Any advice on making a Mechanicum Legio Cybernetica army?
>>
>>47891418
You need more robots, preferably all of the robots.
>>
>>47891217
>the last model in my army

Haha, good one mate
>>
>>47891435
Does that include Domitars?
>>
>>47891418

Robots can't score, so you'll need either tech zombies or thallax for that

Alternatively just build a force built to table your opponent, then run a WE allied detachment and play as the Sarum tech priests

Take victory through blood or not at all, power demands sacrifice
>>
>>47891589
Well some armies use their compulsory squads as scoring tax, meaning that's a certain fraction of the army that isn't being used to kill the enemy, and Cybernethica has gimmicks like 24" range cybertheurgy (Thanatar Cynix with 8 plasma shots) and Scoria's pseudo-cortex primus exclusive power. So yeah, it could very much work.

>Well some armies use their compulsory squads as scoring tax

While thats certainly true for most armies, part of the Cybernetica cortex rules says that Robots can never score, regardless of their battlefield role, so its entirely possible to have a legio cybernetica army that cannot hold points
>>
>>47891755
I meant it as "this legion harmy has 300 pts of taxicals, while this Cybernethica army, knowing their robots can't score, doesn't even care and invested 325 pts into five Voraxii that have S6 AP2 at I5 to kill those marines".

And then Scoria makes a WHOLE squad of those guys reroll ones to hit, +1 to charge range (which fleet can reroll) and I6, because "fuck you, I'm Scoria".

But some armies, like the Cybernethica themselves may forfeit their scoring capabilities for balls out power, like the WE's Inductii tacticals (100 attacks on the charge.)

Played a bunch of 40k during the weekend, brought my HH World Eaters and finally got to play a few games with them after spending the last few months building and assembling them.

Angron was awesome. Over the weekend and a few Apoc games his kill count was:
1 Stompa
1 Eldar Scorpion Tank
1 Avatar of Khaine
1 Warboss
1 DE Succubus and Incubi squad
1 Keeper of Secrets
1 Riptide
1 Old one eye

Overall love him and my world eaters, getting hatred is just so freaking useful on my squads, especially my terminators as WS 5 hatred sarges with powerfists are especially dangerous and catch my opponents of guard a lot, fnp from apothecaries gives my tactical squads some nice survivability and contemptor dreads are love and life.

Overall 10/10 would rage again...
>>
>>47892080
Do people now refuse to play you because '30k is OP'?

>>
>>47892143
No, in fact my playgroup firmly understands that 30k is kinda underpowered when fighting 40k. HH only comes into its own in mega battles and higher point games and they all know that my WE only really have a chance at anything over 1850, so if I'm playing 1500 or less its me having the under powered force and the tables turn.

Basically its a give or take for the playgroup. Its fully painted and fluffy out the ass so there really isnt much to complain about on that front. The only thing they dont really like is taking 2-3 Ceremite land raiders every game so I switch between more dreads, flyers, or drop pods with my tacticals to mix things up. While I win games its usually a blood bath for both sides and KP games get pretty high on both sides, so it feels like shit is happening so no one really objects.

The only guy that complained was the guy trying to play HH Iron Hands in 40k as he was getting his ass kicked by demons, I think he was alittle salty though.

>>
>>47893071
I dont think so, the Imperial Army isnt some uniform group of soldiers, the army is still revolving around each planet giving entire armies to the crusade in the same manner as the Imperial Guard deals with regiments the difference being each army can be an independent entity and work on its own instead of having to be a regiment in an army. In that regard I think the Militia list is good enough to represent that and FW should just focus on giving it more provenances to fit a theme, like one for Tallarn that makes Leman Russes non-scoring troops.
>>
>>47893118
Militarum tempestus is a weird concept to begin with, It would be like chaos chosen or space marine veterans getting their own army, but Solar Auxilia just came out of nowhere and now get a fair amount of focus in the black books.

