Welcome to the /tg/ OC thread.
Previous Thread: >>47814821
Tell us about your original characters, new and old. Let's hear some stories of valor and glory and build some legends in here.

>THIS THREAD IS PRIMARILY FOR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND SHOWING OFF YOUR FAVORITES FROM YOUR GAMES
It's like the Storythread, but centered on characters that we all know and help make. Your Original Character can be any character you've played, are playing, or want to play!

>WHEN POSTING YOUR OC
Give us a little blurb about your character, this is a brag thread after all. Some basic questions to get you started:
• Name:
• Role(s):
• Goals:
• Traits:
• Flaws:
• Allies:
• Enemies:
• Other Relations:
• Physical Description:

>WHAT'S YOUR OCs MARY SUE SCORE?
http://www.springhole.net/writing/marysue.htm

Write and share stories about each others' characters (use a pastebin for works that would take up multiple posts). Draw and share pictures of each others' characters (please link offsite in the event of NSFW work).

Ask questions about other anons characters and get to know their stories, and tell us all about your own.

Need help developing a new character concept? Ask away! Answering the periodically posted Development Questions can often help, so look for those.

This thread is intended to be all in good spirit, so please remember to be excellent to each other, and try to contribute in some way. If you can't draw, write something for someone and vice versa.

>IF YOU JUST NEED CHARACTER ART, GO TO THE DRAW THREAD
There are more artists consistently there that are actively looking for requests to fill, that's not the case here.

>DON'T MAKE A NEW THREAD UNTIL PAGE 10
Use new art from these threads as OP image when possible.

GoogleDoc of the characters so far (still in progress, so don't be alarmed if you don't see yours) https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_dUy0Yo4cigbTB1Q1g5bTRvcTQ&usp=sharing

>Name
Luvos Nichto
>Role
Planar Explorer, Diabolic Conjurer, Guest Villain
>Goals
To remain on the forefront of knowledge, exploration, and change. Luvos is in the process of writing a series of encyclopedias of planar knowledge. He is experimenting with means of achieving immortality and slowly perfecting his revenge against his wizard peers.
>Traits
Luvos has little respect for conventions. He enjoys the fleeting nature of comprehension and more enjoys the hunt for knowledge itself. He has demonstrated a frightening degree of patience and a somewhat obsessive personality. He is easily flustered. Luvos is attracted to forbidden knowledge and other things an authority figure says are dangerous this is derived from a desire to overcompensate and impress others by taming such dangerous things. Growing up as a half-drow raised by humans has given him an affinity for the taboo and makes him feel like a kindred spirit to most things labelled as evil and secretive.
>Flaws
In addition to having little respect for tradition, Luvos' time spent exploring the multiverse and planescape has left him reluctant to put any faith in the moral boundaries of any one plane. He has picked up the habit of introducing himself in fancier and fancier nonsensical titles. He believes he is the smartest person in any room but that everyone seems to know something he doesn't. Any attempts at appearing friendly are usually hindered by his creepy and overblown mannerisms, lack of social awareness, and the stench of brimstone clinging to his robes.
>Allies
A animated foot stool with the personality of a terrier and a clumsy broomstick.
>Physical Description
Luvos is a young looking man swathed in several layers of dark robes, he is hooded at most times and has dusky grey skin which shows on his face and finger tips. His drow heritage has gives him his yellow eyes and aversion to sunlight. He has sharp features and poor posture.

>No thread title

That Rashad piece came out fantastic in the end. It's a nice simple clean cut art style that makes for really nice reference pages.

>Does your character enjoy literature? What kind if so?
Thug doesn't read much if at all. He only knows a handful of written words. Vadania on the other hand would be quite well read and most likely reads tales about mysterious legends.
>>
>>47897563
Luvos adores literature, he lives in a massive library after all. His favorite sort of writing is non fiction and records of natural history.

>>
• Name: Wellyn Elias Ashlt
• Role(s): Caster, Support, Investigator, Alchemist
• Goals: Currently attempting to gain knowledge and understanding of the magical forces at work around the world he resides in.
• Traits: The world is too much with him, he thinks he is a little smarter than everyone else, he is deeply suspicious of joy, he sees sincerity as a weapon that can be used against him, and he conceals his emotional needs.
• Flaws: Poor attitude, a lack of formal training in magic, and a deep mistrust of others are the main plauges of Wellyn's life.
• Allies: His familiar Bough, a Crocguana.
• Enemies: N/A
• Other Relations: None thus far.
• Physical Description: Short, unruly rusty brown hair, atop a head that fits a narrow often frowning face and grey eyes that dart around like flies. His body is neither muscular nor, weak and carries with it the frame of a swimmer. His face contains several deep scars of past troubles, and his gaunt fingers are attached to callused burned hands.

>Name:
Kaiger Stancaster
>• Role(s):
Barbarian, keeps the party in line and hits things really hard, and Lord of the Orcish Clans
>• Goals:
Prove to his clan and human family he isn't worthless, find something that he can beat his sister in and become a hero in a bard story
>• Traits:
He's short tempered,gung-ho and egotistical but he tries to maintain some sense of honor. Also major mama's boy
>• Flaws:
He's gullible if there's a chance of battle/murder he's usually all for it. His short temper has lead to him brutalizing party members.
>• Allies:
The Dragon Bard; Marijuano Blaze, the Dank Elf of Prophecy; the Bonecrusher Clan; and a dwarven city state
>• Enemies:
Cult of Talona, Demorgorgon,Pelor,Pelor's angels and a handful of a human nobles
>• Other Relations:
Agatha, his twin sister who succeeds at everything she tries and Ganar his older flamboyant brother
>• Physical Description:
Kaiger stands at 5'11 with an athletic build. He has short black hair and green eyes with a manly stubble. He wears red dragon scale armor, dragon horn bracers and a black wolf pelt(all of these things he's killed or had a hand in killing). The wolf pelt looks worn and torn. His weapon of choice is a bastard sword of his own creation Moon's Terror, he smelted down a Death Knight's long sword and a deceased party member's bastard sword El Chakal. The blade's hilt is black with the pommel of a crescent moon and the in the center of the cross guard a side profile of a wolf howling with a red gem for an eye

>Does your character enjoy literature? What kind if so?
Well Kaiger's new at reading in Common so he's probably not capable of reading King Leer or Heart of Darkness if he wanted to but he does he like stories. He loves nothing more than hearing stories that follow the typical Hero's Journey.

Campaign update for Charlotte du Beauchamp.

After having set out on a merchant ship to travel to where she knew Julia's unit to have been deployed, somewhere along the way the vessel was set upon by slavers looking for fresh cargo.

The ship was overrun, and she was talen in with a number of others to be sold off into servitude. Some time later (her memory is fuzzy on these details) the ship wrecked on it's approach to one of the dockside warehouses, and she escaped along with others into the desert they now found themselves in. With her in this predicament was a very kind-hearted woman who called herself Marie, a mage who dealt with some of the darker sides of magic in an attempt to gather information. She and Charlotte became fast friends.

Shortly after, a man who identified himself as Ul'gin discovered them, and without food or shelter they took his offer for assistance. Ul'gin was a ranking lieutenant in the local Thieves' Guild, the "Allas", and his sister had been captured by these traffickers. So collectively the group decided to attempt to cripple the smuggling ring as best they could. Charlotte hoped for more answers as to where she was and, more importantly, Jules.

Ul'gin fed and sheltered the party, and told them that in the early morning he would teach them to hunt as the Allas do, with desert birds known as 'nasur'. When they met to set out, Charlotte was given one named A'geer to work with. The hunt was a success, with Marie and Charlotte showing such an aptitude for working with nasur, that Ul'gin offered that they keep the birds, as his thanks for agreeing to help free his sister.

Planning began that night, they would raid the very warehouse that jad been their ultimate destination, had the ship not crashed before reaching it. They loaded up a small ship and intended to sail into the loading bay while half the party went around to disarm the alarms and subdue the guards.

The plan went off mostly without a hitch, but when they finished the fighting in the warehouse, all they could find were manifests and documents that pointed them to the next goal. The slavers had moved locations after the shipwreck, and the party was now hot on their trail.

