Autocannon is probably the best choice for a scout sentinel anyway. Lascannons on that chassis are too costly (can you even do it, actually) and BS3 on a single shot weapon hurts.

I played a 12-way free for all run what you brung game on a warehouse floor once. Any points, any army, last man standing. We had alternating groups (so the guy to your left and right aren't allies, but go at the same time), with counterclockwise turn order respected when intervening players were knocked out. At the end, VPs were scaled by points.
It was a massive clusterfuck that took weeks, and the winner ended up being a kid that only brought like a thousand points and got knocked out on the first day, but it was still my favorite game of 40k I've ever played. There's something magical about seeing well over 100,000 points arrayed for battle.

War Walkers. I imagine you have a rather static army since Alaitoc´s main thing is Rangers? If so the mobility of Vypers doesn´t really do much. Better to have the more effective War Walkers to support your snipers. With scatter lasers they are actually really, especially in Alaitoc since you have anti-heavy infantry and MC with your snipers.

But, to answer your point, I'd go with Blood Angels. They're really up against the wall with Baal. Got the Leviathan tendril, not splinter, heading to Baal coupled with Ka'bandha invading from the edge of the system. I dunno how many Successors Blood Angels have (I honestly thought they were 2nd most numerous, but I seem to remember reading Iron Fists have WAAAAY more) and thus how many are at Baal, but it must be in excess of 5,000 Marines. That many Marines close together will likely set something off.
It's my hope that it'll be the time that GW creates Death Company Terminators, as Dante reasons it's better to let them go mental in Terminator armour than it is to remove them, as there is no use protecting Relics if no BA's are there to use them. Plus, it's said in a novel that the teleporter homer on a Terminator suit will return to the teleportarium, even if it's owner is dead. So you could send up Death Company Termies, they die, then call them back to Baal's teleport room (which they must have) remove them and put some new guys in.

We're in the exact same boat my man. Have you considered Corsairs? They're what I settled on and ordered recently. Crazy as fuck glass cannon army that plays a lot like DE with some Craftworld bullshit thrown in and yet very little of its cheese. They have psykers but you have to go full balls to the wall to use them because they will very easily fuck you over when they go wrong.
The best part is you can convert most of their models from DE, or if you're lazy just build DE as Corsairs. It won't work out if you're into the Haemonculus related shit, but I guess they can't have it all. But that's what allies are for, right?

Red Thirst is a genetic defect they have anyway. If you come to the 40k general for legitimate 40k discussion, odds are you're going to be disappointed. But there is occasional entertainment, and decent anons posting content. When I post it's almost always pics of models, or to help some noob that asks for advice here.

The Tau update and subsequent whining was nothing compared to the lengthy Nid shitposting. The occasional thread dominated by Tau arguing is annoying, but following the Nid codex, every thread was ruined for months.
The past few months of generals have been pretty bad. I'm not 100% sure why, but Ive been here long enough to recognize there are at least a couple new (in the past few months) people that post constantly. If I had to guess Id say theres a few anons that migrated to/discovered /tg/, and have taken up residency in the 40k general.

Only place it'd work is Space Wolves, as their Wolf Lords are Chapter Masters by default. They are hands down better than every other generic you can get, simply due to Acute Senses and, in effect, +1A.

Apart from WG, is there anything that isn't superheavy that has the D? maybe I'm stuck thinking of infantry by the only things that come to mind are the Warp Hunter and Lynx, latter of which is only not a superheavy so it can be blown out of the sky in one shot like Eldar shit is supposed to do. Make him 150 points base, remove the ability to access wargear and chapter rules to represent a warrior outside the chain of command.
Give him a storm or combi-bolter for ranged, and I'd be good.
A captain with artificer armor, relic blade and storm bolter is 150, and hase access to chapter rules.
