New Bulletin Edition
Imperial Fistitution Sub-Edition
In the last thread the evil of trees was mentioned, FW has a new bulletin up, morning sickness is a beaut ain't it, a newbie asked if BaC was a good starting point, discussion on the new fluff about the legions happened, we saw an AdMech conversion, there was talk on ADB's odd balls and much more in the old bread >>47848427

Do you have an airbrush?
If yes, the usual recipe:
Start with the metal
- Prime black
- Base with a dark metal of your choice (Vallejo Model Air Gunmetal, Black Metal, etc.)
- Zenithal highlight of a medium metal
- Very careful highlight of a light metal
Pick your poison for the clear hue
- Mix 1:1 clear green with tamiya thinner and apply from top like the light metal highlight, or do a zig zag pattern, or whatever you fancy.
- Mix 1:1 clear blue, do complete coats.
- Repeat the blue till you are happy. Or do the blue first then the green. Or skip the green. Or add some violet in there. Or whatever you want, have fun.
If you don't have an airbrush:
- God have mercy upon your soul.
>>47880412
Well shit wish me luck then.
Is it really impossible to achieve it without an airbrush? Brush strokes become way too visible?
>>47880412
>>47880445
I was hoping to do like pic related. Would the first step be impossible to achieve smoothly by brush?
>>47880181
Will we ever see the Defilotron's origin? It's these guys, right? These guys are maybe my favorite model ever.
>>47880338
But Phil Collins even sounds like Lorgar, not to mention the looks.
>>47880445
Given the standard image for How 2 Painting Alpha Legion apparently doesn't involve an airbrush, you might be okay.
>>47880504
That's one of the ugliest models GW has ever done.
>>47880490
If you use the metallic paint you should be alright actually. Practice a few times.
If I remember, the poster from B&C doesn't use an airbrush.
>>47880507
Naaaah Lorgar is meant to be young, with a skin more bronze than white, and a thinner face, oval, not completely round.

>>47880523
Hahaha I fucking wish, I actually tried that technique, it didn't worked out at all for me.
Metal was never the right colour. At first too silver, and when I got to a proper blue tint, the colour was still not uniform and too thick because of the half dozen or so blue glazes that were required.
I genuinely don't know how that anon got such a good result.
>>47880400
Not sure if I should post in the new or old thread.
I actually bought the extermination (sp?) book and was looking at these guys. Currently drooling over all the fists art.
Is it just a tactical marine with different weapons? I kind of look forward to different paint schemes.
I really like shields.

40k-style Land Raiders were supposedly just starting to enter construction as the Heresy began, and would have been more common by the Siege of Terra – the Fists’ biggest battle of all. Just use them as Land Raider Phobos, which come in two looks but are functionally the same. Mark VII tactical power armor was out by then, too. That battle would have actually looked a lot like 40k, at least according to the old fluff. We’ll see what FW decides to do. (The Emperor’s Children and World Eaters might be in their 40k colors by then.)
Breachers are expensive in terms of money, and there aren’t separate upgrade kits you can combine with tactical marine minis (even though they’re basically Mk III tac marines with shields). The arms wouldn’t work, I’m guessing. A lot of people are hoping that plastic breachers will be in the next Betrayal at Calth-like box this fall, but it isn’t 100% confirmed. If money’s an issue, wait and pray.
The Eye of Horus podcast had a good episode on Imperial Fists.
>>47880593
Breachers are cool - they look great and have lots of options - unlike 30k tacticals they can take special equipment, and their DT option is a Land Raider.
The problem is that they are expensive as fuck - much like Assault marines, someone got the numbers wrong, and while there's hope for correction, for the moment they remain cool but impractically costly (though if you play ZM they rock, apparently)
Imperial Fists love shields, of all sorts (they're one of only two legions to get storm shields) - if they form up with them, they get tougher and better.
They also have a unique unit equipped with shields, but this somewhat overshadowed by one of the other unique units that are also shieldmarines
>>47880790
>there aren’t separate upgrade kits you can combine with tactical marine minis
https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/Space-Marine-Boarding-Assault-Upgrade-Set
Not to mention that Phalanx Warders and Templar Brethren are both upgrade kits as well... good job the Fists are the legion most able to have Mk VII, I guess (not going to lie, it's a little lame they don't have any full kit units)
>>47880233
I love Magnus so much. He's a mess.

