mfw I want to DM an ASOIAF game with a group of players where each will play someone in the house but I doubt I will be able to find players with the lore knowledge I want them to have.
>>
It's 20-fucking-16. The Internet allows high-speed instant communication through your choice of text, voice, video, or any combination thereof. There are other people out there that want to play games, on sites dedicated to people who play or want to play games, with schedules that match up to yours. The only reason you don't have people to play with is stubbornness, laziness, or impatience.
>>
>>47975024

Or maybe he wants to run face-to-face instead of through a computer? Most people prefer it.

>stubbornness
If you want to play, you play, instead of shitposting on /tg/ about how you can't play.

Isn't that just Tails?
>>

No, a literal helicopter.

Must be nice, having no game, talking about how good your no game is, thinking about what to do for your next no game session.

Meanwhile I'll sit here with my two great online groups, playing every week consistently, thinking about what to do for my two sessions next week and the week after and so on, sharing stories with others about how good my two online sessions go each week.

Forgive us if we don't think we'd like to join your "great" animu loli pervert game, mr. smug anime girl poster. You can't fool us with your smugness.
>>
>>47976363
Nah, I'm fine with my group of friends who I play with every week in person instead of strangers on the Internet.
>>
>>47976651
Strangers that you interact with often don't stay strangers for long.

Do you hate having more friends?
>>
Been looking for a ST to run Werewolf the Apocalypse. Central Time zone if relevant.
>>
>>47976681
Honestly, I do. I'm kind of an introvert and like keeping my friend group small. They are all the same way and the five of us are very comfortable together. I definitely see the appeal of online games, it just isn't for me.

But back to shit posting.

I don't want some Internet perverts to know anything about me. So you must also be an Internet pervert who uses Roll20 as a kiddy porn meet up.

I'm not even trying anymore.

I just thought this was the appropriate thread to thank /tg/ for bringing together the best group of online D&D I've had. We mesh so well, that even though my voice is to hoarse to DM today, they're running a side-game instead of collapsing forever.

I know you wouldn't EXPECT that roll20 connected me to dysfunctional spergy groups that fell apart and never really worked to begin with, and that /tg/ brought me a fully functioning weekly game, but... here we are

Thanks /tg/

>I do
Fucking pleb. Kill yourself.
>>
I feel you, OP. I'm in uni now, living with one guy from my old group, in a fraternity with another guy from that group. We ran a game for a little while with some other brothers who hadn't played before and weren't part of that old group, but don't really have time anymore. Wouldn't want to play with a different flavor of sperg than I'm used to, anyway tho
>>
>>47976681
This. I love my in-person group, but my online group has been together with no change in the guard for the last six years and were responsible for some of the best games I've ever been in. Sooner or later, we'll have to invite someone else in, but only if we know they won't disrupt our mojo.
>>

>i prefer this
>so you can't enjoy that
>>
>>47974934
I know your pain anon, all my old mates who played have moved around the worlD. Makes it a little difficult to get together and game.

>Internet pervert who uses Roll20 as a kiddy porn meet up
Damn. I might have to start using Roll20 again.
>>
I've been wanting to start a fallout style game through roll 20. I advertised it on No Mutants Allowed, however despite "muh traditional fallout" no one has said word on my thread. Not that I'm particularly torn up about it given that I realised I really wasn't ready. But if I were I would be more upset

>>47975015
ASOIAF games are doomed to fail even before they start.

You'd need at least
>50+ NPCs with their own agendas, backstories, goals
>dedicated players (have fun with that one)
>a DM prepared to shift a lot of story around and trying to react to players actions and the cascading effects they might trigger
>masterful time management

It's a dream of mine, too. But one I've given up on.

I'd say it can be done. Check out the Rollplay Saga of the Icelanders playthrough on Youtube sometime.
Pic related was the NPC relationship map after week 2, I think it was. It got more complicated as time went on.
>>
>>47983222
You will need the basics at first. Spouses, children, people who work at the keep etc. But shouldn't be too difficult I think. For other nobles you just need a few lords for the neighbouring lands and of course your liege lord. I want to play a small scale game with a small house that has no vassals in a remote region like vale or north.
