I want to run a high-flying campaign where the PCs are stuck in an inter-dimensional prison-world. The goal would be to escape/survive the insanity of a cage where beings from all of the corners of space and time have been crammed for unknown reasons.

As a general rule, build stats after the gm has given the character the ok, and if the stats are rolled do so in a manner they can see or ask to roll on your own time. Just plopping in and saying "here's my character theses stats are legit" does not make for a trustworthy first impression.
