From the moon Terra Nova, mankind has returned to the galaxy after lying low for centuries.
In 1242 After the Exile we established our first extraterrestrial colonies. We continued to expand, which led to a short clash with the mighty Ra'ktun Imperium - with the aid of the Omicron Federation and P'gar Theocracy we were able to sign a white peace, but our vulnerability was exposed. In 1261 the nations of Terra Nova formed the United Systems Republic, joining our governments, economies and militaries in order to protect our colonies. Since then we've grown stronger and expanded and now control 24 star systems with 20 colonized planets.
It is now 1282 and the Ra'ktun Imperium has grown stronger after a successful war against a rival empire. For the time being peace reigns across known space, but for how long?

Been thinking about it a bit and we should really try to assimilate the Elgaan by offering them knowledge.
We should open up our school for history to them in exchange of them opening theirs too.
I'm sure they're the kind who would love to start of with a scholar alliance and then try to have us protect them against agressive people kindda like the Omnicron could have done.

Equal rights are guaranteed to all, regardless of the circumstances of one's birth. Voting and running for office is a privilege, however, reserved for those who have willingly served their 2 years time in the Militia.
Different demographic groups mostly stick to the model that was before the Unification and colonies tend to be settled by one group predominently. The NPU was the most multicultural nation before teh Unification, home to pajit, ramki, pacharnati, darkskins and hibibi. They've primarily settled the Siddhar system and its terraformed garden world, Siddhar Prim.
Still, a thousand years of differences have not been forgotten overnight.

Make them pay schools for tutition in our systems and we give the money for the tutition of unemployed people who have been in the militia or womens.

Most unemployed factory workers would fit well in the merchant marine, for instance. Some may become crewmen in the warfleet, some can work in space stations. The colonies could always use more people as well - we'll be putting the masses to good use! It's bound to take some money to accomplish, but this project will be worth it overall.

they don't have borders against them.
There's no reason for them to join the war, in fact they're more likely to stay neutral or betray the Omni and the Lyuwen and i have absolutely no problem with that outcome as long as they fight the Ra'ktun which are our main threat.
Having our allies fight a war so that they don't reap the rewards is just gravy.

We have alliances with the Lyuwen and Omicron, but the other civilizations so far have declined joining.
The Ra'Ktun are licking their wounds after the last war they fought, pacifying the conquered provinces and rebuilding their forces.
The Ra'Ktun Imperium is still the largest and most powerful civilization we know of - they control a hundred star systems with dozens of colonies, hundreds of strong ships and billions of subjects.

I still think it's not the right time to act. Also if we get attacked we have a better chance for the aliens to see the Ra'kun are after blood.
I think we should improve our relations with the Ra'ktun next turn so they delay their attack with us if we trade with them. This allows us to increase our strength and population.
Also I think we should a government supported baby boom to increase our population at a faster rate allowing us more soilders to fight.

The Omicron government evacuated from the capital along with the remainder of their fleet. The P'gar Theocracy has thrown in their support, as have the United Lyuwen Systems - we're not sure what's going on with the Djishin Commonwealth and the Miwaraki Union though.

Our fleet assembled and warpjumped to the nearby Imperium system of Ugriend - the Ra'ktun expected us. Immediately upon emerging, our ships have come under attack!
The enemy seems to be at least equal in numbers.
We've got 35 corvettes, 27 destroyers, 15 cruisers, 2 battleship - casualties are at 5% right now.

Initial estimates were wrong - the enemy is superior in numbers! Were that the only problem we could manage, but their crews are experienced and their ships are stronger than ours. They employ carriers that launch attack fighters, fast enough to avoid larger ship-to-ship weaponry and capable of attacking the weak spots of our vessesl.
Casualties are at 20% now and we haven't managed to punch through the enemy encirclement, we're now half-enveloped

We lost one of our two battleships in the battle as it sacrificed itself to cover our retreat. The debris field was able to deterr enemy fighters and our fleet was able to pull away and warp jump back to the Ambukh system.
We're left with 20 corvettes, 19 destroyers, 11 cruisers, 1 battleship after the battle of Ugriend.

The Ra'ktun have taken several Omicron sysems already. P'gar fleets have arrived at the fronts.