What does your OC look for in a friend? Who does s/he consider his/her best friend? Which OC in this thread is s/he most likely to befriend?
>>
>>47901546
Well, Charlotte and Marie make a good pair because they balance each other out. Marie keeps Char from being too uptight and straight arrow, and Charlotte ensures that the dead stay dead, curbing Marie'd voodoo addiction a bit. They are both fun-loving adventure seeking types that are just enjoying the ride.

>Who does s/he consider his/her best friend? Which OC in this thread is s/he most likely to befriend?
Luvos looks for someone that stays true to themselves and isn't just the puppet of some greater movement, organization, or will. He doesn't have any close friends right now though and most OCs would probably kill him for xp if they ever met him.

unravel the mysteries of the arcane

observant / keen minded

doesn't care to learn spells

anyone who crosses his path and gets lucky (most of the group)

anyone who trys to stop him from his quest of learning magic(op bull shit) (DM)

is willing to use magic to kill / intimidate but that takes him away from his studies

average human, mages robes have turned into rags due to lack of maintenance, patch work spell book of any peace of paper he could get his hands on at the time sowed to any random page in any random place.

>the night was young but the poor man continued to work, scribbling notes and on rare occasions there were flashes of light as the mage worked tirelessly to try to unravel the mysteries of the arcane. no amount of gold could take him away form this task. unlike other mages who only wished to memories a few spells this mage was a true scolor who didn't care for petty tricks. he was more interested in learning to bending reality for its own sake.

he prity much refused to learn spells clamming that it took him away from studying more important matters. eventually the dm decided that we were fighting a demon who was powerful enough to bend reality and i bent it back because it interfered with my studies. dm let me do it then got really pissed that i did. he thought that we were going to go fight him anyway but instead we just kinda left him there and we never did the ark the dm had been planing for 3 months

Kaiger looks for loyalty and honesty in a friend. The Bard is Kaiger's best friend because while he may lie to him for his own amusement but at the end of the day he knows the Bard has his back. He's the party member that doesn't try to steal, he's the party member that helps Kaiger formulate plans, and they've travelled together for so long he views him like an annoying brother.

For OCs in this thread I don't think any of them would get along with Kaiger too well. I can see him trying to get along with Cata or Charlotte but his blunt personality and orcish nature would probably be off putting to them.

Let's go for it.
• Name:
Irya Sheen
• Role(s):
Witch, Planar Cartographer, Magical Shopkeep
• Goals:
Regain her prior power, as it was fractured within the many lives of other 'hers' within other planes - but, mostly? Irya wants knowledge as direly as a dragon wants a horde.
• Traits:
Wisened, snide, silver-tongued, maternal, and sharp as a tack.
• Flaws:
Paranoid, crude, drastic, obsessive, and too straight-forward.
• Allies:
A few of her Acolytes (other spellcasters she taught of 'leaping' about the planes), a few others who stride the spaces between worlds, such as an eccentric blue-haired alcoholic and a worshipper of a strange, birdlike god. Also commonly followed by a tiny, feathered dinosaur she bound to her.
• Enemies:
She's made many in her travels and fervent pursuit of knowledge, and her stigmata makes her easy to find for such.
• Other Relations:
Before she began walking, she was happily entangled into a strange relationship with a changeling by the name of Ravasaadi. Unknown to her, he's still trying to find her.
• Physical Description:
See picture.

>>47901546
>What does your OC look for in a friend? Who does s/he consider his/her best friend? Which OC in this thread is s/he most likely to befriend?
Irya looks for someone sharp, either easy/hard to push around, and otherwise some manner of curiosity. With her travels, she can't much call a best friend of them, but... she'd probably try to bro it up with Luvos and, failing that, likely become a rival.
>>
• Name: Ironbeard
• Role(s): Tank, partially literally.
• Goals: Currently, Catch Bobba "Golden Boy" Fett [That's my gm's reference.]
• Traits: STRONK AS FUCK, ROBO PIRATE. Confident and vengeful
• Flaws: Vengeful again as well as impulsive
• Allies: Currently none. But since he's an ttrpg character, hopefully the party.
• Enemies: Literally entire systems, mostly bounty hunters, especially Bobba Fett.
• Other Relations: None, as basically full robot he doesn't need much.
• Physical Description: Fuckhuge square with smaller rectangles attached to it. Almost always bigger than anyone in the room [He's 3.5 m. tall, or 11'5 feet.]. His left lower arm is perpetually turned into a cannon while his right arm can switch between an arm with a grappling hook with chain for rope and a grand daiklave.

Name: Paar'tol, the Elderplague

Role: Ward against spirits, black magic, and all forms of supernatural predators.

Goals: Use his education of the inner workings of the sides of Light and Dark as a benefit to mankind, casting out those who would victimize innocent lives.

Traits: Has a mentor-like mindset, loves a listening ear and to teach others ways to protect themselves through clever application of charms, trinkets, and rituals.

Flaws: When encountering an adversary he's unfamiliar with, Paar'tol is on edge to a fault, often becoming blocked mentally as he tries to formulate a plan of action. This can slow down his reflexes and clog his mind.

Enemies: Hidden witch covens pepper the lands Paar'tol resides in, and it's his duty to flush them out into the light.

He got his name of "Elderplague" after aiding a local mercenary band ONCE, that had been hired to clear out a coven preying on a small farmtown and Paar'tol helped see them to victory.

He didn't do anything to 'earn' the nickname, it was just something this contractor group did for fun apparently, and it stuck. I mean, they gave the other guy the name Wardbreaker, which Paar'tol is pretty jealous of.

He got married recently, so there's that.

• Name: Teagan Murkwater
• Role(s): Street Hustler, Smooth Talker, Ambusher, All-Around Cheeky Shit
• Goals: Formerly get paid and enjoy life. Now she's looking into pre-apocalyptic history
• Traits: Cocky, lucky, street smart.
• Flaws: Snarky, somewhat cowardly, dishonest
• Allies: Currently none as the party separated after their last adventure
• Enemies: A noble house in her home country, anyone she's ever fleeced who figured it out. Possibly a surly Dwarven cartagropher
• Other Relations: Mother and sister
• Physical Description: Standing around average height and possessing a runner's build, appears to be in her early 20s for a half-elf, dresses in foppish and guady attire and wears her hair in an artfully tussled mess of sandy blond locks.

•Development Question: Teagan isn't much for reading, but she'll soon spend a good deal of time pouring over historical accounts and old tomes.

brown eyes, brown hair, about 5'7". Wears a robe into battle under her carapace armor, and has a long coat over that. Uses a force spear (counts as force sword). Yeah, his character got married to my IRL wife's character in-game. It was a pretty cool ceremony, in which Paar'tol used a number of hunter tricks to ensure she was not an undead/witch/werewolf/vamp/etc.

He thought she didn't know, but she did, and said "I do" anyway.
>>
>>47905288
She reminds me of a guard psyker I played a while back. Particulary of the scene where he chased his fellow soldiers around the trench yelling "FEAR NOT THE PYSKER YOU MEWLING HAMSTER MOLESTERS, SAYS SO RIGHT HERE!" at them and waving a copy of the Imperial Creed. The trench weeping blood and the fear power being both very active and mildly out of control didn't help all that much, but it's the thought that counts.

Sup thread, looking for some help?

I made a character art request here
>>47893807
>>47893807

And I'm wondering if you guys can help me flesh the character out more? I wanna base him off the musician in the pic (the whole party is doing this as a theme, nobody is allowed to know who the others are until the game starts).

If you don't recognize him he is Serj Tankian from System of a Down. He'd have heavy anti-authoritarian views but not be a violent protester, and wants to protect the earth from destruction.

I'm thinking druid + bard?

The other hard part for me is determining how to make him mesh with an adventuring group without dragging them down or being a stick in the mud. Help?

>Name:
Sigmund Caine

>Role(s):
Tracker, damage dealer, party dad

>Goals:
To reunite with his daughter, rescue his beleaguered wood-wife, and cut down the ones who had done his family wrong.

>Traits:
Wise and strong, Sigmund's wide knowledge on nature and the things that live in it has kept the party fed and focused throughout much of the adventure. More importantly, Sigmund's will in regards to his family has been proven to be the real steel; of all the Will checks we had to make over the campaign, he only failed one.