Precisely.
I hope they get updated as, currently, the supposed "hosts of the Imperium" can be outnumbered by the "few and elite" SA, as they can bring 180 dudes as troops with 9 Dracosan DTs (or nine Aegis lines that don't use a Fortification slot), as well as three superheavies as regular Heavy choices, plus another two as a LoW choice and a proper Fortification detachment.

Try outnumbering that shit.

In my hobby group almost all of us have made the switch over to playing HH. Only Tau players and one brave Dark Eldar/Tempestus player remains in the 41st millenium.

Our general consensus is that 30k is above average when it comes to power level. Mechanicus and Solar Auxillia are pretty good and the legion crusade list is solid with the legion rules ratcheting the power level anywhere from slightly to largely.

Basically 30k doesn't hold a candle to Tau/Eldar/Gravmarines

But is superior to things like IG, Blood Angels, or Grey Knights.

Also, don't fight Dark Eldar at low points values. It's a bad time for legion armies.

imo, 1500 works well without Lords of War, but a lot of people think that's too little.

2500 with Lords of War is great, and 3000 is not uncommon in larger events (so it's a good long-term goal).

2000 is a little awkward - primarchs and super-heavies can be too dominant, too hard to counter. But without them, it's just a biggish game with normal units.

Against 40k? I would honestly say 2.5 k. 2k is fine but it makes fielding the more fun units possible while maintaining some degree of balance. Beyond 2.5k 30k armies begin to surpass their 40k equivalents simply due to the scale of their equipment and initial unit point costs (can now field full sized units, can start investing points into specialized dreadnoughts or legion special units).

>>
>>47895848
Normal missions usually just devolve into "kill everything" for 4 turns and 1-3 turns of "camp the objective", which isn't very tactically interesting.

Maelstrom missions incentivize board control and flexibility, and introduce risk/reward choices of "should I try to achieve this objective but give up my position?", "should my aggressive unit hang back to score X points or is their killing power needed to win in the long run?" etc.
Granted, this is assuming you use house rules to counteract the random nature of cards, such as being able to instantly discard and re-draw impossible objectives, D3 points = 2 points and objectives being worth 1-3 points at the end of the game (my group has been trying out different values we but haven't reached a conclusion yet).

That said, the AoD system of only Troops and Implacable Advance scoring is a lot more interesting than everything scoring and some things optionally super-scoring, since Troops, Terminators, Veterans etc. become much more valuable when list building.
I haven't tried AoD scoring in Maelstrom missions yet, it's theoretically the most fun IMO but it may also become too hard to actually achieve some cards.

One of the AoD game types requires you to hold objectives on a turn by turn basis. Each objective held at the end of a turn generates a VP or something along those lines. I like that mission because it meets Maelstrom halfway, in that it emphasizes board control and flexibility but also doesn't really need house rules to get rid of the unnecessary R&G

Probably because Blackshields are actually hard to pull off properly, on a modelism point of view. Every model is supposed to have its individuality, it's closer in its organisation to a chaos warband than a nice orderly SM chapter.

That, and having black as your base color make it hard to pop out in the middle of DA, IH, some of the SoH, RG and Destroyers of any legion.
The art itself is a proof of that, Blackshield get their individuality from small nuances like almost not discernable glyphs on the armor, or fine weathering.
If you're not actually good at painting and making each model different from the other, you just end up with an army of black primed dudes.
>>
>>47897169
Yes, they revive him (I think Fulgrim asks Fabius to). It was fate - here's Google's definition of "eidolon":

Contemptor Dreadnought (The one that comes in the calth box) - 175 pts (unsure, there are a few models and I don't know what type it is)
Legion Terminator Squad (vanilla, I haven't added anything extra) - 175 pts

Troops - 755 pts
2x Legion tactical squad 150 pts each
1x Phalanx warder Squad w/ land raider proteus - 455 pts

Heavy support
Legion vindicator tank 120 pts

Im using "The Stone Gauntlet" as my rite of war, the tool I used to put it together says that a few things aren't valid.

1) says too many troop selections
2) too many elites
3) can't have phalanx warder squad

I'm not sure what they mean. Anyone have any criticism or ideas?

