Well /tg/, will you take the Palinchron, High Tide, and Snapcaster Mage OR what's in the mystery box?
I want to love this card, but it just feels so weak.

Palinchron, High Tide, and Snapcaster mage. That's just mad fucking value.
Also this card seems pretty weak to effects that manipulate the top of the library. Like say: Top in response. They look at the top 4, and put them into their piles. If the face-up one has a new card then you know exactly what's in the face down.

Ooh I'm sorry, your Laboratory Maniac is now gone, but you can always use your Mage to play again!

Top in response won't get you that value against a savvy opponent, since they'll just make sure the new card is in the downstack.
It's nice to see they recognize Fact of Fiction as a tame card. Shame they won't print the mechanically flawed version anymore.

The hasn't been a card this mind-gamesy since Mirrodin.
>>48162519 No, I get it.
The mystery card isanother Fortune's Favor.

True, but if the three cards are incredibly valuable you could force them into revealing the new card to you in the up-pile. It'll be hard but I can definitely think of some situations where you go 'end of turn, fortune's favor, you lose' due to how you've arranged your top three. But I guess by that point why not just use Fact or Fiction.
Idk this card is weird, and I love it.

That is amazing. Holy shit I want that card so much.

>if the three cards are incredibly valuable you could force them into revealing the new card to you in the up-pileIf they did, it would be a bad play on their part. If top resolves before Fortune's Favor, the opponent knows you know your top three. Putting the forth into the upstack just gives away free information. Even if the top three are absurdly valuable, you can always arrange the stacks such that any ones you want are in the down stack.
The only reason an opponent has to reveal your 4th card in the upstack is if they want to try to influence your decision. Say, if you're running a combo they know they can stop this turn and want you to try to go off early

>fixed Fact or Fiction
Nice. Actually good design in that it enables bluffing. Feeds Delirium, maybe makes it viable. Should see play in standard, likely too weak for Modern and above.
