These new werewolves play well with the last set's werewolves because they let you pass turn without casting anything, to flip the SOI wolves, but still do something with your mana.
Also, this style of transformation lets them not be terrible draws in the late game, since you can play and flip them right away. A 4/4 that can't be double-blocked for 4GG is fine.

Commander has proven to be a good avenue for legends that never got a card. Plus, since we already have a legendary flip werewolf, they can easily print a legendary werewolf that doesn't flip to satisfy the masses.
Especially since commander sets don't have to fit the current MtG timeline.

They nerfed Emrakul. Originally she (along with all the Eldrazi) had the disintegration aura that has now been given to Ulamog alone. Now, she can only twist organic matter, and apparently only living organic matter at that considering we have yet to see a mutant zombie. (Innistrad vampires are not 'undead' i.e. animated by necromancy, but just in some sort of permanent demonic stasis)
Anyway it was confirmed that Ugin could have killed the eldrazi at any time back in the oldwalker days, and it was probably harder to make an everlasting cage for them than it would've been to kill them. But Ugin is superstitious and fearful, and doesn't know or want to know the consequences of a universe with dead eldrazi.

The entire battle plan of Oath of the Gatewatch was metaphorically "pulling in" their full, real bodies. The art didn't quite capture it, but gigantic planet-sized shapes of eldrazi meat filled the sky of Zendikar in that battle. They're dead as can be.
What happens from there may indeed be some terrible lasting effect, but Ugin said it may not manifest in a mortal's lifetime.

If they are going to do anything new with Ludevic and still upholding the traditional color identity of blue, his card mechanic is probably going involve drawing cards every time a zombie/artifact creature ETB or outright exiling creature cards on your side of the field to create Frankenstein creatures.

The titans are just the "hands", but they got the whole Eldrazi. The narrative even described how the broods were linked to the meat-sky above by some fleshy tethers. In other words, they got the thing the titans and every single eldrazi drone was hooked up to into realspace.
The situation you're describing is more like killing the Titan alone. The real Eldrazi retreats through the Blind Eternities to heal and find some less violent pond to fish in. But that's not what happened in OotG.

They're the grasping limbs. The broods lineages are tiny cells and the largest non-Titan Eldrazi are organs of some factor.
And they are indeed all hooked up to the true Eldrazi, who sits in the Blind Eternities, until the glyph of Ugin rips them downward into planar space.
The "true" Ulamog and Kozilek were present on Zendikar at the climax of Oath of the Gatewatch. They were huge, to the point of taking up the entire sky.

While I agree that G&G aren't THE 4-drop to make zombies great, I'd still play them as a 1 or 2-of in the right deck compositions. They're pretty helpful to trigger Prized Amalgam and are good graveyard enabler. If we get more zombies with effects like the Amalgam, triggering from other zombies being revived, or if we get some more that have graveyard interaction in general, the card could definitely see play.