Oh, and I just cut down a piece of greenstuff to fit, then used the back of an exacto knife to made indentions in parallel lines. To finish I cut away the excess.
Took several tries, but mine didn't turn out nearly as nice as that one.

I should mention everything is vanilla, I haven't upgraded any weapons or anything yet

First off, read the rulebooks, dont base your knowledge on what a program tells you. The computer isnt your boss.

Second, that army list doesnt use the RoW to its full extent, the point of the Stone Gauntlet is to have a wall of T5 bodies with shields and youre just not making the most of the bonuses. You are better off using another RoW or none at all in which case look at the different FoCs for more options.

A single Vindicator isnt going to do shit except eat anti-tank and be dead, get another or scrap the points, the list is all over the place with no real focus, if you want stone gauntlet get more breachers.

Also, if you dont have a dedicated close combat unit to pair Sigi with then drop him for a generic praetor or Polux, Sigi doesnt give you shit except being a beat stick which is nice but you need to focus on that and kind of build the army list around him whereas Polux gives you options and boosts whatever army list you have.

If you're using Battlescribe, make sure you're using an Age of Darkness force, sounds like you listed it in an Allied Detachment or something. Also you can select the Rite of War on your HQ, so click on Sigismund and select Stone Gauntlet.

not all of it, working on a dreadclaw, kharybis and lightning
>>

>Battlescribe
I sigh dissapointedly whenever I see someone use that instead of good ol pen/paper, or even a note function such as Word.

Anyways, listen to >>47898827 and >>47898839.
>>
>>47898839
Yes that is the program I am using.
And yes I used allied detachment, I didn't really know what it meant.

Thanks!
>>
>>47898885
The reason I did is because I don't have the depth to know where the point lists are.

I started out on pen and paper and realized "Wait, what kind of land raider is this? What kind of dreadnought is this? What type of troop are my warders?"

Like I said I'm so new I haven't even played 40k

2500 point army I'm working on at the moment. Still want to paint in details and base with Martian Ironearth before the weekend. Also thinking of replacing the land raider with a dreadclaw...

I have the extermination rulebook and am currently reading it, it's just really big.

As for the vindicator, I just included it because that is what I have.

Ideally I want a force that is extremely defensive. I have sigismund as a gift.

Sweet quads, anon.

>>47898915
Nah, it's cool. I just prefer to go old school like that and go back and forth. Might be a tad bit more tedious, but I find it's easier to learn that way. Whatever works for you is what you should stick with, anon.
>>
>>47898945
My first dubs are quads, it is a sign from the primarch!

I've found that I enjoy the fluff and painting a lot, so I want to take the time to make my force something I will enjoy playing, not just win because it is overpowered.
>>
So has Crusade Imperialis added anything to the militia and cults list?
>>
>>47898973
Indeed! A sign from Angron! Now go enjoy your Khornate quads, anon.

Glad you love painting and fluff. One of the reasons I love 30/40k myself, honestly.

When do the World Eaters go full blood/brass and abandon their white/blue entirely? When did the Thousand Sons change to Tzeentchian gold/blue?

After the heresy, iirc.

WE went from White and Blue to White and Red/Blood late heresy, though.

Have we seen the special rules for the Praetor this weekend yet?

>When did the Thousand Sons change to Tzeentchian gold/blue?

Im willing to bet that FW is going to make the blue scheme be the colors of an elite sect within the legion, like the equivalent of Templar Brethren/Reavers that follow Ahriman and stick with him after the burning of Prospero. The survivors of the rubric would probably adopt that scheme as a symbol of their newfound power, like saying that they're all part of this elite group now that only the strongest survived.

Here's Ahriman and co heading to Terra aboard the Vengeful Spirit.

Best piece of 30/40k art next to the classic Emp vs Horus one
>>
is a 5 man Heavy Support Squad with Heavy Bolters just a total waste of time at 2500 points?
>>
>>47899449
Abaddon really didn't like leaving Horus's side, did he?

That's not Ahriman.

That's Amon, you twit.
