Blackjack.
>>
>>48015430
If true, was expecting more shoulder/back mounted weapons not more underhand HMGs.
>>
>>48015430
If that's true, more techy than I was hoping but still decent.
>>
>>48015430
I'm pretty sure that's a haq HI that they had a silhouette preview for recently.
>>
>>48015615
Looking closer it does seem like the Ahl Fasad promo. Also noting the style of the HMG isn't like the others in USAriadna.

Though it does feel pretty America. Guess not enough contrasting greens and glowy spots on the forearms.
>>
Even barring the paintjob, the heavy pistol is absolutely the American design.
>>
>>48015808
And Aleph there only seems to be one design for it. The HMG is Haqqislam, the writing is also not American.
>>
>48009437
>I've seen pics of a fully completed Blackjack model.

>It has Heavy pistol in its right hand, Belt fed heavy machine gun in its left.

>Chunkier, rounder, Azrail, with a helmet that looks like a Moblot recessed in a deep neck guard.

>Right foot up on a broken piece of what looks like a Father Knight.

Welp, sure looks like the Al Fasid tho
>>
>>48015430
If that's the Blackjack it's literally garbage.

Looks way to much like the shitty Azra'il, same exact feet and machine gun. Looks way to high tech too.

What a let down.
>>
>>48015942
Maybe they had just assumed it was a BJ.
Similar color, heavy pistol and a yet the only S5 model we've seen nothing of. No other word of a new S5 unit yet.
>>
>>48015430
Is that Arabic on the wrist and leg? Or just the unit icon or something?
>>
>>48015987
>Looks way to much like the shitty Azra'il
Well the statline is basically one, so I guess they did it well.
>>
>>48015430
Pretty sure that's this >>48008619.
>>
>>48016005
The star and bar in the middle doesn't help.
>>
>>48016023
It obviously is.
That spoiler-anon was clearly retarded.
>>
>>48016036
Or on closer look, there's a dip at the bottom.

This is an Ahl Fasad.

On the plus side, I don't like the model. On the downside, where my blackjack at? :'(
>>
>>48016581
As much as I want blackjacks...not before marauders and mavericks
>>

Yea those have been delayed a while haven't they.
>>

Def looks like the haqq HI.
>>

>>

Looks like. Was probably asked to not show that model or something.
>>
>>48016817
>>48016853
Hint at the Nexus? I assume simply because I really want them.
>>
>>48016817
Its the Ninja with tac bow.
>>
It's a cool model. Not the blackjack obviously.

Funny how the Al Fassads used to be 'knock off Janissaries'. Now they seem to be 'Knock off Az'raels', though rumor has it they're Mech deploy instead of fuckhuge guns. Which would be unique for the fatsuits.
>>
>>48016999

Gee, can't wait to mech deploy my HMG to make it easier to get inside it's 8-16 rangeband...

I'm holding judgement till better pics (the silhouette is broken by the models on back and this might not be the best possible angle)
>>
>>48018864

Ditto. The angle just makes him look skinny with big hips. He is probably quite a bit deeper than he looks.

I am kind of tired of the "underslung" everything though. I really liked the Geckos holding big rifles and want to see more like them.

>>
>>48019963
All factions? I think traktor muls are in a good place. Meteor zonds definitely.
>>
>>48019963
I'm sure they were a modelling nightmare, but it really surprised me when the REM they chose to resculpt was the CA drones. i.e. the ones that actually looked cool
>>
>>48018966
>I am kind of tired of the "underslung" everything though
I feel you. Having a big guy waving his pistol around when he's got a fucking machinegun is also a little stupid looking.

I know they probably wanted to (visually) differentiate it and the feuerbach azrail, but it just does not work.
>>
>>48019963
They look fine. but I wouldn't mind new basic REMs.

>>48021447
IMO the rebots and probots are some of the worst. Those fucking legs are annoying to keep together. Also the Probots are just plain stupid looking.
>>
>>48021722
What about net rods? They could do with some solid construction at the base
>>
>>48021447
Well, I was talking more about the generic S3 remotes. Most of them are old as fuck. Baggage bots and combat remotes are nice enough.

>>48021628
The old ones didn't mix with the new Onyx aesthetic that's being pushed on CA.
>>
>>48021628
The CA's design language changed dramatically, so old Drones look out of place with the new aesthetic.

