Average soldier is a drug-crazed bestial wolfman/goatman/gnoll/tigerman with claws, teeth or horns, Tough hide providing DR, and usually scent or some other comparable ability
He gives them savage pig-iron weapons, shields, and sometimes chainmail scraps. They get a stipend of BloodRoot and sent on their way, harrowing into the fray.
Otheriwse, the wizard kings are doing well. Silk, jewels, and golden-bronzed jewelery. Finest sweet wine and fruits. Teleportation deployment and magically enslaved minions.

I always equip them with the lowest gear so things become more interesting so that they are always on their toes with interested faces.

Most troops possess some Kevlar or gel protection and size up well with, at least, an assault rifle equivalent. Though, it's hard to find a cluster of them without also finding at least a couple exo-framed units.
They're running a little low on supply and are thus pushed to be more aggressive than ever to "reacquire". (Which is, to be fair, their most intimidating aspect.)
Depends on which specific tribe the party faces. I've got a list of different orc combat types that come into conflict with the party. This means they can't really charge into battle the same way everytime.

I've been molesting Fate Core for the campaign to make it more tacticool while maintaining some of the system's very useful storytelling elements
My big bad uses an army of theocratic kingdom, though they don't know they are actually working for him, so pretty standard fantasy soldiers:
Infantry in chainmail armed with various combination of spears, pikes, maces, swords and shields
Archers with longbows (the nation has a big tradition of archery)
Cavalry both light (spears, lances, swords, chainmail or plate cuiraisses) and heavy (knights, lance, sword, shield, plate armor, barded horses).
Not many mages, mostly using fire spells.
Lot of priests, paladins and similar
Cult serving the villain is more secretive, they've infiltrated the ranks of the kingdom and church, so they use similar equipment, though more of them are mages, not priests.
His elite forces are demons. Some don't need or can't use equipment thanks to being non-humanoid (or non-corporeal), others use whatever they like... they aren't regular soldiers, they are individuals with different capabilities, each of them millenia old, so they don't use standardizes equipment.
It's a standardized military, so individually none of them are very powerful. But they have enough armour to survive a hit or two, and their guns deal moderate damage.
The strength comes from a platoon focusing fire on a target. Because 3d6 doesn't sound like a lot of damage until you realize there's 50 of these attacks coming at you every round.

The cannon fodder is going to end up being anyone inside the city who doesn't make a will save.

Breastplate, greaves, helmet, nice big shield, spear, and sidearm. They're professional soldiers and neither heavy armour nor proper military training are very common in the setting, so one on one they can take a novice adventurer. The real problems start when ten or so get together with some cavalry troops.

The forces of hell generally equip their soldiers with
demon tech rifles that can switch between fire, lightning and acid damage, banded mail and glaives.
These soldiers are often accompanied by demons that can act like short range heavy guns.

Captain Shawn's detachment of brigand company "the Red Corsairs"(not to be confused with 40k chassis war band) are equipped with short swords, various pole arms, cross bows, and the odd crude musket. These common men are protected by leathers or plate scraps and steel helms. Pic related
