Twist: the afterlife is a real, post-scarcity paradise. By imprisoning mortal souls on the mortal plane for drudgery, denying them their rightful reward, the necromancers have become worse than any labor baron - and banned themselves from true, heavenly freedom in the process.
How does anyone know if the necromancer isn't actually just a highly trained wizard in the telekinesis art. Who is to say he isn't just moving the skeletons and corpses with the same way the wizard moves a cup from a table to another.

The BBEG actually is the BBEG. He succeeds in his goal, freeing the slaves and tearing down the monarchies but the resulting world has no need for those without talent. As a result, countless fed slaves become starving beggars and bandits, and without an educated leadership, the strength of arms becomes the defining factor in a person's worth.

Well, the BBEG's plan is to change the world from 5th edition rules to having everyone (and I do mean everyone) can use magic intuitively, the way they used to be able to.
It also involves overturning every world government and effectively flipping the table on the world so things go back to 'normal'.
In her defense, she was here before all but four beings, all of which are high deities.
If she loses, she's leaving and taking her magic with her, so that's also a thing.

In the social classes sense, the BBEG would abolish the perception of "difference" meaning perhaps worth or intrinsic value as people, revealing to everyone that classes are an artificial construct of culture and civilization, and while they might not be abolished in function, the perception is, so people see each other outside of colored lenses of perception and as people in their own right, each worthy of respect and fair treatment as equals even if they are not economic, physical, cultural, martial, scholarly, or professional equals.
In short, the abolition of "class differences" is the removal of perceptions about how they are intrinsically different, and instead reveal how alike they are in common humanity.

And who is to say that the wizards telekinesis isn't actually necromancy. Ripping a soul screaming and crying from its resting place and forcing it to move a fucking cup for you only to discard it back to where-ever it drops next.