>>48021722
Netrods really dont need any change. It just dont seem worth the time.

Sophotects, however, could use a new model. They look fine and only need to be scaled up to fit the rest of the newer LI.

>>
>>48021953
Wouldn't mind new Haqq REMs. Kameels are fine, but the older ones are rather cartoony.

Though I'd want them to stay bipedal. Not a lot of those out there.
>>
>>48021953
ah k. I would say just give everything pre N3 an overhaul, but that would be expensive as fuck.
>>48021960
Fair enough. maybe a different face? just a tune up is all I think they need.

>>48021990
Tired of the chicken feet?
>>
>>48022008
More of the flashlight look they have. Especially considering the Shihab. Expect some kind of wacky eye array or La Forge visor to really sell the 360 visor.

>>48022008
The feet are alright, what I personally can't stand are the legs. Digitigrade legs on mechs and robots are cool, but the Haqq remote legs are just backwards and it looks fucking stupid. Just imagine these things running around, they'd look ridiculous.

>>48022029
I can't help but wonder why there aren't more top-mounted HMGs on TR bots. A Sierra or Husong would have to turn their fat robot asses around completely in order to hit someone who's flanking them, and I honestly can't see that happening quickly.

Corvus Belli should so make a skirmish level fantasy game. I'd buy that shit in a heartbeat. Like Mordenheim if it had actual support.
>>
>>48022451
warcrow

I'm not sure why you'd need a new fantasy skirmish game, though. There's a ton on the market (and off the market), many of them quite good.
>>
>>48022524
Warcrow is a line of miniatures. It is not supported by a setting or rule system (although the names and appearances of some characters seem to suggest a slightly Asian inspired world).
>>
Sorry, I'm new to infinity and I keep reading about "possibile new starter" (at least on this board). If I were to get the current one, the rules inside would be the same right? I mean: I know that recently they released some new rules (N3?) but they already repackaged the old rules in the starter with those right? I'm confused
>>
>>48022690
Rules are free on their site, so regardless which ye buy you'll have stuff up to date.

Also basic starters are just minis, have to hop online to begin with.
>>
>>48022690
New starter is not a new edition and the two-player one only has quick start rules anyway. They're simply making a new two-player one, with haqq and yj instead of PanO and nomads.

>>48022765

Okay, I went on their website and saw they sell both this: http://store.infinitythegame.com/articulo.php?f=1&s=1&o=3&id=2511

and this: http://store.infinitythegame.com/articulo.php?f=1&s=1&o=3&id=2359

My point is: if the downloadable pdf has the cover from the latter (that I assume is the old edition) then it means the free rules are not updated yet? (it does say N3 underneath though..)
>>
>>48023277
The rules are free and downloadable from the main site. N3 contains the core rules of the game and Human Sphere N3 is an expansion to the N3 core rules (which is also downloadable on the same page).
>>
>>48023277
All the rules aren't updated at the same time. N3 is the newest edition, but there's also add-ons that provide extra rules. Human Sphere didn't actually change anything that was in the base N3 book, it just added extra shit.

The downloadable HSN3 rules are in the download section of the website, along with a bunch of other useful shit.
>>
>>48023277
Free rules ARE updated but you need both the basic N3 and the Human Sphere N3 PDFs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enUqWuU-Nns

Duncan on warhammer tv youtube channels painting guide is not only pretty awesome, it is also free. It is a great way to get started because of the way he teaches the basics in nearly every video.

It shows how with a few simple steps you can get a decent table top standard for your army. (prime, base coat, wash, highlight) Infinity minis are tougher to paint than most GW stuff, but if you need to start somewhere the techniques transfer over pretty easily.

Taureg would make a lot of sense, since Icestorm also had a thermoptic unit facing off against a drop troop (Tiger Soldier)
>>

I was just describing to my friend that my "ideal Haqqislam starter" would feature the Ahl Fassed, Zhayedan (need sculpts), Taureg, Khawarij (need resculpts) and ghulams with the same uniforms as the SWC box.

Zanshi, Zuyong, Hsien

That's the currently accepted belief anyway, the Zuyong looks a bit off to me compared to the existing models.

