I thought Accelerator was a trap.

Next edition should be "Tables have turned Jumpper"

Indeed.

>>47940086
Really?
Makes Imagine Breaker underwhelming kinda
>>
>>47940136
Well, you can around it if you pick up Toggle from YJ.
Or don't take any luck perks that work out of combat and don't mind being constantly fucked by bad luck (but relax, it won't kill you and it only happens out-of-combat as well).

So you're basically fine if you're a blood knight who spends all his time in combat.
>>
>>47940136
Personally I am more interested in a lesser mentioned aspect of IB, the right hand it'self is wholly immune to all things supernatural even if it can't negate them. My build has extreme durability and enough regen to recover from being just a hand.

Accelerator is just rather androgynous due to retarded reasons relating to not getting enough sunlight.
>>

Sometimes the hand isn't immune though, sometimes the arm explodes(and then heals itself afterwards) if the supernatural stuff is powerful enough to force it.
>>

Most of the contents of a candy store stored inside the Borderlands digi-container.

The Black Death from LoT, though I'm not sure if that counts as actually in my pockets. It just kinda shows up whenever I twitch my hand the right way.

My Memory Gauntlet Device, which now folds down into something resembling an Iron Man glove thanks to a fresh treatment of specialty miniaturization spells.

Oh, and my keys. From home and car back on normal Earth. Yes, I haven't used them in 250 years, but I still carry them.

TI and EN only work on magic, so Espers could still fuck your shit up. Antimagic Field can't work on Clarktech. Imagine Breaker enforces reality, so it can fuck up everything. It also actively fucks things up, so you can pop things like golems and corporeal undead.

This leads into a question I wanted to ask.

How useful are the Rings of Power? Being unfamiliar with Tolkien, I tried looking at a wiki, but the only ones with defined powers where the Three and the One. It mentioned that the dwarves accumulated a lot of gold with the rings, and that the Nine had extended lifetime, but what else do they do?
>>
>>47940351
They are powerful by lotr standards so not really worth mentioning for a jumper.
>>
>>47940338
Abeloth? The force Shoggoth who rolled EU Luke Skywalker like a bitch? That is not a reasonable goal.

>Or pocket dimensions.
All of the magic gear that I refuse to wear because it would block the view of my perfect form, and make me look like a demented WoW character/Mr. T impersonator, but are far too useful to ignore.
>>
>>47940336
Antimagic Field works on anything supernatural, despite the name. Same as IB.

And popping golems and corporeal undead is hardly worth eternal bad luck. Most jumpers can do that with their pinky finger.

I'll give you that IB has some advantages. But it's not worth putting up with the drawbacks. I like my luck perks, thank you very much.
If you really want it i'd definitely pick up Toggle first.
>>
>>47940351
There's not a lot defined about what they actually do, atleast not that I remember. One point is that they make the wearer invisible, with the Elven Three as the exception (their rings are invisible, instead of the wearer).

The Seven and Nine are, unlike the Three, apparently created as weapons of war/domination. And well, they're the Rings of /Power/, so you're gonna have some power to do Tolkien magic (which is mostly lots of subtle stuff). Might be able to use it as a boost with other stuff as well, maybe.

Though you're gonna want to make sure you don't become a wraith if you try out the Seven or Nine.

Generally though, it seems less impressive than you'd expect.
>>
>>47940424
Naturally toggle is a must have for that power, personally I also wank that the bad luck goes away completely post jump since it is a drawback but there are sill a wide variety of other reasons why you need toggle to make it a not horrible idea.
>>
>>47940452
The power explicitly says that the bad luck doesn't go away. That's my whole problem with it.
I could deal with 10 years of bad luck for awesome power. I've dealt with worse drawbacks. But forever?
>>
>>47940466
Yes that is why I ignore that part, it is stupid. If it was a feature of the power it shouldn't have been a drawback.
>>
>>47940477
The whole reason why IB makes you unlucky is because it cuts you off from the grace of god which is important for luck in the index universe. It shouldn't do anything to your luck in other settings and since it doesn't affect your powers it shouldn't do anything to your luck perks either.
>>
>>47940466
Did you know that despite the perk mentioning the danger of acting like Touma without his plot armor IB actually includes that? That is how the bad luck works, it won't let you die and escape your misfortune meaning that Touma's plot armor is a canon feature of IB.
>>
>>47940351
I know the One Ring has sauron's evil/will to dominate/etc...