>Flaws:
Woefully unprepared for anything related to high society or urban living. Much of our adventures in the capital of Durengrad were him bumbling through crowds and complaining about the sheer lack of tracks.

>Allies:
The Dusk Hunters, a motley collection of monster hunters stationed out of Durengrad

>Enemies:
The Arcane Inquisition, led by Helena and Arasandra the Black, a witch of terrible power allied to the Great Wyrm named Nagaroth the Red.

>Other Relations:
Adelina, his missing Changeling Daughter and his wood-wife Aomeda 'The Green Lady" Greenleaf, an ancient Hamadryad that had presided over the continent since time immemorial.

>Physical Description:
a burly bearded man at 5'11 with fern-green eyes and hair the color of mud, when cleaned up Sigmund has been regarded as something of a hunk, with expressive eyes and a solid jawline.

General druid advice is to have your character look at the greater good-don't take a hard line unless it directly conflicts with your core character concept. Don't have your character go chaining himself to trees or refusing to work for civilization-maybe have him think civilization has it's place as part of sentient species' natural cycle, his job is to maintain balance between the nature of civilization and the nature of wilderness.

Your character is also an entertainer, and based off a pretty funny one at that. Even if he doesn't agree with the rest of the party, he should be in tune with what they're feeling and should use his music to lift spirits/poke fun as necessary.

It's a sardonic sense of humor but it's there. "Steal this Album" during the collapse of the CD, a lot of the songs on Mezmerize, etc.

I also got a sense that they've always had fun doing what they do. Even when making a political point or angsting, they didn't seem to take themselves too seriously and kept things pretty uptempo, something I've grown to appreciate.

>Name:
Thug (The Orc)

>Role(s):
Hammer Application System, Crafter, Sack of Hit Points. Muscle.

>Goals:
Travel and adventure. Smell all the good smells. Be free.

>Traits:
Thug loves freedom and adventure. he enjoys the open road and what it may hold. He rarely stays in one place long though he does own a small cottage and a smithy on the edge of a small town surrounded by fields of flowers. He's not very smart but he has a worldly sort of wisdom as he's seen the best and worst of people in his travels. In battle he is a precise and careful foe who measures his enemies before striking them down with hammerblows. Apprenticed under an elderly man just after earning his freedom and learned much about smithery. He cares a great deal for "little humans" as he refers to them and will often times rise to great acts of bravery (or violence) in their defense.

>Flaws:
Short for an Orc. Has average Orc intelligence, which is to say low. Can only read a handful of important words. Cannot write at all.

>Allies:
Smash, Brute, and Honor. Whatever adventuring party he manages to join next.

>Enemies:
Kenders, Sneaky-Sneakers, and some Finger Wigglers. An Orc Tribe. Metal gobblers. Nobles often times.

>Other Relations:
No family.

>Physical Description:
5'5" of muscle. Dark green skin. A bit hunched (which attributes to his height). Scarred heavily from years of pit fighting. Bald. Never seen without his twin warhammers.

• Name: Jennica Korr
• Role(s): Captain, CQC specialist
• Goals: Reunite the Empire, find father, ignore Force plot hooks until Inquisitors/GM force the issue
• Traits: Uptight, Stubborn, Aggressive, Loyal
• Flaws: Her aggressive and stubborn nature leads to unnecessary risks and have pissed off the wrong people. Combine that with an almost myopic view towards her objectives, both personal and mission-based, and she's led the party out on a limb more than once.
• Allies: A junkie Imperial Tie pilot, a Nosaurian mercenary, a hapless hired gun, an Imperial Warlord with more firepower than common sense
• Enemies: A rogue Inquisitor, a band of Mandolorians, at least one Imperial Remnant Faction, New Republic scum
• Other Relations: Her adopted father, the Imperial officer who got her into ImpInt, which according to different reports is either KIA, captured by the Republic, or working with the Republic
• Physical Description: A tall Cathar who takes pride in her appearance and uniform.
-Mary Sue Score: 10

Poor Korr. She started off as a rum fueled bet that you could make a legitimate catgirl character and became one of my all time favorites to play.

I could use some help with how to take her character. The Empire was her life and a good deal of her identity, and the Remnant faction she backed recently folded, leaving her and the party twisting in the wind save for the warlord who's strong enough to maintain independence in an out of the way system but not much else. Collapsing into depressed indifference is not fun to play and angry denial is already pretty close to how she's reacted to the post-Endor galaxy. Aside from a new sense of determination or anxious frustration, any suggestions on how to handle this?
>>
>>47897563
Someone might've said this in a previous thread, but that "litmus test" doesn't do a very good job being a litmus test. A litmus test is supposed to be quick and simple. The paper changed color? It's an acid.

Aren't there like, a hundred Remnants? If one falls, she just finds another.

Or, better yet, she tries to rekindle the Remnant faction with herself as the head, or at the very least picking out a suitable leader.
>>
>>47910695
Not all remnants are created equal, and both the GM and character have been using comparisons to other Imperial factions to keep the party from being outright bad guys, "But not muh Remnant," etc. She's also pissed a couple of the major ones off.

Definitely going to try to rekindle the old faction and enlist the allied warlord's help.
>>
>>47910787

If you were looking for changes to behavior and personality, it sounds like is she'd just get under an extreme amount of stress at all the new work she has to do *simply to get back to where she was.*

Extreme stress + angry denial = a very, very upset cat. The kind of cat that will go scorched earth if it means making her job easier. That is how I'd start playing the character now; she's gone from aggressive and cunning to aggressive and brutal. The ship's been taking on water for a while now, but now that it's actually around her waist she's willing to do *anything* to get it back to her ankles, even if that means "lightening the load."

>A challenger appears..!

Name: "Red" Callahan

Role(s): Arcane dabbler, combat focused Warlock who had beseeched an Elder Thing to bestow him power on the eve of an ill-fated siege. He doesn't yet know what he paid for the gifts...

Goals: Break the bond forged between him and this cosmic horror, and find a way to stop the hallucinations.

Traits: Analytical, intelligent, and he has a good sword-arm. Doesn't mind hanging around pretty much anybody, assuming they aren't trying to "get" him.

Flaws: suffers major stress disorders from the raid that lost him so many men and through a chain of events caused the eventual capture of his capital.

Enemies: The Otherwordly One that he leeches power from, he hopes not to understand it, but to remove himself from it.

I was shooting for like a medieval themed HPL protag, any tips on how to better hit that mark without being too heavy handed with it? I feel like I came too close to hitting it a bit on the nose.
>>
>>47910854
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

>>47910965
How does he handle stress and his situation? Sarcasm and a surface lightheartedness or lugubrious angst? Avoid purple prosing his problems aloud and you'll get a long way from HPL stereotypes and adding your own spin on things.

HPL protagonists also typically have a single-mindedness that drives them towards their inevitable doom and pushes everyone else away from them. How are you going to/already balancing your character's obsession with the party?
>>
>>47911103
Depends on the stress, I guess. Combat stress he might start to experience a wild sort of recklessness, nothing too crazy like attacking friendlies, but maybe wild-eyed and jerky movement patterns?

As for balancing the inner-party problems, they know about his issues, having been former soldiers under his command, and they've agreed to help him in his pursuit to cleanse his spirit.

>catgirl
>clearly an elf

As for everything else, get a goal. Rebuild something or tear it down, that's always good for drama.
>>
>>47911883

Her goal has always been to rebuild the empire, the anon is saying all her hard work has been for naught as the local Remnant collapsed.

It's a game of ladders; Korr has been working her ass off to go up the rungs, but despite all her efforts she has actually *gone down* a few steps. The catgirl that wanted to go from Remnant to Empire now has to go from Nothing to Remnant.

If she was around to see the pre-Endor Empire, that would be enough to make her say "fuck it" and go full insurgent; now, instead of kindly asking for a thing, she's going to get her blaster out and demand it.

Rage. The word I'm looking for is rage. Rage at those who destroyed her government. Rage at being on what is clearly becoming the "wrong side of history." Rage at a universe that doesn't give a shit about all her hopes and efforts. Girl should have enough emotion to power the Emperor Reborn right about now.

