Infinity is a 28mm scale skirmish game by Corvus Belli where eyes glow bright like diamonds. Green, multispectral diamonds.

So I love this model, as well as the HMG one.

Therefore, I refuse to not use them.
Same as running the Azra'il with HMG as a Blackjack until the proper models come out.
In that vein, what could I run them as when playing a Sectorial such as USAriadna and MRRF?

Foxtrot sniper, grunt sniper, really any profile with a sniper rifle. Give him a green beret and you're good.

Ariadna vanilla is just fine to play.

neat, any more shots with that chopper in them?
>>
One question:

Are Ariadnan HI affected by the Immobilised rule when hit by E/M ammo?
>>
>>48152517
Seeing as the non-hackable rule only states hacking attacks are affected I would say that they are still effected as it's the result of a BS affect.
>>
>>48152655
Hmmm...that doesn't really make much sense. I mean veteran kazaks maybe if they used exoskeletons for load bearing, but moblots? All they have is body plate and a helmet.
>>
>>48151628
>>48151925
I'm actually on the fence about keeping the long barrel and I might just snip it off.

Couple questions:
Best way to use Jacques?
Best way to use a single Wulver?
Am I a dumb as for spending 100+ points on Blackjacks?
>>
>>48153117

Don't, sniper Spetznaz is phenomenal and shotgun Spetznaz does the rifles job better
>>
>>48153117

Forgot about the rest:

1) Jaqcues is a cheapish camo Lt with an underestimated gun. He can either be essentially a pseudo tank Hunter with his camo molotok or just be a pretty safe Lt.

3) no, blackjacks are great. I haven't tried three of them but two seems like a breeze since the T2 sniper is an excellent ARO piece.
>>
>>48153375
I have all three models. And so I pray one can be an LT
>>
did the kickstarter exclusive models ever get released?
>>
>>48153436
I would bet money that they can be in the Kazak sectorial.
>>
>>48152778
I thought Moblot had some assisted movement servos?
>>
>>48154279
I can't see anywhere it says that. Though it would make some sense why they get 4-4 movement instead of 4-2 like others in ARM 3. can you link or provide a reference?
>>
>>48153714
not yet, as far as I know.
>>
Hey, stupid question.

I'm going to be playing in the Rescue mission out of HS3 this weekend. The one where you have to synch a civvie and get them back to your DZ? I can't find how fast a civvie actually goes; if I synch them with a bike troop, do they keep up with the bike?

How fast are civilian models?
>>
>>48154371
I thought it was in the 2ed HS book. I'll look.
>>
>>48154981
4-4.

Can't sync with impetuous or rem.
>>
>>48155113

Ah, under that specific scenario, I think they can. Specialist troops can synchronize 2 civilians, all other troops can synchronize 1. That seems to imply that an impetuous troop could synchronize. Specific scenario rule trumps general rule.
>>
>>48153117
Wulvers make great HI doorkickers. They're mobile, tough and deadly at short range. Send them up the board and shoot/stab/grenade people in the face.
>>
>>48155244
Other troops *able* to declare Synchronize Civilian can have only one Civilian in such state.

Sorry, I don't think you are correct in this case.
>>
>>48155244
>specific rule trumps scenario rule
i know thats a warhammer thing, but it's it started explicitly in infinity?
>>
>>48156020
Not that I recall.
>>
>>48156020

It *has* to work that way (specific trumps general), otherwise there are scenarios which don't work. For example, (since we're talking about H-S 3), the "Inner Area" rule out of the Engineering Deck mission limits the ability of AD troops to deploy using AD; regardless of your actual level of AD, you can't deploy using AD 3, 4, or 5.

The general rule for AD is the one found in the N3 rulebook. The specific rule is the "Inner Area" rule. The specific rule trumps the general rule when you're playing the Engineering Deck mission.

If the specific rule *didn't* trump the general rule, you could just point to the N3 rulebook, tell your opponent "fuck you" and drop an AD troop onto the board anyway.
>>
>>48156655
True, but in the situation mentioned (rescue) there is no such specific rule.
>>
>>48156655
that makes sense, but it could also be explicit rule trumps general rule, as one scenario explicitly mentions AD, but the other doesn't explicitly mention rems or impetuous. also look at inferior infiltration which RAW can infiltrate in the opponents deployment zone of specific trumps general

Wildcat links without spitfires make me unhappy. You should also find a way to fit an assault hacker in there if you're using multiple Morans, normal hackers aren't great at actively fucking with the enemy.
>>
>>48157195
I'm used to playing a HRL + Spitfire Wildcat link, but this time I want to try something more defensive and less SWC hungry.