You know I always wondered how the nomad ships could travel in the circulars, and this image still has me wondering

I get that thing is huge, but that is about the size I imagined the nomad ships to be, nearly planet-sized
>>
>>48036032
Do the actual home ships need to travel on the circulars? Wouldn't they have the shielding, etc. to the wormholes themselves?
>>
>>48036205
>Wouldn't they have the shielding, etc. to the wormholes themselves?
I think the main three mother-ships take nearly all of the slots inside the circular
>>
>>48036205

Circulars are a bit weird. Yes, they want to do the dune highliner kinda thing, with big tradeships carrying everyone's traffic (and the social opportunities of running into potentially ANYONE while travelling)

The Nomad Motherships use the Circulars, and that's been spelled out. Do military vessels need the circulars to go FTL? Is it just a matter of wormhole drives being hard to come by?
>>
>>48036483
and when I say that is that one of the mother ships would take up the majority of the slots. The Nomads pay a high fee to the 012 how ever to do so.
>>
>>48034313
It might be a redesigned Shang Ji.

>>48036032
>nearly planet-sized
I'm not sure you comprehend how ludicrously huge planets are.

Pedantry aside, the Circulars might be able to be reconfigured for particularly big jobs. A special massive cargo compartment or something.
>>
>>48035585
Oh...I guess that's cool.

>>48036032
>planet-sized
Probably more like large city-sized plus other modules.
>>
>>48037259
I doubt the Shang Ji would ditch the radiator spines...the Crane didn't, and that's basically a modified version of that armor.

Besides, it's pretty much matches up with the Zuyong dossier. It's just the central front pieces is projecting out more than in other representations. The head design, shoulder designs, and the kevlar vest is pretty distinctive.

The Hsien's head design seems to be a callback to the original design with bird beak. Looks weird with the white surcoat instead of the usual ISS green.
>>
>>48037618
Yeah, that's a good point. The art probably isn't reflective of the actual models, so I wouldn't worry too much. Just look at the size of his rifle, not even HMGs are that big nowadays.

The Hsien just looks a bit weird generally. Not sure why they went for a design like the original, the original sucked ass. I'll wait until we get a look at the actual model or a dossier before I judge, though.
>>
>>48037475
Yeah, a single planet sized space ship could easily contain more population than the rest of the Human Sphere combined.

I guess most of the Nomad nation live off their mother ship most of the time, as pretty much all of the star systems in Human Sphere seem to have millions, even hundreds of millions of people living on space stations. Corregidors most prized export are their worker force.
>>
>>48038282
Yeah, the nomad ships are almost certainly self sustaining like a smaller Macross Colony Ship. Probably even has some wildlife like fish (for their dolphin pilots).
>>
>>48038678
I guess we have better info when the RPG drops. Thus far we've got fairly accurate information about population centers in the preview chapters.

So, what's the fluff reason for China/YJ going back to absolute monarchy?
>>
>>48043826

Stability. A figurehead, and arguably, a separation of powers that remains nondemocratic.

And it's not really absolute. The Party is balanced against the Emperor, implicitly and legally.
>>
>>48043826
It's not an absolute monarchy. The Party is still very much in power, but they gave up their control of internal law enforcement as a sign of good will to the incorporated Asian countries. They reinstated the old monarchies as the new authority over judiciary matters and law enforcement. It just kind of turned out they're a bunch of dicks, and the sign of good will got kind of lost. Even though the Party has authority over the Imperial Court, in practice it's very hard to tell them what to do, since they make the laws and all internal matters end up in their jurisdiction.
>>
>>48043826
It's not absolute at all. It was originally intended to be a figurehead position before one of the emperors surprised everybody by actually doing something.

As for the reason the royals were reinstated, it's pretty simple: the Spaniards thought it would be cool. Apparently there's some bullshit fluff excuse about it uniting the Chinese people or something, but it's pretty stupid.
>>
>>48044054
>a sign of good will to the incorporated Asian countries
That always struck me as incredibly dumb. Why would other Asian nations want to be ruled by a Chinese emperor? It's not like they were all part of China when the original emperors were around. If anything those guys would be even more hated than the Party.
>>
>>48044126
Honestly, I feel the Imperial Court was a missed opportunity. I still like them and think they're fun to play, but both thematically and design wise it would have been a lot cooler if they were based around the historical lineages of minor Asian nations instead.