Invisibility was the least it could do, i imagine it did what was convinient for its wearer at the time as well as enhacing the wearer's traits, as a hobbit's sneaky into invisible.

It might make you charismatic, better at figthing, long lived, healty, influence the course of battles...

It doesn't so much DO, as makes you something that could be a problem even for kings,
>>
you knowhat would be hilarious and current affairs-y?

>>
>>47940424
Like I said, Antimagic Field works on supernatural shit, but it won't work on Clarktech (sufficiently advanced technology that seems magic). Imagine Breaker "enforces reality," which means it can.

Also, depends a lot on the golem, doesn't it? To put it another way, none of the effects you're talking about can shut down an apocalyptic spell, just protect you. IB can.

Definitely pick up a Toggle mechanism, though.

Afaik a saint is someone who has the same body as jesus, who was apparently stronk as all get out. If that is genetics based on descent or some lucky genetic accident, I don't know. As far as it goes 2 saints were of christian faith while one was posing as a valkyrie so probably not faith related? In so far as needing to be christian. Don't quote me here, I haven't touched that series in years and what it produces doesn't make me inclined to either.

nope if you want to exceed lightspeed you need Some way to incorporate the Inertialis drive from light of Terra into your person, I'd say importing it as a car in supernatural and that importing that as your ghost form in undertail would work.
>>47941885
that's a bad idea, the cosmic speed limit of light works by lowering the rate at which time in proportion to How close you are to the speed of light, you'll probably be trapped forever.
>>
>>47941852
Mushoku Tensei allows you "mountain-crushing" strength with training.

To rain on anon's parade about Raildex, Reploid made a ruling that the two jumps are mutually exclusive and that if you take one, the other can only be taken as your second to last jump.

He also made a ruling that you can never actually go beyond level 5, the jump is lying to you about your potential with Malleable Reality.

Isn't level 5 still ungodly powerful though?
>>
>>47941932
>the jump is lying to you
It's more like that ruling about MR is meaningless because it is explicitly contradicted in the jump.

Clarifications are alright, but if you want to change how a perk works, you should at least update it.
>>
>>47941956
>>47941968
>>47941979

The point is that you are actually completely unable to progress from level 5 by jumpmaker ruling. So there.

Giant from SMT can use trains as whips, which has been ruled to be around 70 tons, now find a way to use your full strength regardless of form such as the one in Bartimaeus Sequence, and Go to Pacific rim where You pick up experimental human/kaiju hybrid which gives you strength that increases portion into your size, i.e. several dozen times your human strength which has been increased to the giant strength. next Head over to Kamen Rider Neo-Heisei Part 1 and pick up the CLAWS Personal Type
:shovel arm. Which increases that fivefold
>>
Well, here's the thing. after Level 5 it becomes less a categorization of your power, and more about becoming an angel or avatar of your power or elemental representation of it. See the freaky art that's out there somewhere of a theoretical level 6 Misaka.

Those rulings also don't really take into account perks that say "you never stop growing in a ability as you keep training, your returns just get smaller" and stuff like the way Personal Reality and say, Strong Spark from Girl Genius would interact.

So, for what this anon's opinion is worth, don't treat it as "you can't get more powerful" and instead as "you won't become what the setting defines as level 6"
>>
>>47941985
If a ruling directly contradicts the way a perk is stated to work, then it needs to be updated.

You can't expect people to know about every single ruling from over 900 threads.
>>
>>47941866
It was why I mentioned being an angel, because they would exist sorta like light as it is, so it should be easier to at least reach light speed.
To exceed it however, perhaps "The Laws Are Mine" from Van Hellsing could help you out because it allows you to break one fundemental scientific law.

>>
>>47941932
You talk as if Level 5 is a single universal level of power. Even discounting versatility which MR gives you in spades, it's fairly simple for it to be the difference between a low end Level 5 and a high end one. See Misaka "Electricity and anything to do with it is my bitch" Mikoto versus Meltdowner, who just shoots lasers.
>>
>>47942000

Right so. Evangelion has Waveform Anatomy, which combines spiritual, mental, and physical presence into one anatomy.

