Would you guys prefer a generic giant mecha CYOA, or a Pacific Rim CYOA?

What exactly did we Ej Har heroes do to make you hate us this much?
We've just got different priorities than you, that's all. We're definitely not "terrorists".

>>47791084
Your dad was murdered by an Ej Har hero? Jeez, sorry to hear that. If you've got any clues, mind sharing them? As a member of the Disciplinary Squad, I'm not gonna let a murderer ruin our reputation!
... Well, not that we had much of a reputation to begin with, but still!
>>
>>47791351
The funny thing is that he keeps treating Ej Har like they're the middle eastern school when Box is making an ACTUAL desert school for next time.
>>
>>47791351
I have this weirdly shaped anti-magic sword, and I know that the killer has the other half!

I'm not sure who murdered him, but I heard rumors that if I came to Ej Har, I'd find answers.

Your Student Government President looks mighty suspicious though.
>>
>>47791372
He seems to have Ej Har and Odesium confused since he's talking about blowing people up and stuff.

Hey! We at Odesium are much more advanced than that!

When we blow things up, we always keep ourselves a safe distance away!
>>
>>47791396
And the only explosives at Ej Har are either exploding spells or traps, and nobody is stupid enough to trigger their own explosive trap.

Finally got this here OC in a more or less serviceable state.
It's not really finished as I have companions, perks, anon's valiant escape waifus and more in the works but it's going to be a while before those are done and I feel this is perfectly playable as is.

Builds, complaints, feedback, even more ideas for augmentations are all very much welcome.

Anon, this is a bad idea. The only CYOA like this that remotely worked was Autism Prison because it gave us more points for being shit.

Also why are you treating IQs of 130 as bad? That's remarkably good when the average is barely 100.

No. Popular CYOAs have been exiled before and then come back when the fuss has died down some. There were threads for Conduit and Stardust, for example.
Now, these weren't exactly GOOD threads, but the current level of thread content that's just hero academy/builds for hero academy/rp about the builds is a little extreme currently.

I'm sorry, but as another anon said, the scoring system just doesn't work. Most people here won't score that well, which will decrease the popularity of this CYOA. Also, CYOAs generally shouldn't be based on how you are now in RL, that clashes with the escapism wish-fufilment nature of this form of entertainment.

In addition, the upgrades are far too expensive. For an average person, having a crossbow in your arm and not needing to sleep gives you a 1/3 chance of dying.

The only way to have a decent score is to be afflicted with a ton of mental illnesses. Given the relatively weak nature of the powers, it just isn't worth it.

Remove the whole scoring system, just give points to spend on powers. Make the powers cheaper. If you keep the system as it is, I really don't think anons will like it.

>>
>>47791891
I think there's some potential in having the start of a CYOA be based on your real-life self. Seems like it might help with the self insertion part, like it's "really happening". It would need a better and more generous scoring, though.
>>
>>47791904
>Anon, have you forgotten where you are?

Well, memes aside, being socially inept is not a mental illness.
>>
>>47791918
Did you miss the memo where she declared a week-long free-for-all where beating as many other people up as possible got you higher in the Student Council?
>>
>>47791904

Many people here might have one or two (an autist with anxiety? sure) but not the 3-5 you would need to get a decet power selection and not die or be crippled
>>
>>47791790
The admittedly flawed assumption is that people of average intelligence would have an easier time just going with the flow, whereas genius level intellect would, assumedly, be more in control of their emotions. This leaves above average to realize the danger they're in and freak out accordingly.

Also, anon, I'm giving points for mental illnesses and shit. I'm pretty sure manic depression doesn't make you "better" as a person.

Chastity is very much hardmode, but it's also potentially the most powerful. At full strength you can erase a full-power sin in 10 seconds. At long range even.

I've been considering making an add-on for that that adds boon:

Holy Gifts (Choose 1):
Notes: Charity is allowed to own a gift, and kindness cannot gift a Holy Gift.

Universal Focus- A shard of the altar of diligence, holding this aloft will cause the infinite energy of the universe to flow through you. Even as one of the chosen, your body isn't made to handle this much energy coming in all at once

Shoulder Angel- will do her best to keep you on track, give you tips about working with your restriction, and may even help out more directly, though she's not much of a fighter. She can die, in which case she respawns 40 hours later, descending from heaven to join back up with you.

Little Red Box- delay losing your power when breaking your rules

Rosary Beads- Holding these while praying at a church lets you teleport yourself and up to twelve nearby people to any other church in the world.

The Colt- A revolver with six bullets. Each bullet will kill whatever's shot with it instantly, no matter what it is.

Pure Holy Energy- You begin with your powers as if you had been doing good for a year

Second Chance- The first time you die, you awaken three days later in a cave in the middle-east

The Reward- You may select a mortal to become the unnoficial Virtue of Karma, who reflects damage back on attackers. Doesn't count towards kindness' power

Plus 2 or three more that I haven't come up with yet

Same choices:
-3% Siren

That leaves me with 91%. I think you made this way too lax on points, I preferred having to take the chance. The appeal of the CYOA to me was the hopelessness of the situation, and the big numbers reflected that.