Oh that would be perfect, a podcast I could listen to on crunch. Do you have a link or is it just "eye of horus" podcast?

What do you mean by numbers are wrong? What is "special equipment"?

>mfw people try to tell me they won't make the marines look like stumpy retards
>>47880884
if you want to run breachers with IF run stone gauntlet right of war to give them all T5. its about the only way to make breachers useful.
the problem with breahers is that the units cost too many points, 250 points for 10 of them base, compared to 150 for tactical marines. and the only transports they can take are landraiders, which are also overcosted points-wise.
>>47880967
what does "stone gauntlet right of war to give them all T5" mean?
How important are transports? The only one I have is a 40k land raider.

Tamiya's acrylics are designed for airbrushing and need to be diluted with rubbing alcohol, not water. I wouldn't brush them. A good finish isn't impossible with other acrylics, it just might take an extra coat or two.
>>47880299
>wet with excitement
Dangling for Dorn. Fappin' for the Fists. Ready for a reaming from Rogal.
>>47880274
My vote is for Kevin Spacey to play Lorgar. Or maybe Erebus.
>>47881000
>what does "stone gauntlet right of war to give them all T5" mean?
when you build a list, if you take a HQ who has master of the legion you get a rite of war, its kind of like chapter tactics. the IF have one called stone gauntlet where all models who have shields get +1 toughness.
transports are important because people take thudd guns and various tanks that can easily infantry on foot
>>47881030
Standing thick > standing noodle > squatting noodle > squatting thick
Not too sure on the last two. Noodle thighs or not, the walking FW legs are way better than the squatting GW ones. The GW walking ones like in the HQs and assault marine box are the best though.
>>47881048
Ah shit. Thanks for warning me. I'll try to see what I can do, but I'll get my mind on a back up plan then.
>>47881066
Ahh okay. I have sigismund as the guy I have planned to be my HQ. Would that mean breachers would be a bad idea?
From what I recall, if an enemy warmaster goes down he buffs my whole army

>>47881161
this 2bh
>>47881149
>I have sigismund as the guy I have planned to be my HQ. Would that mean breachers would be a bad idea?
nope. sigismund is always a good idea, hes probably the best non primarch character in the game. he can take the stone gauntlet rite of war, he just doesnt get +1 toughness, which he doesnt need anyway since he has eternal warrior.
basically a stone gauntlet list would want to focus on breachers and terminators with stormshields. add in whatever vehicles and other stuff you want.
>>47880884
>What do you mean by numbers are wrong?
A minimum breacher squad, naked, is half again as expensive as a naked minimum tactical squad, and is not particularly points-efficient
When I say more options, I mean things like Meltas and Flamers - 1 in 5 can take them, whereas a tactical squad is all bolters.
They can also take melta bombs and breaching charges and things
This is nice, but it adds to their already-expensive cost.
Overall, it's a nice unit that's just a bit too expensive for what it does most of the time
As >>47880967 points out, if anyone can make Breachers work, it's the Fists - with an HQ that has Master of the Legion you can take an option that limits your list but boosts your army, for the Fists one of their Rites of War includes (but has more than) the following:
>Resolve of Stone:
Anyone with either a Boarding Shield or Storm Shield in coherency with two other models which also have shields gains +1 Toughness. This bonus can't be used if the unit the model is part of runs, charges, or makes a Sweeping Advance.
>Shield Charge:
A model which fits the criteria for Resolve of Stone also gains Hammer of Wrath. Useful for your TH/SS Terminators. With your Breachers and Phalanx, you should enjoy your T5 Resolve of Stone and let the enemy charge be minced in Overwatch. Don't forget that Breacher Hardened Armour has a -1" charge penalty, so only charge with them if you really need to.
Breacher Squads are the only permitted compulsory troops
With a few other things. Basically it's shield love
>>47881000
Every legion has its own special Adeptus Astartes (insert legion here) special rule. On top of that, there are Rites of War (RoW) you can take that give your army a boost. There are a few general ones, like if you want to take Predator tanks as troops, and every legion has a couple as well. Stone Gauntlet is an Imperial Fist-specific RoW. It should be somewhere in the Extermination book. These guys go into it: http://agalaxyinflames.[b l o g s p o t].com/2015/09/imperial-fists-tactics-rite-of-warstone.html (4chan has something against that site, so fix the URL yourself)
You'll need some mobility. Obviously the guys behind the wall can stay there, but you'll probably need more than just one Land Raider. Spartans are very popular, especially upgraded with survivability mods (Flare Shield) and carrying a death star unit. Mostly because Land Raiders can't carry a full squad if it has a character attached, which is annoying.
>>47880294
>Bale Rane knew that death would probably hurt. War would probably hurt. Breaking up with your brand new bride and leaving her to go off to war, that would hurt too. Like a bastard.
>He never, ever, in a million light years, expected treachery to hurt so much.
Why do people think ADB is actually better than Abnett again?
>>47881222
Do Fists get their bolter bonus as part of their Adeptus Astartes special rule, or is that a different RoW?
>>47881210
Alrighty cool.
The kits I have are for a warder squad, templar squad, and the rest are tactical.
>>47881222
I guess there are a few terms I need to memorize for this to make sense.
>>47881228
What is a death star unit? Is that a nickname for something?
>>47881261
ADB doesn't run out of pages and rush his endings EVERY SINGLE TIME.
>>47881267
its their adeptus astartes rule, so they get that in addition to whatever.
>>47881120
Thick > Noodle. There is no variance here.

