Me, my companion apprentice and my workers set up shop in a forest ruin. Working with the denizen Spriggan, and receiving aid from Mathilde in civilization, we use our skills in alchemy and engineering to construct a roost for the first of my two magical companions, the Phoenix. Gritting my teeth through the pain of its fire, I offer my titan arm for it to perch and earn its trust as the man tough enough to handle the beast without true fire resistance. Then, with it at my side I challenge the authority of the Arcane Dragon, swatting it out of the sky and proving that mortal might is still might to be respected. With these two, I set out to find the source, establish a settlement at it, and begin careful analysis of the waters and the dirt around the source, digging as carefully as possible so as not to disrupt the source. Then, myself and the apprentice will begin attempting to synthesize the waters, or perhaps the fountain itself. From there, we will use our newfound mass produced longevity to fight the Beast and claim our right to rule the land. Then, we will spread our knowledge and work with the people of this world to make better themselves and their world. Throughout the journey, we hear rumors that the source of the wizard's power lies somewhere out there, a gate to a realm where wizards and beasts like such proliferate ad infinitum. After the great journey, we gather our resources, approach the gate, and make first contact with the Dark God of progress.

To be honest, those "waifus" were there for you to fill in.
Those rewards are literally as perfect as you wanted, and if you really wanted to you could maybe instead hope to romance one of the many helpers or watchers. It's a CYOA, you get to choose what happens in the end.
I might reword the helpers page to specifically state that they are romance-able. It's the slight difference between guaranteed mold-able waifu and risky girl next door that might not actually be interested in you.

Levitation's Flight and Efficient upgrades cost far too much for what they do. You can manage most if not all of that for 6 if you take Telekinesis and its upgrade Precision, which also saves you a total of 5 points. If you take that with its other upgrade Power you could likely go faster than it would allow and even manage Barrier but that's not so poorly priced. I'd cut the price of that whole tree by half rounded down if it were my choice. You're still outclassing it if you take Telekinesis fully if doing just that but for 5 points I'd be willing to take it just so I wouldn't have to focus on levitating or flying while in combat since in theory it would weak me overall drawing from the same power source.
Otherwise a pretty solid CYOA.

Human helpers had sad lives because that's the people that the Dead King targets. Those who don't have anything left and are willing to do anything to get what they want. Helping them gives him loyal allies that are willing to do whatever they can to help him, and he gets to feel all fuzzy inside as they murderhobo their way through his enemies.

It's less that he doesn't want to help you, but he's aware of his temper and knows if you call for him while he's fighting another Eternal/god-like being then he is going to kill you on the spot for interrupting him. Then he'll be sad for a bit before returning to the fight.
Dead King is current least ungrateful Eternal, because he's the only one that still tries to keep some semblance of "Free-will". When it's easier to just mind-blank someone to become the perfect slave, most will choose the path of least resistance.
Next CYOA set in this universe will be a Watcher retirement, so he'll definately be a lot less ungrateful. That is, after the expansion to this CYOA, which I am more excited to make right now.

Your ship wouldn't be made for warfare and wouldn't be equipped with any weaponry. It would still have a fusion reactor, but even modern day reactors are built with so many safeguards to protect against self-destruct and general hazards. You also wouldn't actually have the knowledge to modify it and it would eventually break down. Only after the jump would you get access to Rank 3 Tech Boost which would give you the knowledge to tinker with it.
Even scientific prodigy at max ranks wouldn't be enough since it really only lets you upgrade technology to our current standards.

Overwatch is fun. It isn't all that fast-paced. I mean, Tracer or someone might be, but there's plenty of people where you can be more relaxed. Lucio can be useful just by evading. Or someone as tanky as D Va can live even if you're slow through sheer health. My top characters are 76, D Va, & Mercy. Not sure who my preferred defense is; that shuffles around a lot.

Actually, you don't pick game modes. It randomly picks a map & each map is a different mode. One map might be king of the hill. Another might be attack & defense with 2 points. Another might be payload. Another might be cap 1 point & then payload the rest of the way. 76 is a good starting hero. He has a group heal & is ultimate (aimbot) is pretty easy to use. On defense, Bastion is a good starting character. After taking a moment to plant into one spot, he gains by far the best damage in the game & with good range. The weakness here is that it takes a moment to get up and move. The sheer power, though, makes up for it. Or if you're too concerned about skill, try Torbjorn, the engineer-type class. You gun can kill things for you. Lucio is the unskilled man's medic. I'm not sure who the easiest tank is. Tank is such a team role that it's hard to say. Maybe Roadhog, simply because he doesn't have much team use like shielding allies. Team coordination is not always the easiest thing.

The problem with that attitude is you're never going to pick options outside of your comfort zone or make dangerous and interesting choices and explain how you plan to mitigate their negative effects or how those drawbacks affect the personality and psychology of that character build.
It leads to really boring and mediocre builds that essentially turns your escapism into a imaginary version of your current real life.

Yes, because you're still imagining what that character is going through, how he, she or it is adapting and responding to the situation.

Because cyoa stands for choose your own adventure, and adventure implies there's a level of risk and danger involved as well as uncertainty, wonder and excitement. But I don't think that definition matters anymore if people are more concerned about making their imaginary life as similar to their idealized comfy real life as much as possible.

Word of author is the highest authority on this, but in the interim the rule of thumb is to go with a choice-balancing assumption when presented with a ??? like this.
In this instance: If high-level mind control would allow you to completely hijack your faction, that would be enormously powerful for its price tag and as such game breaking. Arguably the limited degree of extra leeway granted by mind control would also be broken if it wasn't confined to manipulating grunts. Therefore the charitable assumption is that your faction's hierarchy has protection from whatever sort of mind control/manipulation you are using, and it would take the implementation of other strengths and skills over a long and perilous campaign to get around those factors.
As a big fan of Super Soldier CYOA, I hope this helps peeps to keep enjoying this work, and I hope the author addresses the issue. As for self-healing, nothing in its descriptions covers aging, just injury, so it would be a stretch to assume either would benefit. Again, author's word first.