>>Someone is speaking to them in their dreams, telling them dark prophesy that has yet to come to fruition, how do they react? Who's speaking to them?
Well Kaiger's already cursed,he's trying to murder a god and he has another one that's light weight pissed off on him. He'd probably take whatever this Dark Prophecy to heart and share it to the party. Then only listen the Bard and the paladin's advice on how to handle the situation.
>>It's love at first sight! Or rather, a smittance. Who would catch their eye and steal their heart in a casual glance?
Someone who's aroused by green men covered in blood and sweat. So probably some orc girl that didn't even notice him when he was child would his D now.
>>Ooh, that no good, how dare they! Is it hatred? No, not quite. Who's your character most envious of? Better looking? Better fighter? Smarter? what is it?
Kaiger's envious of a lot of people. He's envious of the Bard's intelligence,he's envious of his sister's skill and the praise she gets for it, and he's envious that Marijuano Blaze can sleep with any woman he damn well pleases.
>>They get to change something about themselves, what do they change? Why do they change it? Do you think they'd regret it?
He'd probably change himself to be more human. He has his orc pride but he always feels like he's look down upon because of his heritage. He's far more fascinated to the human world and would love to truly experience it but he'd probably regret it in the end. While he prefers human stories and their people for the most part what he really wants is to somehow bring both together.

Where I'm from, forces of technological bureaucracy tried to remove magic from the realm without 'licenses' or other things, trying to turn it to a common thing for even the unstudied with their technology.

I certainly keep to sticking around the dark now.

>>47915454
>Someone is speaking to them in their dreams, telling them dark prophesy that has yet to come to fruition, how do they react? Who's speaking to them?
Most likely, the being in the dream would be her adoptive daughter of before she began planar travel - and the omen would shake her a bit, especially with how she's seen people who resemble her in various other planes.
>It's love at first sight! Or rather, a smittance. Who would catch their eye and steal their heart in a casual glance?
Since the fling with a particular changeling, ponytails visually catch her eye on someone who looks distinctly (and uniquely) intelligent/strange. Though, it's hard to tell if she's smitten or just finds them curious enough to want to dissect them...
Also, scars are hella charming.
>Ooh, that no good, how dare they! Is it hatred? No, not quite. Who's your character most envious of? Better looking? Better fighter? Smarter? what is it?
It's not exactly full envy, but she is jealous of close families and the like due to her troubled parentage (a couple of criminals) - though she wouldn't tell anyone about it. At least she can act as a better parent for the kids she finds on her travels, she thinks snidely.
>They get to change something about themselves, what do they change? Why do they change it? Do you think they'd regret it?
She would likely try to chill her rather blatant obsession with pulling curious things (living, nonliving, plumbing) apart to find out how they work to less crazy levels. That or increase her bust size.

Sounds like a character I played a long while back, Aldo. A war hero, but in reality, committed genocide on unarmed civilians in a lizard folk town - think US Cavalry riding into a native village. The regret and painful memories of it caused him to desert his post. As a roaming sellsword, if confronted with his past, he often becomes rash and violent, but never against the unarmed for fear of retracing his past.

tl;dr ptsd warrior is a fun archtype to play!

• Name:
Richter Ambrose
• Role(s):
Paladin, but instead of tanking, calls on agro and focuses on dodging. Relatively squishy, but has some healing magic to make up for it
• Goals:
His god is the god of joy. He just wants everybody to be happy
• Traits:
total bro, cheerful, handyman, performer (singer and guitar player)
• Flaws:
little to no regard for his own safety, comes off strong, kirk syndrome
• Allies:
Other members of his church, random villages he's helped out, random women he's had fun with
• Enemies:
His God's reputation as the patron saint of prostitutes precedes him causing many to be weary of him at first sight, he's shut down his fair share of evil-doers just like any other adventurer
• Other Relations:
Has been with at least one of just about every species, and some less-than-humanoid ones. Never knew his parents (they were probably also members of the same church) but he doesn't let this bother him
• Physical Description:
Essentially pic related, but he's no noble. He wears rather simple clothes under a cloak bearing his symbol of faith and a bracer on each arm for deflecting light blows. The hatchet he uses as his weapon hangs from his belt, the handle of which has been carved with things marking notable events (the date his journey started, for example)

I've been wanting to design an Elven Ranger, but I've come across a little issue: How on earth does someone make such a cliche concept interesting?

A lot of this will be at coming from the character's personality and why they are a ranger. Some different spins/ideas:

-a disgraced/runaway/wanderlusting high elf that taught themselves how to survive rather than a wild elf in their element

-an earthy personality-not necessarily warm but down to earth and clearly in their element rather than cold, distant, or aloof

-play the concept as straight as possible until it starts tilting one way or another and run with it

A lot of my characters start as basic archetypes with a sliver of a backstory and get fleshed out over the campaign. Stereotypes and cliches aren't necessarily a bad thing as long as you can make it your own.

Agatha quarter size.png
627 KB, 624x860
• Name: Agatha Stitcher
• Role(s): Channeler, former exorcist
• Goals: Protect the living from the dead, protect the dead from the living.
• Traits: Due to a mishap involving a cult and her neglectful father during her early childhood, she now empathically senses spirits of the dead that drift between worlds. She once viewed this as a curse but has long since come to view it as a blessing. She doesn't know what she'd do without feeling the presence of spirits. Understandably, her local clergy recognized the potential usefulness of this talent of hers and employed her as an exorcist for some time, providing her with training and a way out of the poverty she was born into. She essentially feels the suffering of spirits of the dead when they are corrupted or bound against their will, and thus has a strong disdain for the practice of necromancy.
• Flaws: Has a tendency to be excessively merciful and forgiving. If she believes someone has been mislead and hasn't been completely corrupted by whatever power they wield, she may try to dissuade them from it rather than taking a combatant approach, even when doing so is clearly a bad idea. She feels pity for creatures she believes to have once been innocent that were warped against their will. She has a soft spot for neglected children in particular.
Additionally, she has been known to occasionally lose her sense of identity when channeling spirits of the dead too deeply or for too long.
• Allies: Although she no longer works for them, she still has some connections in the clergy that once employed her.
• Enemies: Those who would inflict suffering upon the living so as to give rise to wrathful spirits in death, and those who bind and twist disembodied spirits in the space between worlds.
• Other Relations: she also has an amicable relation with a skeletal keeper of a haunted inn, who may know more about her past than he lets on.
• Physical Description: Greyish brown hair, hazel eyes, fair skin, a plain face.

He's pretty bardly, yeah. Only thing keeping him from being one is that he doesn't have any bard skills (inspire etc)

Eyes roll whenever he starts hitting on somebody, but everybody's friends. It doesn't hurt that he's also willing to wingman

Do you think a paladin monk multiclass is at all viable?
>>
>>47929493
If your playing in 3.5 this is the prestige class to make it work. If yourvin pathfinder then speak to your GM about altering it to fit pathfinder rules.
But other then this class I would say no its not generally worth multiclassing between them.

Alright, I'll see if I can think of anything interesting. Thanks for the ideas!

>• Name:
Maellis Daeyarus
>• Role(s):
Ranger, Vagabond, Novice nature mage
>• Goals:
To kill her father, who's misuse of powerful magic turned him into a dangerous abomination.
>• Traits:
Tenacious, cautious, grudge-bearing, respectful and kind (to most). Is unusually fond of heavy drink for an elf. Distrusts mages, especially human ones.
>• Flaws:
Emotional, doesn't think before she speaks, violent, and naive towards human culture. Possesses a grisly scar stretching from the top of her right cheek down to the left side of her chin that her father gave her after he turned into an abomination.
>• Allies:
Her adventuring party, whom she sees as good friends, and all of the natural world (of course).
>• Enemies:
All who wish harm to the natural world, and mages who use magic for selfish purposes.
>• Other Relations:
While her father is a mindless abomination, she still loves him enough to want to put him out of his misery.
>• Physical Description:
Pale, lithe and fit. Her eyes are all black like most elves, and possesses straight, white hair. She possesses a grisly scar stretching from the top of her right cheek down to the left side of her chin, and on her back are a series of ornate tattoos used to identify her as a member of the nobility.

