Surprise nobody here has been talking about this.

>From the company that brought you Epic at the wrong scale
>And Warmaster at the wrong scale
>Comes the all new Aeronautica Imperialis at the wrong scale!

Guess they gotta sell those fliers somehow, but man this seems like a silly choice. I mean, 40k fliers are just too big to really do much with. Smaller models work great for this sort of thing unless they plan to either use huge tables or do exclusive 1v1 fights.

>X-wing is shit 40K is where to true skill is at

-GW neckbeard
>>
>>48018944
At a smaller scale, which mean selling product you can't use in 40K, nobody above retarded would choose a GW system over X-wing.

And X-wing is starwars..

Not changing scale was their only hope for those to ever get bought
>>
>>48018944
Because you think anyone will ever play this game ?

they are just a cheap mean to get "miniatures"
>>
>>48018944
>wrong scale

It's only 2 planes:

>The sky shall be your grave!

Oh, boy.

>Stormcloud Attack: Faith & Heresy is an exciting stand-alone boxed game for two players, pitting flying machines from the 41st millennium against each other in thrilling single combat. It features a Space Marine Stormtalon Gunship and a Chaos Space Marine Heldrake, with an eighty-page softback Flight Manual detailing the awesome rules for stunning dogfighting manoeuvres, with a massive selection of missions, duels and dogfights.

>Any number of players can take part, tracking the exploits of their pilot over the course of several engagements with a Pilot Record Card, watching them grow from a fresh-faced rookie to a grizzled fighter Ace. Each rank they gain grants them new and better abilities, meaning you can become a death-dealing monster of the skies and send your mates crashing and burning. Remember, there are no points for second best!

Ehhh ...

>Stormcloud Attack can be played with extra Flyer models, and against other Flyers in the Warhammer 40,000 range – datasheets containing their Stormcloud Attack rules are available for free download on their respective pages.

US$3 worth of dice and $97 more for two approx. 1/72 size plastic planes. And the villagers rejoiced. Yay.
>>
>>48020671
>The sky shall be your grave!

Wouldn't the ground below the sky be the grave?
>>
>>48018944
Who would want to play this, anyway? I've played with the dogfight phase, it's shit. Basically everything is a blind choice with an effect that depends on what your opponent picked. 40k is paintball with plastic dolls, which is kind of fun if you're into the hobbyist side. Skies of Death is rock-paper-scissors with plastic dolls and lots and lots of tables. There is literally no reason to bother actually playing it, because the outcome is almost entirely random.
>>
>>48018944
Thank god everyone in my group still hates flyers after all these years. Only the chaos player has a drake which nobody really gives a shit about.
Lords of War are probably worse for the game, but flyers in 28mm are so fucking stupid...
>>
>>48018944
>implying this isn't just GW's way of selling flyers on the cheap without making it looks like "discount flyer deal, buy 2 get 3rd for free" which would anger their Zürich gnome overlords
>implying anyone bought the BaC, Deathwatch, or Imperial Knights: Renegade boxes for the game itself

Anon, please.
>>
Flyers were a mistake. This is nothing new.
>>
>>48018944
Since when did you expect GW to make decisions that make good and fun games? All they do is lever half baked shit into selling half-baked shitty models until they finally go bankrupt.
>>
>>48021207
Sounds like someone buys into the "GW is dying" meme.
>>
>>48018944
What's with GW and their obsession with the word Storm?
>>
>>48020996
>Wouldn't the ground below the sky be the grave?
I am now imagining a setting where gravity is reversed and tanks have to adhere themselves to the ground as they move. If they take too much damage they might lose their grip on the ground and fly up into the sky and oblivion.
>>
They've done this multiple times. Its just an added layer of depth to the army deal/battlefield equivalent forr flyers like it was with knights. Its just them undercutting themselves at MSRP and moving models. Assuming you buy legit models/want these this will make sense.

I don't even like GW as a company but after a time where they trimmed battleforces to being literally no savings and just a bundle package, this seems like a fine move

First, Dogfighting doesn't add a layer of anything except time. There's no actual tactics involved. Second, the Knights box was good because you got two Knights you could use in your army. This box gives you two flyers, only one of which you can use in your army.
>>
>>48021171
My God. You're right.
>>
>>48021743
>Le prequels were all shit
Maybe as films they are not worth a dime, but the Clon Wars (both series) were great.
>>
>>48022497
you can use both in your army. Allies have been a thing for 2 editions. Plus people are always thinking of starting a second army and GW wouldn't be opposed too that at all.
>>
>>48023531
nah the prequals are good. Not as great as the original trilogy. But still good in their own right.
>>
>>48018944
>From the company that brought you Epic at the wrong scale

Do you mean Warhammer 40k itself as Epic at the wrong scale? Or the new Adeptus Titanicus? Which thus far doesn't really appear to be at the wrong scale.
>>
>>48022497
People can have more than a single army senpai.
For example, the Eldrich and the Beast (horrible name) box is perfect for me, as I collect both Eldar and Orks.
I could get 3 of those boxes, and have a 3 flyer squadron for both of my armies, for under 200 yuros.

