If it's that easy to fuck up a cow's head with an axe why exactly are big races like ogres or trolls such a problem?
Because Ogres have BIGGER axes, and a troll will just regenerate it's partially severed head and laugh.
Orca usually have arms and defend themselves when you swing a axe at them

1. Ogres and trolls are alive, intelligent and agressive. If you try to get such a telegraphed swing in, they'll stab you in the taint three times before you can even land it.
2. Ogres and trolls move around a lot, you'll have a harder time landing a solid hit than against an immobile cow's head.
3. Ogres and trolls have their own weapons. You don't need to focus on just attacking, but defending yourself as well. This kind of ties in with point 1.
4. Orcs and trolls have thicker skins than cow corpses as well as armor.

Also, could you even reach on ogres head with an axe? How close would you need to be? You need to cross a lot if dangerous ground to get that close. Maybe, 10+ feet of ground where a big ogre could paste you with one swing.
