like it being discussed in thread.
>>
>>48222997
Or you could just pick up Clairvoyance from that very jump and use it to instantly analyze the entire past of their tech to instantaneously learn what it does, how it works, what it's made of, and how to reproduce it with nothing but a glance.

People seriously underestimate exactly how bullshit Clairvoyance is for a tech jumper.

Yeah, the world of Raildex is full of not-future tech that could have only been developed in the modern era by the study of physics in controlled settings impossible without ESPers. Supposedly we could have developed everything shown in the LN series but we never had a frame of reference until the ESPers helped out. It's thrown the Raildex world a few notches on the old tech base ratings.

Awe that makes me a little sad. Oh well delicious awesomeness above makes up for maybe non-awesome Clairvoyance.
>>
>>48223085
At least for me it's not the ability to see the future that makes it so strong. It's the ability to instantly understand everything around you. It might not seem that powerful because it lacks the ability to set people on fire but how much tech do you see you on average during your 10 years within a universe? Because if you've got memory perks you're basically cataloguing a mental index of how to reproduce every single piece of technology that you see in your 10 years within a jump. For me, the ability to not have to spend months studying technology is way more useful than yet another way of setting somebody on fire.
>>
>>48223097
And thats on-top of all the BS you could perform if you went to Biomega as well. Operating machinery with your thoughts, creating hacking mind worms that you could probably use as calculators, if you happen to get an esper jacked by them. Also, the Blame! network was really weird, I mean the network perma-banned people by turning them into Safeguards, if I remember correctly, and Sanakan turned people into safeguards by shooting them with darts or some shit. One of the reasons why I live the Halo Guantlet is because I can choose "Blame-tech" and get all the blueprints for the best goodies, like that first-class exterminator.
>>
>>48223085
Clairvoyance
This ability allows you to see through objects at first, and gain information on objects at higher levels. At lower levels, you might be resticted to checking for concealed weapons, reading books without opening them, or simply putting this ability to some rather naughty uses. However as you get better, you'll be able to determine the location, origin, past, and maybe future of things. Might even develpe into a form of precognition. You'll be able to know the probable outcomes and chances of success of a plan, what might happen to character A ten years from now, the uses of an ancient artifact, and destroy an annoying angsty person's speech on his dreadful past by recounting exactly as it happened.

That's directly from the Google Doc, so yeah. Higher levels allow you to understand the history of an object. Hell, combine it with structural analysis from the Nasuverse if you have trouble with that level of op without a combo.

>>48223215
That doesn't actually mean you can understand literally everything about an object though.

> Anyone know what the Cultural Artifacts item was meant to be saying before it got cut off, in the Nanoha jump? It's bugged me ever since I saw the item entry.

> Tips on how to survive said jump if you take 'Consumed By Darkness' as a Drawback would also be appreciated, whether alone or as a Sixth Ranger. I want to take those both as drawback for a first jump, for a theme, but suspect I'd get myself a sever case of dead unless the canon scenario happened.

This seemed to have been missed before the last thread died, so I'm posting again. Anyone got a clue?
>>
>>48223241
Clairvoyance was being used as a replacement for Supervision in conjunction with the Reverse Engineering Worm power.
>>
>>48223241
Which is why I stated that you can combine it with other things to get to that level if you are uncomfortable with the level of wank some people are pulling. They're saying that the part at the very begining 'gain information on objects at higher levels' means they can basicly Trace ala Emiya Shirou at level five.

>>48223252
No idea on the first count.

On surviving 'Consumed By Darkness' my first answer is simple. Fix the Book of Darkness. The Tome of the Night Sky was an awesome piece of work, all said, and all that you have to do is repair the Defense Program. Fate/Extra has some cool stuff that could allow you to hack said magic, with Conjoined Conjures (Card Captor Sakura) to smooth out the transitions and rough bits. However hacking magic is patented by Red who has a combo that literally allows just that. The Digital Pun-Pun I think it's called.

Once the BoD is fixed you'll still have to deal with the fact that your life is kinda shitty but hey you'll be free of the thing that kill you guaranteed in under a year.
>>
>>48223269
Honestly, Esper powers combo better with the Bio shard considering it's all based on biology that can be proliferated easily as biotech.
>>
>>48223241
Yes, it does.

