It was art in the magic story that happened recently so you're in for some good times.
>>
>>47871736
I honestly dont know how to feel about this card. The fact it gives the opponent an extra turn kills it for me. There is also the fact that its "Target opponent" and not "target player" so you cant even give yourself an extra turn. If it was "card types in ALL graveyards" it would be better too.

It just does not do enough for me to like it. It looks nice but mechanically I think I'll pass. Its just to risky with not enough bonuses.
>>
If I control an "opponent" can I make them violate a tournament rule, like say their creature will "rape" mine or that their hand is "gay"?

I mean, if they have to follow instructions it's a rules violation if they don't do as I ask.

Actually, it gives him an extra turn during which you are controlling him.

I think it's amazing because it can hit the yard. Mimeoplasm and g/b recursion just got a major beat stick and as a commander, it's surprisingly versatile as a ultimate chunk blocker, a flyer and a mindslaver for as little as 7 colourless. Thats the WRONG way of thinking about it. You need to think in turns of the whole turn not just what you can do in a turn.

Just this last weekend I had two eternal masters draft matches lost by exactly one turn and one topdecked card.

They get a free draw. Sure you get to see what they have in their hand but that can mean fuck all. They still have it and can play it. If they HAVE instants and stuff you can use for unfavorable things sure you can do it but what if they dont? Then all you can do is swing an unfavorable attack. That is hardly game winning.

The problem here is consistency. It could be a blow out or it could actually hurt you by giving them that extra draw into a board wipe. Its just to risky to risk using.

Look at Ulamog. He hits the field and gets rid of two problems every time. He attacks and nukes 20 cards from their library every time. He is good because you can count on his ability helping you every time.

Personally, I think the perfect ending would have been the same as this one, but with Nissa being sacrificed as a consequence of bonding with the plane or whatever. >Then all you can do is swing an unfavorable attack. That is hardly game winning.

I dunno. Emrakul is big and flying, at worst you can pick their most dangerous/important creature and basically feed it to Emrakul as a form of removal.

He's read it, he just doesn't find it satisfying and the hoops Wizards went through to justify a "happy" ending for Zendikar were not worth making the Eldrazi less interesting.

I'm fine with it, but I get people's grievances.

Ugh. I am not excited for this set thematically. Shit's too creepy for me.

Protection from X means:

>Can't be damaged by X

>Can't be targeted by X

>Can't be enchanted or equipped by X

Middle one is important.
>>
>>47872445
I mean, sure, unless you count the endless story hand-wringing about how literally 90% of Zendikar is forever fucked, which means that for all the people complaining about how not even one plane went down to the Eldrazi one plane basically DID.
>>
>>47872445
Is that a bad thing?
>>
>>47872445
>muh shitty old ones rips offs!

Eldrazi are boing faceless retard who wander around eating, they're shit villians and deserved a shit death, deal with it.

With any luck this fat pile of shit ends up stuck in Innistrads moon and isn't heard from for at least another 2 years.
>>
>>47872445
>saturday morning cartoon

>first set in a block, a plane is in danger

Can't you just make them target themselves?
>>
>>47872433
>"Come'mrakul. Be'mrakul." they called out.

Hal felt the pull of their words. They had given in to the call the way Hal had been tempted to. They had crumpled and now they no longer had to fight it.

"Are'mrakul. We'mrakul."

This some bad writing
>>
So now that they killed all the Eldrazi. Where will we return to next and who will get fucked up? My guess is that we're going back to Mirrodin and Phyxerian get their shit handed to them, maybe destroy the plane just to be sure.
>>
>>47872460
>>47872467
>Wahh it doesn't win the game instantly so it's shit
It'll see play so fucking much because mindslaver is a game changer. /tg/ is horrible at magic.
>>
>>47872486
It's their 'twist' on Cthulhu-mythos speak and it's a very bad one.
>>
>>47872423
Already said it before. The worst thing a plane in mtg can get is not phyrexian or eldrazi, but a visit from mtg creative team.
Everything always ends with your plane is deeeeeeeeed.

It's good. Personally I preferred this trailer

>If this thing sees play expect stasis snare and clip wings to appear everywhere.

>>
>>47872446
Tron maybe
With chromatic star, ancient stirings, fetches its possible this thing could be 10 or less

then again newlamog is 10 and actually just wins the game better

I'm honestly having a hard time evaluating how devastating the cast trigger is
>>
>>47871902
you sound autistic friend

>>47872499
Yeah, at 13 mana, even with the mana reduction clause, if it doesn't win you the game, it's shit.