>Agatha

>Someone is speaking to them in their dreams, telling them dark prophesy that has yet to come to fruition, how do they react? Who's speaking to them?
>Who
Probably the god of death to whom the ritual that nearly claimed her life when she was a child was dedicated. She doesn't trust that god, and certainly isn't happy about their involvement in her life.
>It's love at first sight! Or rather, a smittance. Who would catch their eye and steal their heart in a casual glance?
Anyone who could impress her by doing something drastically out of the ordinary without care. She once fell for a former gladiator who did nothing but make dramatic poses on the battlefield, like something right out of Jojo and then agreed to join her side in a battle after she negotiated with him and they mutually agreed that they were only fighting for survival and had no reason to hate eachother.
>Ooh, that's no good, how dare they! Is it hatred? No, not quite. Who's your character most envious of? Better looking? Better fighter? Smarter? what is it?
Agatha isn't the viciously jealous type. Her's is usually a more quiet kind of envy, the kind held in silence from a distance. However, she was once vastly furious with a, and I quote, "demon whore" who was trying to kill the afformentioned posing gladiator to get at her.
(cont.)
>>
>>47931715

(Agatha)

(cont.)

>They get to change something about themselves, what do they change? Why do they change it? Do you think they'd regret it?
Even though she's developed an attachment to the spirits she perceives every day, she sometimes wonders what her life would be like if she had never had this connection bestowed upon her, and if she would be better off. If she lost this connection on the spot, she'd surely be mortified; she would feel deprived, the same way anyone else would if they suddenly went blind. Whether or not she would be happier if she had never attained this sense in the first place is unknown to her, however. If she never had this gift, she would have had a neglectful father and poverty to deal with, instead of unpredictable spirits around her and a strict clerical program. Which of these two burdens she would be less happy to face, she doesn't know, but she is at least content with her life as it is now. She was instructed as a kind of soldier of the faith from a young age, but her free-spirited nature prevented her from working for that group for very long.

The skeletal innkeeper was actually an invention of my DM, and she made several difficult discoveries that she was forced to come to terms with that night.
Many tears were shed.
>>
>>47931751
You mind story timing? Or at least telling a bit about the game? Sounds interesting.
>>
>>47931765
That campaign crashed and burned, as many good stories do, unfortunately, due to real-life issues that prevented the DM from continuing.

I hope to use her again in another campaign some day.

Essentially, in anticipation of a great battle (the one in which she met that Gladiator) the DM created several sidequests that each revealed something about one character's story, and hers was in a haunted inn that the party had to solve the mystery of.
Essentially, the man she thought to be her father actually wasn't, and her real family was killed in a hatecrime due to one of her family members marrying an elf. She put on a dress of one of her ancestors and experienced things that happened in the past. Turns out, the gruff and aloof innkeeper was the lingering spirit of her real father.
>>
>>47931765
Also, I have other drawings of Agatha which I think represent her a little more accurately, but I haven't scanned any of them and I can't into digital art for shit.
>>
>>47931866
Sad that the campaign crashed, but I love it when DMs put time and effort into character backstories in such a way that it advances their plot while continuing the character in a direction the player wants it to go. Did the game last long enough after that for the revelation to have any impact on things?

>Name
Doesn't have one, I wasn't that attached to him so I didn't name him.
>Role(s)
Tank, damage, berserker, intimidation tool, door maker, can opener, courier, etc etc.
>Goals
Wants to learn how to cook, wants to eat one of every creature in existence.
>Traits
Doesn't talk much, loyal, has a thing for axes of any kind.
>Flaws
Doesn't bathe often, cannibalistic, superstitious to name a few I recall easily.
>Allies
His party, his clan, an elf prince, wandering elf wizard, an officer in a trading fleet, a powerful human wizard, and some others I don't remember.
>Enemies
An invading empire, a drow high priestess he maimed, a drow clan he maimed a high priestess of, a Norse clan, several innkeepers, a goblin clan, a very angry dryad whose tree he pissed on, and lastly of the enemies of note, a mid level demon he squirted holy water onto.
>Other relations
A local fight club in a city owes him quite a bit, the crew of the boat he worked on will buy a drink for him whenever he's in town, he is a member of an order of knights he's never heard of or met, and several Norse clans treat him as an honorable warrior which has many benefits.
>Physical description
8ft tall, about 300lbs, long shaggy hair, covered in scars which he keeps covered in bodypaint to avoid scaring a city guard into attacking him, blue eyes, blonde hair when it's clean, shaggy beard, ugly as hell to humans and looks like Adonis to trolls.

Despite how much I powergamed him and minmaxed him at creation I try to play him as a quiet bystander unless my party needs help doing something, mainly because I've played games where I was overshadowed by a party member and it sucks, I try to avoid Mary sue crap, he is a cannibalistic berserker with a penchant for biting and gouging flesh, the one time I got him drawn makes him look like a Greek god.
Scored 12 on the test.

>Name: King "The Undefeated"
>Race: Human
>Weight class: Medium (barely)
>Fluff: Born an only son and heir to the throne of the kingdom of Dirk, his father was a terrible king hated by his people. At the age of 4 the crown was usurped and his father was overthrown, much to the joy of the people of the kingdom. He was placed in an orphanage, but the people's hateful stigma of his father's bloodline followed him everywhere. Several of the other orphans would give him daily beating with the adults doing nothing to stop them. When he was 15 he discovered his psionic power and after learning to control it, left the orphanage (With most of its tenants and employees black and bruised. He left Dirk and moved to a nearby kingdom where he lived as a beggar for several years. Growing up in Dirk every gaze he met was full of disdain, but here it was different, he barley met any gazes at all, people would look right passed him ignoring him completely. Maybe it was his father's blood in him, maybe it was just human nature, but he found this even more unbearable than the hatred in Dirk. He needed to be respected, he needed to be admired, he needed people to look to the top and see him standing above them. So he changed his name to King, he dared not ever use his old one anyway, and he took to the ring.

>Magic/Tech/Psionics: He has an ability he calls [Crown of the King], a psionic power that manifests as a jagged ring of energy above his head resembling a crown. When active he can control not just his own body but the bodies of those around him. This doesn't seem to be a mind effecting effect and controls the actual body itself. The power would give him absolute control but his consciousness can only effect the equivalent of one whole body at a time, so the more influence he exerts over his opponent's body, the less he has over his own, and will become slow and uncoordinated if he expends too much. The only way to gain absolute full control over their body is to lose all control over his own, which shuts down his heart and lungs until he ends the effect. The use of this power has given King his title “the undefeated” as in his many months as a newcomer he has never lost a match, although despite this, in his dozens of matches, he’s only won once. This is due to his “undefeatable” strategy, he will proceed through a match doing his very best to defeat his opponent but if he cannot, at the very moment it becomes clear he is about to lose he will take full control of his opponents body and shut it down, causing both fighters to lose consciousness simultaneously, resulting in a draw. Immediately upon resuscitation, he will demand a rematch and try again the next day. He’s risen several ranks from other fighters giving up on being able to beat him and seceding from rematches.

>Trainer: Croady Martch
An old half-orc fighter who fell from the limelight years ago. He was still good but with age setting in he couldn’t risk going down hard in a heavy match. So he fell to the lower ranks and spent his time there, mostly to keep an eye on the new blood coming in to the ring, letting them win if the showed promise. King was different, he didn’t like King, he’d gotten to his rank purely through opponents surrendering. Croady called him a cheater and sore loser, He tried to kick him out of the ring but couldn’t beat him, draw. The next day King was back, and the next day. At first Croady was impressed but quickly grew annoyed. On the tenth day he snapped and beat King within an inch of his life, breaking both an arm and a leg before King knocked them both out. The next day Croady came in and just saw him standing there, arm in a sling, leg in a cast, standing in the corner of the ring ready to fight. That’s when he understood, King didn’t get to his rank by cheating, he got there because he kept coming back when others gave up. So he did what he did best, he let the promising newcomer win. He took one good hit from this crippled man and hit the mat flat on his back, giving King his first win. After the match he resigned from boxing to be king’s full time trainer. King still hasn’t won a second watch but it’s still early in his boxing career, and with Croady’s help he gets a little closer every day. And I mean EVERY day.

Any idea why he would travel with the rest of the party?