I usually find myself with not enough hackable targets and CLAW programs alone don't really seem worth it. I prefer a general HD, even without remotes.

So, I'm trying to come up with a colour scheme for my new YJ stuff. With the ISS starter especially, I kind of want to go for a police feel, but most references I've been able to find are either black, which I find a pain in the ass to paint, or white, which I'd fear would end up looking like storm troopers. I've only really got a decent amount of paint on my Guijia so far, which I started before the ISS stuff came out. It's red.

tl;dr, YJ colour scheme with futuristic police vibe, what do? :(
>>
Help, I need the fluff books :(
>>
>>48159558
Paint it blue.
>>
>>48159558
I'd go with Dark Blues with occasional White. Mix your white with a light grey.
>>
>>48159558
Dark Navy blue, with bright yellow details.
>>
>>48158226
Give it a shot in a casual game, but Nisse are too fragile and expensive to spam IMO.
>>
>>48157113
I think HMG is a mistake for the Hellcat, but the rest looks good.
>>
Another color scheme question here. Thinking of painting my new Onyx Army with different schemes for each race. Went with Blue/Orange for the Sygmaa (evil Tooha), Orange/White/Black for Batroids and other Remotes and Original Green for Shasvastii. Don't know how to paint the Umbraa, since I don't like the original Red/Black. Any suggestions?

Boarding Shotgun or Combi?
>>
>>48161351
NMM is really hard to make look good in person.
>>
>>48162635
Usually shotgun over anything else, but a surprise heavy weapon can go a long way.
>>
>>48162635
Shotgun if you really want to kill a guy, combi in suppressive fire if you want to be an annoying shit on the reactive turn. Spitfire if you want to slaughter dudes and aren't afraid of the SWC cost.
>>
Shotguns are a great way to remove bunched order spam too.
>>
>>48163039
I know. If you're following a direct tutorial it's not so bad.
>>
When doing a coordinated order do the models taking part have to be within a certain distance of each other? Reading the part in the rulebook doesn't specify so I assume I can have dudes across the table sync their steps.
>>
>>48164054

Nope no distance, can be anyone on the table.
>>
>>48164054
Anywhere is fine.

Remember no sync models anymore, so Dr. Worm gets left behind.
>>
Thinking about getting into this game.

How does USAriadna play? Please ignore any dogfaces, I won't be running them.
>>
>>48164396

USAriadna are pretty flexible. They have good access to most aspects of the game, with the notable exception of hacking, and remotes (which is kinda nontrivial in a lot of respects. Both of those things are great), although they do get Dogfaces, your terrible taste aside.

At this stage they don't have all their sculpts because they're quite a recent addition to the game, but the figures themselves tend to be flexible, and good value.

The key thing to remember in Infinity is that most armies can field most things and play in most ways. The factional differences are as much list differences as major rock/paper/scissors design like Warmahordes or 40k.

You could get an army together for between $100-200. The USAriadna starter box is particularly good, as it comes with starter scenarios, dice, rules, some terrain, etc.
>>
>>48164396

If you bought fom MM today you could get it even cheaper during their deal. 60 bucks or the set, desperadoes airbourne and hardcase discount
you would just need a grunt box and you would be set.

They are still missing a ton of sculpts though :(

His fluff mentioned a shield. I'd be disappointed if he looked anything other than WW2 era Cap. I only wish the pose was a bit more "heroic".
>>
>>48163460
HMG costs the same as Spitfire in SWC on a Hellcat though and you could get in more favorable range bands. Especially if you forgo Combat Jump for Airborne Infiltration.
Midfield spitfire is better, but for a walk-in HMG seems to make more sense. And if you flub the roll it's easier to get into good range again.
>>
>>48164396
They're not as sneaky as other Ariadnans, but they're a lot tougher. ARM3 on a basic 10pts troop is insane.

They're low-tech and direct. Still have some tricks up their sleeves though, but their schtick is being surprisingly hard to remove with non-viral ammo.

Very few models released still, which also means almost everything new Ariadna gets is for USARF.
>>
>>48168372

USARF really needs a high-tier camo option added to the roster. Foxtrots and hardcases are nice, but it feels like an area we lack in something that can stack up some bonuses.
>>
>>48167880
The rifle Marauder already exists though, which is why that's strange. It's not like they can put a tinbot in the box.