At level 5 you're looking at the ability to pretty much experience the entire past of everything around you as if you were there. For tech this means that you were there from the very first step of its creation all the way to the modern day. You gain a deep, intrinsic understanding of every aspect of that object. You might not have the technological know-how to put all of this information to use but you'll know exactly how that piece of tech was created and what materials and techniques are required to do it again. And if you've got the requisite knowledge and skill it's simply a matter of reproducing those steps.
>>
>>48223391
Not really. You probably wouldn't have anywhere near that degree of power, even at level 5.

Heist and Symbiote Jumps have perks for that.
>dreamwalking perks
Dream Demon (Gravity Falls), Dream Weaver (spyro), COMBAT OPERANDI: ABSTRACTED THOUGHT(Problem Sleuth), Dream Jumper (Sburb), Dreamwalker (Wheel of Time and Lovecraft). Sleep tight, Jumper. There are a few more, probably.

>create worlds inside your mind
You have various routes here.

First, travel to Psychonauts to get your own Mindscape can probably solve most of your problems, and use Dream Demon and COMBAT OPERANDI: ABSTRACTED THOUGHT to do some twerking plus some Psychonauts' perks.

Another router is become an AI (the more powerful, the better), travel to SAO and manage to get the World Seed. You can run a pretty convincing world inside your mind.

>>48222967
Don't try to fanwank Dream Demon too hard. Trust me. Mastery over dreams is still powerful enough.
>>
>>48223359
Could you use that to just hand out Esper powers? Or that plus a bunch of other bioscience/biomanipulations perks if needed.

> Fate/Extra has some cool stuff that could allow you to hack said magic, with Conjoined Conjures (Card Captor Sakura) to smooth out the transitions and rough bits

Isn't Fate/Extra rather high-tier as jumps go? Doesn't seem like something you'd survive as an initial jump, unless you boosted your Servant massively using the Servant Supplement or something.

As for Red's combo, a quick google search reveals it's a multi-jump perk/item combo, which isn't quite what I would be after. As said, I was hoping there was a way to survive it with just the options from the MGLN jump alone - guess some Drawback just don't allow it, though?
>>
>>48223411
Why bother with giving them out, you can create them apropos of nothing even without it. It just makes it incredibly easy.
>>
>>48223417

Because that's a load of wank. You basically just determined that it'd be that powerful were there's not much indication of as much.
>>
>>48223466
Trouble is, we don't see much detail of what a LVL 5 power involves for most of the ones on offer. All we can do is extrapolate from what lower levels can do - the Clairvoyance one is a prime example, as IIRC the canon character who had it was LVL 2 or 3 at most.
>>
>>48223466
All he would really need is something like Psychometry from GUNNM in conjuction with Clairvoyance or Malleable Reality to make Clairvoyance do that.
>>
>>48223466
What exactly do you think “knowing the past” means? I guess you think it's “well, you know the past, but only this much and it's really hazy.” Retrocognition isn't a busted TV set where you get arbitrarily restricted amounts of info. I'll accept that there's probably some limit on the amount you can learn about something, like if it's extremely old you'd probably get less and less detail the further back it went, but for shit like modern technology that's extremely unlikely to be a problem. And even that's gimping the power for the sake of "balance" without any logical reasoning supporting such a limit.

Fate/Extra is easily survivable if you don't make it your objective to win but to survive.

Level Fives are stupid high in their applied power Vector Manipulation turns into hacking pseudo-supercomputer little girls brain and 'can't touch me' field, Dark Matter was virtually useless until the user refined it into something that is basically programmable matter, Railguns power can produce some bullshit things like the fact that telepathy only works on her if she wishes it (Mental Out can't touch her) and she can read your mind by syncing her nervous system to your own on accident, the one dude who's a Gemstone apparently stars in his own sentai film IRL, and Meltdowner's power can freaking no-sell anything that doesn't have some form of magic/electromagnetic shielding as it cuts through everything with nothing shown to take even the lightest touch. Also you can get Malleable Reality if the wank is too much like >>48223512 said.
.
>>
My thing with raildex was to basically use it to create quasi-shards I can spread around and use to make myself Scion without actually needing to deal with Worm.