>• Name: Deacon

>• Role(s): ardent protector, intuitive healer, reluctant blaster.

>• Goals: To reach enlightenment, reconcile with the ancestors, and spread knowledge of the true path along the way. Learning to throw a mean fireball or fly would be a bonus.

>• Traits: Calm and focused, unless distracted by a new experience, the strange habits of foreigners, or a gambling ring. Zealous. Friendly. Infectiously optimistic.

>• Flaws: Awkward and slow with many menial tasks due to a bickering, violent swarm of ancestral spirits floating around. They rarely intersect with material reality, but when they do small items get thrown about or misplaced, people are tipped off-balance, and dust gets thrown into eyes. Gambling streak ten li wide. Absolutely hopeless in the outdoors.

>• Enemies: All the other ancestral spirits, grandparents. Nothing too serious yet.

Story time. The first real battle of the campaign.
"All right. So we go in, knock out the ghoul gang members that out number us, and rescue your partner. Who is being held by a vampire."
Josh looked at Burke, his blue eyes filled with annoyance.
"Yup. That's the plan. You two said you wanted to help."
"You do remember I have no combat experience outside of a ring and disorderly drunks, right?"
"That's why you're punching them."
The cop looked bigger than before, his hair more ragged.
"Don't worry Josh, it'll be fine. Right?"
Q, who had less combat experience than both of them looked slightly worried.

The plan should have gone without a hitch. Josh had plenty of experience with drunks, and these guys were just drunk on blood. Then they noticed that jagged blades were stitched to their fingers.
"What the fuck. Why would they do that?" Josh muttered, baffled.
"So they can't get disarmed, idiot."
Burke, far more experienced with the supernatural seemed fed up with his two new "assets."
The fight went well, up to a point. That point being when Burke, annoyed by a ghoul clawing at his face, placed the barrel of his gun to its head, and pulled the trigger.
"WHAT THE FUCK BURKE! WE WEREN'T GOING TO KILL THEM!" Josh screamed, having never seen someone die.
"You weren't going kill them. I never said that. He was trying to kill me!"
Josh's face was splattered in blood, trying to process this. Q tried to calm him down.
"It was still murder."
"No, he was assaulting a cop. IN LOS ANGELES. Had it coming."
The wolf's nonchalant reaction to death was something Josh would never develop.

The villain killing Croady would be the easiest, if most cliche way, but even just having the villain publicly demean King would be enough.

So I just came up with a character concept. Seeing as I haven't played any TTRPGs in a few years and I don't see anything happening in that area for a while, I just wrote it up and will drop it in this thread, for people to do with as their will.

A young woman, who lives with her aging parents. They are not poor, but definitely not wealthy either- they live sparsely, but they are happy. She has an older brother who was drafted into the army. He is a coward, and the three of them hope that- in the year it has been since they have seen him- he has conquered his fear and become a proper man. When an officer visits their hut, telling them that the brother has deserted, they are surprised and worried. This soon pales when the officer produces the letter he left behind- he claims that he has a younger brother, almost of age, who would be happy to serve in his place. This is not true.

The woman was doing something outside when the man arrived, and neither of them saw each other. Coming back inside, she sees her worried parents and finds out the problem: if they don't manage to produce this younger brother, the father will be re-enlisted. This would leave the woman and mother unable to fully support themselves, and so they all decide that the woman pretend to be a man. The brother probably banked on that happening- she has learnt some swordplay from her father, after all, and she was always braver than him. She doesn't want to go, but still, the next day her hair has been cut and she's marching away. Steeling her will, she decides to focus on one goal to accomplish, to make this ordeal worth it: she's going to protect her country, and she is going to return to her home safe.

Nothing too fancy, nothing to restrictive, no inherent system or setting. Hopefully someone can make use of her.

>>
>>47939568
Well, Mulan chose to do it, but this concept was a character who really didn't want to do it. She's not there to bring glory to her country, she wants to just... do enough, then get home. Also I haven't seen Mulan in ages, so if that had the element of her father being at stake then the similarity is unintentional. That combined with the brother character being out there as a potential hook was what made me think "hey this is different enough perhaps someone could have fun roleplaying this",

I can see you approaching her two ways now:

When dealing with other ex-Imperials or when trying to make a point, she'd continue to wear her old uniform. Still in order but with obvious battle scars she's proud of, with maybe some of the less practical ornamentation removed. No longer standing at attention, she's confident and she'll aggressively fight for what she needs.

OR

In the field, mostly low key civilian gear with emphasis on practicality-think of a Star Wars version of an XCOM 2 basic uniform. She wouldn't be uncomfortable but very alert of her surroundings and tense.

In either case, she would have her weapons, an E-11 carbine and vibrosword, on hand and would not be afraid to show a little claw if in conversation. She'd still try to maintain her hair out of pride but in a less time-consuming style.

Thanks again, I'll be around if you have questions/want more references.

I have a great story for that, actually. She's a beast, but he didn't know.
It had been a long day. Although Josh had gotten used to the supernatural world, it still constantly threw curve balls. Some of times, the worst things were regular people, live Ashwood Abbey, who had taken his friend, now girlfriend, Sam, captive. Ashwood was not known for their kindness, but what they did to her was beyond fucked up.
Josh walked into his penthouse, ready for its usuall bustle. Q freaking out over being addicted to vampire blood; Burke wanting him to look into the past of an overly traumatic crime, or calling his girlfriend Jaws because the Abbey had her listed as a sea monster. But it was quiet.
"Babe, you home?"
Josh called out. No response.
"Must be in her room."
Josh walked towards her door, and when he opened it, he smelt salt water. He looked, and where her room should be was a seemingly endless expanse of ocean. He heard the door to his room open, Sam walked out
"Babe we need to talk."
"Josh I can expl-"
"Why is there an ocean where your bed should be?"

Oh hey, these threads are back. Neat.

>Name: Arallios
>Role: Ranger/Long-range Combatant/Negotiator/Token Different Race Character
>Goals: Proving beyond any shadow of doubt that he's both useful and can take care of himself
>Qualities: Hard-headed, goofball that has enough moments of lucidity to make people wonder if he's faking it, genuine attempts at caring for others, resourceful, damn good hugs.
>Flaws: Major moron, accidentally and intentionally insensitive, wanderlusting, naive, unlucky, inferiority complex, stuck in their own line of thinking
>Allies: Party, a spectrum of NPCs up to and including a goddess
>Enemies: Not many enemies, closest he's got are a necromancer and a vampire that both don't like him but can't be bothered to kill him
>Other Relations: Parents and grandfather adventure together, has a diplomat-for-hire uncle SOMEWHERE in the world, and a dragon friend of the family that lives in the not!Navajo Desert
>Physical Description: Fair skinned elf with long, straight brown hair, forest green eyes, and an androgynous build. Visible equipment includes a sword, a bow, a bag, and magic armor that appears as a long shirt, tough pants, and simple boots

>What literature does your OC like if any?
Being raised innawoods, he's never really partaken of books and such. I figure that he'd like simple adventure stories
>>47915454
>All that
1. Probably one of the NPCs that are known for magic, he'd probably go "great, more bad news to tell the group"
2. No one really, romance takes at least some time
3. Mages are closest
4. Getting rid of his wanderlust to keep from being a born sidequester, would regret

I don't know artist names, so I'm just going to say "slightly off-model until something serious comes up where it snaps to be more accurate"

Basically forced into it, given that living in the wilds basically requires ranger skills

>Druid has hundreds of wooden whistles, dyed and intricately carved, hanging from her clothes, the braids in her hair, the inside of her cloak, etc

I have to make a big list for all the whistles, the wood type, what they supposedly keep away/call, what the whistles look like. I'm aiming for like 100+ whistles to be detailed, gonna be a while. It started under the pretense of a meditative exercise to deal with not having control over even crucial events. Then Deacon learned some minor telekinesis and conjured a familiar, and it went downhill from there. It's all for the best, though, with the family being how they are about his calling. Besides, that's what mendicant monks do, isn't it? Shear strangers of enough money to live comfortably?