Yes and no. Ariadna's theme is low tech sneaky guerrilla troops. All the sectorials should have more access to units of this type.

Red Veil has a lot of nice sculpts and useful units so it wouldn't be that bad of a choice to get started. Many a person got started with Icestorm after all. It will also provide you with terrain that you can bring to your local group/use.

Can you guys help me with making a budget JSA army? I will probably go all out and get everything for the sectorial but I need a budget list to get started and convince the wife that starting another army is not that expensive.

I did. Probably won't use the Zhanshi, but at least I'll consider them instead of jumping straight to Keisotsu/Kuang Shi. The Tiger's looking good and a Ninja KHD should be fun to run.

Might start a Haqq army, but we'll see how it goes.
>>
>>48185559
As the base line, I'd personally buy a box of Haramaki and shinobu as the core of the list.
>>
>>48185290
Yes, start with the haqqislam from red veil. I also recommend Ghazi Muttawiah. Theyre 5pt impetuous irregulars packed with nasty surprises. Barid, Al Hawwa, Naffatuns, Lasiq, and Djanbazans are also really top. Also let your YJ buddy know that there is a new Dire Foes pack coming out this year which is a box with a YJ and Haqqislam characters. It's a good pack to split and both characters are solid

If you are willing to proxy...you can get away with as little as the Starter box, Haramaki Box, Haramaki ML, and a HRL Raiden. Unfortunately only the latter. has a sculpt in the newer style.

But you can hit 300 points on the dot:

RAIDEN (Minelayer, X Visor) Heavy Rocket Launcher, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 21)

Basically your standard double ML Haramaki fireteam, with the required Domaru. Use the spare Haramaki as the unreleased Shikami, who is going to be your all star specialist. Have the Oniwaban sub in for his big sister Shinobu.

Basically use the Haramaki team to be your shield/ARO team while the rest of your team does stuff. Make sure not to hidden Deploy Shinobu otherwise you begin in loss of LT. She's your Lt as opposed to the Domaru since you can't use the LT order in an fireteam and an extra order with smoke is always nice. Use the Raiden to keep people honest but don't expose too early. Also you have a secondary fireteam with the Keisotsu and Kempei.

>>48186698
Your Jans are doing fuckall there. Heavy infantry should be given the good guns to make the most of their good stats, and bringing more than a couple usually isn't the best idea. I honestly don't know why that anon recommended the Janissary box, the Janissary HMG is the one that's really worth getting in vanilla.

Sekbans make pretty poor specialists, they're slow as balls.

If you're going to get Daylami panzerfausts you might as well infiltrate them. Even if they fail the infiltration roll the benefits from limited camo are easily worth 1 extra point.
>>
>>48186845

Alternative view: HI are going to do great whatever you give them, and letting them stay with their AP Rifle + Shotguns not only gives you an outstanding close up fighter, but also saves you SWC for the troops that need it to be effective fighters.
>>
>>48186845
Because Jans are good? He might like their HI. The Akbar Doc is in it in addition to the ML which makes for a durable ARO piece. The BS could be proxied for an HMG if he really "needs" another HMG toting HI.

It's nice to have options.
>>
>>48186698
You might want to lower the amount of irregular models in your force. The rule of thumb is no more than 2 per CG until you've really gotten the hang of them.
>>
>>48186698
First group is strong with a lot of high ARM HI wounds. However, The Janissaries are basically acting as VERY expensive order generators. The Azrail and Al Fasid will be using up most of the orders to cap infadels, so I say just drop the Janissaries (Or drop one and make the other an Akbar Doc). Free up some points for more bodies.

Also the Al Fasid will not be a valid profile for long. The Al Fasid in Red Veil is a completely new profile (so far we only know he has Veteran L, HMG+lgl with normal/smoke grenades, Minelayer with mine, and possibly Sixth Sense).

Second group is just bad. Everything being irregular means those models wont have a lot of mobility. I recommend sticking 2-3 Regulars in place of some of those irregulars

If you're playing ITS, you dont have enough specialists.

>>48186900
>>48186934
I think they are good. But they're not adding a whole lot to the army list. The Azrail and the Fasid will be doing most of the ramboing, so a couple of janissaries with rifles are just expensive cheerleaders in this particular list.
>>
>>48175834
Will this be balanced against Operation Icestorm?
>>
>>48186900
True, but he's really spreading out his orders. The Azra'il AP HMG is order-hungry even if you just use it for suppressive fire, and while having one Jan doorkicker could work 2 is hugely overdoing it.
I'd probably keep the tinbot one since if it's running into the midfield then hackers will have an easier time trying to immobilize it. Either that or take an akbar doc so it can push buttons.