>>47881286
This guy.
>literally had to publish a separate novella for all the shit they had to cut out of First Heretic
>all his HH novels and shorts have literally all ended in a similar manner
>>47881261
Personnally speaking, I just love the way ADB writes. I believe he has the most fitting style for 40k. It goes to the point where I might not like the content, but the form is so damn good that it is still pretty enjoyable.
Abnett is too descriptive imo.
>>47881280
If it's big(ish), it's horrifically powerful, enormously expensive, and (potentially) has a glaring weak spot, that's a Death Star - basically you sink a lot of points into one unit (primarch + escorts are notorious), and in theory it'll be nigh unavailable and hugely dangerous, but if you kill the transport or drop a lot of templates then that very expensive unit could well end up doing very little.
The cost of a transport is included, but may be something of a catch 22
>>47881348
The similar manner being? Just curious here.
>>47881372
>nigh unavailable
Fucking spellcheck + drinking, I meant nigh unkillable
So I've decided to fluff out Quid Fornax some more. The regular civilians live in towns that wouldn't be too different from towns in Alaska, and wear heavy fur coats over the love child resulting from a druken three way between flak armor, what Scions wear, and what SA wear. In ages past they would race against each other on their snow mobiles, but the races became more dangerous and illegal modifications to their snow mobiles. The tech priests don't interfere with the local settlements too much, but seeing such tech heresies started to make the Cogboys tighten their control over the settlements. Eventually the races ceased to exist, and the local tech priests loosened their control over the locals.
There are cities but they are more akin to fortresses that house men and women that are a step below Skitarii, and worship the Machine God. They look down upon the normal locals and view them as hicks that are only worth murdering Orks, and rarely allow them into their city fortresses. The actual Skitarii and these guys deal with the Necrons who thaw out and other thinking machines that free themselves from their icy prisons. They normal locals share the resentment towards them. The actual Skitarii are indifferent towards their stalkers from the city fortresses.
The local Feral Orks are Orks who do Orky things. They've been on the planet since the Old Night, and don't seem to be leaving anytime soon. The normal locals deal with them, but the Not!Skitarii and the real Skitarri will deal with them if there's a WAAGGGH large enough to warrant their attention. Their bikes would often race the locals in their snow mobile races sometimes welcomed but mostly unwelcome. They are hunted down by the normal locals to gain favor from the tech priests who need Ork corpses to power their factories.

What did each of the legions do with their Librarians? Does the FW canon differ from the HH novels in any way in regards to Nikaea, or has that been avoided thus far?
I know the Space Wolves and Thousand Sons both ignored Nikaea, the Blood and Dark Angels both just folded their librarians back into the line companies, and that the Imperial Fists imprisoned and sequestered their Librarians.
>>47881750
well considering the 'chaos did nothing wrong' cuck ADB is writing it...
>>47881750
The most likely outcome will be that BL ignores what a massive fuckup they've portrayed the Emperor as, so the end result will try to make the Emperor look completely justified/tragic while really just looking like an incompetent moron with absolutely zero interpersonal skills.