>>47915454
>Someone is speaking to them in their dreams, telling them dark prophesy that has yet to come to fruition, how do they react? Who's speaking to them?
The Master of Masters does not resort to crude visions. Therefore it's one of the ancestors angling for a cheap spook. Therefore they can fuck off.

>It's love at first sight! Or rather, a smittance. Who would catch their eye and steal their heart in a casual glance?
He admires dignity and conviction, traits he sees little of in himself, so probably some knightly type. Bonus points for exotic cultural background or ancestry. >>47910603 would work.

There is a certain type of people who walk the true path without realizing it, those who find their natural role in the cosmos and excel at it without strife or even effort. Fuck those people with a cactus.

>They get to change something about themselves, what do they change? Why do they change it? Do you think they'd regret it?

Nothing. Enlightenment is to be gained through wisdom, and wisdom accumulates with experience. Though maybe bypassing the 'experience' bit wouldn't hurt... oh wait no, it invalidated the whole process. Time to start over.

Short temper, distrustful, inconsiderate, often comes off as haughty and arrogant.

>Someone is speaking to them in their dreams, telling them dark prophesy that has yet to come to fruition, how do they react? Who's speaking to them?
Initial terror, followed by a heavy amount of introspection and thought about what was just told to her. It was a vision of her patron deity, an Archfae by the name of Relkath, warning her of the death of all things in the natural world if the elves and humans never put aside their differences to fight the bigger threat together.
>It's love at first sight! Or rather, a smittance. Who would catch their eye and steal their heart in a casual glance?
Someone who shared her devotion to peace between elvenkind and humankind, and equaled her enthusiasm about it.

Those who are better diplomats than she.

She'd likely change herself to a Half-Elf for the purpose of being able to be identified with by both humans and elves alike.

How badly do her flaws affect her position? Arrogance doesn't go well with diplomacy.
>>
>>47981241
Well, they're major reasons of why she hasn't been very successful yet. Her haughtiness simply comes from her High Elf heritage, as she was taught her whole life that her race was superior to humans. She's smart enough to realize that she's not going to get anywhere acting all high and mighty around everyone, but that mindset certainly does leak through. Often it just manifests as a somewhat patronizing tone to her voice, other times she lets an arrogant remark slip through her speech accidentally.

Its something I definitely plan to have her grow out of, eventually.

For Arallios I think that one easily falls to going into the dark hidden passage alone and getting gassed, arrowed, and explosive rune'd before using up his 1/day plane shift to survive, even though the team was needing it for a plan the next day.
He trudged to the nearest town and crashed in an alley because his foreign funds were invalid. Some street thugs came up and threatened to sell him for parts, needless to say he's had enough shit today and didn't take being roused from trance well. Destroyed one of them while the fighter and wizard poofed in and cleaned up the other two. Arallios wasn't happy with the assist, stating that even 1v3 and wounded he could have taken on three thugs just fine. Fighter didn't like his attitude and sucker-punched him for being ungrateful. Then the bard poofs in after Arallios basically telling the fighter that if he wanted him dead he should just go for it. She gives elfy a slap for being such a moron, making her worry, and not caring for his own safety. The bard then goes on to land them lodging for the night, but the conversation after the performance got on her bad side and she bailed until the next morning when the group tracked her down and Arallios apologized.
Once they all got back to base our biolog/scientist/"doctor" NPC prescribed the idiot "don't do anything" until he's healed, which he doesn't much like given his wanderlust, though he puts up with it. Later the rogue and wizard check out the trap room, using the info they got from Arallios' "scouting" to disarm the traps and get some neat swording items, so the elf thinks that he's at least a little justified in his initial actions.

Skarf Drunk Doodles page 2.png

>Name
Skarf Bjordlsonn

>Role(s)
Party pocketknife/JOAT, Scout, Meat Shield.

>Goals
1. Find a barren valley and seed it with life, far away from the rest of the world.
2. PUNCH THE MOON.

>Traits
Born(?) with ability to manipulate his own flesh into any practiced configuration.
Seemingly aloof and more-or-less "happy to be here," mostly seeking opportunities to expand his Flesh-based powers and add new and interesting physiologies to his "collection."
Constantly hungry for knowledge, especially regarding extraplanar travel and magical history.
Not really "conniving" or "sneaky and manipulative," just a genuinely friendly chap who has motives he wishes to keep private.

>Flaws
Shapeshifting powers have bred overconfidence, has gotten himself into more danger than he could handle more than once assuming he could just morph or cunning his way out.
Practically no experience with actual weapons or offensive magic.
Often aloof in critical scenarios, and unintentionally puts his own private agendas ahead of the immediate needs of the team.
Desire to fuck the moon...up...puts him at odds with Lunar cults, has made plenty of enemies in the wrong places.
Often gullible and susceptible to suggestion.
He's a fucking drunk.

>Allies
Thana, eldritch necromancer.
Vroxynn, fire mage.
Thagg-Tar, high archon of Solar church. tl;dr, went on a two-week booze-cruise and befriended a massive (NPC) orc who just so happened to be the Solar Church's Chosen One of Ultimate Destiny™. They're BFFs.

>Enemies
The Moon and related cults.
Various park rangers.

>Other Relations
Bjorndl Thorifsonn; Father; Beet Farmer; Deceased.
Aaggaataat Ajaxdottir; Mother; Beet Farmer.
Snorri, Lorri, Bjorri, and Agnes; Siblings; Beet Farmers.

>Physical Description
Depends on scenario. Default is a short dirty-blond man of medium build in his 20's.
Extremes range from near-unseeable bone-wraith to pic related.

>Someone is speaking to them in their dreams, telling them dark prophesy that has yet to come to fruition, how do they react? Who's speaking to them?
Force shenanigans? She probably wouldn't believe it or think someone is intentionally trying to goad her into doing something.
>It's love at first sight! Or rather, a smittance. Who would catch their eye and steal their heart in a casual glance?
She'll have you believe she looks for qualities similar to her ideal self-someone who's direct, able to dispense with bullshit in favor of getting things done, and has a just and rational goal for their actions. In reality, it seems she likes the unpredictable and erratic, someone who's able to let loose where she can't.
>Ooh, that no good, how dare they! Is it hatred? No, not quite. Who's your character most envious of? Better looking? Better fighter? Smarter? What is it?
She's strongly aware she's the weakest pilot out of the party, something the actual pilot goads her with until she reminds him that she's the better fighter. She's also become increasingly jaded by the Empire's bureaucracy, specifically of the people who know how to work it or were born into the system.
>They get to change something about themselves, what do they change? Why do they change it? Do you think they'd regret it?
She'd probably make herself human so advancement and dealing with the rest of the Empire would be easier. I'd think she'd regret it eventually because she cares a lot more about Cathar and their traditions than she lets on.

>What is the stupidest thing your OC has done?
Make a deal with a rogue Inquisitor.
>How did s/he fix it?
Let a group of mandalorians know where the Inquisitor was, hoping they'd kill each other.

Both parties, sadly, are still alive and somewhat aware of what she tried to do.

Kaiger's life is filled with him acting before thinking. The two biggest are probably pranking a witch doctor's shit which got him cursed or attacking a Death Knight(Challenge Level 17) when he was level 5
>>How did s/he fix it?
Well for the curse thing that's still a thing. As for the Death Knight, the majority of the party already didn't wanna deal with the Death Knight's shit so they jumped in to help Kaiger kick the fucker's ass.
>>If not, what are the consequences?
Kaiger's curse is that he person that he loves will die.
As for the Death Knight, while the group managed to hold it's own for awhile and we got him down to 30 HP. The DM had the Death Knight have a demilich on it's belt which dealt a shit ton of damage to us and restored pretty much back at full HP. We only survived because the cleric with a split personality disorder offered his soul and service in exchange that we all get to live.

Nobody told me the chest was cursed, not just like a little curse, but Fucking CURSED, everyone just avoided it without saying anything, since nobody said anything about it I walked over and popped the lid, which released a very dangerous and very angry skeleton with a ball of blue fire for a heart.
>what did I do to fix it?
I threw it out of the room, stole the monks staff and tied a knife to it, then opened the door a little and me and Mr bones had a stabbing contest, lucky for me the cleric has a waterskin full of holy water, I wedged the nozzle under the door and stomped on it, it put out the ball of fire and I stabbed it in the face, crisis averted, but I did lose 2 fingers to him in our little poking contest.