>>48187111
No, but that's largely because Icestorm was full of boring profiles and they're being more generous with the HMGs and hackers this time around. Proxy your MB/Orc with an HMG and your Akali/Spektr as an assault hacker and they'll be more equal.

Hi Guys. New player here. I was wondering if i could get some thoughts on my PanO list.

Group 1:
JOTUM(Lt)

Nisse with Multi Sniper
Nisse Hacker(Combirifle+Shotgun)
Sierra Dronebot with HMG
Hexa with combi rifle
Orc with combi rifle
Knight Hospitaller Doctor(medkit) with Combi Rifle

297 Points.

I'm trying to go for a faux Svalarheima Sectorial, converting the medic from a hacker model and everyone else from the HMG models.

I've also got everything from the Op Icestorm box for PanO, so i do have the models to move stuff around.

Thanks in advance.
>>
>>48186323
Wew lad. You sure showed us.
>>
>>48188205
It's pretty bad t b h.

The Jotum is a pretty easy TAG to use, but it still needs support personnel. An engineer would be invaluable, you can just proxy one of your Fusis as a Machanist.

Making the Nisse a hacker is a waste of his talents. The only worthwhile profiles are the HMG and the MULTI sniper, because the Nisse is constructed purely for winning firefights.

The Sierra is good. You can't go wrong with a TR bot.

Hexa and Orc also suffer from wasted potential. A combi rifle is not a gun worthy of an Orc, and Hexas have much more helpful profiles to choose from than the basic combi. You could easily fit the KHD into your list and it would increase his usefulness tenfold.

Hospitaller is okay. I normally prefer the MULTI rifle doc when I'm running him solo, but that's just personal preference.

In general you're also running low on orders. You should aim for 10 most of the time, too far below that leaves your big guys order starved and stops you from using all those expensive units properly. I'd probably drop the Orc, there's not much he can do that the Jotum can't do better. You could definitely benefit from a special deployment unit like an Akal or Croc Man. Just having some Fusiliers to feed your Jotum orders wouldn't go amiss either.
>>
>>48187111
What >>48187224 largely said.
PanO's side of the box should largely hold up since they are pretty beefy if you upgrade it that way, especially if you go for the Fatherknight hacker option who is super boss.

Nomads will be somewhat lower on the curve since that starter doesn't really play to it's strengths as a faction. Nomads aren't all that hot in a straight up fight, which all of the other three pack groups will do better. It's when you start doing missions and start getting into Nomad's versatile workhorse profiles that everything starts to gel.
>>
>>48188205
Fundamentals: you have a TAG and six other units. The opponent takes a TAG and nine other units for a full combat group. Every model generates one order (turn) and you both transfer most of the orders to your biggest unit. The other guy gets more turns and wins.

You need filler units. Hexa and Hospitaller don't fit your theme and should be swapped for Fusiliers/cheap remotes/engineer.

You can have fun with cheap units. Fusilier hacker to cast supportware, Ac. Regular with mines, Pathfinder with triangulation, Minesweeper reversals, Auxilia shenanigans, forcing your opponent to double kill the Jotum to stop you healing it.
>>
>>48189259
>Hospitaller don't fit your theme
You mean Orc? The Hospitallers are a Svalarheima-based order, it makes sense they'd be in the sectorial.
>>
>>48189298
Yeah, like Montesas, who are in ASA.
>>
>>48185559
JSA starter, Neko Oyama, Karakuri box and find a Yuriko Oda.
300pts right there if you proxy some stuff.
>>
>>48188205
The thing a lot of folks do when they start making Infinity lists is they get this hunger to only include "good" or "elite" units. They want to make a small, elite force composed of pricey units.

Don't fall in to this trap. Don't try to include every good model in one list. Not only does it mean running a tiny list with no room for error, but it also means nothing has enough orders to be used to full effect.

You'll want some Fusilier in there, you may want to drop some of the pricier things to fill the list out a bit more.

In general, when it comes to 250-300 point games you will never, ever want to field less than 10 minis.

I have a CA-playing friend who does the same. He'll drop an Avatar and Charontid in a list with a load of other order-hungry specialists and end up with 4-6 orders at 300 points and he will proceed to get demolished because he has nothing to support his main units. The second he loses something a huge chunk of his force is gone and he can't retaliate.