Imagine if the Imperial Court was based around South East Asian royalty or something like that, and pulled recruits and aesthetics from the little guys of Yu Jing (Thailand, Korea, Vietnam). It would make a lot more sense for the rest of Asia to be appeased by a move like that, and it would allow a better spread of Asian theme throughout Yu Jing (JSA for Japan, State Army for China, ISS for everyone else).

I guess Spain just really liked the whole Manchu thing.

That might just be crazy enough to work anon
>>
>>48045543

I love the basic idea, but what you'll find is that the number of TO's don't matter as much as the ability to supply them with orders. 2 TOs with 8 orders is better than 7 TOs with 3 orders. Because you're not going to be activating them all at once. Sure, it's very convenient to effectively have a TO in any given area, but you'll reach practical saturation pretty quickly and after that, you're hitting diminishing returns.
>>
>>48045936
Don't forget that TOs don't have to be put in HD either.

>>
>>48045543

>>
>>48046193
A combination of them not having TO (I fully recognize that 7 TO models in a list is almost certainly overkill, but I still want to do it), waiting to see what the models look like, and not knowing they were also ninjas.
>>
>>48046124
With 26 point Ninjas available as closed information order suppliers... Maybe, maybe not. Just because they HAVE Hidden Deployment doesn't mean they HAVE to be placed into it. It could also serve as a major 'wtf' for your opponent to see multiple TO tokens in normal positions; especially with very few models on the board.
>>
Seriously fantastic models.
>>
>>48039917

Combined, crazy ass rules and EI aspects. Gotta love having special snowflake rules and super elite units.
>>
>>48045483
>No need to split this one, I'm starting both!

I already play both as my secondary factions, this box set is fucking awesome. Interesting that they made the ninja/Al-Fahsed the OP:RV-only models though.
>>
>>48046337

You put a few down on the board, it's going to be very clear that they're not Hac Tao.
>Just because they have
No, that's very true, but Ninja and Oniwaban are extremely reliant on it. Or to put it another way, they're ass if the enemy knows they're coming, like most TO infiltrator types. They're squishy, and fairly unremarkable unless they're in their niche. The Sniper's decent if you can get them somewhere good, but the rest are template bait if they don't have the element of surprise.

And it's not going to be that much of a WTF moment. There's very few possibilities for a YJ list involving a lot of TO tokens. And if you're silly enough to reveal them it's probably because there's more. Maybe an AD figure. Either way, you're lacking real firepower and door kicking power, and an opponent with a half decent forward game is going to cause disproportionate casualties. Ninjas are great. But they can't serve as the backbone of the list unless you really fluke it. An enemy running an Avatar list, or something, and you get lucky with Mono.
>>
CB, if you have to label your minis to tell the units apart, you seriously fucked up your visual design.

I mean seriously, I love the new Zhanshi and everything else is on the awesome new standard but the new YJ color scheme is the second blandest thing after black-and-red-and-evil CA.

Well NCA would be pretty far from Haqq. Super elite shooter units, the highest of high techs available.

Alternatively, Morats. No fancy tricks whatsoever, just angry monkeys. Use your lt order with impunity - nothing you have gives the vaguest of shits if your LT dies. If you're willing to go vanilla, CA would also be a fun choice.

Okay, so we can pretty much all agree that Morpho-Scan is completely fucking useless, right? Or maybe I'm just a retard, because I've been trying every single configuration to make Cadmus work, and at best they just end up requiring a lot of gambling and ludicrous set-up to get mediocre results. An entire order for what will most likely be a 10% better chance on BS/PH rolls? Like, maybe if they had a lot of ARM or defensive tech and were 4-2 as a result or something.

>Do military vessels need the circulars to go FTL? Is it just a matter of wormhole drives being hard to come by?

I think it's been spelled out that Circulars are needed to traverse wormholes SAFELY. I would imagine that ships can try to traverse them alone risk the same fate as roughly half the ships from the Combined Army's expeditionary force to Paradiso.

As for military ships. I'm sure there are a few ships which are wormhole capable, probably larger carrier vessels which can carry a few smaller escort-class ships or shuttles with them. Now, as to which factions have them, it seems that the Nomads don't for whatever reason. I'm sure at least Pan O does, and possibly Yu Jing.