One of the guys I play with often wants to start a Mythos-heavy fantasy campaign with elements of Darkest Dungeon, so I went with a poison sorceress unknowingly marked as a Child of Yig.
>• Name:
Welsimyse Erlilarys Ushithraya
>• Role:
Damage caster, lore monkey
>• Goals:
Discover the identity of her chromatic ancestor and the link they may have had to the current influx of eldritch terrors.
>• Traits:
Reticent, calculating, contemplative, interested in acquiring magical ability.
>• Flaws:
Easily distracted and often lost in thought, distrustful of strangers, ashamed of her appearance, always tries to keep it covered, prone to keeping pivotal information to herself.
>• Physical Description:
If you were to meet her on the street, all you would see of Welsimyse is an unusually tall and thin figure in a black cloak wearing a wide-brimmed witch hat with two belts around the crown, with a thick purple scarf piled unusually high between them, blocking all view of her face save for the occasional glimpse of a yellow eye. If you were to see underneath the cloak and scarf, you would see a green dragonborn in a purple dress with a black-and-white bodice with long black sleeves, black wrist gloves, and a pair of button-up ankle boots. Welsimyse is 7 foot, 2 inches tall, with most of the extra height coming from her long, spindly limbs and neck. Her head is very reminiscent of that of a green dragon: a long, curved jawline and a crest that, due to the hat, is normally pushed down over the left side of her face. She has the "hair" usual for her kind, but most unusually, and the features that mark her as a freak among even her own kind, are a set of fangs similar to those of a venomous snake and a retractable cobra-like hood that, unbeknownst to her, bears the mark of Yig on the back, visible only while it's fully extended.
>>
>>48000392

>• Backstory:
Welsimyse was born to copper parents, so her chromatic appearance and strange birthmark were seen as a bad omen. Most in her village were suspicious of the young girl, so when, as a young adult, she displayed signs of the magics of her draconic heritage, she was exiled; forced to flee to a cabin deep in the nearby woods, where she lived for years in solitary contemplation. Recently, however, she received a vision of a strange shining polyhedral being, convincing her to go to the source of the abominations that have recently begun to infect the land, that there she would find the knowledge of her ancestor and the reason for her being. However, she cannot escape the nagging call of the Father of Serpents and the power that he promises.

If your OC was a character in Overwatch what would their abilities be? Would they be Offense, Defense, Tank, or Support?

>>
>>48002859
Damn certain that Arallios would be a sniping/support class, but he doesn't really specialize in that, or anything for that matter. Being a very all around ranger his list of skills include:
>minor healer
>battlefield trapper
>negotiator
>transmutation student
>carlos.png
>hunter gatherer
>fashion insight
>elven smartass
>dual-wielder
>big_boss_in_front_of_a_brick_wall.jpg
>animal friendship
>(non)lethal archer depending on mood
>artful dodger
>cosmetic self-disguise
Due to campaign things, he has the option to having wings, so flying around with a bow like some sort of elven cupid mix of Mercy and Hanzo would definitely be his speed. Alt-fire could be a one-third-second stun arrow instead of damaging. He has the Poison Spray cantrip which is listed for a 10ft range, so a Mei-spray tick damage/debuff would work for a short cooldown. He also has the Fog Cloud spell, so a smokescreen AoE for a long cooldown. Currently in-game his best attack is the spell Lightning Arrow, an AoE of 10ft radius, so some sort of splash damage lightning smite could be his ultimate.

Hmm, having trouble with this one. Scrapped a couple of sketches I was not happy with. Still want to do it however. Perhaps a memorable scene you would like to see done? (that aren't to complicated)

Support. His weapon would be a sling firing heavily arcing shots. Enemies hit would be slowed, allies sped up. Secondary mode would chuck his scorpion familiar from the sling at long range to slow and posion an enemy or add damage to an ally.

Abilities would be an aoe slowdown/speedup around him and short duration invisibility for himself or an ally, both in the shape of objects lobbed with the sling.

Ultimate would involve applying all the abilities at once to everyone in a medium area, without the use of props.

• Name: Boudica
• Role(s): Avenger, Religious Zealot, Sword Enthusiast
• Goals: To train her body and skills in combat, and to strengthen her bond with her deity; Kord, the god of war and storms
• Traits: Rapturous in combat, always pushing herself to show bravery and strength, brash and reckless in combat
• Flaws: Can give in to fear, and her recklessness can get her in over her head, sometimes is more vicious than needed
• Allies: Will be fast friends with anyone skilled and honourable in combat, current companions have proven themselves as capable allies as well
• Enemies: Anyone who would use their power to oppress the weak, and anyone who would send weaker people to fight for them out of cowardice
• Physical Description: Shorter, fair skinned human woman in her early 20s. Long flowing brown hair with a shock of white. Right eye is regular brown, the other is a foggy white over both the iris and pupil. Loose vestments and cloak cover up a practically strong body.

Mary Sue Score: 24-26 depending on how you interpret some of the questions

Literature: Boudica isn't particularly well read, but she does enjoy stories of battle and valour, and has read a fair share of accounts of ancient war

Friends: Boudica is not a great conversationalist. She feels a great reverence for her god and his aspects, and this can come across as alienating to others, as she doesn't care, or notice, other's lack of interest is how super strong and amazing Kord is. Another champion of Kord, or another lover of battle, would be somone she could actually talk to without boring or scaring them.

>Someone is speaking to them in their dreams
Most likely Bane, or an agent oh Bane, trying to sway her from Kord to the more evil god of War and Skill
>Who would catch their eye and steal their heart in a casual glance?
Unlikely, as she is so enrapt by thoughts of Kord, but possibly another champion of Kord, someone who is a super great fighter, or a combination thereof.
>Who's your character most envious of?
I would think the same person she would get a crush on. It would be a complex dance of admiration and jealousy, mixed with a feeling of inadiquacy when compared to someone with a better connection to her deity
>They get to change something about themselves, what do they change?
Those same insecurities may lead her to wish on a monkey paw for great strength and skill, but she would regret, because the true path to knowing Kord is working to be that strong. Duplicitous means are the path of cowards.

I always liked the Diablo comics by Francisco R. Velasco

Why did your character chose their job or class? Was it a calling? Circumstances forced them into it?
Boudica grew up on the streets of a large city, as many other children did. She was bullied and mostly hid from the other larger children, until one day, when cornered and terrified, she was struck by a bolt of lighting. She recovered with only a shock of white hair and her cloudy "storm eye"
The clerics who tended to her noted it as a sign of Kord, giving her a choice of fighting to be strong, or forever living in fear. From that day she would work to always stand up for herself, even when the odds and numbers were against her, and Kord has blessed her for her determination.

>What is the stupidest thing your OC has done?
She tried to intimidate a secret wizard into giving her a magical tattoo
>How did s/he fix it?
The party wizard had to explain to him that she was a tactless oaf, but was not actually meaning any harm

A defining character moment was early in the campaign: a mission went fubar, the party got split after a rocket went off in the middle of them and things were way more , and Korr made it back to the ship first knowing that someone had killed one of the npc crew on board and taken the other hostage. Instead of waiting on the rest of the party and letting the crew die, she drew her sword and pistol and advanced despite being nervous, wounded, and rumpled and singed from the blast earlier.

There's a couple of others, but a lot deal with other characters...
>>
Does your character dance? If so, what's their preferred style?

Sorry, I didn't think to check if you replied here and I had an idea and subsequent sketch that I am happy with and can work on. I will probably do more of my portraits so I can include some of what you suggested here anyway.

I figured that she at some point might have had some round the table meeting with some other Imperial remnants and probably got frustrated with their old fashioned bureaucratic bullshit for the last time.

Also cathar now have eyebrows because depicting emotion without them is a pain in the ass!

>>48014387
No, I like this. You're right in assuming it's happened. And with bonus eyebrows! Thank you again.

Is there a Boudica figure in her world she's named for or did you just take inspiration from ours?

I like her story so far. Are you going to try to full warrior queen it eventually?
>>
>>48011148
Probably not.

And even then,
>tfw no Frank Sinatra to foxtrot to.

He only knows the dance of death.