With Abnett you get hundreds of pages of intricate detail and world-building. For example, Titanicus had a story arc on the side about a shop keeper who is implied to have been a titan crewmember, mind-wiped as part of his retirement. Didn’t add anything to the plot, just added to the setting. Which was a nice touch… but then suddenly I realize I’m 90% through the book, the final battle is only starting, and there are five or six character threads that are still open.
The last 10% doesn’t get the same level of detail. Not even close. The good guys win, this character goes home, that character vanishes into the desert, a huge disagreement between allies built up over several chapters gets defused in two pages, everythingsgreatandtheresnomorespaceTHEEND.
Know No Fear wasn’t too different.
He gets us really invested in the characters and then skimps on the denouement.
>>47880274
I kinda want a movie/tv show but I also know that they would fuck it up and do something retarded like make half the legions women
>>47881754
FW hasn't really gotten into it. Inferno (the next book) will be the right place for it.
Betrayer goes into the World Eaters' experience. They ignored Nikaea, but they already hated their Librarians because a) they couldn't receive the Butcher's Nails without dying and/or making a big mess, weirdboy-style (so they stopped recruiting new ones), and b) whenever a Librarian gets near a World Eater (including Angron), it triggers their Nails and hurts.

Why does ADB have such issues with the Emperor? That scene with him in the Abaddon book was fucking cringe.
>‘WE ARE CURIOUS,’ came a mighty, anguished thought which itself transcended time.
>‘WE HAVE FOLLOWED YOUR INTRUSION INTO OUR SANCTUARY, OUR ANTRUM AND ADYTUM.’
‘My lord.’ Jaq sank to his knees. ‘I beg to report to you before I am destroyed. I may have uncovered a major conspiracy—’
>‘THEN WE WILL STRIP YOUR SOUL BARE. RELAX, MORTAL MAN, OR YOU WILL SURELY DIE IN SUCH PAIN AS WE ALWAYS ENDURE.’
Jaq breathed deeply, slowly, stilling the panic that fluttered under his ribs like a trapped bird. He surrendered himself. A hurricane roared through his mind.
If the story that he had thought to relate were a tangled forest – and if each event in that story were a tree – then within moments all the leaves were stripped away from all of the trees, denuding them to bare wintry twigs, to a raw basic life without the foliage of memories.
He was drained of his story; that was sucked from him in a trice, all of those leaves whirling into the mind-maw of the Master. Jaq gagged. Jaq drooled.
He was an imbecile, less than an imbecile.
He was less than a new-born baby.
He neither knew where he was, nor who he was – nor what it even meant to be a someone.
The inquisitor sprawled. All that was known to his body was distress, the gurglings of the guts, breath and light. Light from afar.
ABRUPTLY, ALL MEMORY flooded back. On that instant, each leaf sprouted anew to recloak the forest of his life.
>‘WE HAVE PUT BACK WHAT WE TOOK AND TASTED, INQUISITOR’
Trembling, Jaq regained his kneeling posture and wiped his lips and chin. The previous moments were a hideous limbo, unknowable, immeasurable. He was Jaq Draco again.
>‘WE ARE MANY, INQUISITOR.’ The voice boomed in his mind almost gently – if gently was how an avalanche would sweep away a doomed village, if gently was how a scalpel might strip a life to the bare aching bones.
>>47881954
The only issue with this is that some of the Emperor's actions are flat-out indefensible. Pretty much everything about Angron for example.
>>47881999
>‘HOW ELSE COULD WE ADMINISTER OUR IMPERIUM—’
>‘AS WELL AS WINNOW THE WARP—’
>‘HOW ELSE?’
The Emperor’s mind-voice, if that truly was what it was, had dissociated into several voices, as if his great undying soul co-existed in fragments that barely hung together.
>‘SO DOES THE HYDRA THREATEN US?’
>‘IMPERILLING OUR GREAT AND AWFUL PLAN TO STEER HUMANITY?’
>‘DID WE OURSELVES DEVISE THE HYDRA?’
>‘PERHAPS IN A PART OF US, SINCE THIS HYDRA PROMISES A PATH?’
>‘SURELY A MALEVOLENT PATH; FOR HOW COULD HUMANITY EVER FREE ITSELF?’
>‘THEN WE MUST BE MALEVOLENT TOO. FOR WE HAVE EXPELLED OUR SENTIMENTALITY LONG AGO. HOW ELSE COULD WE HAVE ENDURED? HOW ELSE COULD WE HAVE IMPOSED OUR RULE?’
>‘YET BY VIRTUE OF THAT WE ARE PURE AND UNCONTAMINATED BY WEAKNESS. WE ARE GRIM SALVATION

All about that incidence has been from the lobotimized retard's PoV, his brutish sons, or his lickspittle brother. We haven't given the Emperor a chance to defend himself.