What does this synchronized spiritual/mental/physical form combo with?
>>
>>47942019
You're misunderstanding the science. Wave-particle duality isn't why light can move that fast. Light moves that fast because it has zero rest mass. But you can induce wave-particle duality in massive particles. And since your Angel form presumably has mass...yeah, it's not going to move at light speed. It's going to be stuck forever below it.

Haki's a good start. Willpower based boost to all physical capabilities. Anything similar to it that boosts your physical stats based off of magical power or such is also great. Wouldn't be recursive enough to form an infinite feedback loop, but gives a nice buff and gets stronger as you layer more buffs on.
>>
>>47942068
Any perks that increase the strength of your soul, like perks in Undertale or "Power of Domination" in Castlevania. Also your physical strength ties into your mental strength and spiritual strength and vice-versa but not recursively. Whoch means despiar can affect you pretty hard, a sound souls dwells in a sound body and a sound mind.

So long as you take pages from the poem Invictus your a pretty tough person.
>>
>>47942079
Oh shit, my apologies than. In that case if the goal is that you need to have a mass of zero, perhaps a ghost form would help you out? Maybe Giest from worm since you'll learn to affect people even when your completely incorporeal.
>>
>>47942068
If your'e a caster, there's a perk in Overlord called Unified Focus that brings your physical capabilities up to par with your magical ones and vice versa, so you can kinda tie magic into that linked anatomy.

Fixing things I wanted to fix but couldn't before, putting a clone for others in a world where I haven't to live out a natural lifespan, and using the tweedledee perk to split into 2 planeswalkers. One goes back to do the above before settling in one place for awhile as the other cleans house on Earth. >Nine To Five - Where Everybody Knows Your Name: 100 (Discount for Food Service) Customers and clients generally like you, they come by requesting you by name just to chat you up. Be careful, you'll be in the position to give them discounts or special treatment but you must balance their happiness with your superior's scrutiny or suffer ill from both sides. In future jumps, B and C list characters of the continuity will be relatively familiar with you and start out on more or less, friendly terms.

>Negima - Harem Protagonist: Wherever you are and wherever you go, you seem to develop a harem. Not necessarily sexual, you just always end up with a group of surprisingly talented people who would do almost anything for you. They fall into your life, on purpose or by accident, within a few months in any new place. It’s probably just your natural charisma, or maybe all that good karma catching up to you. While you don’t NECESSARILY interfere with canon or destined romances, you can probably use this as a tool to do so if you wish, so long as you put in a little effort. You can’t necessarily choose who is attracted to you, so you may well end up with an enemy who loves you but must fight you anyway.

>Princess Bride - Dread Pirate Roberts: You’ve the uncanny ability to approach just about anyone, even a fearsome violent soul, and convince them to be your mentor. You’ll rapidly master any skills they can teach you, until they’ll retire and you flawlessly take on their identity.

now, those second two don't DIRECTLY make you a familiar face with the protagonists, but Harem Protagonist's alternate application is to draw people to you and create bonds with them. and Dread Pirate Roberts is great for applying for a canon character to mentor you. Everybody knows your name, means that maybe Vegeta hasn't the fuckin foggiest who you are but you can get an introduction by way of Krillin.

Apparently Level 6 is called SYSTEM.

You are simply trandescending limits of Humanity and can understand god's calculations.

A late Jumper is already a level 6 without picking up Esper powers, as in, by the classification your jumper powers are level 6.

So imagine level 5 of Accelerator when he was still Level 5 + jumper powers

Have fun with that.

Doesn't change that your complaining on "arbitary limits" and how anything not combat-centric is super weak is making you sound like that.
>>

Here's the exact text I wrote for the restriction.
>Regardless of whether or not you acquire Force sensitivity multiple times you will be able to improve your abilities through study and training to become the equal of Force users like Revan, Yoda, Dooku, Kyle Katarn, Mace Windu or Darth Traya. However for the duration of your JumpChain you will be unable to surpass the feats depicted in the films, KotOR games, Dark Forces games or The Clone Wars/Rebels series. Additionally you won't be able to replicate any of the unique abilities demonstrated by Darth Nihilus, Darth Sion, The Jedi Exile, Mother Talzin or The Ones until you obtain your spark.
>Purchased Force powers can potentially allow you to surpass these restrictions but they're still bound by the limits set in their descriptions.
So it's not just Kreia as your cap, I only said that in response to the Aboleth question because Kreia's displayed a lot of non-combat related Feats and I thought it would give that anon a better idea of how strong he could become.