>Fate/Extra is easily survivable if you don't make it your objective to win but to survive.
Do expand, good sir. As the 1v1 death match scenario you have to experience for seven weeks seems to hint 'survival = win the war' to my eyes.

Well, there's also the 'shoot through the Moon Cell till you find Twice and the Grail' as an option, but that has its own troubles. Like having the firepower to do so in the first place, and then survive Twice trying to squish you with Saver.

Are there any good tactile TK powers out there?

You could also get the tech and a good chunk of programming from the matrix. If you have the processing power to run a planet (not hard to get btw, jump supcom and halo and you should be good) the hard part would be filling it with AI but all you need for that is some ai programming perks, make them think they are real humans and make a bunch of them. Then have programming for them to reproduce and you are golden. An entire world full of people given the time with you as the all powerful creator god.

If you mix this with that megas xlr computer in a dimensional bubble you can do some crazy shit, especially if you have thensigitizer ray tech from generic virtual world.

The best way to beat a Nasuverse world is always the same. Have the Kaleidoscope help you in exchange for indentured servitude. The guy is basically Jump-Chan lite in the fact that he does shit for people in exchange for entertainment and un-boredom jobs. Heck the bastard would likely appear before you if you spoke his name three times in quick succession like with Beetlejuice, just because of the dry chuckle he'd get out of it.

Or if you feel like those options are too dangerous you can always just go with the boring one... >>48223804.
>>
What jumps offer actual plot armor as a purchase? I know Naruto does.
>>
>>48223832
Even if he can function despite Prana and such being not a thing anymore in Extra, I think he's not likely to want to get involved with random stuff on the moon, considering it's tried to murder him repeatedly before. He's also much more of an enigma than fanon would have you believe, with the Kaleidostick having been noted as acting out against him in Atraxia. Though if you go with fanon Zeltrech that sounds like a great way to get turned into whatever amuses him at the moment.
>>
>>48223878
One Piece, Thundercats, Project Freelancer.
>>
>>48223885
All of my major expectations on the Kaleidoscope spawn from the little that Rin says about his training, which is basically amusing himself while throwing her a bone every now and again so her genius can squirrel out things at her own pace. Fanon makes him out to be a consummate troll but i get that may not be all he is.

His power allows him to have prana as long as on of the Many Worlds has prana, cause he's connected to all of them or at least a lot of them. The Kaleidostick's rebellion is both funny and unexpected, something someone as bored as him would like in spite the fact it's acting out against its makers wishes. Also he kicked the moons ass back in the day and has much more experience at the point of Fate/Extra, if he still lives that is.

However the best way to do is just to ride the Servants coat-tails to the top.

Maybe you could lean the system in your favor by convincing everyone to team up and swear a geas to make their wish to retroactively grant a wish to everyone, that they can't use to undo the original wish or harm any of the participants of the compact. Then have everyone suicide but yourself.
>>
Speaking of the Nasuverse, can somebody explain something to me.

As Servant Caster I'm thinking of picking up EX rank Item Construction and A++ rank Magecraft. What would this actually entail? I have no idea what I'd even make with EX rank Item Construction. And as for Magecraft, Archer has C- in orthodox Thaumaturgy and A+ with Projection when he's tracing swords. What does A++ rank mean? It'd obviously mean proficiency way beyond any living Magus but can anybody think of an example?
>>
What advantage is there from the Reverse Engineering Worm power over just studying and replicating tech without it? Does it just make it easier?
>>
>>48224041
Yes. It guarantees you'll be able to reverse engineer anything. Doing it on your own has no such guarantee.
>>
>>48224041
It allows you to reverse engineer literally anything and you can do so much faster than normal. It basically gives you the ability to study a piece of technology and intuitively learn how it works and incorporate its technology into your own without conscious effort whereas you'd normally have to devote time and effort into marrying two wildly different technologies together.