>‘NOTHING THAT SAFEGUARDS HUMANITY CAN BE EVIL, NOT EVEN THE MOST STRENUOUS INHUMANITY. IF THE HUMAN RACE FAILS, IT HAS FAILED FOREVER.’

Nigga kept too much secrets that ended up biting him in the ass, as well as fucking up the imperium and transforming him into what he SUPPOSEDLY didn't want to be:
A God.
Given how he's a collective mind and the vessel of all the old shamans, and one of the few beings that fully mastered his psyker powers, I find it difficult to believe that he doesn't have Precognition powers and didn't know what was going to happen.
I mean, who do you think Curze got his prophetic dreams from?
But I better stop before the headcannon seeps in.
Trying to make sense of this timeline here, and Aurelian is part of the line for The First Heretic. Does First Heretic like, take a big detour and Aurelian fills in the gap? Did Aurelian get rolled into First Heretic? Which should I read first? Fucking Aurelian is e-pub or bust it seems, which sucks, but whatever.
And looking at that, Lorgar is already corrupted by the time Alpharius shows up. That's interesting, to say the least.

I don't think he has much flesh left on him in modern art. Now that I think about it I'm willing to wager that if Ordo Hydra shows up they'd be Cabal related.

Aurelian is basically two parts; one part happens when Lorgar goes into the eye of terror and the second one after Isstvan V.
So read it after

Where were you when based Emperor played Lorgar and the four fuckups like chumps?
So I remember reading somewhere that Mark of Calth was supposed to be the halfway point of the lines of novels that will be released for the Heresy, which was ten novels ago. Does this mean that the Horus Heresy is almost over as far as BL is concerned? Will Forgeworld take up the torch and keep making red books? I, for one, hope they do. They make the battles seem interesting rather than pointless wastes of time.
>>47882103
>But you're going to die.
>I know, said the Emperor.
>>47882074
Woah, woah, woah. Are you saying the Calth story is an allegory for... Independence Day?
>>47882200
Nope, they said that the ideal length for the heresy is 50-60 novels.
Plus they're already getting to the end, what with the white scars on Terra, Imperium Secundus over, and the Alpha Legion already breaching the Solar system
As I read more and more of the HH books I get the sense that the emperor was/is an idiot.
>Does not explain nikaea reasons to Magnus nor why he left the crusade to any of the primarchs . No doubt many of the primarchs who turned would have not done so if they held said information.

>>47882200
They’re getting there. The White Scars have made it back to Terra (or at least close to it). We’ve seen the cover of a future book that has the Alpha Legion attacking Imperial Fist ships in the Solar System. 12-15 more novels should cover it. Of course they won’t stop there, the Scouring and the subsequent years in which the remaining loyalist primarchs die (sort of) or vanish will probably still get books.
>>47882151
>Someone saved the my screencap