Palpatine I'm still debating about since people always argue weather or not Mace and Yoda could actually beat him.

Yes, she is weaker than Revan, Starkiller, and Palpatine, I'll give you that. But she is not weaker than Malak, and is in fact about equal to him but with a different specialization. If you think that's still to low, well, that's fair, and we'll have to wait for KOTOR to respond.
>>
What does it even fucking matter, we all know anyone with a brain is going to conduct all sorts of magi-science to make themselves better at the force then their base potential implies, modifying themselves to the point where it doesn't even fucking matter anymore what the jump itself offers.
>>
>>47943220
I so am...
>>
>>47943244
Because it is arbitrary.

>>47943247
You made it sound like she specifically was the hard limit.

Why so specific on the games? It honestly just looks like you're afraid of accounting for the Force Unleashed games.

>>47943249
I was talking about the Exile.
>>
>>47943259
And trying to build a jump based on the assumption that everyone's at 590+ jumps and wank that they bust universes is wrong.
>>
A friend of mine named Jaraxalyn wrote three Jumps called "Generic Fantasy RPG 1-3" and asked me to look over them and see if I found any problems with them. I am now submitting them to you (they're in the folder, I uploaded them for him). He's got a baby and a sick wife to look after, so he's not really able to monitor for suggestions, so I offered to do it for him and to pass them on from you to him. I didn't write any of these jumps, please don't yell at me for anything in them.
>>
>>47943247
Why are the unique abilities outright banned till postspark? What about them is so broken that they unbalance the chain itself? Why are we not allowed to surpass the feats from the films and games with enough training? What is the point of all these fiat caps?
>>
>>47943285
Do you just read any attempt by anons to acquire power beyond what's given to them outright and stringently regulated by the jumps themselves as mindless powerwanking?
>>
>>47943297
And they're not posted here... why?
>>
>>47943297
You should post them here, too. Some people get mighty offended if you post them in the folder and tell them about it instead of showing us here, first. They think it's presumptuous, or something like that.
>>
>>47943298
>Nihilus
He eats planets.
>Sion
He's entirely immortal.
>Exile
She has passive mindrape and is a hardcounter to Nihilus, but otherwise she's meh.
>Talzin
Don't know who this is.
>The Ones
Basically Force Gods.
>>
>>47943313
Yes. Jumpchain isn't about power after all, and if you become to strong, its boring and no fun.
>>
>>47943297
If they're not posted here they'll be banned.
>>
>>47943313
The amount of anal annihilation people show at the word 'limit' like a triggered tumblrite doesn't prove otherwise.

Because I'm an idiot and forgot I could post pdfs right to 4chan. god's honest truth.
>>
>>47943321
Well, you could always limit the scale of such abilities (i.e. can't eat planets, but platoons or squads) until post-spark.

Posting them now. Forgot the process. No offense intended. Been travelling for a month and a half.
>>
>>47943333
Literally because it's the fucking worst, most retarded thing in jumpchain at this point. Limitfags are almost as bad as bancho when it comes to wanking about their own bullshit.
>>
>>47943339
That would be pointless and arbitrary. It's better not to allow them, it's worth noting that they're unique and that their various powers have fucked them up in horrible ways. Nihilus is a non-sentient monster, Sion can only function if he's full rage 24/7 with no rational thought or he dies for real, Exile's powers can't be turned off, and The Ones are gods.
>>
>>47943297
They look a bit too gamist. They rely a lot on the reader knowing the details of D&D/Pathfinder (which also means they're not "Generic RPG" jumps, they're a specific RPG). It winds up feeling kind of...well, I don't mean to insult your friend, but it feels lazy. Like they didn't want to bother with the effort of translating game mechanics into perks and describing what they did, so they just assigned CP costs to levels and said "figure it out yourself".

Ahahahaha, that's not going to make a difference. Anyone remember Dune? How people willingly mindrape themselves for power? Or what about Reality Marbles?