You could study Imperium tech and Eldar tech and instantly fuse them seamlessly into one super-tech without any conscious effort on your part, for example.
>>
>>48223976
EX Item Construction (Caster Paracelsus von Hohenheim) Example: With this level one can create a variety of tools, objects and so, like a powerful mana cumulate crystal such as the "philosopher's stone", artificial spirits that correspond to the five elements called Elementals, robots endowed with multiple-body-synchronous-thinking ability, etc.

Magecraft of B rank was worthy of being 'Unparrelled under the Heavens' by Flonn Cumhail so A++ would truly be along the lines of say 'a magecraft infinitely close to True Magic' than anything else. It would also grant you an understanding of Magecraft beyond normal means.

>>48223790
You don't really need AIs for each person. Just a complex enough VI to fill all the possible responses of an average human/animal to puppeteer the avatars in the Virtual World. I think SAO itself had something like this.

And you can always get your friendly symbiote buddy to as a DM for you.

>>48224041
You can reverse engineer anything as long as it has enough 'science' behind it. Even magitech bullshit. As long as there is not much wild magic into it.

Of course after many Jumps you will be able to reverse engineer much of the stuff you come across once you twerk it enough. But with this you can do anything and right off the bat.

What's not to love?

A++ magic is probably comparable or a bit worse than Medea's magic, considering she has High-Speed Divine Words at A rank and that seems to just be a flat-out better magic system.

Eh, fuck it. Have quotes.

>EX rank only gives you the ability to make Noble Phantasms. You can get a good level of skill from previous ranks of IC, but that's mostly on magical item creation rather then focused in any one crafting skill.

>Mostly yes. The EX part of Item Creation just lets you make some sort of blank legend that turns it into a Noble Phantasm.
>You do have to make all the parts yourself, as if you were making a normal version of that item. So you don't have to literally create the metal that makes up your gun from nothing but you do have to make it from the base materials up.
>Usually in Fate, a Servant is summoned with their NPs hence the NPs being 'part of the Servant', meaning they can summon and desummon the NPs at will and they generally heal from most damage. Your's aren't just summoned phantasmal weapons, they're the real thing that you've made physically in the current time. You can't summon/desummon them unless you make them able to do that personally, they can be broken and won't innately heal but you can make them for more then just yourself, so you can give what you make to other people.

>Anon, read my earlier posts and the several mentions of the limits. But to help you out- You cannot make NPs without having EX rank in Item Creation and even then you can only make E-A rank NPs. Read the rest of the discussion if you want more info.

>You can have Noble Phantasms that are monsters yes, there's a few instances of such in canon and instances of there being item NPs that then summon a monster.
>As for Item Creation, it's meant to just be creating objects such as Excalibur or Gae Bolg. It's not really going to enhance any ability to create living monsters. You could create Bellerophon (The reins, not the pegasus) or something like it though and then put it on some pet or monster you've made with the geneforge though. That should pretty much do what you're aiming at.
>>
>>48224354
From what I understand they will not regenerate anything unless that body part is completely destroyed and it is unknown how fast they would regenerate in that case, presumably as fast as their more commonly displayed healing but that is unconfirmed.

>>48224339

>>
>>48224462
No. E+ would be equal to D rank. In summary each "+" is a x2 of the original value. So a C-rank attack which has a value of "30" becomes a value of "60" (x2) at C+ and "90" (x3) at C++. It's exponential.

It's also important to note that often (but not always, particularly in the case of A-rank) a "+" rank denotes that the power of the attack is enhanced under certain circumstances. For skills, though, it just denotes a straight multiplier to the value.
>>
>>48224462
E+ is 20. D+ is 40, which is as good as B rank in terms of raw power. However, there are a lot of things that care about Letter as opposed to Power, like Heracles' invincibility.

>>
>>48224523
It's also important to note that Noble Phantasms work on a separate higher system. A C rank Noble Phantasm is equivalent to an A or A+ rank regular attack or spell. And, like >>48224505 said, some abilities and Noble Phantasms work based on the letter ranking as opposed to the power, so if you've got armor that blocks everybody B rank and some punk hits you with a B rank spell (equivalent to an E rank Noble Phantasm) then it's ignoring your armor regardless of its power.