We need to give the aliens allies some time to get their fleets.
Also on the side we could try to send a few small ships and they cause just chaos like raiding some planet systems freeing the other aliens under the Ra'ktun and arming them. Help cause a revolt in the Ra'ktun lands.

The Ra'ktun have unleashed their mighty dreadnaught-class spaceships, massive in size and power. Their fleets have conquered Lawak, the United Lyuwen Systems have capitulated.
Most of the Omicron fleets have been destroyed, the P'gar have taken a lot of losses as well.
Smaller Imperial fleets conducted raids on our outlying star systems - Jayug and Wersten were hit hard.
Now a large enemy fleet has jumped into the Ambukh system!
Most of our forces are stationed here - in the past month since the war began we've finished a few ships and rearmed some merchant vessels as well - our fleet stands at 30 corvettes, 21 destroyers, 12 cruisers and the flagship Atanius.
The enemy fleet that just arrived and will be in firing range within two hours has 1 dreadnaught, 4 battleships, 16 cruisers and 20 destroyers.
The Ambukh system has one fairly small colony on a tundra planet. A strong space fortress protects it along with our fleet and we have planetary fortifications and ground troops as well.

The enemy dreadnaught has mostly been staying behind until now. Admiral Derek finally understands it, but it's too late - all previous assaults were probes, testing out the range, firerate and power of our weaponry and the fortress. The enemy sacrificed a lot of their destroyers, but now their next attack is led by the toughest ships - the dreadnought flagship and 4 battleships, each of them equal in power to the High Admiral's own Atanius-class.

We're now taking a lot more damage and that dreadnought seems invincible! Something has to be done soon, the fortress is coming under fire now.

A perfectly-timed blast from our fortress' main EMP hyper-railgun disables the enemy flagship. Admiral Derek seizes upon the moment, ordering all ships to concentrate fire on that dreadnought.
Within a matter of minutes, the massive starship is broken apart by the power of our weapons.

Victory is ours! Caught between a rock and a hard place, the Imperial fleet attempted to withdraw, but in the process lost almost all of its ships. The battle for Ambukh ends in victory for us! Our losses amounted to 10 corvettes, 6 destroyers and 3 cruisers.
The enemy lost 1 dreadnought, 3 battleships, 10 cruisers and 14 destroyers.

The battle may have been won, but the war is not over - this was just one of the Imperium's fleets, intel suggests they have at least 3 more fleets of this size.

Terra Nova's factories are working hard to replace our losses, bringing our total spaceforce up to
32 corvettes, 24 destroyers, 13 cruisers and 2 battleships.
Omicron diplomats managed to get the Djishin Commonwealth and Miwaraki Union to join the war against the Imperium - with the help of these naitons, the total number of star systems fighting in this war amounts to 100(Imperium)vs175(Our coalition)
With the aid of our new allies, the Omicron have recaptured their homeworld and most Ra'ktun fleets have been pushed back to Imperium territory. An attempt was made to strike and retake Lawak, so that we could liberate the United Lyuwen Systems, but Imperium forces are still strong.

What's the next step in our plan?

We've gone for the systems of the former Jo-munshun empire, that was conquered fairly recently. We've fought several small skirmishes and liberated a couple of systems, but it seems the enemy is unfazed - they're using the fact that we've preoccupied our best forces on that front to attack our coreworlds! More specifically, the United Systems Republic! Ambukh is defended by a small detachment of ships and the local fortress, but now a large Imperium fleet has entered the system!
Our main forces are alerted to thatt, but itt will take time until they can reach Ambukh - by that point the Imperium will likely have conquered the system and be headed for Argosa!

Ambukh,Achute and Siddhar have fallen and the battle rages in the Argosa system when reinforcements arrive at last.

Sentinel Prime is under heavy attack, it's the last line of defence the planet has against an orbital bombardment - it would be nigh impossible to conquer Terra Nova by ground assault, but the might of the Ra'ktun fleet can flatten the ground itself.

Thankfully, the reserve ships we left behind were enough to slow the enemy down enough for our reinforcements to arrive

120 corvettes, 150 destroyers, 100 cruisers and 20 battleships stand on our side against 120 destroyers, 120 cruiser, 20 battleships and 4 dreadnoughts on the enemy side - this is likely the entire heavy fleet of the Ra'ktun.