>>47882244
The writers don't know how to portray the Emperor, or rather they can't agree on how to portray him. But it seems like a jerky douchenoozle is now the "proper way" to do it.
>>47882244
>Does not explain nikaea reasons to Magnus nor why he left the crusade to any of the primarchs . No doubt many of the primarchs who turned would have not done so if they held said information.
He knows his sons are idiots who will most likely be corrupted by Chaos if he told them about it.
>Despise embedding custodes with the legions he has no clue as to Erebus subverting the chain of command of the other legions via the lodges.
Got it wrong. Only the WB get the custodes, while the rest get SW packs but only after Magnus goes rogue
>Fails to see that Mars will turn and is not capable of preventing it. These all happens under his very nose
Not necessarily, not to mention that Mars was a close run thing
>He experiments with the webway right on Earth instead of a backwater world until he is sure he has the thing under control thus risking all he has achieved for humanity in all those thousands of years by risking only administrating center of his empire
Please read all of the books before making dumb comments like this one, Path to Heaven very clearly answers your question: he had a multitude of worlds where he did the experimentation and they were all successes, so he decided to do a life run
I hope they keep the whole Horus begging Emps to kill him thing. It's so sad.
>>47882048
Sure, maybe everything we know about Angron and the Emperor's initial meeting is a lie. Maybe that bit of the story will turn out to be totally justified as far as the Emperor is concerned.
Leaving a mentally damaged and unstable godling in charge of a legion of post-human killing machines and giving him free reign to do whatever he wants with themwhich for quite a while turn out to be tearing them limb from limb whenever they try to interact with him? That's just fucking stupid.
>>47882244
Maybe you should stop reading HH books. They're retarded. They make Guilliman into a retarded asshole for no reason, make the NLs into heroes, and do all sorts of other stupid, completely out-of-character and nonsensical things.
>>47882336
You right. Who do you think will get the honour of writing the Siege? Will they give it to someone that can write, like Guy Haley, or will Abnett get another chance to put some un-needed and unasked for SUPER SCERET LORE in there.
You know what, know that I've said it out loud, I wouldn't doubt it if Abnett wrote the Siege, and had the Cabal mucking about in the Palace, or be the ones that drop Horus' shields instead of the Big Bad doing it himself.
>>47882346
>He knows his sons are idiots who will most likely be corrupted by Chaos if he told them about it.
So, if you are ignorant about chaos you get corrupted, and if you are aware of it you get corrupted as well?
It's like the galaxy asks man to give himself to chaos. Fuck chaos.
/HHG/, how would prevent the primarchs from getting corrupted while acting on the knowledge you are supposed to have (and to lack)?
As in, you can't go with the obvious answer of "gas Erebus and Kor" because you don't know they're assholes. You just feel them to be assholes, and that's not enough evidence to execute them.

I think only the Emprah would have been able to remove them (He had sent Malcador and the best medicae to analyze them, and concluded the removal would kill Angron). And when Emps tele-kidnapped Angron he showed that He wanted Angron alive at any cost, even if he didn't like it. Or Him. Especially Him.

YES PLEASE.
What you wrote led me to think: Mortarion was the Emperor's Endurance, while Perturabo was his Breaker. And we don't know any of the Primarchs' true names.
I somehow feel Mortarion's true name is "Perturabo" (the one who endures), and Perturabo's would mean "the one who destroys". So, Morta-something?
>>47882791
In all the HH novels they're described as having blue. Otherwise they just look like Blood Angel clones.
>>47882429
Recognize that Psykers are simultaneously the most threatened by Chaos corruption but also the best suited for combating it. Every legion task force gets a contingent of Thousand Sons and Space Wolves whose job it is to handle irregular events.
In general start breaking the legions up a bit more and forcing them to mix it up with their brothers/cousins. Lorgar wants to be a philosopher? Fine, let him and his legion play at being iterators and just have them serve attached to the more militant legions. Alpha Legion wants to be super sneaky and tricksy? Fine, but they have to do it fast enough to prevent the Scars or Warhounds from just conquering everything before their schemes come to fruition. The Night Lords want to be super brutal assholes? See how long they can keep doing that if Salamanders and Ultramarines are given operational command of all their joint exercises.

Use biomancy. All of it. From False Gods it made me think that Angron is so blinded by his past he doesn't want his Nails removed as he'd lose something that connected him to his gladiator buddies.
I thought "Perturabo" meant "disturbed" though. And he did have a full name for Konrad so maybe Big E was going to have Curze be the family name?

I'll never know how the Wolves got away with the "I'm not a witchmind, it's nature powers" bullshit. I guess might makes right, and I'm genuinely happy that they get reduced a lot in number and can never have successor chapters.
> Lorgar wants to be a philosopher? Fine, let him
The problem with that was that his philosophy both didn't quite match the Imperial "Truth" and that his legion was the slowest of them all.
Meaning that even the legions that lacked primarchs for decades, like the XXth and XIXth legions did better. Even the EC, who had to rebuild from mere 200 marines, or the TK which suffered a simmilar problem did better than the WB.
If Lorgar had a hundred thousand supermen specialized in conquering and destroying cultures at his command and still failed his objective it means he somehow managed to fuck up big time.

They make stupid mistakes all the time. Like Heavy Flamer tacticals in 6E when the new sternguard kit came out, before BA HF tacticals even existed.