>>

Mindslaver only sees play because they were stupid enough not to put an exile activation cost.
>>
>>47872522
A 13/13 flier with trample, cost reduction effect, and mindslaver will win you the game. Hell, at 9 mana it costs less than ulamog.
>>
>Nahiri, Sorin, Jace, Tamiyo and Liliana team up and shove this fat bitch into the moon.
>Eldrazi fags will still cry about their bland timmy bait monsters not being unstoppable.
>>
>>47872158

>but guys, your opponent can topdeck sorcery removal after you've wrecked his hand and his playfield, this is weak!!

It is a 13/13 flying trample, which costs between 8 and 10, which also throws mindslaver at them and maybe gives them the chance to topdeck a Wrath of God, and even then, you can wreck their hand

Except for some much of the land still being desiccated and devoid of life, the entire planet having shaken half to pieces, Kiora's entire army of sea monsters still dead, the pathetically tiny remnants of the Zendikari army disbanding, the guy responsible (Bolas) not having been brought to justice, Chandra now walking with a cane, and the extremely unsubtle foreshadowing from Ugin that killing them instead of containing them has doomed the universe.

I still doubt it'll see play in Legacy or Modern. RG Tron maybe, and even then, I think it'd play Nulamog first.
>>
>>47872555
If she cost less then yes the risk would be worth it. As is I would rather have something cheaper that wont be a dead card if I cant work the mana up. Realistically I would only use her if her hard cast was 9 with the same effects.

>>

By the time you have 9 mana (about 10-15 turns in) you'll have delirium.

Assuming they had the mana to cast it all. And assuming theres other legal targets.

Everyones assuming that during their extra turn youll be able to keikaku things into position perfectly. Realistically, during most of the extra turns youll just tap them out and swing with a couple thing while dropping what spells you can.

Haha word, only reason I said it's the free spot is because EVERY time you insult the shitty 90's tier CGI art they always bring up Word of Command
>>
>>47872601
I'd take it.
A scheming, twice-scorned artificer who is only still a mere human is far more compelling than the Jacetice league vs mythic rare of the week.
>>
>>47872619
That's the point. I would only want to pay 5 or 6 mana for it. By the time you have 6 mana on the field you should be moving to wrap up the game. Your deck needs fixing if it drags on longer than 5 lands.
>>
>>47872509
>annihilator 4, indestructible
Reminder that RotE was made specifically for "battlecruiser magic." You were "supposed" to build up to big expensive destructive creatures and then start swinging. OG Ulamog was great for that.
>>
>>47872621
>how so? Are you implying the Gatewatch is the best thing that happened in Magic's lore?

>>
>>47871759
SoI was supposed to be the third set for the BFZ block until the blocks were changed to two sets.

So Emmy was probably part of the story already.
>>
>In that moment, there was nothing Jace wanted more than to do as she said. He wanted to go, to leave this world, leave the titan. Return to the world they had already saved: Zendikar. Sea Gate. The merfolk the kor and the vampires together. Nissa would be there, her green eyes aglow. And Gideon with his broad shoulders and ready smile, and—

>"Well, look who decided to show up. Hey, Gideon, over here!"

>—Chandra.

>"About time!" The tromping of boots materialized in Jace's ears, and the afterimage of Emrakul looming above gave way to the smiling face of his friend.

Some gay stuff and Jacetice League confirmed.

I dont care for big creatures. Their problem is that rarely does it converge that they are both big and viable. There has to be a way to get them to the field in a timely manner. Every turn is another turn your opponent can bullshit and win. With the current stance on mana rocks, dorks, and ramp there is just not a lot of ways to efficiently get these big things out.

I would rather have a 2/1 flyer in my deck than this Emy as of now. Unless they do a 180 and green turboramp is a thing again it will stay that way.

too powerful for Standard/Limited/Draft
>>
This card isn't very good. Would rather play new Kozilek instead desu

Too expensive to be normally cast, no point to reanimate

When it hits the field it's just a big beater which isn't very good. Ulamog does something by just attacking. Kozilek can counter opponent's spells for consistent value. New emrakul doesn't really do anything else once it hits the field besides be a flyer that can get chump blocked fairly easily and that dies to most removal in standard and almost everything in EDH. On top of that it can get countered. Even with pseudo-delerium it's too expensive for modern when better, more damaging, or hardier alternatives exist.

Bane of Bala Ged is a better card than this, and that was uncommon. Don't see this one being even a moderately high price past the a few weeks beyond release