You sound like one of those guys who likes to complain about Jar Jar and how kid Anakin acted like an little kid.
>>
>>48025756
Both are bad, but I agree so far. George Lucas had a vision in the prequels. He wanted to tell a grand tale about a boy genius' fall to evil and the destruction of a republic. It all fails miserably because he's some sort of autist that can't write believable human interaction, but he was going for something. JJ is a complete hack and his movie was clearly written by committee by suits at Disney to exploit the Star Wars brand. The fact that its the same movie as the first one but with laughably bad characters is proof enough.

Yeah. They're going for the same repeating universe "joke" that Lucas did with the prequels ("it ends with Anakin blowing up a space station the same way Luke blew up a space station. It's like poetry") from the looks of this leak.
Two guesses as to what this tree is, and given that this is present, how good the odds are that VIII is about Luke reluctantly training Rey before she has to leave unexpectedly because someone (Finn/Poe/etc.) got themselves in trouble and needs a rescue from Kylo.
>>
>>48027800
I enjoyed the new movie a lot, it had a good sense of nostalgia for me while having a new content to keep things interesting and fun.

The only thing that made me question it during the first viewing was when Han shoots Chewie's bowcaster and acts like he has never seen it before in his life.

All of the fiction that you love is overwhelmingly likely to have been made by leftists. There's no way around it.

Don't blame Disney, either. George Lucas contributed hugely to Obama's election campaigns. There's no escaping it.

You love liberal values, just as long as they're disguised. You're like a gay man trying to pretend trannies count as women.

What really disappoints me about this is that back when GW announced that one of their first new specialist games would be a dogfighting/Aeronautiva-type game, I was hoping it would actually be its own separate system like Battlefleet Gothic; not another boxed game (something I'm starting to get tired of).

Especially since they're just using the models they already have which, I will say, is understandable to a point; but I can't stand most of the GW flyer models. Only about half of them look attractive to me (Dark Eldar, Eldar, and the Valkyrie). I was really looking forward to using some Imperial Navy fighters like the Thunderbolts or Avenger, and have it be more on-par with X-Wing in scale. Some anons bring up a good point in that GW may not want to risk competing with X-Wing, but it's more just I prefer that size when it comes to dog-fighting games. The size of the flyers in 40k makes it too clunky to work properly, I think.

This isn't a specialist game, FW are doing specialist games.

The problem with TFA wasn't the wimminz or the black guy (who is a pretty Damn good actor for being an unknown, same as Isaac).

It was that they literally took A New Hope and put a new coat of paint over it. The prequels were *generally* garbage, but they still had the spirit. TFA just kept the formula of the OT but not the spirit.

>>
>>48019184
The Y-Wing is horribly out of scale though.
No way a person could fit into that tiny cockpit. Just compare it to the X-Wing or A-Wing.
>>
>>48018944
Not going to argue about the scale issues, but I'm pretty sure most of the point is allowing players to get models at a lower price still from GW and making it have 2 factions to get them to get other players to split the box. Same as Betrayal at Calth and the Renegade Knights game.

So the story goes, VII was supposed to end after Finn (called "Sam" here) helped Poe defend that town from the beginning against an Imperial attack. Pic related. There's another page from this book that states that explicitly defending the town is the climax of Finn's transition to the hero

The interrogation scene didn't bother me that much, because it established a dynamic between the two characters.

My problem are:
-The scene where she's a super pilot from the get-go. Even Luke had experience flying and was applying for the Imperial academy, so it was established well in the movies that he was a skilled pilot. I don't remember anything in the movie informing us that Rey had much experience as a pilot.
-She just happened to fix the Millennium Falcon like it was nothing. Would have been better if it had been by accident and it'd actually come bite them in the ass later. Like the piece was some regulator and it'd cause the ship's systems to short circuit at a crucial moment.
-The end fight. There was no tension between the two. If it had been even with both sides battering each other, and the ground split and separated the two before it was over, it would have left both with a reason to fight each other later. There's really no reason for her to start lifting, she already bested Ren with little to no training. If it had been an even match, both would realize they needed to git gud to fight the other and put some tension on who'd come out on top.

But you can't give female characters any real obstacles to get over or else someone will cry on the internet about it. People bitch about Leia being a slave and how it objectifies women, forgetting that she's the one who fucking murdered Jabba. Not Luke, not Han, it was her and a length of chain that put and end to him.

At this point it's hard to work up enough interest to even hate the idea. 40k diehards and completionists will buy it because they already own the flyers anyway. This won't get gw back into number one, and probably isn't intended to. Just moves some product for kids on summer break.