>mfw I took bait.
>>47883777
Ah, Nurgle, that makes sense. I found an official looking picture of the Lions by the way.

I feel like Ryza's accents should be chrome silver. Ryza pattern lasguns are the old RT era lasguns, all retro futuristic glitterboy style
>>47883676
ADB is easily one of the worst authors that works for BL. he shoehorns in his own personal feelings into everything he writes and is a literal cuckold.

Good morning. In less than an hour, starships from here will join others from around the Imperium. And you will be launching the largest void battle in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by heinous treachery anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the 0507014.M31, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from chaotic annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the 0507014.M31 will no longer be known as an Imperial holiday, but as the day the Imperium declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate the start of the Great Scouring!
>Crowd cheers
And the division of the Legions into Chapters!
>Crowd jeers
Plus I'm a big fan of orange and silver
>>47883089
not every marine comes from a legions primary home world. The heresy fluff and FW books both speak of enormous diversity in chapters within legions, not everything has to conform to your very minute interpretation of something. FW themselves leave it all open to change because the daft fuckers will print one book saying one thing and another saying the opposite, see >>47882791 and one anon claiming you can't have green lenses and "European" robes when a FW print clearly has green lenses and very European skulls and Gothic decorations.
TLDR FW themselves can't make up their minds so don't close off yours.

I'm a big fan or orange, and silver accents fit very nice with that colour. Orange along with silver, brass, copper and those colours looks very nice.
>>47880294
I haven't read many of the HH books, which one had that?
>>47883850
Emperor bless you mate
>>47883586
He already did the Taken Speech.
Why the fuck are the Imperial Fists so loved and so played? I can't make sense of one of the less interesting legions being so adored by the masses.
>>47885171
tough as fuck super loyal space prussian crusaders
Are the Primarchs and by extension marines essentially chaos spawn?
Would the emperor and the imperium have actually been better off if he never dabbled in chaos?
Just finished 'Angels of Caliban'
Damn you Gav. 15 years and you still manage to answer shit yet generate more questions with every book.
With some of this he has to be trolling for the sake of trolling.
So there's nothing stopping me from using the BaC Marines as Legion heavy support right?
>>47885171
At least Dorn did something instead of circle jerking about Empire building like fucking girlyman.
>>47881996
He has massive dad issues - read Aurelian and it's clear his dad psychologically abused him, constantly telling him he was shit etc
Now he has his own child maybe he will change his writing - he did write celestial lions as outright Rastas
>>47885822
>Now he has his own child maybe he will change his writing
My son...HE'S NOT THE BEST HE COULD BE.
>>47882103
In Horus rising Horus thinks the emperor is studying how to use chaos even more
Horus thought all three warp drives and navigators etc was a good thing when in fact it was all temporary
No wonder the emperor didn't trust him with that info
Anyway - it was explained in path of heaven
The webway would have meant the end of the navigators as they are now - no need to create inbred monsters in order to concentrate the genes, meaning the houses would lose power
He needed certain structures to get humanity to a point but this structures would have fought to stop him taking humanity to the next level
It's like how terrorism is increasing it seems despite increased intrusion into privacy and billions spent on security agencies - if they actually did a good job of stopping attacks they would get less funding, so it's in their interest to let one or two get through even if they have to plan them themselves
>>47885822
>have son who is a cuck
>tell him to stop being an annoying cuck
>'STOP DAD I FUCKING HATE YOU'
>he then proceeds to poorly write dozens of books about how chaos is good and dads are evil, while inserting grrl power and cuck bullshit every chance he gets
his dad shouldve abused him more 2bh
>>47885633
Did something like losing half of whatever remained of his legion after Terra, then die in a Black Crusade to a bunch of regular ass marines?
>>47882239
It's been set at 50 now
But that will include anthologies that collect shorts and novellas
So at least 2 books of old stuff - one of which will be tallarn
But there will be one book every month this year
Half will be and are anthologies
>>47885522
Is it any good at all?
Is there a download link?
>>47882474
The emperor is Leto from dune
He wanted humanity to stand on its own feet
Funnily enough the earliest rogue trader stuff had him openly being a God and that's why it was a heresy - even talked about imperial priests during the crusade etc
>>47885987
Many people talk as if getting rid of the navigators was a bad thing. Don't you want to put those inbred MUTANTS to the torch? The Navigator families themselves acknowledge they would be hunted down should the wrong inquisitor visit their basements.
Some people give me the impression they'd be horrified if Emps destroyed the Navigators. What would be next? The AdMech?...the Astartes?!
If circumstances were deemed aproppiate or necessary, then sure, why not? When you outgrow your shoes, isn't it natural to discard them and get something new?
I'm not saying he should have made public the Imperial Webway project. I was going to say that surely the primarchs would have understood the dangers of the warp if Emps had explained it to them instead of a mere "trust me, you don't want that"...but somehow I think Magnus and Lorgar would still have fucked it up.
>>47886022
>IW Marines in a fortress designed by Perturabo
>regular
It also fucked over the IW back into the warp. That "mistake" doesn't even go on the top 20 of other Primarchs. Like Magnus "Let's destroy the webway" The Red. Or Ferrus "I'm gonna fight fagboi without my hammer" Manus or roboute "Let's fight a giant daemon sex snake" guilliman
>>47886243
>>IW Marines in a fortress designed by Perturabo
>>regular
The IW have great strategies (their RoWs) and pretty much don't give a fuck (their LA rules), but otherwise they're a bunch of normie marines, that's what >>47886022 means.
Still, Dorn walked into the "trap" on purpose. The supposed legion-wide pain glove kinda makes sense until you add in the fact that the IF marines couldn't refuse to go.
To wound one's own legion in order to test them, that's what Fulgrim did, that's what Perty did, and now Dorn did it too. Maybe it's a primarch thing?
>>47886074
I enjoyed it. But more than anything it was mostly a set-up novel. Getting pieces ready for the final plunge.