Infinity has a bit of a learning curve when it comes to list-building and order count is one of the big ones.

I´m new to the game and I`m in the process of building a list for Haqqislam and I would like to use a Nasmat remote for my Ghulam (DoctorPlus) and I´ve got a hacker with me (Druze with Assault Device), but my question is this, does the Nasmat need to be in the same group as the hacker?

Also, silly question, do I need to spend an order with my hacker/TAG to activate a remote or can I activate the remote using an order directly "on" the remote, not doing anything with the hacker/TAG?
>>
>>48190855
No, servant bots are their own thing. You don't need a hacker or TAG to field them, just a doc or engineer.

You use the order on the remote directly, and it can keep doing things even if your hackers and TAGs are all dead.

Thanks guys. Here's my revised list:

Jotum Lt
Nisse with Multi Sniper
Machinist- Combi Rifle, D-Charges
Sierra Dronbot with HMG
HEXA Hacker(KHD)
Orc Multirifle, TinBotA(Unsure what this does)
Fusiler Paramedic
Fusiler
Fusiler
>>
>>48191863
Tinbots A and B make a unit less vulnerable to hackers. So that Orc effectively has BTS6 when dealing with hacking, because tinbot A confers a +3.

Keeping the Hospitaller instead and handing him a multi rifle would probably be a better plan, rifles work best at close range and Hospitallers have some skills that really help them at that distance. Doctor is a really neat skill as well.

Pathfinder and Fugazi remotes are both great at cheaply extending the range of hackers, and can generally annoy the enemy on their own as well.

Paramedics < forward observers most of the time. Especially when the latter gets deployable repeaters.

Samaritans can form Haris.
I guess you can cheat a little and make an unidron link to boost a single Legate.

If that Samaritan link can chomp down a few cheerleaders, it's basically ultra mobile squad of non-hackable operatives as tough as HI.

Two games in a row today, another two losses. I don't keep track of how many games I've played, because I know my win ratio is always 0%.

Seems like if I want to play with AD and Geckos, I need to downgrade from Wildcats to Algaucile or Jags. Not because of points as much as because Wildcats are too easily outranged by most LI, so they don't play very well as a defensive link. Also I should more often consider choosing deployment if I win the Lt roll, because the other DZ had a building overlooking almost the entire table.

MVP in both games was Bandit. Funnily enough I initially took him with a Boarding shotgun, but had to make him an FO to squeeze in a Tomcat.

And then he proceeded to spray his sticky stuff absolutely everywhere. It was funny watching Cordelia waste order after order on trying to unglue Scarface.

Also an HMG Hellcat should always be in the group with more orders from the start.

How much would people rage if Sniper Rifle was bumped to 1 SWC?

How's your latest plays?

They might only have their special Haris links, according to the actual Unit Profiles they don't have Haris.

And I'm playing the first game in my new league today, we're doing Firefight from ITS 2016. I've never played any ITS missions, how does my Hassassin list look?

Well the Samaritan actually has Haris listed as a skill instead of individual profiles having it.
How are you supposed to play the Samaritan anyway? He's a pretty nasty in CC but he has no means to actually getting so close.

Only idea I had was a Rodok link, build up protheion, then break link and hunt.

Though burst two on his vorpal weapon always sounds fun.

Yep which would seem to indicate they get it, but if you look at the Onyx faction overview it's not listed as an option. Hence my confusion, but it may just by an oversight.

As for how he's intended to be used, I think the idea is that he's supposed to be a ninja- you move up in cover, and then when you have to cross open space you count on your mad dodging skills to avoid fire and make it there safely. Effective PH15 on his dodges but it would be nice if Kinematika could be in the active turn though. Reactive turn he has PH 15 4" dodges which means he should be pretty slippery to hunt down by anything that's not like a Spitfire.

Or just stick him in a Rodok link and enjoy super accurate burst 2 vorpal attacks.

That would be a problem. Balance your terrain a bit more.

So after seeing the Red Veil minis, I'm thinking of getting into Haqq. Beside the RV box, I was thinking of getting Naffatuns, Hassassin Govads, and both Azra'Ils. I'm also debating about the new Bashi Bazouk and a Hunzakut. Any opinions if that'll set me up with a decent force?

Pic related for a quick draft of a list.

Yeah, other side having a decent sniper tower is a-okay, but that should still only have partial board control, with large part of the LoF blocked by other buildings, letting the other side maneuver without killing the sniper to some limited effect.