Are you the original creator of the sins from op? Neat. I wouldn't worry too much about bonus boons for sins if you're gonna have companions. The main reason I'm making bonuses for the virtues is to make up for them not having companions. Really just try to make the sins more balanced with eachother, please? I mean, with mine there's some options that are more popular than others (I'm looking at you, kindness) but it's mainly because people don't feel they'd be able to keep up with the restriction in order to get the power. Meanwhile with the sins, sloth's doomed to never be anything more than annoying, being worse than pride even at his best, and the gluttony's madness makes him all but unplayable (the one build I saw making him doable was to eat envy immediately so that you can steal sanity). And of course pride is op as balls even without a companion, being able to command the other sins (and most virtues, since I didn't want to shit all over everything you did)

full text that had to be cut short to fit in the post:
>Universal Focus- A shard of the altar of diligence, holding this aloft will cause the infinite energy of the universe to flow through you. Diligence is constantly getting energy from the universe at a slow drip, this grants a steady stream for five minutes. Even as one of the chosen, your body isn't made to handle this much energy coming in all at once, and if you don't constantly use that energy as you get it it will eat away at your body, fizzling it into nothingness. At the end of the five minutes, you are drained of all energy you had, regardless of source. Diligence keeps whatever he had stockpiled, but cannot stockpile energy from the universal focus or use it to super (he's pretty much already Super 3 or 4 when activated anyway).

A mortal would probably die instantly, and humility wouldn't last much longer, both being able to expend the energy fast enough. I might have to add conditions to keep charity from Sharing the power. Let's say that holy gifts must be stolen manually, but will work for the holder (to include the box keeping the sins from being dropping, though it'd do absolutely nothing for a mortal)

The altars are what give you your initial powers, the shard is the only thing relevant after your initial choice.

1st year: sports (marksmanship)
2nd year: sports, Battle of the arts (As part of the music club)
3rd year: sports, Battle of the arts, Blind date (2,3 mecherath, Is she the one that got me into the basilisk den? I believe so)
4th year: sports, Battle of the arts, Blind date (4,1 kara’tee, since I’m not heavy on magic usage this should go fine. I try my best not to antagonize her for her opinion and have a good time) , Basilisk den
5th year: sports, Battle of the arts, Blind date (4,1 again… Same as above, except now we already know each other a little), Basilisk den

Art club (music club), culture club (music club)
Exchange program x2

Andrew was born the son of a traveling bard and performer couple. The two thought him a lot about music and the nomadic lifestyle on the road. He spend a lot of his youth talking to adventurers that where protecting the caravan that his parents were traveling with and the image of those adventurers fighting enemies is something that left a big impression on him.

The adventurer that has the biggest space in Andrews heart was a hero who that studied in ej har. Usually this hero was no different from other adventurers, but whenever a problem appeared that no other adventurer could handle he would solve it. Andrew only known him for less than a year but in this year he never saw this man doubt himself. He knew that whatever the world threw at him he would be able to solve it. This courage and confidence is something Andrew will always try to emulate. And this man alone is the reason why he decided to go to Ej Har instead of st.flares.

Because Andrew isn’t really courageous (not by lack of trying) he has decided that he will be more of use as an archer instead of a frontline fighter. He specializes in killing or incapacitating his enemies in as few attacks as possible to minimize risk to his allies.
>>
>>47792865
No, I think I'm gonna be keeping him having a good synergy with it, the burning he DOES take will do more good than harm, probably just disable his share while it's active. Or actually, he can only share healing and toughness, and the shard only gives raw energy, so it's probably fine.

That was one of the goals for this cyoa though: To have different builds/strategies be a thing, with a big focus on different things working together well. For example, the shard would also be really good on kindness and patience. The former being able to create exponentially heavier gifts (spawning tanks and such) and allowing patience to rewind time with relative ease

The Reward- You may select a mortal to become the unnoficial Virtue of Karma. Karma has the basic Immortallity and Supriority. The more virtuous Karma acts, the more generally powerful they will become, gaining speed, strength, etc, and strengthening a passive effect called [Golden Rule]. ...no? I certainly didn't intend for there to be any of such vibes.

>>47792938
I'm probably going to make three more builds for the remaining schools that I haven't done yet. Maybe today, maybe I'll be going to bed and making the builds tomorrow.
>>
>>47793124
Well damn, I could've gone a lot lower.
Meh, no use complaining, I'm practically one punch man.

I'm not sure I'm understanding Maker.

Can you break it down for a retard?
>>
>>47793127
Yeah, but fingers don't matter to much in arm wrestling. Also, filed that under sinew.

Ageaus "Lucky" the Faun.

