Does anyone else that big guys are more important/better in league formats than in open match making?
In a league you can roster and cut a big guy depending on your opponent so it is more tv independent and it helps protect your squad from attrition to have one
IMO merc big guys shouldn't cost the extra 40k or what ever to hire for a match

Finally got round to updating stunty with a proper description. Records, obituary and winners page are all up. Slightly updated the logo.
And regular flings and gobbos are added to the roster since that's actually possible now. Goblins still have the regular secret weapon rule instead of the stunty one, though.

I'm here at the inaugural game of the rookie league and the name of the game is "Gotta Go Fast". What was looking to be an exciting Game 1 turned into crushing rat infested win for the Skaven Team, who got not 1 but two blitzed off in the first half, and threw away a third potential goal as newcomer threepac delivered the ball to him on a silver platter(with cheese).
The second half devolved into a messy scrum which the reporter was too busy to actually watch. Rats win.
I'M BACK BABY and invested in the Rookie League this season. No promises but this is going to be the best season of /tg/ league BB ever!

Honestly either of them are fine rosters. First one is good because it lets you hold the line easier as a skaven team with the ogre, but the second one has more gutter runners which means more chance of mvp on them. It's pretty much down to personal preference I think

If you have both claw and mighty blow then you will be breaking armor on a 7+, on average breaking armor. Sure with piling on you can kill shit twice as fast, but if you have a full cpomb piece, especially a big guy who takes up so much tv they will get gang fouled.
And yeah, Pact doesn't have any real positionals so you need to skill marauders into them. Having a cpomb or 2 is alright as long as it's on a marauder.
What are the thought on the skaven thrower? Just take him because he is only 20K more than a lino and comes with surehands and just treat him like a lino unless your gutters die/you have to deal with surehands?

Well the thing is you want to stick your big guy into a scrum, and guard is great because it synergises well with that. A line of scrimmage fight with 1 guard piece vs a los without a guard piece means the team with guard will get 2dblocks with an equal amount of pieces. Of course you could just block with the big guy first to make a hole but then you're blocking with a negatrait before guaranteed blocks.

It's fun but i hate the league system man I'm always paired with a all lvl 3 and up team and get destroyed so bad with the team I just made that I got to make a new one. Rinse and repeat, why can't we just have a better match making system? Or a server list?

Alrighty, finished watched my first replay of many of an actual somewhat close match.
The game began with a rather onesided High Elf offensive. The Foot Blooters avoided the majority of the Amazon's blows. Managing to kill linewoman Nutty Nana right before scoring on their 5th turn.
The next drive looked promising for the rookie Amazons as Catcher Blaine was killed and saved by the apothocary. Then Bitchy the Thrower was give yet another serious concussion. Sadly though, the High Elven defense was too much and the Amazons would have to try and score again during the second half.
A sloppy start to the second half got Blitzer Donna surfed and the left the ball open to a blitz from technically still a high elf, Max. With the ball soon left undefended, Mad Chad makes a quick leap and runs away with the ball. In return, Star Play Bertha Bigfist gave Scatterfire Max a serious concussion and Line Miner had has ankle smashed when Sweet Sally turned sour with a foul.
After a turn of stalling the Foot Blooters score, but next drive Big Hands Betty pays Mad Chad back by stomping on his neck. In the final moments of the game, Catcher Blaine pays Donna back by badly hurting her and taking the ball. Without anymore time, the game ends 2-0 in favor of Foot Blooters. But looking at the state of the teams afterwords, I think we all know who the real winners are.

Pro elves have av7 linos and throwers, the difference between av7 and av8 is quite dramatic going from 41.67% to break armor to 27.78%. The high elf thrower is also better.
Dark Elves don't get any dedicated throwing or catching positionals, just a guy with Dump-Off. Furthermore, they have no ma8 positionals, and 2 of their positionals have av7.
These are their strenghts compared to pro and dark elves that you're ignoring, and obviously pro and dark elves have strenghts of their own just like they have their weaknesses like I just said.

Because high elves are just dark elves and pro elves' strengths toned down and mixed together, with the added thrower. He's literally the only thing you would pick high elves for. Anything you want to do with them you'd be better off picking dark or pro elves. Obviously not everything is black and white better or even comparable, but you can clearly see what high elves are lacking in comparison.

What do you get when you cross Monkeys with Nurgle's Chosen and play them on the hottest day of the year? A smell that will keep you vomiting all night long.
Cmonkey is back in the rookies this season, after a middling season last year thanks to some early loses, and he is first up against newcomer TactyHacky. The game starts on The monkey's drive and a hard, fast push down the sideline see a quick score with minimal losses for the MBI. It was at that moment the smell hit, and the heat stroke. When the teams return to the field they only numbered 5v7. What should have been an easy Nurgle drive turned sour quickly as the Beast knocked himself down attempting to hit a bonobo. Despite the monkey numbers dwindling to 2v7, Nurgle Warrior Jumbalgrin tripped over his own feet trying to score and lost the chance of a 1st half comeback.
Second half starts on Nurgle's drive with the numbers still in their favor 8v11. A perfect defense and failed pick up led to a Chimpan-Z-spread ball acquisition. On the recovery attempt Pestigor G. Diamonds decides that a light touch would be better than loosening the ball and C-Z-spread breaks out and runs it in. Tacty tries to get on the board with a grinding cage, but just barely manages to stop the ball when it is inevitably stolen and sent the wrong way down the field. Victorious sweaty Monkeys don't smell any better. MBI wins 2-0
