Well, I got a Monarch deck from by brother for an early birthday present. That's how desperately he wanted me back to the game. Been tweaking it a little and tomorrow's game night, so we'll see how it goes.
I've always liked the Monarchs, but they were kinda hard to get back when I was younger and really into the game. We couldn't just buy a pile of singles and call it a day, had to trade everything. Anyway, it's a fun deck because you get to lock down the opponent's Extra Deck and it's simple yet strong - perfect for someone who's been on a hiatus. The only downside is the occasional brick.

anyone else kinda hate how the game has become in the last couple years, it's devolved to be way too fast paced and technical for my tastes(personally I think being able to win the game in under 5 turns is ridiculous, also way too reliant in weird and overly complicated combos), miss the days when the game was a lot simpler before they added all the weird stuff that came once Synchros were introduced