>SCHOOL
St. Flares

>CLASSES
Ranged Combat II (focus on thrown weapons)
First Aid I
Unarmed Combat I (Goat kicks!)
Knowledge I (Astronomy/Geography)
Divine Arts III (Particularly focused on the god/ess of travel or stars)
Maneuvers I
Druidism I (He IS a fey, after all)

>CLASSMATES/COMPANIONS
Kit (She's exotic, like Lucky, but the relationship would be purely platonic)
Sorte (Like Kit, platonic relationship, she'd be more of a tutor and companion for romps through the forests)
3 more TBA (who wants to be friends with the Faun?)

>EVENTS
Great Tournament: Great Hunt (When fighting beasties it's imperative you bring a healer along!)
Harvest Fest.: Fundraising (he has a soft spot for them orphans, yo.)
Gathering of Life: Party Planner (He's a faun, he knows how to have a good time)

>CLUBS
Music (What? Don't look at me like that. He likes playing the pipes, sue me.)
Culture Club (He'd probably bounce around as the years passed, cooking one year, book club the next, etc.)

As far as fauns go, Lucky's a bit of an odd duck. He's not particularly capricious, doesn't seek ah... carnal pleasures, and is actually quite the gentleman when it comes to the lovely ladies. He doesn't mind wine and drinks responsibly, and is more than capable of sitting quietly in class, learning all he can, as opposed to being a social butterfly like you might expect out of a faun student.

He's stricken with an insatiable wanderlust, however, and joined St. Flares with the intent of learning everything he needs to travel the world at his own pace. He finds beauty in the stars, and peace from the sunsets. And if the academy can teach him what it takes to be a goodhearted person and hero, all the more better!

So finally we have
1.Ki-archer from Uzaza
2.Arcane archer from Lunestier
3.Assassin archer from Ej Hal
we're lacking explosive "archer" from Odesium and St. Flares can come up with some blue-magic archery

You start with 100 points
You add/subtract points based on the instructions

You take powers and lose points

You roll d100, if you roll less than the remaining amount of points you live without problems. If you roll between your number of points and your number of points +20. You live but get maimed some way. If you roll above that you die.

>>47792877
Fuck it let's roll the dice.

Abusive Childhood 110
Under 30 120
Depression probably counts 130
How remarkable is remarkably?

AG#458 Swarm 117
AG#459 Ouroboros 95
Wasn't going to take this until I saw that Clockwork helps me reduce the risk of cancer while also improving my body
AG#511-#519 Clockwork 77
Not entirely sure what was intended to be taken, but heart, kidneys, liver, pancreas, stomach, lungs, large intestines, small intestines. 0.1% of "untreatable cancer", whatever exactly that means, per year isn't fantastic but the other upsides are good enough I think.
AG#537 Caliburn's Scabbard 74
AG#557 Horus 69
AG#558 Sherlock 57
AG#560 Farsight 54
Mostly just wanted Farsight before I saw the prereqs. The other stuff is definitely good too.

All right, the plan was to just fuck myself up with implants then live or die based on chance, but honestly this isn't too bad. Maybe could've picked something other than "live a lot" but oh well. I realize you were coming up with pseudo-realistic technological justifications for the augments but Spectre is a bit meh at the moment, while I usually take shapeshifting type powers at any opportunity. I'm not asking you to keep toning down your adventure or anything, just that as is it doesn't really seem that worth taking. As an alternative suggestion, maybe having it closer to true-shapeshifting but it does this with some painful body-horror type dermal implants that literally reshape your body over the course of a few hours or a day.

Also, for Clockwork, I wasn't sure exactly what you intended by 10 vital organs. I did a bit of googling to get some info and most of the lists were split into groups of either 5 or 10 and the ones that had 10 were either the 8 I chose plus Brain (which you implied wasn't an option, understandably) and Skin (Which I didn't want to take). Some of them combined the intestines and added Eyes to the list as well, but you have that under Horus.

Anyways, fingers crossed!

Druid Archer for St.flares would work better I think.
>>
>>47793290
>Blue Mage Archer
Oh shit that has potential to fuck shit up.
>>
Rolled 25 (1d100)

>>47793314
Fuck I'm literally retarded. Do I get bonus points for that?

One thing I wanted to mention about Clockwork before I ran out of characters, I'm not sure if you want to include all 10 options in the textbox or leave it sort of vague as-is. Maybe have a footnote or something?

Basically you touch an object made up of a continuous substance. Alloys, gold, wood, water, etc. You get a sense of said substance, kinda as though it were a somewhat numb limb.
At will, you can cause more of said substance to be created at any point along the object's continuity in any shape you can consistently picture.

In doing this you're using the gloop the good doctor implanted into you which means you can easily run out. However, by touching the substance you created you can cause it to turn back into gloop and reabsorb it.

Separate organs, though the boosted functionality would allow you to function as well from one augmented lung as from two unaugmented ones. The good doctor says the brain is far too complex an organ to build from scratch complete with memories, personality and such.
However, Ouroboros will gradually replace your brain with the specially bio-engineered reversible stem cells.
>>47793335
Vital organs as in organs without which humans quickly die. The decreased risk of cancer applies to another augment - Ouroboros, which gives you a 0.5% yearly chance of developing it.
>>
>>47793305
I think having a gunmen "Archer" would be better.