While Betrayer was good, I basically stopped liking ADB as a whole the moment I realized that the Night Lords trilogy is literally RA Salvatores drow faggot rammed into 40k.
>>47886508
just footslogging them?
how do you deal with typhons, medusas, scorpius, quad mortars with phosphex, etc? just target saturation?
>>47885589
nah you can, you just need the heavy weapons. the new heavy weapon kits FW made were made to be used with BaC marines
>>47886532
If you buy two boxes and use the missile launchers, yes.
>>47886003
Have you thought maybe he's like that because his dad abused him in the first place?
>>47880274
>All look different ages
Why? They are brothers created in a lab to be superhuman, they don't age normally and they shouldn't randomly be old men.
Beyond that Angron and Khan are great choices, Sanguinius, Guilliman, and Sanguinius are good choices, the rest are rubbish.
>Can't go to sleep

>>47883566
>thick lips
To be fair East Africans and Bushmen don't have thick lips and East Africans tend to have nose structure similar to Europeans and Semitic peoples. The only reason people tend to think of blacks as having broad noses and thick lips is because most people in the West are primarily are exposed to blacks from America who are primarily the descendants of West Africans (notable for their broad noses and thick lips) sold into slavery.
Africa is a lot more diverse than Europe since it has massive mountains, deserts, and jungles separating populations with relatively few major rivers to facilitate trade resulting in relatively little admixture between groups and thus the opportunity to develop more divergent physical features through natural selection or social preferences for certain traits.
>>47886978

So abusive
>>47887021
When you put it like that it makes it more of his fault. One person suggested that ADB doesn't have daddy issues, he actually has moma issues.
>>47887018
Because blue eyes are unique to one group of Europeans? Yep Slavs with blue eyes literally do not exist, and Germans with green eyes are a myth. Red headed Italians are aren't real and blonde haired Greeks only exist in ancient literature.
The whole point is that the physical features of the subgroups are extremely different, put a Russian a German, and a Frenchman next to each other and tell me what physical features you can use to tell them apart? On the other hand if you grab an Ethiopian, a Nigerian, and a South African black and line them up the Ethiopian will likely have a more narrow nose and thinner lips than either of the other two, the South African will have more tightly curled hair for the most part, and the Nigerian will have notably thicker lips and probably a broader nose too. Diversity isn't inherently good or bad, it is just a thing that exists, Africans are more diverse not because they are magically better people but because Africa is big as hell and travelling across the Sahara to get some poon is a shitty idea.
tl;dr go back to /pol/
>>47887083
I am almost certain every black library writer was molested by their father as a child. Probably a job requirement.
